I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a room with stairs leading up to outside. I ignored the steps and took a good look of my surroundings. I was sitting on a table. There was another table in the center of the room. There was a small person hanging up some paper chains on the walls.
Where am I? I rubbed my eyes. I felt pretty tired.
"Hey there, Olly!" The person said, stepping off the stool he was using to hang up the decorations.
Is Olly my name? It must be. I felt like I finally woke up, at least.
"Hey, you must be Olly! Nice to see you!" Another person said, smiling. He looked to be around sixteen at least, and had short, green, curly hair, the bottom half of it being covered with shadows. I didn't tell him this, but he looked pretty plain.
I said nothing while I examined him. He was wearing a white short sleeved shirt that read "shirt" in Japanese symbols, a pair of black shorts, and red boots. Did he live here? How does he know me? Who are these people? Those questions popped into my mind right then.
"I don't want to seem odd but...do I...know you?" I asked.
The plain kid smiled. "Nope! But I hope we get to know each other better over time!"
"What's your name?"
"I'm Izuku Midoriya!" He intoduced. "Some people call me Deku though. I wouldn't mind if you called me that, if it's easier for you to remember." Midoriya pointed at the other person in the room. "And he's the Origami Craftsman. He folded you to life."
"...Folded?"
Midoriya nodded. "You're Origami!"
"Then how am I alive...?"
"That's for you to ask your father over there!"
I looked at him. He was still happily hanging up the paper chain streamers. He was a short man with short fern green hair put up in a small ponytail by what looked like a white ribbon with green spots on it. He was wearing a cerulian blue shirt with a light brown apron and dark brown shoes. If he was my father, he did give me life?
I stood and walked over to him. "Um..."
"Hey Olly! What's the issue? Do you dislike the way you look? I can always refold you!"
"Well...no. It's not that...um..."
He smiled at me. He was so nice.
"How am I...alive? Midoriya said I was folded and then you said I was folded and..."
"Oho! That's because the Fold of Life ability! If you put enough feeling and your love of Origami into your creation, it'll come to life!" He hopped off the stool. He was shorter than me by a lot...and I was pretty short already. "Not everybody can use it though, and it took me years of practice!"
I walked over to the mirror. I had dirty blonde hair styled to block off my left eye. I was wearing a tuexido in a dark blue color with white on the bottom of the shirt and the coat tails. The sleeves were light grey along with the gloves I was wearing. I moved closer to see that my eyes were a dark grey, almost black. I didn't look folded...I looked human...almost. My head was shaped like a square and my eyes looked like they were drawn onto my face. Midoriya was not only a lot taller than me, but he looked more normal.
"The reason you look like that is probably because of your Quirk-" Father covered Midoriya's mouth before he got to finish.
"We don't talk about that, Deku."
"Sorry, Origami Craftsman..."
"You don't talk about what? What's a Quirk?" I asked. I don't think they knew I was listening. "Please tell me..."
"Maybe later." The Origami Craftsman said. "Why don't you go explore for a bit? There's a boat waiting that could take you off the island. Just tell the driver that you want to go to Toad Town and he should take you there."
I bowed. "Alright. Thank you."
