Love & Laughter

It was their honeymoon.

Therefore, Jack and Lucy often had difficulty dragging themselves from their hotel room with its gorgeous city views that could be seen even from the comfort of their bed. Nevertheless, whenever the couple...who had only been married for a few days...managed to pull themselves out of that particularly seductive spot, Jack insisted they visit the places that Lucy had dreamed about for years.

"After all, you're finally in Florence and I want you to see everything!" he asserted. "I'm just happy to be here with you."

Lucy certainly could not argue with such a sweetly unselfish declaration. Therefore, they consulted her old battered guidebook and visited each of the locations that she had longingly circled in it when the trip was still an unlikely fantasy.

...

One such outing took them to the Accademia Gallery, where...after snapping the obligatory photo of Michelangelo's David...Jack mimicked the pose of the famous statue for his wife.

"What d'ya think?" he asked as he flexed his denim-clad muscles in overexaggerated imitation.

"Very impressive!" Lucy declared vehemently...even as she also attempted to hide her giggles behind the sleeves of her oversized sweater.

Even in fashion-forward Italy, both of them still preferred to dress casually for comfort and function over grand European style. It was just one of the many things they loved about each other. Good humor and laughter were obviously high on the list, as well, as they continued to demonstrate.

"Aren't you supposed to be naked, though?" Lucy deadpanned.

"Well...I wouldn't want to give him an inferiority complex," Jack replied just as seriously.

They both immediately caved, however, and their joyful laughter echoed throughout the high chamber as the affectionate couple exited together on their way to cross off another item on Lucy's list.
