Doctor Who Script - End of Beginnings (DAVID TENNANT RETURN!)

DAVID TENNANT RETURN! I wrote this script to show a way we can get Doctor Who back to when it was best with David Tennant. Explaining how he can return acting as the Doctor while also explaining his clear ageing (since it has been over a decade since he left our screens )

I wrote this Doctor Who script in 2015 when I was 18. Peter Capaldi was the Doctor and at the time, I was biased and stupid to think he was a terrible Doctor. I was missing David Tennant (the best Doctor), so I created a short storyline explaining how he can come back as the new Doctor and Donna as his companion. This script would explain why Tennant has aged as that's something that shouldn't be glossed over (Day of the Doctor!). I understand that some elements in this script may be outdated because of recent revelations made since 2015, but I thought in light of the new Doctor Who anniversary episode being released and how we don't know how Russell T. Davies plans to bring them back, I thought I'd share how I envisioned David's return. Any feedback is very welcome. Hope you enjoy it!

Doctor Who Series

Fade in.

INT. DALEK SPACESHIP. NIGHT

THE DOCTOR is on his knees in front of DAVROS and the TARDIS. Hundreds of DALEKS stand by and watch as Davros takes his final blow to kill the Doctor once and for all.

DAVROS

I have the whole of existence in my grasp. This is my final victory Doctor. Wiping out the Time Lord race for good.

The Doctor drops his head down, clenching his teeth breathing heavily in anger. After a while, he painfully stands up and stumbles to the TARDIS.

DAVROS

Witness the infamous Doctor.

Saviour of worlds. Turning and

running away.

FX: Davros laughs hard, he orders the Daleks to fire at the Doctor.

The Doctor enters the TARDIS.

CUT TO:

INT. TARDIS. NIGHT

DAVROS

Coward!

Still in a lot of pain, the Doctor staggers towards the TARDIS control panel. He operates it and vicously pulls the final lever down.

CUT TO:

EXT. DONNA NOBLE'S HOUSE. NIGHT

WILFRED MOTT looks out of the downstairs window. He and SYLVIA NOBLE rush outside and towards the TARDIS. The Doctor opens the TARDS door and presses against the side.

SYLVIA NOBLE

Who are you?

Wilfred looks confused and then realises.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 2.

WILFRED MOTT

Doctor?

DOCTOR

Donna... is she here?

SYLVIA NOBLE

Doctor, its them Daleks again they-

The Doctor impatiently interrupts.

DOCTOR

Is she here?

WILFRED MOTT

Yes she's inside. We've been trying to keep her safe inside and away from them bloody aliens.

DOCTOR

Bring her to me.

Wilfred hesitates.

WILFRED MOTT

Now hold there Doctor, you told me that if she remembers anything about you her mind would burn. We've been keeping her away from all this madness happening outside and-

The Doctor falls had on the ground and violently looks up at Wilfred. Wilfred hesitates again and quickly goes to collect Donna.

SYLVIA NOBLE

Doctor, is this it?

The Doctor just looks at Sylvia with a blank expression.

DONNA NOBLE

Oh, am I allowed out now am I?

The Doctor turns his head towards the house. Donna marches out of the house while Wilfred follows behind her.

DONNA NOBLE

I don't know what you and

grandad are playing at but I am

not spending another minute in

that house. Keeping me locked up

in there like some invalid.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 3.

Donna looks at the TARDIS.

DONNA NOBLE

Where did this box come from?

Donna sees the Doctor.

DONNA NOBLE

Hey mate, you alright?

Donna turns to her mother.

DONNA NOBLE

How much has he had to drink?

The Doctor winces and looks at Wilfred.

DOCTOR

We haven't got much time.

DONNA NOBLE

I'll tell ya, I think I'm coming

down with something. My head is

banging.

A worried Sylvia looks at Donna then pulls her in front of him.

SYLVIA NOBLE

She's here doctor. What do you

want from her?

DONNA NOBLE

Mum, what are you doing?

Donna holds her head in pain.

DONNA NOBLE

Ah! My head.

WILFRED MOTT

She's remembering Doctor. You

said she would die!

The Doctor desperatly gets up from the ground and pulls Donna into the TARDIS

WILFRED MOTT

Doctor!

SYLVIA NOBLE

Doctor, where are you taking her?

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 4.

The TARDIS door closes. Sylvia rushes towards the door and starts banging.

SYLVIA NOBLE

Doctor, open the door!

The sound of the TARDIS begins and the wind blows.

SYLVIA NOBLE

Doctor, where are you taking her?

Where are you taking my daughter?

Doctor!

FX: The TARDIS dissapears.

CUT TO:

INT. TARDIS. NIGHT

Donna's head is still hurting and the Doctor rushes past her and towards the control panel, he begins operating.

DONNA NOBLE

What the hell are you doing?

Donna tries to open the TARDIS door but it is locked.

DONNA NOBLE

Let me out.

Donna kicks the door in an attempt to open it.

DOCTOR

Donna.

Donna turns around.

DONNA NOBLE

How do you know my name? Who are

you. What the hell is this

place... Ah!

Donna stops and pushes her hands on her burning head. DONNA NOBLE

I can't belive it. You've kidnapped me! On my own front porch! Is this a joke? Wait, was this SHAUN'S idea?

This has got Shaun written all over. That divorce was the best thing that could ever happen to me. I never knew he would stoop this

(MORE)

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 5.

DONNA NOBLE (cont'd)

low.

(Pause)

Hold on a minute... this place

is bigger on the inside.

Donna falls and leans onto the TARDIS railings. Her head is burning more and more.

FX: The TARDIS begins to collaps, get on fire and the panel explodes.

Both the Doctor and Donna are holding on to the shakey and unstable TARDIS. DONNA is still in a lot of pain and is screaming.

DONNA NOBLE

What is happening?!

The TARDIS stops and both travelers fall to the ground.

CUT TO:

EXT. ROSE'S HOUSE, CANTICUM - PETE'S WORLD. DAY

FX: The TARDIS materialises on the street outside ROSE TYLER'S house in Canticum. She shares this house with the META-CRISES DOCTOR and their daughter.

The Doctor opens the TARDIS door and immediately falls to the ground.

Rose and the Meta-Crises Doctor, now aged, hear the sound of the TARDIS and both run outside and to the Doctor.

DOCTOR

Stay back!

Donna stumbles out of the TARDIS in tears. Her head is burning even more now.

DONNA NOBLE

My head! Oh God, my head. It hurts.

It burns.

She falls and the Meta-Crisis doctor catches her.

ROSE TYLER

Doctor?

The Doctor looks at the Meta-Crisis Doctor in pain.

He immediately knows what he has to do.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED: 6.

FX: The Meta-Crisis Doctor kisses Donna and a glowing gold energy passes through her face and into his.

The Meta-Crisis Doctor slowly pulls Rose down and hands Donna over to her as Donna passes out. Meta-Crisis Doctor rushes to the Doctor who is now dying; the Doctor presses their heads together just before he finally passes away lying next to the TARDIS and in the arms of the Meta-Crisis Doctor. The Doctor has transferred all of his Time Lord energy to The Meta-Crisis Doctor, transforming his human DNA into Time Lord. He knows the responsibility now falls on him, the new last of the Time Lords.

Fade out.
