Kendall POV
"Logan get down NOW!", Leah yelled out.
The room began to ring with with sound of cross fire. We all laid on the ground. I crawled over to Logan who thank god was alright.
Light bulbs blew out, glass began to shatter and feathers from the pillows began to fall to the ground.
I held onto Logan tightly.
The shooting stopped. The room was quiet, we all cautiously got up, seeing the room in shambles.
I looked around, James and Carlos held each other close, checking for injuries.
Leah and Willow still holding each other, a few tears falling from Leah's eyes.
I looked back at Logan, he stood out of breath, wiping his pants and shirt.
"Are you okay babe?", I asked.
He nodded.
He walked over to Leah and Willow.
"You okay?", he asked Leah. She nodded, he went to give her a hug. "You just saved my life, thank you.", he said, squeezing her tightly as she hugged him back, tears still falling from her eyes.
I pulled out the gun from my holster, James and Carlos doing the same.
I walked towards the front door, slowly checking out the window. I saw nothing. I went for the front door, looking back a James and Carlos for confirmation. I opened the door pointing the gun out to the air. I looked down to see a note at the door, a military dog tag on the letter.
I read the letter.
'This is just the beginning.'
"It says it's just the beginning and there's a dog tag.", I said.
Logan walked up. "That was on the kid I handled yesterday.", he took it, flipping it to see the dried blood on the back. "They killed him.", Logan whispered.
"That means they killed all of them.", I said.
I looked at James and Carlos. "What's fucking next?"
"They knows where we live, where we all live!", James said angrily.
"And they want us to find them.", I said.
"With what clues? They didn't leave much.", Willow said.
"Then we keep looking..", I said.
Dropping the note.
These people came after my family.
This means war.
The night was quiet after. Leah and Willow went home. I was upstairs in James' office along with Logan and Carlos. Carlos sat quietly on the love chair and Logan sat next to him on the edge.
James typed frantically on his laptop while I had the phone to my ear.
"The team hasn't seen anything in the last hour.", I said, my frustration leaving my throat.
"I haven't gotten anything either.", James sighed.
I ran my fingers through my hair with a deep sigh. Nothing. We still nothing to find out who this bastard was. We heard the clean up team shuffling to clean the living room.
I looked back at Logan who was still looking down at the ground.
I leaned on the office table, dropping my head.
I was supposed to be the brains of this room, why is nothing working?
"Carlos..", I heard James, I looked over at him who was still a bit shaken, his leg bouncing vigorously.
"They got so close. We've never had anyone get this close. Over drugs? We haven't done anything..", he said.
"Carlos-"
"No!", his voice boomed. "You're gonna tell me this is what's expected of us working in this shit? We had a few assholes at most rip off a product or even just spoke bad on our name, all taken care of. But this is extreme. Logan almost died-- your husband! Almost died!", he yelled.
Logan's face went a little pale, I could hear my heart beat all over my body.
"How are you not effected by this?! Why does this not freak you guys out?", he asked.
I looked at James, he looked at his husband in a bit of fear. The fear of telling him the truth. Something we both know about.
Carlos stared at James, his eyes widening slowly. His realization was starting to dawn on him.
"You knew about this?", he asked quietly.
James swallowed the lump in his throat.
"You-you knew!", Carlos gritted, quickly walking up to James and punching him in the face. James fell back from his chair, grimaced at the pain.
"Carlos-Carlos!", I said, pushing him back to make sure he doesn't hit again.
"How could you keep this from me?! From US!?", he shouted.
James spat the little blood coming out of his mouth. "We put people lives on the line James! Our HOME! Get off of me!", he shouted, pushing me away from him. He stared angrily at his husband who looked at Carlos in defeat.
"Look Carlos--"
"And you? You knew too!?", he asked. I stopped.
"Kendall?", Logan said, standing up from his spot in disbelief.
"He wanted to do it to protect you, he didn't want to tell you till we found out who it was.", I explained.
"Excuse me?", Carlos said.
"When did we start keeping secrets from each other?", Logan said, his anger rising along with his best friend's.
"Babe--"
"I asked him to. I didn't want you to tell Carlos until we find out.", James explained.
"You realized we almost died because of your ignorance?!", Logan yelled at him.
"We had Willow and Leah in the fucking house! What would we have done if one of them was hurt, Leah is scarred! She almost watched her boss die!", Carlos yelled.
"Logan, please.", I said, kneeling down next to James.
He stopped talking, his arms crossed in front of his chest.
Carlos scoffed. "I'm going to bed.", he looked at James who looked back in shame. "I'm sleeping in the guest room.", he said, walking out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
James sighed out, wiping his eyes so his tears wouldn't fall anymore. I looked back at Logan. His anger simmered on his face.
"I-", he scoffed. He walked out of the office, closing the door.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to make either of them upset at you.", James apologized.
"It's fine-- I'm just gonna to give him his space.", I said.
James picked himself up. "I'm gonna check on the clean up.", he whispered, leaving the room in shame.
There I stood alone. I knew this was a bad idea.
