Few minutes later..

"Call him now David, so he can be prepared to meet with you and it will make things easier, plus you owe him a call, to say the least." Don said before excusing himself to check on Alan's cooking and to check on Robin.

The last part stung but David knew he was right, as he owed Colby at least that much and to try to get things started again between them.

After hesitating after a minute, he dialed his cell phone, half hoping it wouldn't go to voicemail, half hoping it would so that he won't get hung up on by Colby.

After a couple rings, he heard a hesitating "Hello?"

"Huh, hey Colby it's me." David said, preparing himself for a talk that might end in screaming or being hung up on.

"David?" Colby said in surprise, as he was surprised to see David's name on the ID and wondered what he wanted to even talk about but decided to listen

"Yeah, look I'm coming to DC to meet with you to discuss… what has been going on between us… since… you know…" David said before trailing off, trying to think of what more to say

"Sure…We can meet at one of the restaurants here, or something… if you want." Colby said, as he was just… surprised… that David would have even called him after all these months but he figured that maybe this would help make things better between them.

"How about a local burger place for lunch?" David asked a little too quickly

"Sure, let me know when you are flying in and we can talk then." Colby said, hoping that this wasn't too good to be true.

"OK and you can also talk to me about how things are going in DC." David said

Colby internally sighed, as he was afraid David was going to say that because he wanted to tell him about his health and hoped that David would believe him this time.

"Sure, I have a lot to talk about." Colby said, knowing that the cat will be out of the bag soon.

"Okay, I'll let you know when I'll be flying in." David said before he and Colby exchanged awkward goodbyes and hung up.

David turned to see Don standing there, looking amazed that the two managed to talk in months.

"How long have you been standing there?" David asked

"Long enough to know that you better book that flight right now, so that you guys can work this out." Don said as he knew that these two needed to work this out, as they, namely Daivd, had put this up long enough.

"Sure, Don, just help me find the next flight to DC." David agreed, as he is also hoping there aren't any delays in any flight, so this doesn't get any further prolonged as it already was.

"Just make sure things go as smoothly as possible." Don said as he led David to the computer to book the flight.
