The gang kept on walking as they continued to follow the yellow brick road until they came to a couple of trees that have some apples. Madison knew this scene too well especially she knew that the Wicked Witch was hiding behind one of the trees as she was spying Dorothy and Scarecrow but she's also spying on her too.

She touched the necklace as she looks at the trees until Dorothy spoke with awe, "Oh, apples! Oh look!" Madison snapped out of it and looked at Dorothy as she was heading to one of the trees. "Wait a minute, Dorothy!" she said as she grabbed her arm, "I... really don't think that's a good idea to take one of the apples."

"Why not?" Dorothy questioned as she looked at her even the Scarecrow looked at her. Madison wanted to say about the tress but couldn't until she thought, "Because... there's a house over there and I think someone own those trees as a property." she said as she looked at the house. "Well, maybe if we took some, we'll go there and asked." said Dorothy and looked at a branch to see a shiny red apple. "I really don't think..."

Before Madison could say anything, Dorothy plucked an apple from the branch until a tree grabs the apple and slapped Dorothy's hand. "Ouch!" Dorothy yelped. "What do you think you're doing?" the tree asked angrily at the girl. Madison knew that was going to happen as she backed away a little. Abby was barking at it, but Madison quickly picked Abby up and shushed her.

"We've been walking a long way and I was hungry and..." Dorothy paused for a moment and looked at the tree in shocked like it was talking. "Did you say something?!"

"She was hungry!" "She was hungry!" the other trees spoke. The first tree looked at the girl including the Scarecrow and Madison as he was still angry, "Well, how would you like to have someone come along and pick something off of you?"

Dorothy was still shocked but also defended as she looked at her friends. "Oh dear! I keep forgetting I'm not in Kansas." she said. "And we don't have talking trees in West Virginia that talks rude." said Madison.

"Come along, girls. You don't want any of those apples." said Scarecrow. Madison looked at him and know what he was planning. "Are you hinting my apples aren't what they ought to be?" the tree asked. "Oh, no. It's just that they don't like little green worms!" "Why you!" The tree was so angry that he was about to grabbed Dorothy, but the girls scream and ran off along with Scarecrow.

"I'll show how to get apples." he whispered to the girls. He makes a face at the trees which causes them to throw apples at them. Madison and Scarecrow quickly dodge from the throws and saw many apples on the ground. Abby starts squirming and Madison quickly put her down. The Dachshund came to one of the apples and tries biting it but licked it first.

"Hooray! I guess that did it! Help yourselves." said the Scarecrow as he gathered some of the apples.

Dorothy and Madison came to one side and to gather some of the apples until something caught Madison's eye. "Um... Dorothy. Look!" she said as she pointed at something. Dorothy looked to where Madison was pointing at and saw a pair of metallic, tin feet. She examined it as she knocks lightly on the foot and then the leg.

The girls stood up and saw a silver faced man that's wearing a funnel cap. Look like a man but metallic and had some rust on it. "Why, it's a man." Dorothy said as she looked astonished, "A man made out of tin!" "What?" Scarecrow questioned and then looked at the tin man. The looked at him with amazement until they heard something.

"...Oil can..." a voice spoke but muffled, "Oil... can..." The three looked and realized the voice was coming from him. "Did he spoke?" Madison asked. "Did you say something?" Dorothy asked to the tin man. They listened carefully and heard him say that it sounds like... "Oil can!"

"He said oil can." said Dorothy. "Oil can what?" Scarecrow spoke as he was confused. "Oil can?" Dorothy questioned. Madison acted as she looked around and spotted a can on the tree stump. "Is that it?" Madison asked. Dorothy looked at it and smiled, "Oh! Here it is!" she said and grabbed the oil can, "Where do you want to be oiled first?"

"My mouth! My mouth!" the tin man muffled. "He said his mouth." said the Scarecrow and took the oil can. He quits on the side of the mouth and handed to Dorothy. "The other side." he said, and Dorothy oiled the other side of the mouth.

Madison watched as the Tin Man's mouth started moving back and forth, hearing the squeaking sounds and then started to speak. "My-My goodness! I can talk again! Oh! Oil my arms, please. Oil my elbows." he spoke, and Dorothy oiled the joints and handed to Scarecrow to oil the other. "Madison move back a little." she said, and Madison moved far away from the axe.

Dorothy carefully lowered the tine arm, so it hangs naturally but been careful not get her feet chopped from the axe. "Did that hurt?" she asked. " No, it feels wonderful. I've held that axe up for ages." the Tin Man answered. "How did you ever get like this?" Madison asked.

"Well, about a year ago, I was chopping that tree, when suddenly it began to rain. And right in the middle of the chop, I rusted solid. And I've been that way ever since." the Tin Man answered. "Well, at least your free from standing still." she said. "And you're perfect now." said Dorothy.

"My neck. My neck." the Tin Man said to the Scarecrow as he oiling him and then looked back at the girls, "Perfect? Bang on my chest if you think I'm perfect. Go ahead, bang on it!"

The girls start banging a little on the chest which causes an echo. "Beautiful! What an echo!" said the Scarecrow as he smiled but the Tin Man sadly shook his head. "It's empty. The tinsmith forgot to give me a heart." "No heart?!" all three said in union. "No heart. I'm all hollow." he answered as he banged on his chest until he falls back to the tree. The three quickly tried to help them but the Tin Man stopped them for a moment.

Tin Man: (singing) When a man's an empty kettle

He should be on his mettle

And yet I'm torn apart

Just because I'm presumin'

That I could be kind-a human

If I only had a heart

I'd be tender,

I'd be gentle,

And awful sentimental

Regarding Love and Art

I'd be friends with sparrows

And the boy who shoots the arrows

If I only had a heart

Picture me, a balcony

Above a voice sings low

Female voice (Juliet): Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

Tin Man: I hear a beat

How sweet

Just to register emotion

And really feel the part,

I could stay young and chipper,

And I'd lock it with a zipper,

If I only had a heartealousy, devotion

Tin Man starts to walk but the rust got him to stop as one of his knees got stiff. Dorothy quickly oiled it and the tin man made his leg move. He starts walking again but the other knee gotten stiff, and the Scarecrow quickly oiled it.

As Tin Man bowed in thanks, he accidently ran backwards down the road and starts his dance. Abby starts barking at him, but Madison quickly picked her and shook her head at her. The Tin Man continued to dance and made smoke coming out of his funnel hat. The three watched with amazement and delight. Madison turned to see Dorothy and Scarecrow whispered about something.

She was curious at first but figure that it might be about the Tin Man to tag along to the Emerald City. As the three continued to watch, leaning to the side like he's falling. They quickly rushed to help him, but he stood up and lean to the other. The leaning kept on repeating which Scarecrow gotten tired of it as he stood to the side and Dorothy on the other.

Madison giggled a little as to think that part was funny until the Tin Man stopped leaning until he stumbles backwards. Scarecrow grabbed him and pulled him over but quickly gotten out of the way and fell over. Madison quickly moved aside but ran with Dorothy as they started to check on the tin man when he fell.

"Oh! Are you alright?" Dorothy asked. "I'm afraid, I'm a little rusty yet." he answered, and Dorothy oiled more on him. "That was a wonderful dance you did." said Madison and the Tin Man replied with a smile. "You know, we were just wondering why you couldn't come with us to the Emerald City to ask the Wizard of Oz for a heart." said Dorothy.

"Well, suppose the Wizard wouldn't give me one when we got there." said Tin Man. "But he will. And he must!" said Madison. "We've come such a long way already." said Dorothy.

Suddenly, they heard a loud cackled and Madison gasped as they all saw looked up to see the Wicked Witch on the roof of the cabin. "You call that long? Why, you've just begun! Helping the little ladies along, are you, my fine gentlemen? Well, stay away from her or I'll stuff a mattress with you!" she said as she pointed at the Scarecrow and then to the Tin Man, "And you! I'll use you for a beehive! Here, Scarecrow. Wanna play ball?"

The Witch raised her hand up and throws a fireball at them and she cackled and laugh while the Scarecrow and the girls panicked while the Tin Man puts out the fire from his funnel hat. The Witch laughed and flew of.

Abby growled and barked as the witch was gone but Madison calmed her down. "Alright, Abby! Calm down! She's gone!" she said looked to where all the red smoke was about to clear off. All of them looked up in silence until Scarecrow spoked.

"I'm not afraid of her. I'll see you two get safely to the Wizard, whether I get a brain or not! Stuff a mattress with me!" he said and scoffed. "I'll see you two reach the Wizard, whether I get a heart or not. Beehive! Bah! Let her try and make a beehive out of me!" said the Tin Man.

The girls smiled at the two. "Oh, you're the best friends anybody ever had. And it's funny, but I feel as if I've known you all the time. But I couldn't have, could I?" said Dorothy. "I don't see how. You two weren't around when I was stuffed and sewn together, were you?" "And I was standing over there rusting for the longest time."

"Still, I wish I could remember. But I guess it doesn't matter anyway. We know each other now, don't we?" Dorothy asked. "That's right." "We do." "Agreed." "To Oz?" The Scarecrow asked. "To Oz!" Tin Man replied.
