Leah POV

I looked at my watch to see the time "9:30". I walked into the Knights office building with plenty of portfolios of all the suspects Logan asked me to dig up from the Westworth factory. I know what happened, I'm always informed of what happened but not given very much detail.

I was always interested to go into the field, just to see what went down. But my job attached me to this building. When the Knights aren't here, they intrust me to watch over everything, not a single thing goes out of place.

Not on my watch.

I focus on my work, with very little time off due to the environment of the business, I kind of like it that way. Before I worked here, I didn't have much. Made a living on pay check after pay check in a dingy apartment space. Now with the salary I do make, I have the home of my dreams and the bliss of not having to worry about rent. It's been a few years. Like everyone, I started off as applying for the factory work, just to get a little more money in my pocket, but I think the Knights saw something different in me.

Leah walked in, an application in her hand walking into the big office of the Knights. A little shaky, she walked up to the front desk to the receptionist.

"Hello, I'm here to apply for the open factory position.", she said sweetly.

"Oh I'm sorry, we just hired our last factory position yesterday morning. I apologize.", the man said sincerely.

Leah's heart dropped, this was her last chance of getting a stable job until her savings started to give out. She didn't know what she was going to do now.

"Is there anything I could apply for here that's available?", she asked beggingly.

"Mr.Hert, could you call Mr.Diamond and tell him to come to my office please?", Leah turned around, her body froze to see Mr.Knight and Logan standing right next to her.

Kendall looked down at Leah, turning his head to the side. "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you were there.", he turned, putting his hand out. "Kendall Knight, pleasure to meet you, and this is my husband, Logan.", he said, moving out of the way to let Logan shake her hand.

"Hello.", Leah spoke.

"Is that an application?", Logan asked.

"Yes, but I was informed you weren't hiring in the factory unit anymore. I really appreciate the opportunity to meeting the both you, sir.", Leah said.

Kendall softly grabbed the application, reading through it. Leah swallowed a lump in her throat. He looked back his husband with a smile, handing the application over to him. Logan took long glance and smile, nodding towards Kendall.

"How about you show up to our office tomorrow morning? We can go over your credentials and the schedule for the day.", he said, handing the application back to her.

"I-- credentials?", she asked.

"Well if you're going to be our assistant you have to know what's going on around here don't you?", Logan smiled.

Leah grew overwhelmed, she was just hired and by the owners themselves.

"I--Thank you. Thank you so much.", she let out, avoiding the tears she desperately wanted to let fall.

"See you tomorrow Leah.", Kendall smiled, walking away with Logan.

Leah looked back at a slightly shocked Mr.Hert. "Congratulations ma'am, the only advice I would give, maybe think of getting a new fashion sense, black blazer were such a 90s thing.", he said, looking back at the phone, picking it up to make a call.

Leah looked down at her out, he wasn't wrong.

I smiled at the thought, stepping into in front of the elevator fixing the creases on my deep red jumpsuit, matched with my red heels, my hair up in its usual messy bun. The doors swung open with a ding, looking forward I noticed Willow standing there, they gave me a smile, making my stomach flutter.

"Good morning.", they spoke softly.

I held back from cooing to the sound of their voice, I gave a quick good morning back before the elevator doors closing in front of us.

"How was the mission?", I asked.

"Successful, but we still don't know who sent them in.", they spoke.

I bit my lip, both of us still looking at the elevator doors as it went up to the 3rd floor.

"And the Knights are safe?", I asked.

"Yes, both of them did most of the work, I was actually surprised at how Logan handled it.", they smirked.

"And you?", I asked.

They looked back at me, I giving the same look. "Well I'm here aren't I?", they giggled.

"It doesn't hurt to ask. Hey, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I was running late and I didn't have much time to give you an answer I--"

"It's alright, you're a busy woman.", they sighed.

I felt bad. I know they were trying to ask me out, but I'm not even sure I have the ability to promise them a date. I don't really have days off and I don't plan on asking for one, we have too much work to do. The doors swung open on my floor.

"Thank you.", I said walking out.

"Leah?", I turned towards them. "I'll see you around?", they asked. I have a smile with a little nod. The door closed back.

I turned walking towards the Knights office, opening the door, I placed all of the portfolios on the desk. I looked at my phone again. They should be here at 10, so I have time to get coffee. I walked over to the door, locking it behind me and walking over to the break room, opening the door, I see Mr.Knight and Logan speaking to one another with coffee cups in their hands.

"Oh, good morning, I didn't realize you both were here so early..", I spoke, they both looked at me with a smile.

"We had an early morning debriefing with Willow about last night, speaking about what our next move will be.", Kendall said.

"Here.", Logan handed me a full mug of fresh coffee.

"Thank you.", I said, taking a sip.

"The portfolios are in the office yes?", Kendal asked.

"Yes, I locked the door behind me, they should be on the desk.", I said, enjoying the brew.

"Leah?", Kendall said out loud.

"Yes sir?", I spoke.

"Call him Kendall, we wanted to speak to you.", Logan said.

My stomach dropped.

"Am I getting fired? Did I do something?", I began to ask frantically.

Logan let out a little chuckle.

"No, no we just wanted to talk to you. You've been in our business for a long time and we realized the loyalty you have and that we've been ignoring it for too long.", Kendall said.

"The business is important and I want to keep helping this place grow.", I explained.

"But what about you?", Logan asked. "Me and my husband have a life outside of this place. Our devotion is there and it will never go away but we give ourselves a break once and a while. You don't.", Logan explained.

"What do you do when you're not here?", Kendall said.

I thought about it. After my shift, I usually go home, eat dinner, drink a bit of wine, take a shower, looking over tomorrow credentials and before I know it, I wake up the next day to my alarm. "I usually just eat dinner and go to bed. But it's okay, it's how I like it.", I smiled.

They sit at the table, making me sit along with them.

"Well, Carlos and James are having us over for dinner at their house, and Carlos specifically asked if you could join us.", Logan shrugged.

"Oh okay, will we be going over next week's schedule, do they need anything from me?", I asked.

"No.", I gave a confused look. "We want you to join us, just a lovely dinner with some friends.", Kendall said.

"We're friends?", I asked.

"Well, we can be. You've been in our lives for 4 years now, we want to get to know you a little better.", Logan smiled.

Why do I feel like this is some kind of trick?

"I-I mean sure. I wouldn't mind.", I smiled politely.

"Great, so after we finish for the day, go home, change into something nice and we'll meet you there. I'll text you the information you need.", Logan smiled.

This was weird.

"Okay, thank you sir.", I said.

They quickly got up, leaving the room with only me left. I've never been invited to anything. I've never had friends in my adult life, it's always just been me.

Now my bosses, want to be friends?

I feel like this has to be against some rule or something. But I still couldn't shake that something was going on with all of this.

The day was over and I went back home. I took a quick shower and began picking out something new to wear. A pair of bell bottom black slacks, a golden cropped, long sleeve shirt and black heels with a golden chain wrapped around my ankles. I placed my hair in a half up, half down style and small gold hoop earrings.

I hope this wasn't too much.

I heard my phone ding, seeing the anticipated text from Logan.

I immediately grabbed my bag with all my essentials and walked to my car. The drive wasn't too long, 20 minutes out but it felt like forever. My stomach was turning.

I parked the car, stunned at the size of the Diamonds estate. My home isn't even half the size. I walked up to the door, ringing the door bell. A few minutes later, the door swings open to see a cheery Carlos, a smile growing on his face. "Leah! You came!", he smiled, he went in for a hug, which I took hesitantly but with a smile.

"Hello Carlos, thank you for inviting me.", I chuckled out, sinking into his hug.

"Leah.", my heart stopped, looking around Carlos I saw Willow. Standing with a drink in their hand standing next to Kendall and Logan. A smile grew on their face. They weren't in their usual uniform for work. A professional masculine fit wrapped their body. They looked good.

Really fucking good.

"Hi."

It was all I could utter out in front of everyone. Kendall and Logan looked at me with devious smiles.

So this is what they were planning...

"Come in please, we're about to start eating. James is making a mean pot roast.", Carlos said walking me in.

"Oh I feel terrible, I didn't bring anything."

"No need, Willow brought something for everyone.", Kendall said, James came out with red Portillo bottle.

I walked in, closer to James, giving him a Cuban kiss.

"Portillo. It's one of my favorites.", I said, looking back at Willow, who was still looking at me with a smile.

"Then let me get you a glass. Dinner should be ready in a few more minutes, please get comfortable in the living room with everyone else.", James smiled.

I thanked him, walking over to the living room where everyone was sitting.

"You know I've always known you had great style, but you look beautiful.", Logan smiled, going in for a hug.

"Thank you Logan.", I giggled, giving a hug back. "Hello sir.", looking up at Kendall.

"Please, outside of work, call my Kendall.", he said, giving a Cuban kiss.

Last was Willow, even with my heels I had to look up at them. They were really close.

"Hey.", I smiled.

"Hey Leah.", they smiled. "You look amazing.", they said, slowly grabbing my hand and kissing it softly.

Wow.

"T-thank you.", I stuttered out.

We heard someone clear their throat, we turned to see James giving each of us a glass full a third of wine.

We thanked him and looked back at one another, Willow tipped the glass to give a toast. I softly touched their glass, not taking our eyes off of each other.

Wait-- wait.

"Uh, give me one moment. Logan. Could I talk to you outside?", I asked, looking back at my boss.

"Of course.", he smiled, we walked towards the backyard. "Carlos.", he whispered, making Carlos quickly walk over with us.

The back door was opened all of us walking outside before Carlos closed the door behind us.

"What did you guys do?", I asked.

"What are you talking about?", Logan asked with a smile.

"You knew they were coming and specifically took that part out. I knew you were up to something.", I said.

"Hey this wasn't my idea.", Carlos said.

"Neither was I, we just agreed that it would be a good way to separate yourself from work and actually talk to them.", Logan.

"What? Then who?", I asked, they both looked back inside, both looking at Kendall who was laughing with James and Willow about something. "Kendall?", I said.

"You might know him as your boss, but he's always been a super romantic guy.", Logan smiled. I could hear the confidence in his voice.

"So this was just a plan to have me hang out with Willow?", I asked.

"No, of course we still want to get to know you, that was just a plus to making this plan.", Carlos smiled, taking a sip of the wine.

"You guys are fucking crazy. What am I supposed to say to them? I can barely focus on my own work when they're around. Now I have to talk to them?!", I squealed.

" so you admit that you like them?", Logan smiled.

Okay I'm going to be honest. I've liked Willow since they were hired a few months ago. I tried to keep it professionally until I started catching them staring at me too.

"Well-", I said, Logan and Carlos giggled.

"Okay so you both like each other, why haven't y'all gone out?", Carlos asked.

"I don't have the time. As nice as it would be, work comes first. And what if something happens and then I have to see them all the time.", I said.

"Carlos and I are the perfect examples of dating in the work space.", Logan said.

"This is different. You guys were made for each other, your love came before your business and that's just one of the things that holds you guys together.", I explained.

"Don't you wish you could finally be with someone you know likes you back?", Carlos asked.

I looked back inside, looking at Willow who was still talking to James and Kendall.

"They like me back?", I asked.

"They're here aren't they?", Logan asked.

I sighed, taking a sip from my wine. I just hope it goes well.

The night continued and everything was going well, we had just finished dinner and the whole night we just spoke to one another. I found out a lot of things about the guys and Willow. We sat in the living room, continuing our conversation.

"I got this one a few years ago. It's for my older brother.", Willow said, pointing at the peace sign fingers tattooed on their arm. I grazed it slowly.

"You have siblings?", I asked.

"Yeah two, I try and see them a few times a month. He was in the military and the oldest of both of us died a few years back.", they said.

"I'm sorry about your loss.", I said softly, my fingers still on their arm.

"It alright, I didn't know him well but my dad talks about him constantly.", they shrugged.

We looked at each other for a while, the room light glistening in their hazel eyes.

"Guys!", we both looked to see everyone looking at us with a smile. "You wanna smoke? We brought some..", Logan smiled, holding two blunts in his hand.

"You know I won't deny a sesh.", Willow smiled, Logan got up, going to grab a lighter from the from door.

"Kendall, James and I will be back with some snacks.", Carlos insisted, grabbing both men and walking to the kitchen.

Leaving just Willow and I.

"You smoke too?", they asked.

"A little, I'm a social smoker.", I shrugged.

Willow smiled. "It's really good seeing you outside of work. It gives me a chance to really get to know you. Finding new things I like about you.", they blurted out.

I was a little taken a back. "I-I really enjoy your company too Willow.", I said.

"Maybe we could do again next time.? You know, alone?", they giggled.

I was hesitant on saying yes, this was really the only free day I had, I had no chance of getting another one off like this, for just us.

"I would love to Willow.", their face lit up. "But--", their face slowly dropped.

"You have to put your job first.", they said.

"I-I'm sorry. If I could, I would. I just don't have the time. When I get the chance, you'll be the first person I call.", I said. I softly held their face, making them look at me. "I promise.", I whispered.

They looked at me, I could feel myself lean in a little. The space between us getting closer and closer.

The guys laughter disrupted us, making us pull away from each other. Kendall, James and Carlos all came back with variety of snacks in their hand.

"I can't imagine you high Leah.", Kendall said.

"We've all seen Willow-- I will never forget that day.", James chuckled.

I looked back at Willow shocked. "You've smoked with them before?", I asked.

"Every Friday.", they smiled.

"And what, no invite?", I asked jokingly.

"We weren't sure.", Carlos chuckled.

Logan walked back quickly, about to take the light, I looked to see a red laser pointing at his shoulder.

My stomach dropped.
