A maid café suddenly propped up in the Human Village which caused annoyance to Kosuzu. It was a maid café built by Nitori and ruled by Sanae which was meant to attract the villager's faith.

Kosuzu: Sanae is trying to attract follower by using her knowledge of Outer World to build up a café shop nearby my Suzunaan! Worse, Suzunaan is losing customers because all of the villagers got hooked into that café!

Kosuzu complained to Vạn Thư who had been becoming closer to Kosuzu as she began to publish her book while interacting with the villagers more often after she abandoned most of her hermit attitude.

Vạn Thư: Why don't you just build one instead?

Kosuzu: Neither me nor Akyuu was a maid! Also, how could I even build a maid café when there was nobody who wished to help me!?

Mamizou: How about converting your book renter into a maid café?

Mamizou suddenly appeared at the doorway but Kosuzu vehemently disagreed

Kosuzu: ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Mamizou then looked at Vạn Thư

Vạn Thư: What?

Mamizou: You were once a maid during the war wasn't it?

Vạn Thư: But that's have nothing to do with this current situation! I merely acted as a maid out of necessary! Plus, there is nobody who is willing to build a café or repurposing Suzunaan…

BONK

Suddenly Kosuzu smacked her head with a book before she could finish her sentence!

Kosuzu: I SAID NO!

Mamizou chuckled with a sigh as both of them came into a pointless argument

Mamizou: You are beyond hopeless. Still, I will leave this job to a familiar person who is more eager to help you.

Meanwhile at the Hakurei Shrine, Reimu showed her sleepy face while sitting with Mamizou

Reimu: Why calling me at this early morning?

Mamizou: The morning is nearly over you know?

Mamizou then pointed to the sky but she realized Reimu had a very sleepy face unlike usual, Mamizou then made a simple taunt to wake her up

Mamizou: Reading books too much?

Reimu: Shut it. What do you want?

Mamizou: Sanae built a new café at the Human Village to attract believers and customers.

Reimu: Another dirty move from them again!

Reimu raised her hand into the sky with a deep frustration

Mamizou: Not only so, Miyoi feared she would lose her customer at Geidontei too.

Reimu: I don't want to work as a waitress but at the same time I still want to sell stuff for money and attract customer. So then I will sell stuff to advertise the café and reap the reward for my hard work!

Mamizou sweat dropped as she remarked 'as greedy and lazy as usual'

Mamizou: Still, I'm calling the Kappa to help me build a café next to Suzunaan.

Eventually a three-sided maid café battle is about to explode.

Miyoi: So you suggested I should build up a new maid café next to my bar, Suika? But I didn't know how to work as a maid café like the Outer World nor possessing the knowledge like Sanae!

Suika: It would feel boring to see me as the only person going into Geidontei. Also, I'm sure I could ask the help of the Yashiki Warashi since they once travelled to the Outer World seeking for a better job in the past.

After all it's not only Sanae who tried to compete with us. Suzunaan tried to do the same too as Vạn Thư was helping them while Mamizou was seeking for Reimu and Nitori help.

Miyoi: Oh, I remembered she once disguised as a maid over decades during the war…OVER DECADES!?

Miyoi shouted and threw her hand up to the air in panic as she realized how much disadvantage she has! Suika showed her relaxing attitude as usual.

Suika: Relax, you are not alone in this battle. I'm sure Aya will help us too.

Miyoi showed her happy face as the thanks while Suika began to find Aya to help her

Aya: So there will be a three-sided battle between the maid café? That would reap a huge potential for my news!

Aya said in excitement, Suika sipped her gourd

Suika: I need you to help me raising the popularity of Miyoi's café so that she could regain her customer back.

Aya: No problem!

After a week there are three café inside the Human Village competing over the control of the villagers. Villagers had been lining up in all of the three places as each of them employed various tactics to attract customers.

Sanae used her faith and the blessing from Kanako and Suwako to attract customer in an easy way. In fact, her Shinto ritual inside the café was a good advertising method since she was already being popular to the villagers from the beginning.

Miyoi relied on Aya to advertise her café on Bunbunmaru newspaper and the immense strength of Suika to build up a new café next to her. Also, some of the Yashiki Warashi temporarily left their host home to find a new job in here as it looked attractive for them.

Meanwhile Kosuzu's café relied on a more unusual approach by turning their knowledge from Suzunaan into something else. Akyuu who financed the café with the wealth of the Hieda also arrived with some of the advices for Kosuzu to manage the café.

That night at the café, Vạn Thư who wore her maid costume bowed before everyone in a happy smile

Vạn Thư: Welcome everyone, as the popular author of Hakoniwa Records and other books I don't think I would need to introduce myself again. Still, as our style of running the café would be storytelling I would love to tell you any story from my books that I had published so far.

Villager A: Could you sum up the story of Hakoniwa Records? It feels so hard to read a long series with so much detail!

Villager B: Yeah! We wanted a more simplified version of the Warring State Era in Hakoniwa!

All of the other villagers agreed as they had been a fan of Hakoniwa Records within a year. Vạn Thư looked at them with a stumbled face. While it's true she is a popular author it was impossible for her to sum up the massive war that span from decades without making everyone falling asleep halfway through her story.

Vạn Thư: Erm…I…

Suddenly Kosuzu bowed in apologize as she dragged Vạn Thư into the other room as she realized she was being hesistated

Kosuzu: I think that idea backfired!

Kosuzu told Vạn Thư in panic while Vạn Thư was scratching her head trying to think how to simplify her own story. Akyuu suddenly showed up with a calm face.

Akyuu: I will teach you about it as I had the experience from the Hieda Temple School.

Vạn Thư: Thanks about that. Still, are you sure it would work?

Akyuu: The Hieda Clan already spent a small amount of our wealth to reap fruit of the investment. I'm sure I don't want you or the Suzunaan to fail either.

With that advice Vạn Thư showed up and began to tell her story within the most simplified way as possible

Vạn Thư: As you can see, there are a lot of warlords, clans and Shoguns that span across Hakoniwa after the death of the previous Emperor. As every major sides wanted to install a new Emperor to the throne it was clear everyone else must pick a side or perish.

Despite of that, there were only three relevant states inside the war:

Maruyama, led by the Emperor loyalist who wanted to preserve power for the Emperor and dispose the power of the Shogun caste

Raika, led by those who wished to keep the power for the Shogun caste and turn the Emperor into a ceremonial role only

Senka, led by Shogun Sengi who turned the farmer into a proper army to defeat both side

Initially Sengi's father wanted to turn Senka into an independent state but after losing a major battle with the Maruyama, Sengi quickly took over his father role and decided to recruit a local librarian within his region to turn the tide of war into his favor.

After the death of the previous librarian due to assassination he came after a new librarian and persuaded her to join the war with him. Initially she was being reluctant because the long tradition of the Great Library of Hakoniwa was to avoid war at all cost yet she realized how bad the war was.

Eventually she sided with him to end the war in Hakoniwa. It took decades to end the war and eventually Sengi became a new Emperor while his son inherited the throne after he passed away.

That's the simple summary for everyone in this café no matter if you already read my story or not.

Everyone clapped their hand with a cheerful applause, beyond the boundaries however there were two Yukari who are drinking tea while watching the former librarian doing her job as a maid

Alt Yukari: How interesting~ Looks like she was having fun in Gensokyo.

Yukari: Yet trouble keeps finding her, at least her situation had been improving so far along with her personality. She went from a hermit who doesn't like to reveal her real identity into a more open-minded person who is okay at telling other about her life in Hakoniwa.

I'm quite interested in having a tour with you to Hakoniwa. It had been a very long time since Hakoniwa hiding its presence from my sight. Still, I could sense the magical creatures in here is going to extinct soon within a few centuries once the human mastered their technology and logic.

Alt Yukari: The scroll was being helpful wasn't it? Without the power of my scroll you couldn't find out about my location on Hakoniwa. I already created a barrier by the Scroll of Dimensional Barrier to prevent parallel version like you from entering my world unless you had my scroll.

As a wise man once said: Your biggest enemy is yourself

Alternative Yukari began to show Yukari her personal working room inside her boundaries

Alt Yukari: The Crane called me as a paranoid librarian for my obsession for the theory of parallel Yukari but it didn't stop me from developing my plan in secret. I merely waited for this perfect moment to commit my plan with your help.

Right now I need you to get rid of the Crane, as a librarian I had a limited amount of magic which I already wasted many of it in the previous fight only to reap failure. Right now if I tried to make a move in the broad daylight the Crane an its army will be alarmed and I will be defeated again.

Yukari: That plan you are planning was an isolated world behind a barrier similar to mine wasn't it?

Both Yukari looked at each other with a mysterious smile

Meanwhile at the Scarlet Devil Mansion

Sakuya: Forgive me Mistress but I would love to ask why you didn't let me build up a café in the Human Village when I could just create a new café within an instant?

Remilia: It would attract unnecessary attention from other especially when Reimu is among those villagers. After all, I saw no benefit in competing with those random cafes that only last after a week, those villagers would lose their interest pretty soon enough.

Remilia sipped her tea while looking at the red moon

Side Note: I took some inspiration from Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Sengoku Jidai to create the baseline of Warring States Era in Hakoniwa
