The gang kept on going along with their new friend. As they kept walking through the forest, Madison knew that the witch was spying on the glass ball like in the movie and also knew what her trick be. She had her hand close to her check where the necklace is and looked at it.

The Lion notice her looking at the necklace and nervously stood beside her. "I-I see you have the necklace that belong to the Witch of the East." he said. Madison looked at him. "You've seen this before?" she asked. "Since I was a cub. That witch was using that to harm the forest and my family. That's how I became scared."

"Do you... remember what other powers the necklace has? Please tell me if you remember." "All I remember was destruction. I didn't see what other powers it has. I was only a cub and scared."

Madison looked down in thought as she looked at the necklace. "I see." she answered and then looked at Lion, "Glinda did gave me this necklace. Told me that there's magic in the necklace but didn't tell me what. Not to mention when she gave it to me, it turned from an emerald to a sapphire. But the point is, if there's any power in this necklace, I won't do anything evil, I won't harm you or my friends or let any evil have it."

Lion looked at her. Seeing that kindness and hearing the words were the truth, he gave her a nod and Madison smiled. "Madison? Lion? You coming?" Scarecrow asked. "We're coming!" Madison answered and looked at Lion. "Let's go! We can't keep the wizard waiting." said Madison as she smiled with enthusiastic, and Lion nodded.

The two finally catch up with the others and continue to run until the came to a field of familiar flowers. Poppies. Madison knew what the poppies will do in Oz, but her eyes couldn't take off on seeing what the others saw. The Emerald City.

"There's Emerald City! Oh, we're almost there! At last! At last! It's beautiful, isn't it? Just like I knew it would be." said Dorothy. "Yes... it is. And that would also mean that the wizard will be there." said Madison. "That's right. He really must be a wonderful wizard to live in the city like that."

"Well, come on then what are we waiting for?" Lion asked. "Nothing! Let's hurry!" said Scarecrow. "Yes, let's run!" said Dorothy. "Wait a minute! Guys, shouldn't we-" before Madison could finish, the rest have already start running even Abby. Madison tried to reach but she was too far.

"Oh! Well... guess I have no choice." she said and started to run to catch up the others but what she didn't know that the sapphire on her necklace was glowing. "Come on! Come on!" Scarecrow yelled. "Hurry! Hurry!" said Tin Man. Lion quickly began to pick up the pace and following after them. Dorothy ran behind, however something strange was happening, she tried to keep running after her friends.

Madison quickly ran but to her surprise that she ran past Dorothy, Lion, and the dogs. 'That's odd. I should be slowing down like the others and be falling asleep.' she thought as she looked at Abby that she ran past them.

Once they got close enough, they all got a good look at the beautiful city of emeralds. "Oh, look! Come on! Come on!" Scarecrow gesture to the others as Lion caught up with them. "Look at the scenery. It's wonderful! Emerald City!" said the Tin Man.

Madison smiled at the city but turned to see Dorothy struggled. "Dorothy?" she asked. The others turned to see Dorothy as she looked tired but finally caught up with them. "Oh. What's happening? What is it? I can't run anymore. I'm so sleepy." she said. "Here, give us your hand and we'll pull you along." said Scarecrow as he grabbed her hand and gently pulls her, but Dorothy stopped him for a moment.

"Oh, no, please. I have to rest for just a minute. Toto. Where's Toto?" she asked. She looked down and saw her dog lying on the ground and she laid down beside him. "Oh, you can't rest now. We're nearly there." said Scarecrow but it was too late, Dorothy was now asleep. Madison looked around and saw her dog already asleep.

"Abby! Wake up! Wake up, Abby!" she said but her dog didn't open her eyes. 'I don't understand, why am I not falling asleep like her and the others?' she thought but heard crying as she turned to see Tin Man crying.

"Don't cry. You'll rust yourself again!" Scarecrow yelled at him. "Coming to think of it, forty winks wouldn't be bad." said the Lion as he yawned but was about to fall but Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Madison caught him. "Don't you start it too!" said Scarecrow.

"No! We ought to try and carry Dorothy." said Tin Man. "I don't think I could, but we could try." "We'll carry her together." said Madison. "Let's!" "Yes!" said the Tin Man and Scarecrow. Just as they were about to try their plan, the Lion yawned once more and fell to the ground, already asleep. "Lion!" Madison shouted and tried to pull him up. "Now look at him. This is terrible!" "Here, Tin Man, help me." said Scarecrow.

Scarecrow and Tin Man tried to lift the sleeping farm girl up, but she won't move. "It's not working guys!" said Madison. "This is terrible! I can't budge her an inch. This is the spell, this is!" said Scarecrow. "It's the Wicked Witch! What'll we do?" the Tin Man asked and then shouted, "Help! Help!"

"It's no use screaming at a time like this. Nobody will hear you! Help! Help! Help!" Scarecrow shouted. Madison wished she could do something until she saw a white flake falling down. She looked up and saw snow falling down. She only knew what or who was doing this. Glinda.

"It's snowing!" Scarecrow exclaimed. "No, it isn't!" Tin Man cried until he stood silent and froze. "Yes, it is! Maybe that'll help! Oh, but couldn't help!" said Scarecrow. Madison looked down and saw Dorothy's eyes open. "Scarecrow, look!" she pointed. Scarecrow looked down and noticed she was waking up. "It does help! Dorothy you're waking up!"

Dorothy sat up and looked at the snow around her. Madison was happy to see her awake but looked down and saw Abby awake. "Abby, you're awake!" she said and picked up her dog, giving her kisses on her head. The lion yawn and sat up, looking around to see the snow. "Unusual weather we're having, ain't it?" he asked, and the girls and Scarecrow chuckled. Dorothy looked up and saw Tin Man frozen.

"Look! He's rusted again. Oh, give me the oilcan, quick!" said Dorothy as she got up and Scarecrow gave her the oil can. "Here. He sure is rusted." he said.

After several minutes of oiling, the Tin Man finally moved and was happy to see Dorothy and Lion awake but then he looked at Madison. "Madison, I just realized something, how come you didn't fall asleep like the others?" he asked, and the gang looked at her. "I-I don't know. I don't know how I didn't fall asleep." she answered. "Madison... the necklace! It's glowing!" said Lion as he pointed.

Madison looked down and saw the sapphire glowing. And then it hit her. "Of course! Glinda did say that there is magic in this necklace. It must have protected me from being asleep." she said. "Wonder what other magic it can do?" Scarecrow asked. "I'm not sure but I or all of us will discover it together." she said.

"Come on, let's get out of here. Look! Emerald City is closer and prettier than ever!" said Dorothy. "Right!" Madison agreed.

And so, the group kept on walking, getting out of the field and back on the yellow brick road. Continuing their way towards the Emerald City.
