(Howdy folks, and welcome to Revved Up Chapter 9! More relaxation for you today, as well as focus on Weiss!)
(RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth. Otherwise it'd be called something like The Marvelous Adventures of Ruby Rose.)

I woke up, the sun resting on my face. I had the best dream last night. "Back to reality," I thought.
I fed Zwei, and he barked at me gratefully. I barked back, saying "You're welcome!"
Weiss had awoken before me. She was sipping some dark coffee. "...Hello, Ruby." she said, quietly.
"Hi, Weiss." I nodded back. "How did you sleep?"
"I had a very strange dream." she murmured. "I don't remember how it went, but… I woke up in a sweat."
"Sounds like a nightmare." I realized.
"I'm guessing it was." she nodded. "I've been having a lot of bad dreams lately, and all I can remember is… a flower was there. This white flower, watching me." she said slowly, as if only now had she made the connection.
"I've heard of things like those." I gasped. "It may be a Grimm called the Nightmare, which invades the dreams of humans with a troubled past. Once it enters your dreams, it invades your thoughts and controls your body." I explained. "And also, it usually manifests as a white flower."
"...How do you stop it?" she asked. "How does one… you know, kill it?"
I offered, "Well in that case, you'd need to enter the dream of the possessed person, and kill the Nightmare living there." I then added, "I don't know how, though. But there's probably someone who does."
"That's good to hear." she sighed. "We should ask Doctor Oobleck about it."
"Not right now, though." I denied. "He gets crabby without his coffee, so I hear, and he probably won't answer anything."
"That's true. Let's wait until later, but do it as soon as possible." she agreed.
Yang strolled into the dining room, pouring herself the left-over coffee. "Hey, guys, whatcha talkin' 'bout?" she chuckled.
"Oh, nothing," I smiled, "it's just that Weiss has been having some bad dreams lately, and we're thinking about things like, you know, twenty minutes of stretches and a glass of warm milk."
"Is that a-"
"Yes. Yes it is."
"Oh, well in that case, did you see the final three release characters for Legends Combat A?" Yang squealed.
"Heck yeah I did!" I beamed. "Madame Paprica, Freddo Grammofono, AND a Pancetta and Persico double feature? I'm so hyped!"
"...What are you two talking about?" Weiss questioned, confused.
"Oh, just The Chronicles of J." Yang explained.
"No, you are NOT!" Weiss grinned. "I've read all three parts, from Spoils of the Ghost, to Fighting Spirits, to Solar Warriors, beginning to end, and I've never seen no Madame Paprica!" she bragged.
"Weiss…" I sighed, "...there's eight parts."
"Wait, there is?" she gasped. "What has Jinko been doing while I was at Dad's?"
"You've been at your dad's house for NINETEEN YEARS?" Yang exclaimed.
"No, I thought she literally only made three!" Weiss explained.
"Jinko Miyamoto is a literary GENIUS, you think she'd stop at three parts?" I called.
At that moment, Blake stepped out of the bathroom. "Yo I just took the most massive crap ever, what we talkin bout?" she blurted
"Weiss here just now learned there are eight parts of The Chronicles of J." Yang explained.
"Well my mom only bought me the first three, that's why!" Weiss blushed. "Anyways, can you catch me up?"
Yang nodded, "Oh, sure. Well, in Part Four, called Indestructible Crystals, it turns out that Joey had a Spirit-master son named Jokichi this whole time, who is the product of an affair between him and some random Japanese woman." she explained. "And said son, with the help of a dumb guy with a hand Spirit, a really short kid with a Spirit that has three different forms, and Joichiro, who is a marine biologist now, track down and defeat a serial killer who blows up, and then acts like he don't know nobody."
"I see," nodded Weiss. "Continue."
Yang continued, "And in the fifth part, called Splendente Giusticia, it goes to Giorgio Tortellini, a Spirit-master, the son of Deus and a random Italian lady. Giorgio, often called GioGio, joins a mafia named Frutto Passione, where everyone is named after food. He's recruited by a man named Bruno Biscotto, also a Spirit-master, who, like Giorgio, wants to destroy the mafia from the inside out because they sell drugs. So, with the help of fellow mafiosos Aereo Mandarino, Cottura Maionese, Tigre Montone, Pistola Insalato, and Madame Matica Paprica, who are all also Spirit-masters, they send the Boss, named Aceto, into an infinite death loop."
"And I'm guessing neither of these two new main protagonists ever come up again?" Weiss guessed.
"Yup." Yang nodded. "Moving on…" she continued, "Part Six, which is called Petrified Prison, moves onto Jolana Canjoh, Joichiro's estranged Floridian daughter. She hates him because he cares about starfish more than her. One day, she gets imprisoned because she ran over someone by accident and was framed for murder, where she meets Maya Presley, who is in because she was framed of sororicide, and some cute girl who they call UFO, who is not actually a Spirit-master, but really she is the Spirit. Then they meet Echo Bobifle, who was originally male, and Sports Stats, who can't remember his real name. Some ghost kid named Imperator Ragazzo helps them find out why a bunch of mysterious Spirit-masters are attacking them, and guess what?"
"What?" Weiss responded.
"Deus wasn't even dead." Yang nodded.
"As expected of him, honestly." Weiss understood.
Yang continued, "So Deus, sneaking in the shadows, makes the resident priest, Heinrich von Gottenmann, carry out his diabolical plan, which ends up going awry, resetting the universe in the process, which is a segue to the next two parts!"
"That sounds awesome!" Weiss gasped.
Yang was about to continue, but Blake interrupted. "Well gods dammit Yang, you took so long to explain the damn lore that it's already lunchtime."
"Well excuse ME for trying to make sense of the COJ lore!" Yang snarked.
"Why do I feel like you just lost that, Blake?" I laughed.
We arrived at the cafeteria, and to our surprise, a team was sitting at our regular spot. "Hey, can you guys please move? This is kinda our spot." Yang requested politely.
A really cute girl with space buns and a wide skirt stood up, acknowledging, "Oh, sorry, we'll be on our-"
She was cut off by a noirette in what looked to be a very impractical yellow track jacket, yelling "Sit your rat ass down, Hydromys, you're not our leader anymore! Stupid little vermin, I never liked your scrawny ass."
Hydromys sat down, without a word.
"That was mean." I thought, shocked. "These kids HAVE to be transfer students. Everyone knows Ozpin doesn't tolerate that sort of thing."
"...Hey, tiger-stripes." Yang glared at the aggressor, who had the legs of an apex predator. "Get your team and move. Now."
"What makes you think I will, towhead?" the girl leered, acting tough.
"Well, tough guy, if you don't, then I'll tell Headmaster Ozpin." Yang threatened.
"Ozpin?" the girl laughed. "That old fart won't care about your stupid seat, bimbo." she growled, pushing her luck.
"Well, he WILL care about YOU, when he hears that you talked that poor girl down like it was nobody's business, especially someone who commanded your respect once, and still commands it now, leader or not." Blake smiled.
"She's right, you know." Weiss agreed. "You obviously weren't here on the first day, because everyone knows Ozpin is VERY strict when it comes to bullying."
The girl paused for a moment, unsure of how to take that, then turned to her teammates. "Come on, bozos. We're leaving."
A boy with a flowing black cape tutted at her. "Not until we make amends with these kind ladies first." He turned to us. "My name is Cole Reginus, leader of Team CMYK. Excuse my teammate Yinying, it appears she has yet to familiarize herself with the rules of Beacon Academy. And who would you be?"
"We're Team RWBY!" I smiled. "I'm Ruby, this is Weiss, Blake, and Yang."
"It is very nice to meet you," he nodded, turning to a shorter boy with messy hair. "Mahogany, take Yin to the Headmaster's office, why don't you?" he asked the boy. "I feel she is in due need of some punishment."
"Yessir!" the boy saluted. "Yin, get over here."
"Well FINE, but don't touch my asscheeks on the way there." Yinying groaned, as they left.
"Apologies for your delayed lunch, Team RWBY. We will be out of your way now." Cole bowed.
"No, it's alright. We were just sticking up for someone in need." I blushed.
"You did that… for me?" Hydromys gasped.
"Of course!" Yang smiled. "We're Huntresses for a reason!"
"Thank you, guys. Hey, we'll see you soon, ok?" she waved.
"Anytime, Hydromys! See you later!" I called.
We quickly got our lunch, being the last in line, and sat in our usual spot. We scarfed down our salad and fried chicken, and soon enough it was time to go back to our dorms. "Damn, that was quick." I groaned internally. "Thanks a lot, Yinying."
As we left the lunchroom, Weiss got my attention. "Hey, Ruby, shouldn't we take care of my… you know, bad dreams?" she suggested.
"You know, that's a good idea." I agreed. "See you tonight, guys!"
"Where you going?" Blake asked me.
"We're gonna visit Oobleck, he might be able to help with Weiss's sleep problem." I explained.
"Probably not the guy you'd want to ask about sleep, but ok I guess." Blake accepted. "See ya, babe." she called, blowing me a kiss.
"See you too, sugar." I blushed, returning the favor.
We arrived at Oobleck's classroom, where we saw him talking to someone in a witch costume, holding a staff. Our professor, with his wild green hair and round glasses, noticed us. "Oh, hello, you two, may I ask what you are doing here? It's Sunday, there are no classes today." he wondered.
Weiss spoke up. "Hello, Dr Oobleck, I've been having strange dreams lately, and Ruby suggested the presence of a Grimm known as Nightmare. Do you happen to know anything about this creature?" she explained.
"Well, in that case, Ms Schnee, you have come to me at the right time. You see, I don't know much about slaying the Nightmare, but this person certainly does." he smiled, motioning over to the mysterious guest. "Girls, meet Professor Shion Zaiden. They will be able to help you with this Nightmare problem."
Professor Zaiden came up to us. "Greetings, children. I hope I can provide assistance."
"Pleased to meet you, Professor." I shook their hand.
"You as well." they nodded. "Ok, if we want to take care of the Nightmare, there is one known solution." they began. "Step one, you…"
"My name is Weiss, Professor."
"You, Weiss, will have to fall asleep. I recommend drinking warm milk, and stretching for twenty minutes. It does actually help, trust me. Step two, gather a party of eight, and I will transport you into the Dreamscape. The Dreamscape may be very dangerous, but it does have an internet connection, so you are allowed to call your families at any time within the Dreamscape. Step three, locate the Nightmare. Step four, cut all of its tendrils while avoiding the attacks produced by the possessed dreamer. Once you have done this, the Nightmare will die and Weiss will automatically wake up. I will take care of your dorm rooms while you are gone. Be sure to tell me if anything unexpected happens while battling the Nightmare." they explained, ending with, "As for now though, I will see you at bedtime."
"Thanks for the explanation, Professor! See you at nine!" I called as we headed back to the dorm.
"So… how did it go?" Blake whispered to me.
"Well… let's just say, we're going to have to move our night in the town a few days ahead." I whispered back.
"Damn, guess I'll have to get new movie tickets." she spoke, softly.
"Why are we whispering again?" I asked her.
"You don't want Yang to learn about our movie night, right?" she advised.
I gave her a soft whimper, meaning "We can just do this, and she won't understand a word."
"Right, forgot you were a Faunus." she mewled.
"Speaking of which, you've been sitting on my tail for a while now." I yelped.
"Oh, sorry." she purred, scooting to the side slightly.
"So, movies." I yipped. "What are we seeing?" I barked, happily.
"I heard you like action movies." she purred. "So I got us tickets for Sharkfin."
"Thanks babe, I always wanted to see that one!" I yapped.
"Y'all're seeing Sharkfin?" Ilia interjected.
"Yeah, and we only got two tickets, but we have to reschedule for Hunting reasons, so Blake can get us three!" I smiled.
"Hell yeah! When we going?" she cheered.
"Not sure, but I know that it'll be great!" I shouted, hyped.
After a chat about our favorite movies, I checked the time. "Weiss, get stretching, it's 8:40!" I called into the kitchen.
"You… actually made her do twenty minutes of stretches, and drink a glass of warm milk?" Blake questioned.
"It does help, apparently." I nodded. "You guys wait here, I'll go get JNPR. We'll need them."
"...Why?" Blake asked me.
"You'll see." I reassured her.
I entered the JNPR dorm. Calling over to them, I discussed the plan. "Everyone, come with me. Adventure is about to happen."
Everyone cheered.
"Saphron, Terra, you stay here and take care of Adrian. This is going to be, like ADVENTURE, adventure. He's safer here."
Terra picked up Adrian and took him to the bathroom to change. Saphron, giving Jaune a big hug, softly said "See ya soon, Jauney. I'll call you."
"See ya, Saph. If I don't come back, tell Frieda I did actually read her diary, ok?" he said, almost crying.
"...you read Frieda's diary?" she gasped.
"I've already said too much, I will see you in ten days." he said hurriedly.
"Boy, do I have a story to tell everyone!" she squeed.
At the dorm, we all hurried to the bedroom, where Professor Zaiden was already waiting for us, a minute early.
"Hello, everyone." they began. "My name is Professor Shion Zaiden, and I will be the one to assist you in entering the Dreamscape. Now that Weiss has fallen asleep, just in time, I will be able to transport you to this strange realm, in which you may learn things you may not have wanted to learn, seen things you may not have wanted to see. Is everyone ready?"
"Yes, Professor." everyone said, quietly.
"Then, here we go." they muttered. A soft, pink glow fell over the room, and everyone was transported to an empty wasteland, a void of frost. We could hear strange noises all around. No sweet dreams tonight. Only nightmares.
