Doctor's office…

DC…

Colby sighed in frustration, as he was waiting for new test results, as he wanted to get home and get some sleep, as his coughing had returned and he just wanted to see if it was just a temporary thing.

For the past few months, the coughing seemed to have almost completely stopped but in the last three weeks it seemed to have returned in near vengeance.

'It's just my luck.' Colby thought to himself

His current team was being as helpful as possible but there was only so much they would be able to do, as they weren't there when it happened, though he was grateful that Liz was around for a while on assignment, as he was just grateful to have a friend, even if it was someone that he didn't particularly know well.

That once again made him think about David, as he wondered if he should try to talk to him again, as maybe enough time has passed that they could have some kind of conversation about Janus and the freighter but he didn't know how to even start that conversation.

His thoughts were interrupted when his doctor, Dr. Kepler came into the room, with a stone face, so Colby had no idea what the news could be, good or bad.

"What's the verdict, doc?" Colby asked nervously

"Well, both of your lungs are scarred, but the good news is that it's not serious enough to be life-threatening, but we will have to keep an eye on them." Kepler began.

"Oh." Colby wasn't entirely surprised due to all the coughing, but it still stung when you have a job, even with the promotion, which required some heavy exercise, which would cause some problems.

"Unfortunately, there is also an issue with your liver." Kepler said

"Is it seriously damaged or is it manageable?" Colby said, dreading what it could mean for his job and life down the line.

"It's manageable, for now, but I won't lie to you there could be some serious complications down the line and we might have to do a possible organ transplant." Kepler told the agent.

This shocked Colby, as he knew that the chemicals injected into him would cause some problems but he never would have imagined that it would lead to possible transplant.

"How am I now?" Colby asked nervously, as he wanted time to figure things out just in case a transplant was needed.

"Overall, I say you are fine but again I have to be honest, like I said before, we have to keep an eye on it and you might need to make some changes to lower your chances of having to do any kind of transplant in the future." Kepler finished

"Ok." Was all Colby could say at first, he was processing everything that has been told to him before he could say anything else.

"Before we go any further, mind if we bring in my supervisor so that it can help with my options?" Colby asked, as he knew it was something he needed to share with his bosses.

"Sure, call him and we can meet as soon as possible to have a better idea of how to deal with this issue." Kepler agreed

As Colby left, intending to make the phone call, he briefly wondered if he should call his former teammates, including David, but decided to wait until after the follow-up appointment, so he would be better able to explain things to them.

'I just hope things will work out.' Colby thought to himself
