The Toad came back to find me sitting by the table with his creation. He poked me awake, as I had fallen asleep waiting for his return.
"Hey, Origami!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. "It's time! You wanted to see it, right?"
I nodded. "Why do you call me Origami?"
"I don't know your name!" He grabbed the sheet.
"Well my name is..." If I told him, they'll all recognise me as the evil person I used to be.
"Ladies and gentletoads!" He announced. "Behold, the center piece for this year's Origami Festival!"
He yanked the sheet off, revealing an exact replica of the Mushroom Kingdom, including Shangri Spa, Diamond Island, Hotfoot Volcano, and King Bowser's castle. The surrounding Toads applauded, making the red Toad very proud of his work. I was in shock as well. He grabbed a rope and pulled it, causing a small Origami castle to pop out the top of the volcano. The applause grew louder, and the Toad looked like any more would've torn him into confetti.
"The Mushroom Kingdom created completely out of Origami!"
"Wow!"
"Completely?"
"Just paper?"
Toad nodded. "Yup! No glue, tape, or any other materials were used. This is one hundred percent paper!"
"WOW!"
Toadsworth and the Princess came over, as the applause had caught their attention.
"Oh! What's this?" The Princess asked.
"Your Kingdom and the bordering nations, your majesty." Toad said.
"It's really well done!" She noticed me. "Oh?"
I bowed. "Your majesty. It is a pleasure to meet you again."
"Oh? Who are you?"
I took a deep breath. I could no longer hide the truth. I refolded myself into the smaller version of me everybody would recognize.
"My name is King Olly, Princess Peach." I introduced, bowing one last time.
Princess Peach gasped lightly. Toad stood out in front of her as protection, Toadsworth doing the same, and the other Toads backing off a couple of steps. The cranes were floating near me.
"I apologize, Princess. I feel like we met a pretty terrible way previously, hm?"
"What do you want with us?" Toad asked.
"Awfully pathetic of you, Toad. The Toad I had met would be friends with somebody; no matter who they were or what their appearance looked like."
A couple of the Royal Guards came over. "Back off from the Princess, villain!"
"Hey, hold on!" I held up my hands. "I have nothing to do with her, just Origami; that is all."
Toadsworth spotted the Cranesman and the others. "You wouldn't. Not again."
"Well, well, well. Aren't you all the judgey type! Just because I have cranes does not mean I would do that again, now does it?"
"That's why you asked about the Origami! You didn't care about it, you wanted the paper for your crane-wish-thing!"
"It is called the Thousand Crane wish. And yes, but you are also wrong." I straightened my crown. "I am very amazed by your skill, Toad. Only I have been known with that level of skill, so seeing that this is made for paper completely..." I spun a little flag up top the roof of the miniature Mushroom Kingdom castle. "It is quite impressive."
"I don't believe you."
"And that is one hundred and fifty two percent understandable! I wouldn't trust myself if I were you either!"
Princess Peach walked over to me. "Hello, King Olly. You aren't here because you want revenge?"
I shook my head. "And I apologize for folding you as well, Princess. Even flat, your beauty will never vanish."
"O-oh!" Her face turned a bright red. "Thank you!"
"Of course, Princess."
"Why are you here, then?" Toadsworth asked.
I looked at the Origami Cranesman. "I was planning on bringing somebody special to my sister back from death. I want to make her happy, as I'm trying to be a better brother."
"Aww." The Toads said.
"Do not do that sound around me!" I cleared my throat. "Sorry, that wasn't very nice of me..."
Toad walked over to me as well. "So, you need my creation to bring back somebody special, huh? I'm willing to do that!"
"How many sheets of paper did this take to create?"
"Around nine hundred...eighty nine."
I ficked my bangs so I could eximine it. "Still too little." I sighed. "Why is this taking so long?"
Princess Peach held up some blank sheets of paper. "Here, take these."
There was ten. "We're one off." I sighed. "Olivia...I'm sorry."
"There's gotta be more!" Toad said.
"There is no need." I told them.
"Wh-what?"
"I will fold myself into the final crane. For Olivia."
