"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" a voice echoed. Madison's eyes were still closed as she was still sleepy but felt a hard breeze through her face. Was her ceiling fan fanning hard or out of control?
Her eyes fluttered open to see Abby on her lap but everything around her, everything was all brown, sepia tone like out of an old fashion picture. "Wake up!" the voice spoke again.
Madison looked to where the voice came from and couldn't believe her eyes. There she was, Dorothy Gale and her little dog, Toto with her. Abby lifted her head up and looked at Dorothy. She started barking at her. "Shh! Abby, stop!" said Madison and carefully picked up her up.
"Thank goodness, you're awake. I'm so sorry for startling your dog, miss." said Dorothy as she looked concern. "It's fine. Abby's not really social. Acting like a guard dog." said Madison as she felt the wind blowing harder.
"Oh my! It looks like a storm coming! I gotta get back home to Uncle Henry & Auntie Em right away! What about you?" Dorothy asked.
Madison wanted to say something, but don't gave the right words or how to say it except, "I uh... I've seemed to lose my way to where I live." she replied as a lie. Dorothy looked at her. Thinking that she can't leave her and her dog in a storm. "My home is at the farm. It's not too far from here. You and your dog will be safe if you two come with me to take shelter with me and my family."
"I appreciate it. Thank you." said Madison and she followed her as she carried Abby in her arms. At first, she was wondering why it was so windy but knew this scene too well as she turned around to see the tornado from the distance.
"Oh no! It's a Twister!" Dorothy exclaimed. "That can't be good!" said Madison. "We better get to Storm Shelter quickly! Come on, miss!" said Dorothy and runs down the path that leads back to the farm. "Wait for me!" said Madison as she quickly follows her.
It took a long walk to the Gale Farm, Madison still keeps Abby close in her arms while trying to catch up with the Farm Girl and her Dog, but there wasn't any time for her to introduce herself to her.
"Look! There it is! Come on! We're almost there!" said Dorothy as she spotted her eyes. "Oh! Thank goodness!" said Madison as she kept holding her dog but felt how a little heavy, she is. Dorothy feels the strong wind, puts her suitcase down while picking up Toto before picking it up again and making sure Madison is keeping up.
The finally made it to the porch and as Dorothy opened the door, Madison watched the door flying off from the strong wind. "Quick, inside!" she said and the two came in along with the dogs.
"Auntie Em! Auntie Em? Auntie Em!" Dorothy hollered as the girls looked around the house. Madison and Dorothy ran out to the back to get to the Storm Shelter and finds it locked, she kicked it but it'll hard for anyone inside to hear. "Auntie Em! Uncle Henry!" Dorothy yelled but her relatives couldn't hear her from all the wind.
"We need to get back inside!" Madison hollered, "It's not safe out there!" Dorothy looks at the twister and nod, following Madison back inside the house. "Let's go in my bedroom. We'll wait here until then." 'The bedroom! Oh boy, that's where the window hit Dorothy. Hope it doesn't hit me.' Madison thought.
The girls quickly went inside the bedroom seeing that no one is around. Dorothy looked around and thought she heard something. "Auntie Em?"
Suddenly, a window sash blown by the wind and hit Dorothy and Madison by their heads. It causes the girls to yelp and made Dorothy lied down on the bed and Madison was on the floor, leaving them unconscious.
As if it was like either magic for real or a dream, the house began to get lifted up and flying into the twister.
The sounds of barking echoed as it woke Madison up. Slowly lifting her eyes, she lift her head up and turned to the barking sound. She saw Abby at the window, barking at a floating rooster. Madison's eyes grew wide as she realized what was happening. She quickly got up and grabbed her while Dorothy woke up.
The girls couldn't believe to they see everything flying out of the bedroom window, then they saw a sweet old lady, doing some knitting on a rocking chair with a cat on her lap, waving at them before they waved back. Toto barked at the window & jumped off the bed to hide underneath.
Two men in a row boat float came by floating as they were rowing. They gave a friendly gestures to the girls and flew off. As they continued to look on, they looked down and couldn't believe what they saw. They are in the middle of a tornado and how high they are.
"Oh my!" Madison exclaimed as she slowly move back away from the window and holding Abby tight. "We must be up inside the cyclone!" said Dorothy as Toto peeked from under the bed.
Madison looked at the window and saw a woman riding on bicycle. She realized who that woman is and Abby was barking at her. "Oh! Miss Gulch!" Dorothy exclaimed.
Miss Gulch came a little closer to the window, seeing the girls and does the little greetings with her hat until... she transformed into a witch as she was flying on a broomstick. The girls quickly looked away as they were on the bed but they can hear the witch's evil cackle. Madison don't know what's even more scarier, the witch or the tornado?
The tornado made the house even more bumpier, the girls held their dogs close & clings on to the bed, screaming. It felt like ride at the fun-fair in Madison's mind & it would make her stomach go funny.
The house kept on falling and spinning around until everything stops with loud thud.
