Wheeler and Linka shrank after being hit by darts that contained a serum developed by Blight. The American was hit first, and as a result, he had already returned to his normal size. He had the Russian girl "in his hands". Linka was stark naked in Wheeler's shirt pocket and dreaded what he would be able to do to her given her current circumstances.

FROG DAY NIGHT

HOPE ISLAND – 6:00 PM

After a crazy afternoon, Wheeler and Linka were finally reunited with Gaia, Captain Planet and the other Planeteers. The exotic adventure began when Doctor Blight received a medical diagnosis of MAL. The artificial intelligence stated that the scar began to spread across the scientist's face and that if she didn't take action, it would only be a matter of time before it covered her entire body. The woman became desperate and demanded a solution. The computer claimed that there was a cure: a serum created from frogs because their DNA had a regenerating effect.

Following MAL's instruction, the mad scientist began capturing frogs in their habitats around the world. The strange disappearance of these amphibians caused Gaia to alert the planeteers. The teenagers boarded the Geo Cruiser and traveled to a habitat where these animals had not yet been captured. Subsequently, Blight arrived at the scene, captured several frogs and attempted to do the same with the planeteers. Everyone fled except Wheeler. The villain took the holder of the Ring of Fire to her lab where she tied him up.

While preparing the serum based on frogs DNA, the scientist had the idea of starting a new experiment which she called the Planeteer Genome Project. She plucked a hair from Wheeler's eyebrow and picked up a strand of Linka's blond hair that was caught in the redhead's blouse. However, her insane mind gave her another idea, this one much crazier than the previous one: she decided to turn all the Planeteers into giant scars! To do this, she shaved off a part of her own scar and placed it in a beaker and then in a dart gun. Then she injected the substance into the American boy.

The friends managed to rescue Wheeler but were surprised by Blight who used his weapon. Fortunately, the shots fired at Kwame, Gi and Ma-Ti hit personal objects that were in contact with their clothes. Linka was not so lucky as the dart hit her skin directly. The redhead told the others about Blight's plan to turn them into giant scars. The group started walking through the forest towards the scientist's laboratory in order to find an antidote. As dusk began to fall, Linka and Wheeler developed strange symptoms and fell asleep. The others lit a fire and decided to sleep too to continue the search the next day. However, after a while, Ma-Ti woke up Gi and Kwame telling them that the holders of the Fire and Wind rings disappeared. The three saw that their colleagues' clothes were on the floor and, worried, started looking for them.

Surprisingly, Wheeler and Linka were there the entire time but were not seen as the serum contained in the darts shrunk them. After that, the two experienced a long and dangerous adventure in the middle of the forest until the pet monkey Suchi appeared and managed to take them to his friends. The five summon Captain Planet and the hero defeated Blight. In the end, the computer informed the scientist that she had made a miscalculation because, in fact, the scar was regressing and not increasing. Much to the woman's dismay, MAL added that because of the frog DNA she injected herself, now the scar started to spread faster than fire.

Captain Planet, Suchi and the planeteers returned to Hope Island where they were greeted by Gaia. Having been hit first, the American had already returned to his normal size. On the other hand, the same could not be said for the Russian girl who, as the redhead pointed out, was "in his hands".

After bragging about this fact, the boy tucked Linka into his shirt pocket even over her screams of fear and protest. Seconds later, he felt the urge to sneeze and reached into that same pocket with a hand to get a handkerchief. However, what he took out was the piece of fabric the girl had been wearing as a toga since she shrunk. It is worth mentioning that this was the only piece of clothing that covered her body.

Suchi had helped the holders of the Fire and Wind rings when they were being attacked by other animals. He knew that the two teenagers wore unique, improvised pieces during the afternoon. Because of that, he covered his eyes as soon as he saw the piece of fabric in the boy's hand. The others also knew this fact and impulsively looked away to other directions of the beach.

To Linka's dismay, she was now completely naked in Wheeler's shirt pocket and dreaded what he would be able to do to her given her current circumstances.

- What do you think you're doing, Yankee?

- Sorry, baby. I was pretty sure there was a handkerchief on my shirt. I don't know where he ended up.

- You must have left a tissue in the shirt you were wearing earlier.

- Truth. We had to leave our clothes in the middle of the forest when we shrank. (He said when remembering)

- Exactly. Don't you dare look or touch me!

- I'm not looking! (The redhead snapped)

- I think it's really good! Bozhe Moy! What did I do to deserve this? (The girl lamented)

- Hold on tight, Linka. (Wheeler said without looking down)

- Because? (Linka questioned without understanding)

- Because I have to run.

- What? Like this?

From inside the pocket, the girl could not see where she was being taken. However, she felt her body sway due to the rapidity of the boy's steps. It didn't even take a minute for them to reach her destination.

- Where are we?

- In her room.

(Linka felt her heart skip a beat when she heard that answer)

- Why did you bring me here?

- As far as I know, this is the only place in the house where your clothes are. (Wheeler replied)

- Oh yes. Then that's it.

- What did you think? Why else would I bring you here?

- I didn't think of anything else. Forget what I said.

- No, I want to know. Speak up, Link. (The holder of the Ring of Fire asked)

- OK. It's just that knowing you as I do, I thought you'd try to take advantage of my situation.

- What? I didn't know you thought I was a freeloader.

- I didn't want to think that about you but it was inevitable.

- How could you think I would do something like that? You do not know me. I'm not a monster.

- Sorry. It's just that the way you are, with this habit of passing on every girl you meet, it was hard not to think about it.

Deeply hurt, Wheeler stated in a serious tone:

- Linka, it's one thing to pass lines. It is quite another to be a scoundrel capable of taking advantage of a situation to abuse a girl who is naked and defenseless.

- You are right. I apologize once again.

- You're forgiven. Now that's enough of this matter. I'll open your closet and get you something to wear.

- OK.

The American tried to open it but all the wardrobe doors were locked.

- The doors are locked. Where is the key?

- Wait, it's with me. Or rather, it was with me. I always keep it in my shorts pocket but we had to leave our clothes behind when we shrank. (The blonde replied)

- I'll ask the Captain to look for your key tomorrow. I would melt the doorknob but the ring won't work because Cap is outside. Mind if I break in?

- Of course I do. You're so clumsy you're capable of dropping this wardrobe on top of me. I don't want to be crushed to death by a door!

- Worse, I don't see any clothes around here. Don't you usually leave some on the bed?

- Of course not, Yankee.

- Oh yes. I forgot that you are all straight, perfect and super organized.

- I can't believe you're going to start teasing me, that's too childish even for you.

- Better to act like a child than to think nonsense about others. I would even go to my room to get my clothes but it's better not. After all, you don't trust me.

- I thought you'd forgiven me.

- And I forgave. But my sadness didn't go away. It's hard to forget something like that.

- I get it. I think there's a silk scarf in my dresser drawer.

- I'll get it for you. Okay, here it is. (He said as he put the handkerchief in his pocket. At no time did he lower his head so as not to end up seeing the girl's nudity.)

- Thanks.

- Here, tie this elastic band around your waist. It will be firmer.

The blonde followed the redhead's recommendation. When she finished putting on that makeshift outfit, she heard the boy say in a serious tone:

- I want to talk to you, Linka.

- All right, put me on the desk. I'm already suffocated in here.

- OK.

- And then? What do you want to talk about? (Link asked)

- I want to ask your forgiveness.

- Sorry for what?

- For ripping the fabric. Believe me, I didn't do this on purpose. I'm sorry for putting you in this embarrassing situation.

- No need to apologize, I believe you didn't mean to. It's all Doctor Blight's fault.

- You are right.

- Is that all you wanted to tell me?

- Not really. I owe you an apology for one more thing. (The boy revealed)

- Whereby?

- As soon as we shrank in the middle of that forest, I tore a piece of fabric to cover myself. When you went to do the same, I put my hands over my face but I confess I tried to peek through my fingers.

- What? How could you do this to me? (The girl asked, her face visibly flushed)

- I know what I did was wrong, Linka. I totally understand if you don't want to forgive me. Don't be embarrassed, I couldn't see anything because you were under your clothes.

- Fortunately. What you did was wrong but just as you forgave me, so do I.

- Thanks. Now you must be thinking I'm a pervert, right? (He said with his head down, completely sorry)

- No, Wheeler. What you did was wrong, yes, but I'm sure you acted without thinking, you must have been driven by a typical teenage curiosity.

- Yeah, that's why. I know it's not an excuse for my mistake but I acted without thinking. I just got my punishment.

- What punishment? (The Russian asked curiously)

- When I was in the lab looking for an antidote, Blight captured me and put me in a glass container along with some frogs. Shortly after, the effect of the serum wore off and I returned to my normal size. Only the fabric I wore around my waist was small and ripped in the process.

- And then you got naked in front of Blight?

- Yea.

- I'm sorry, I can imagine the shame you felt. (Linka spoke sincerely)

- Thanks.

- How long were you like this?

- Just a few seconds. I looked to the side, saw a lab coat and tied it around my waist.

- Fortunately.

- Wait, there's still more. That wasn't the worst part.

- What could be worse than that? (The girl who was already blushing)

- Blight smirking while saying that I didn't need to be shy, not to worry about being naked because she's a doctor.

- What a disgusting woman, I'm sorry you went through that. It must have been very embarrassing.

- Really was. I don't even know how I'm going to be able to look her in the face when we meet again. (The boy said visibly embarrassed)

- I know it's hard but try not to think about it.

- I am going to try.

- And don't think that having gone through all this was a punishment. This woman is crazy, she would do the same to anyone.

- It might be. Shall we go outside? Others must be worried. (He suggested)

- Yes let's go.

Wheeler tucked Linka back into his shirt pocket, got up from his chair and started walking towards the bedroom door.

- Wait, Wheeler.

- What there was?

Instead of answering, the girl returned the following question:

- What did you feel when the effect of the serum wore off?

- A weird feeling, it's hard to explain. It was very fast, when I realized I was already returning to my normal size.

- Oh no! (The Russian exclaimed)

The effect of the serum started to wear off and Linka was returning to her real size. The boy's shirt pocket was no longer able to hold the girl. It ripped and the weight caused Wheeler's body to lean forward. So when the Russian finally got back to her normal size, she fell back to the ground and the American landed on top of her.

Neither of them were hurt though, Linka was completely naked again and with Wheeler on top of her. Her face was so flushed, she couldn't even try to hide the shame she was feeling. The redhead's eyes were inches from the blonde's. So her angle of vision didn't allow him to see her naked, although she knew that was her current condition.

Embarrassment was the word that best defined what the two protectors felt at that moment. Their gazes were fixed, they could feel their heartbeats racing and visualize each other's embarrassed expressions. Nervousness made that half-minute silence seem like an eternity. Finally, despite not moving a single finger, the girl spoke up:

- Sorry, Wheeler.

- No need to apologize, you had no way of predicting when the effect would wear off. I hope I didn't hurt you.

- It didn't hurt me. And you, are you okay?

- I am. Keep calm. I will resolve this as best I can.

Wheeler reached over and pulled back the quilt that covered Linka's bed. Then he used the cloth to cover his eyes and just like that he got up off the girl. He turned onto his back and threw the fabric to the floor.

- Use this for now.

- OK. (She nodded and began to wrap the cloth around her body.)

Wheeler left the room and already outside, said:

- Wait for me here. I'll be back.

He went to her room, opened a drawer in her closet, chose a change of clothes and brought it to the girl. Linka opened the door, took it and thanked it. Minutes later, she left the room.

- It didn't get so bad, baby. That outfit looked better on you than it did on me! (The American mocked and managed to get a discreet smile from his Russian colleague)

- Very funny, Wheeler. At least, it's better than being naked or wearing that quilt.

- Certainly. Let's go outside. Ask Gi to lend you one of her clothes and I'll ask Cap to look for her keys in that forest.

- Thanks. It's a good idea.

- Good, then let's go.

The redhead said as he walked towards the door. However, he was surprised by the blonde who pulled him by his left arm.

- Thank you, Wheeler. You were right. I was wrong about you. You had two chances to take advantage of me and you didn't.

- No need to thank me, I just did what I had to do.

- I need to say thank you. Most guys would have acted differently. I was lucky to be with you and not one of them. The respect you showed is very rare these days.

- I know it is but don't think I'm made of iron. When you fell on top of me, I could see your mouth right next to mine. You don't know how much I wanted to kiss you. (he revealed)

- And why didn't you kiss? (She asked)

- It is not obvious? If I did that, you'd think I was trying to take advantage of the situation and that the kiss would just be the "beginning", you know? I couldn't make that mistake with you anymore. So I controlled myself and pushed that desire from my mind.

- I understood. Thank you once again.

- You're welcome. What I want most is that you don't have a bad image about me. I'm not a monster, Linka. My mother taught me good manners, taught me to respect women. I'm not perfect but I'm not and never will be a crook.

- I know that, Yankee. I believe in you. I will never forget this day.

After saying that, Linka gave Wheeler a tight hug. It was a gesture that symbolized affection and gratitude. When this came to an end, the holder of the Ring of Wind kissed the holder of the Ring of Fire and was reciprocated. Then she walked towards the door. The boy, still in disbelief with what had just happened, put his right hand to his lips and whispered to himself:

- I won't forget that day too, baby.
