He pulled his car in front of the wreck, at a slight angle, so that his convertible blocked the crashed cars from oncoming traffic. "Stay in the car, okay honey?" he ordered.

Johnny and Roy are looking forward to a quiet mini trip with Captain Stanley and his troubled sister Ashley, with plans for skiing in the snowy Colorado Rockies. But the timely escape of a federal convict and a merciless avalanche are set to destroy everything they have planned. AU/non-Canon

He heard another crack from the rifle a second before he felt an agonizing, deep burn in the back of his leg. He cried out in pain as his leg gave out beneath him and he tumbled hard to the ground. Blinking back the tears of pain, he cast a quick furtive glance behind him, and saw his tormentor moving closer, getting into position for the kill.

It was the first C shift after graduation, two weeks before Christmas, when Rescue Man Johnny Gage walked into his new station. "You Gage?" a disembodied head asked, sticking appearingly out of the wall, revealing an office door. Johnny nodded. "Come over this way."

For once, Johnny wasn't running late, or as he called it, exactly on time. He noticed Stoker's truck in it's usual spot. What wasn't usual was the open tailgate with sheets and planks of wood. He paused to look up, clouds were covering the sky, it was supposed to rain later. "Wonder if Mike knows," Johnny muttered in thought. He didn't want the engineer's lumber to warp.

"Well Gage?" Chet asked anxiously. "I'm afraid he's dead, Chet, there's nothing more I can do." Johnny sighed softly. "But there has to be something else you can try!" Chet implored as he looked down at the small, covered body.

"Hey Mike," Captain Stanley said, "What do you know about demolishing a wall?" he asked. Mike shrugged, "You'll wanna ask Johnny about that." "Gage?" Hank questioned. His mind trailed off to the younger medic. Discovering, with a frown, he really didn't know anything about Gage at all. He wanted to fix that.

This is a fun story from Mike's POV. It starts with the day that Hank Stanley became the captain at station 51. In this version of the Emergency universe, Mike has a lot of siblings trying to ruin his reputation of responsible, respectable, and most importantly, quiet.

"Are there really multiple versions of one family recipe?" Mike piped up from the couch. "Yeah, is it really a family recipe if everyone has their own version?" Roy challenged. Marco furrowed his eyebrows in thought, his family, like Mike's, tried to make it as exact as possible. "If there's that much argument," Johnny said, "I'd just use a cookbook."
