Heat.

That's the first thing Jasper registered as he woke up. It was back to strangling his throat. Blazing. Boiling. He shifts on the bed to leave his curled position and lay on his back. He can feel the sweat trickling down his temple. His head pounding and his stomach starting to tie once again.

It's less horrible than before but it's still uncomfortable.

And the pain.

He rolls on the bed until he is half out of the bed but he has no strength to support himself and ends up crashing on the ground.

He doesn't get up.

A pained moan abandons him as the fire lits back up inside him. Stronger. He feels too weak. Pathetic. Hot. Defenseless .

And in a moment of weakness he calls for her.

-Alice.

His voice came out as a soft whisper. Miserable. Pathetic .

That single action brought him even more pain to his throat and he grabbed at his head as the pounding started reaching an exploding-like sensation.

-Alice.

His voice wasn't even loud but it felt like he was screaming. It hurt. God did he wish to hunt those two damn humans down and rip them apart.

His head was going to kill him before his bones and skin could melt under the heat.

He curled on the floor and flinched when his stomach twisted. His ears were ringing and the ceiling was spinning above him.

And then there she is kneeling before him. Her face so full of concern it hurts.

-Jazz? Jazz what's wrong?

-Hurts.

He can't bite back the whimper as the pounding in his heads starts becoming too much to handle. God he would rather have Maria torturing him than this. Anything but this God.

-What hurts?

-Head. Throat. S' burnin'.

Alice frowned at that and rested her hand against his forehead. God he was burning again.

-Wait here. I will be right back.- He sobbed and Alice tried to not let it break her. He needed help. And she knew what she could get that could help him.

Human blood.

She knew Carlisle had a few of those in his studio. He stored them in case one of them got a horrible injury that would need more than just animal blood to heal.

And he also used them sometimes to wake Jasper or in hopes to get Jasper used to the scent.

So far it hadn't worked. Not that it would in the first place.

He would never get used to it for the sole fact that unlike the others and Alice herself animal blood didn't quell his thirst to a bearable ache. It did nothing to him. It was like a human drinking water in hopes to quell their starvation.

She first made sure to locate the others. Edward was in his room. Carlisle and Esme had left to hunt. And Emmett was in the garage with Rosalie.

Good.

She was in and out of Carlisle's studio in less than a second. She hoped he didn't notice the missing transfusion bag.

Jasper was still curled on the ground whimpering when she returned and she was quick to close the door before anyone heard him.

-Do you think that you would go sick if you were to drink something?- She asked as she came to sit at his side.

-Dun't know.

Well. All things considered Alice guessed it would be better to risk it at this point.

The bag had an IV tube so that at least could be used as a straw and keep the blood's scent to a minimum.

-You can't grab the bag Jazz. Please. If it breaks...

She knew she was asking too much of him but it had to be done or else the others would smell it if the bag bursted.

-Fine.

Even if he said that Alice ended up having to hold his arms against his chest and straddle him against the ground for the second he got a taste of it her request had disappeared from his mind.

The blood was gone in less than a few seconds and she had to force him to let go of the tube.

-How are you feeling?- Alice asked as she released his arms. He didn't look any better. In fact.

He looked worse.

-'M sorry.

That's all the warning Alice got before he went sick once again. This time all over the floor. She had to hold him to keep him from face planting on his own vomit. The sob that left him broke her heart.

-'M sorry.

-Don't be. You have nothing to apologize for.- Alice soothed as she pulled him back from the vomit after making sure he wouldn't get sick again. Helping him back on the bed. He curled on his side and sobbed as his arms wrapped around his stomach. He was shaking again and practically soaked in sweat. How was that even possible?

And as Alice saw his eyes a thought occurred to her.

Poison.

She almost hit herself on the forehead as realization struck. Of course blood wouldn't help him.

The garlic was poisoning his blood right now. What he needed was venom to help him burn off the poison. Blood would do nothing but worsen his condition.

She locked the door before climbing on the bed and getting rid of her shirt.

-Jazz? Hey, come on, you have to bite me. It will help. I promise.

He moaned and curled tighter. Alice huffed at his stubbornness before grabbing him and forcing him on top of her. Holding his jaw and leading his mouth close to the scar. It was still healing so she knew he would catch the scent of venom.

And as predicted he didn't hesitate to bite once the scent reached him. Straddling her against the bed and drinking in. This was the first time he had fed on her twice on the same day, and she found herself biting back a surge of nausea as her vision zoomed out.

His reaction was immediate as he pulled back. A wave of comfort covering her like a warm mantle.

-'M sorry. 'M sorry.

-Hey, it's alright. I'm alright.- Alice was quick to sooth as she grabbed his arms before he could think about escaping.- I just need blood alright? I will be fine. You are the one that worries me Jazz.

-I feel better.- Jasper stated licking the remaining venom that trailed down his chin. He hated this. Hated that he was hurting her. If in order for him to feel better Alice had to suffer he would rather die or ride this through submerged in pain, whichever was it.

Alice grabbed his face to meet his gaze. Concern staining her emotions as her hand shifted to press against his forehead. His cheek and then his neck. He grabbed her hand and pressed a soft kiss against her knuckles.

-I'm fine now.

Even if he said that Alice didn't like it. Because she had no idea how to make sure he was actually fine. She wished she could tell Carlisle for he would know what to do. He had spent a lot of time with the Volturi. The Volturi knew a lot about black bloods and she knew that Carlisle must have encountered a black blood at least once during his time in Volterra.

But he didn't know. Couldn't know.

Because what if Carlisle couldn't see past what the books said or whatever he had seen of them in Volterra?

But most of it all.

What if he couldn't see that Jasper and The Major were two different people? What if he refused to give The Major a second chance?

She couldn't risk it.

So all Alice was left with was with taking care of him herself.

-You should lose the shirt.- She told him as she tugged on it. It was damp and she would rather have him not wearing too much stuff if his body was overheating or whatever the hell the poison was doing to him.

He did as told and Alice brought him back down on the bed with her. Carding her fingers through his hair and humming for him. She wasn't surprised when she felt his muscles relax and his hold on her loosen. Sleeping when he was ill seemed to be his recurrent trait.

Not that he had gotten sick that much.

In all the time Alice had known him he had gotten ill twice.

A few months after meeting him both of them were walking in a crowded place and a woman who sold flowers had bumped on him. Some flowers hitting him straight in the face.

One of those flowers happened to be vervain.

He had spent most of the time sleeping and when he wasn't he had taken it to drain whatever and whoever crossed his path.

There had been an horrible kind of grayish rash covering parts of his skin.

But he had gotten better in less than 24 hours.

And the second time had been right before meeting the Cullens. He had fed off of someone with vervain in their blood.

He had gotten better in less than 24 hours though.

~~~~~~~~~~
The Major felt like absolute shit.
And thus he did what never failed to put him in a good mood.
He hunted a human down, taking advantage of the angel having gone hunting and Jasper being asleep.
He came across a homeless man and decided no one would miss him. He grabbed him and dragged him into the darkness of an alley, shoving him against the wall and grabbing his face.
-Please don't hurt me! Please I beg-
-Hush .- The Major ordered and the human's mouth clicked shut. Eyes growing vacant.- Ya won' remember this altercation. Won' remember meh either.- At the human's nod he smirked before releasing him.- Yer hand.
The man gave him his hand and he pulled his sleeve up. Carefully, he dragged his claw across the man's skin, bringing the arm up and pressing his mouth against it, the taste of blood was overwhelming but he bit back the urge to tear his throat off. He couldn't rise suspicions, thus he took it to drink it like this.
It ceased half of the fire in his throat and he didn't let go even when the man dropped to the ground. And against his better judgement he released the hand before the blood loss killed him, licking his lips before picking the man up.
He left him infront of the hospital before disappearing into the night.
No one would ever be the wiser. All those at the hospital would know was that the man tried to kill himself.
And that's all they would ever know.
