Ratchet gripped the controls ever tighter with every light year closer he got to home. He couldn't help but be nervous, this being the longest he's ever left Rivet alone since finding out she was pregnant and she'd been radio silent for days now. Anxious thoughts swirled and churned through his mind faster than the ship was taking him to their source.

After agonizing minutes Veldin came into his view, and soon after that the Kyzil plateau with their home in its heart. Aphelion landed and he hopped out before she'd even settled, worry making his muscles move before his brain could process it. He dashed inside.

"Rivet!? Honey!?" He called out into the garage. "Where are you!?"

"Ratchet!? Is that you?" He heard her singsong voice call from where their bedroom was. He ran towards it, leaping over spare parts and mechanical bits to get there. Throwing the door open he was greeted with an empty room.

"Baby?" He asked again.

"I'm in the bathroom. Apparently one of the side effects is vomiting now. Either that or I caught something." He drifted closer to the almost shut door of their bathroom with trepidation as he heard her dry heave.

"That why you haven't picked up my calls?" He asked.

"That and I can't find the charger for my communicator. Sorry." She heaved again after her apology, following it up with very unpleasant sounds and a toilet flush.

"It's ok, I'm just glad you're alright." Another heave. "Mostly alright. Can I get you anything?"

"Some water to gargle please?"

He obliged and went into the kitchen to retrieve just that. He stopped outside the door again and announced that he'd be coming in.

He found his lovely girlfriend curled up next to the toilet, cradling both it and her swelling belly as she groaned. She was in her usual house clothes, being a loose tank top and shorts that she loved because they showed off her legs in a way that captivated him.

And they did a good job of that right then, but not for the usual reason. Right now he was just staring at her, dumbfounded. "I think we should take you to the doctor."

"Why? It's just some vomiting, your dad told us to expect that." She looked at him confused.

"Yeah. But…" He reached with his free hand and grabbed a mirror, turning it towards her. "We weren't expecting this."

She looked in the mirror and saw what he did. Her once white fur had become a palid and sickly shade of green while her stripes became bright burning red. Combined they made her look like a drunk holiday decoration cradling a toilet for dear life.

"... Ok, let's go see the doctor."

Bonus!

Ratchet sat on the floor of their bathroom next to the love of his life as she experienced what could be called a low moment. He stroked her back with long smooth movements, reminding her he was there no matter what as the contents of her stomach made a new home for themselves in the plumbing.

Pregnancy wasn't turning out as glamorous as either had expected it to be, but still…

There was nowhere else he'd rather be
