"You're sure you don't mind? You don't have to do this if you don't want to." Rivet asked, clearly unsure.

"Riv, you can't just tell me you're having trouble sleeping and expect me not to do anything." He said and pulled her along towards his bedroom. She wasn't fighting against him, just making it so her steps were driven by him. After a long talk where he had asked about why she seemed to have so much less energy than usual. She opened up and admitted that she'd been having trouble sleeping after they had defeated the emperor. She explained that for years she had slept with one eye open, and now that she didn't have to it felt… strange. Off somehow.

He immediately made clear he'd be having none of that and offered to sleep in the same bed as her for the night.

They had been dating for a few months now and had done… things together, but they'd never spent the night in the same bed, so that suddenly being sprung on her was scrambling her brain a bit. Soon enough though they were in the doorway of the bedroom.

It was a mess, clothes and small parts everywhere surrounding a king sized bed.

"I'll leave it up to you then." Ratchet said, moving his hand from her elbow to entwine his fingers in hers. "I want to spend the night in bed cuddling with and sleeping next to my girlfriend. What do you want?"

If she heard him she didn't acknowledge it. She stumbled forward, a tired half step.

Rivet's vision tunneled, focused on nothing but the bed and the smell that hit her nose. It was him, concentrated in a way that could only come from years of living in a place. The comfort and warmth filled her to the brim, telling her she was safe. Her muscles relaxed and her eyelids got heavy, with her hand slipping from Ratchet's while she took slow half steps. She paid no attention to the clothing and parts she scattered with her steps while she shuffled towards her end goal.

The bed.

She reached it and collapsed, her head landing in the vague area of a pillow. Her thump kicked up a fresh wave or Ratchet brand cologne that amplified what she was already feeling a dozen times over, knocking her out cold in a matter of moments.

Ratchet was left standing in the doorway smiling at the slight and quiet noises of her breathing. He carefully shut the door, lost his shoes and crawled in next to her. As soon as he was there she latched onto him and pulled herself in close, nuzzling into him. She murmured to herself in her sleep while he was content to just lie there with her for a while.

He moved his hand in slow circles on her back while his other played with her fingers. She murmured again and pushed her face into his neck, signaling to him that it was time for him to join her.

So he pulled up the covers, gave her a kiss through the hair tuft and settled into sleep.
