(Welcome, one and all to my first fanfic, Revved Up! It's a RWBY fanfic, and the general concept… will explain itself. Enjoy!)
It seemed like a good day for shopping. So I went shopping.
That night, I stopped by my favorite fuel store, Fueling Your Adventures, because it had car magazines.
I love car magazines.
I was reading an article about brake maintenance while listening to tunes by Loving Caliber on my DustPod, when I felt something against my head.
It was a gun, being held by a man with a sinister look in his eyes.
I heard an exasperated "Hands in the air!" come from him, so I assumed he had been there… for a while.
This guy… I thought to myself. This guy can't Motorize, can he?
Finally, I spoke up. "Are you… robbing me?"
"Yes!"
"...Oh."
And in that moment, I knew what I had to do. Before he could take action, I shut out all distractions, and the world felt still. I felt my brain become a motor, my skin become metal, my legs become wheels…
And I had become an open-motor hot rod, with a holograph of my human form in the driver's seat.
With the size of that store, and no-one else in the way, I had just enough leeway to run him through the window. And that I did. I probably killed him, but we'll never know.
The guy's boss, wanted criminal Roman Torchwick, ran out of the store, his cane/gun pointed directly at my windshield. A bullet through that would mean a bullet through my skull.
I had to make a run for it.
I drove around the city, looking for a parking ramp. Lucky for me, I found one.
Also lucky for me, Torchwick and his goons had chased me, using a Ford-brand van henchman as a getaway car.
All according to plan, I thought to myself.
Once we had reached the roof of the parking ramp, we did battle. I had a pair of sniper rifles attached to my headlights, which I made good use of. I was slow to fire, but could fire a long way.
After about 3 minutes of dodging Torchwick's incendiary shots from his rifle, the most ginormous plane I had ever seen began to rise behind him. Just from the size of the craft, I could tell this was an aircraft carrier plane- and a regular vehicle too.
As Torchwick began to escape he continued firing, and now he had the high ground.
Dammit, I thought to myself. I can't let him get away. Not like this.
But just as I continued that thought, I heard the sound of a Packard 12, coming up the ramp.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
It was Glynda Goodwitch, one of the greatest Huntresses ever!
Torchwick seemed to notice too, as he retreated into the plane, exclaiming, "Shit! We've got a Huntress!"
I thought it was over and done, but then the plane's rear opened, and a smaller fighter jet came out. I couldn't get a good look at it because it lifted into the air faster than I could get close, and even then, that wasn't a good idea.
As soon as the jet got high enough, I saw fire, falling from the sky. Glynda started firing her roof-mounted cannon straight up, so I joined her. We managed to hit the plane enough times that it retreated, flying past its larger friend at blazing speeds, the massive aircraft following closely behind.
I was getting ready to congratulate Glynda on our victory, but next thing I knew, I was in my human form, sitting on a chair, in a barely lit room.
"What were you thinking, young lady?" Glynda reprimanded. "Picking a fight with one of the most dangerous criminals in Vale, who can't even Motorize? What were you thinking?"
"I-"
I was cut off by the sight of an older man walking in the room. He wore a black coat over a green shirt, his messy white hair contrasting with Glynda's straight blonde locks.
Headmaster Ozpin.
"Hello. You must be Ruby Rose, correct?"
"And you're Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon."
"Glynda here has told me about you. I see potential in you; would you like to join the student body? There's always room for one more."
I could only nod.
Glynda sighed, but Ozpin smiled. The perfect couple, I thought.
"Very well," Ozpin acknowledged. "Wake up early and pack your things. Your plane leaves tomorrow."
I was so excited. This would only be the start of a great adventure throughout the whole of Remnant.
And besides, my sister was going there.
(And that ends Chapter 1 of Revved Up! Leave a good review, and I hope you enjoyed! Chapter two coming soon!)
