Chapter One: Run Ins

"Yes mom. I'm nearly home. Just taking a scenic route is all." Alexis says as she is walking through the woods while talking to her mom on her phone.

"Okay dear well hurry up. I don't want you to be late for lunch. We're having family over and I want you here for it. Then you can go back out and play." Alexis's adoptive mother says.

"I know mom. I'll see you soon." Alexis says as she hangs up the call.

"Halt!" A voice says making Alexis stop and see two Acorn Knights.

"Who goes there?" The other knight says.

"Oh great. These guys. I didn't realize I was this close to the other side. Shoot." Alexis thinks worriedly.

"We asked who you were! Speak now!" One of the knights ask sternly.

"I'm just a simple passerby. I only want to get to my mom. The usual route I take is being worked on today by some adults. I promise I'm leaving." Alexis says nervously.

"You were still asked a question. Now who are you?" The other knight asks.

"If I tell you my name will you let pass by?" Alexis asks.

"We'll see now tell us your name." One of the knights saysm

"They clearly aren't gonna let me pass. I gotta think of something quick." Alexis thinks before she bolts.

"Hey get back here!" The other knight shouts as he and the other knight chase Alexis.

"Not a chance! Oh man. Where are the guys when I need them?" Alexis thinks worriedly.

"Stop!" The knight shouts

"Gotta hide. Gotta hide. Whoa!" Alexis says worriedly before someone grabs her and pulls her into a bush.

"Shh." A voice says revealing to be the Honey Suckle Rangers as Alexis gives a worried look.

"Where'd she go?" The knight asks as he and the other knight look for Alexis.

"Um who are you looking for?" One of the rangers asks as he and the other go over to the knights.

"You two have you seen a blonde girl run by here?" A knight asks.

"Can't say we have." The other ranger says as he and the other ranger talk to the annoyed knights.

"Alright enough. Come on. Let's go." The knight says as he and the other knight leave.

"You can come out now." The brown haired ranger says.

"They're gone." The blonde ranger says as Alexis comes out of the bushes.

"You helped me. Why?" Alexis asks.

"We'll we know you're friends with Craig. Besides we saw you needed help. So we helped you." The blonde haired ranger says.

"If this is to get Craig's map again-" Alexis then gets cut off by the brown haired ranger.

"We promise it's not." The brown haired ranger says.

"You're really just helping me to help me?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Of course. We don't wanna follow the King's rules anymore." The blonde ranger says as he and the other ranger smile.

"Huh. Not what I was expecting." Alexis says.

"What are you doing here? You'll get caught. You need to leave now." The blonde ranger says.

"Trust me I know. I didn't know I was this close to the other side. But my usual route home is blocked. I don't know what else to do." Alexis says.

"Well we can help there. We play over here so we know all kinds of routes." The brown haired ranger says.

"Thank you. That's really nice." Alexis says in surprise.

"You're welcome. Now come with us quickly. I'm sure you don't want Maya or someone else finding you." The blonde ranger says

"Not in the slightest. By the way who are you two anyway? Never did catch your names." Alexis says curiously.

"We'll I'm Raj and this is Shawn." The brown haired ranger says.

"Alexis. And thank you for helping me." Alexis says kindly.

"That's a really pretty name." Shawn says as Raj nods causing Alexis to blush slightly.

"Thanks. So you said you know some routes?" Alexis asks.

"Yep. Follow us." Raj says as be, Alexis and Shawn walk off.
