Ladies and gentlemen. Good afternoon.

Penny and I would like to thank you all for coming today to help us celebrate the marriage of Iain and Ruby It's good to see so many friends and family since most of you have travelled some distance to be here.

Today is not just a celebration of the love that's united Iain and Rubyin marriage. It's also a celebration of the families that have created, moulded and influenced these two very special people.

I would like us to take a brief moment to remember those loved ones who are no longer with us. They would be so proud and happy for Iain and Ruby today.

So, please raise your glasses to: "Absent family and friends."

Iain and Ruby had very definite ideas on how they wanted their special day to be and I would like to thank them for their efforts in making today such a tremendous success. At times, I think we all felt that we were auditioning for an episode of Blue Peter.

Ruby, it's been a great honour and a pleasure to walk you down the aisle. It's one of my proudest moments and I'll cherish the memory forever. I now officially forgive you for making me watch you do that Bungee Jump in Bristol.

Ruby is a wonderful daughter as she's given us so much joy and happiness over the years. We've always been so proud of her. I can't remember a school Speech Day when she didn't win a prize and Parent's Evenings were always a joy for us. We only ever received one complaint and that was about her handwriting.

I think that was when Penny and I realised that she was destined to be a paramedic. Ruby is a kind, caring, intelligent, independent and beautiful young woman. It's with great joy that we have watched her blossom into the wonderful person she is today.

Success in marriage is not about finding a person that you can live with... It's about finding the person that you can't live without...

I wish you fun and excitement for today – fulfilment of your hopes and dreams for tomorrow – and love, happiness and gaming forever!

My greatest wish for the two of you is that your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now; you'll look back on today as the time that you loved each other the least. Remember; you may marry the person you love but you must love the person you marry.

Ruby, you've always been and always will be our Princess, now that you've found your Prince.

Iain stood up and said" Can I start my speech by welcoming all of our guests.

Today, we are surrounded by most of the friends and family that have been important to us during our lives.

Some of you have travelled many miles, just to be here today.

It makes me the happiest man alive to be able to stand here and say to you all, ladies and gentlemen, friends and family, on behalf of my wife and I, welcome to our wedding and thank you sincerely for sharing this special day with us. It really wouldn't be the same without you all.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to both Penny and Josh for all their love and support, you have made me feel like a part of the family from day one and I have never had the chance to say thank you properly – so thank you. Thank you also for raising a beautiful, intelligent and sometimes stubborn daughter and – of course for letting me have her hand in marriage. I can tell you both that her happiness is so important to me and I promise to do you both proud.

I would like to thank my wife – I think I'm going to enjoy getting used to saying that – for agreeing to marry me and for making me the happiest man in the world.

I think you'll agree that she looks absolutely gorgeous today and when she walked up the aisle, you took my breath away.

They say you don't marry someone you can live with – you marry the person who you can't live without and I think that sums us up perfectly. Now if I had to single out one thing about why I love Ruby so much, it would be the fact that she makes me happier than I ever dreamed I could be. And I intend to spend the rest of my life making sure that the reverse is also true. I know that Ruby has put a huge amount of effort into making today perfect and I think that she has done that, and more. Having known Ruby for a long time , I have learned a valuable lesson – when I'm wrong, admit it. When I'm right, keep quiet! Seriously though, I never have a problem finding the words to express my love for Ruby, but if I start now, I probably won't be able to stop. Suffice to say that, Ruby, I love you so much and I look forward to growing old with you.

Ladies and gentlemen, before I hand over to my best men for my ritual humiliation, please can I ask you all to stand for one last time and raise your glasses to my wife, the new Mrs Dean.

Sah who was Ruby's maid of honour stood up and said" Hi everyone, my name is Sah. It is an absolute pleasure for me to be your maid of honour today. Firstly, I would like to thank all the other bridesmaids for doing a great task and making this day so special. I've decided not to tell any embarrassing stories because it would also be embarrassing for me and our parents probably don't know about most of them.

Anyway, on a serious note, Ruby is my bestest friend ever. In fact, I would say we are like really close sisters. I have never seen you happier than you have been these last few years with Iain. I hope the best for you both for now and always. May you guys share everything in life together equally, including the housework.

We are here today to celebrate everything Ruby and Iain have found in each other – a best friend, a lover, a teacher, a playmate, a true partner for life. As you both sit side by side through this roller coaster of life remember to scream through the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loops and enjoy every twist and turn for the ride is better because you share it together. Separately you are two very special people but together you are complete.

Lastly, I'd like to wish you words from the song "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders:
