One usual day at the Suzunaan, Kosuzu asked Vạn Thư about something that surprised her.

Vạn Thư: The history of the Great Library of Hakoniwa? I mean, I already told you that the Legendary Crane created the Library long ago.

Kosuzu: But I didn't see you mentioning about the history of your Library inside the Hakoniwa Records series. Surely there was something you hid from everyone wasn't it?

Vạn Thư sat down taking a deep breath and answered.

Vạn Thư: The truth is…it was quite complicated…

Eventually she decided to tell Kosuzu and Akyuu after thinking for a while.

Vạn Thư: Normally I wouldn't tell anyone in details about the history of the Library since it had been an unspoken rule among the librarians for centuries. But since I already abandoned my role as a librarian recently it won't hurt to talk about it.

Long ago there were actually two founders of the Great Library of Hakinowa. The first one as you already knew it, the Legendary Crane, built up the Library upon the vision of giving enlightenment to the humanity and taking a neutral stance against all war.

The second one however, built the Library upon the concept of serving it as a tool of war and a more pragmatic approach to the change of history. The whole belief of the second founder went against the idealistic approach of the Crane because she believed the librarians should directly change the course of history with their own power from the scrolls.

Because of that it was inevitable that a fight between both of them happened. The second founder had been defeated and exiled. No one ever knew what happened after that. Not even a historical record ever mention about the name of the second founder.

While it was a heresy to doubt about the virtual of the Crane but for once I don't think it's all matter anymore. The Library itself already fell into decline after the Crane left Hakoniwa to its own device.

Akyuu: Didn't you actually turn the vision of the second founder into reality? Sengi's successfully convinced you into the war.

Vạn Thư: True. I already violated the vision of the Crane the moment I stopped being neutral.

For hundreds of years people had stopped believing in the Library because every war happened without our involvement. And with that it was extremely hard to find new student as time grew by. By the time I became the student of the Library most of the villagers had zero interest at that decaying Library.

Furthermore, the Warring State Era was so wide scale and violent that a librarian like me couldn't stay neutral anymore. Eventually the flame of war will come after the Library.

Yet I didn't realize the fate of the Library already been sealed the moment I violated its rule.

Still, I think the Library was doomed to fail anyway. Even the Crane abandoned it and left the enlightenment part to the humanity through life experience.

Akyuu: So the second founder finally won after all.

Kosuzu: Did she create scrolls like the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension?

Vạn Thư: Well, I don't care about it anymore. There wasn't extra information about her contribution so I couldn't be sure either.

Yet their conversation had been stalked by Yukari who had been spying on them since Vạn Thư told them her story. She didn't say anything but it was clear that she could understand the identity of the second founder of the Library and all she needed was an extra confirmation from her story.

At an unspecified location at the edge of Hakoniwa, a lonely person lied lazily on her sofa sipping her tea. Her name was Yukari Yakumo. Yukari from Gensokyo appeared in front of her with just a simple portal from her power to cross the boundaries.

Alt Yukari: So you finally came, parallel Yukari. At least I could confirm my theory of parallel Yukari was true. I had been waiting to see the day the Crane's vision failed majestically.

Yukari: It took me a little bit to locate where you came from. While Vạn Thư burned all of those scrolls I already knew how to recreate its magic and track down your location in here.

Alt Yukari: So you had finally figured it out that the Scroll of Illusionary Dimension, Scroll of Teleportation along with other scrolls were being created by me?

Yukari: The moment I saw my ability getting blocked it was clear that it was you. All I need to do was an extra confirmation from that librarian's story.

Both Yukari looked at the burning Library at the old village of Hakoniwa as the new Emperor and the villager agreed to burn it down in favor for a new town to improve the life of the poor people. It had been a long time the librarians of the Library couldn't contribute much into the development of the poor village.

Alt Yukari: How ironic, the Crane defeated me and proved that its vision was the only righteous path. Yet it was its stupid idealism that destroyed the Library in the end. Without using those scrolls or joining the war the reputation of the Library crumbled due to the lack of faith on it.

All of the scrolls inside the Library had been burned, stolen or damaged the moment Vạn Thư decided to do a good deed just for once.

Sengi was so desperate that he had to ask for the help of the Great Library after his previous librarian got assassinated. Humanity should use those scrolls instead of keeping it in one place forever.

The Crane abandoned its vision in the end and Vạn Thư was the final nail in the coffin.

Yukari: You once feared my power wasn't it?

Alt Yukari: Obviously, every other Yukari version from the other dimensions could be my potential rival. It was better for me to cast some extra abilities to deny you from using it against me. Still, I don't think it matter much anymore as I already perfected the power of the scrolls during my hibernation.

That old Scroll of Illusionary Dimension along with other had been created by me but it was either the failed product or the later librarians burned it. They didn't understand there would be a day those scrolls would be recreated again for the sake of necessity. They already violated the principle of the Crane without knowing it, burning the scroll or turning the librarians into hermits was a stupid way to spread enlightenment to the humanity.

Yukari looked at this world with an amused face while sitting on the other end of the sofa made by the other Yukari, while Hakoniwa finally had its peace it would be sure that peace won't last forever. More importantly, she already saw the first sight of gunpowder technology had been steadily developed in this nation. For sure the age of librarians is over, the age of technology has began.

Alt Yukari: Does the tea taste good for you?

Yukari: Its taste like Miyoi's sake. It's bad.

Alt Yukari: ...You are annoying just as I am...

Alternative Yukari looked at her with a bored face
