In the Public Square of Emerald City, everyone has gathered around as they see the Wizard, Dorothy, Madison, and the dogs in a basket by a hot air balloon while Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion were standing on the platform holding onto the ropes. The people cheered to see the wizard but went silence as he began to speak.
"This is positively the finest exhibition ever to be shown...be that as it may. I, your Wizard per ardua and altar am about to embark upon a hazardous and technically unexplainable journey into the outer stratosphere!" he spoke.
The crowd cheer once more and the Wizard spoke more. "To confer, converse and otherwise hob mob with my brother wizards. And I hear by decree that until what time if any I return the Scarecrow, by virtue of his highly superior brains shall rule in my stead assisted by the Tin Man by virtue of his magnificent heart and the Lion, by virtue of his courage. Obey them as you would. Thank you."
Madison smiled as she was about to go home but heard barking that was coming from Toto. She looked at the direction and saw the cat which made Abby barked to and struggling out of her arms. "Abby no!" she said but the Dachshund got out of her arms and ran off along with Toto. "Abby!" "Oh, Toto! Come back! Toto!" the girls shouted as they got off the basket. "Oh, don't go without us. We'll be right back." said Dorothy to the Wizard and ran off. "Stop that dog!" Tin Man shouted.
Madison quickly chased her dog until she finally caught her. "Abby, you know better!" she said. Dorothy finally got her dog but turned around and scream. Madison turned and saw the balloon was taking off. "Oh no!" "Come back! Come back! Don't go without us! Please come back!" the girls shouted as they made it to the platform. "I can't come back! I don't know how it works! Goodbye folks!" the Wizard shouted to everyone as he waved goodbye and the citizens said their farewell to the wizard.
There goes the balloon as it floated off. Madison tilted her head down with disappointment as she held Abby in her arms. Dorothy was in tears. "Oh, now Madison and I will never get home." she sobbed. Madison looked at her friend and place her hand on the girl's shoulder. "Stay with us then, girls. We all love you. We don't want you two to go." said Lion. Madison looked at Lion and smiled a little, "That's really sweet of you, Lion." "Yes, that's very kind of you. But this could never be like Kansas. Auntie Em must have stopped wondering what happened to me by now." "And I know that this world won't be like West Virginia and my family be worried."
Dorothy looked at Scarecrow and spoke, "Oh, Scarecrow what am I going to do?"
Before Scarecrow could reply, something caught his eyes and pointed. "Look, here's someone that can help you." Madison looked up and know what he means. Everyone turned to look up and saw a pink bubble coming down. Some people made room as it landed and all gasp to see that the good witch, Glinda, as appear. Everyone bowed with respect as she walked slowly, smiling to the people and stopped in front of the girls and their friends.
"I'm so glad you're here, Glinda." said Madison as she smiled. "Oh, will you help us? Can you help us?" Dorothy asked. Glinda smiled, "You two don't need to be helped any longer. You've always had the power to go back to Kansas and West Virginia." Madison and Dorothy looked confused. "We have?" they asked. "Then why didn't you tell them before?" Scarecrow asked.
"Because Dorothy wouldn't have believed me. She has to learn it for herself. But Madison has did learn and believe. Didn't you my dear?" she asked. Madison thought for a moment and nod, "I guess I have. Didn't we Dorothy?" she asked. "What have you learned, girls?" Tin Man asked.
"Well, I think that it... that it wasn't enough just to want to see Uncle Henry and Auntie Em or for Madison to see her family. And it's that if we ever go looking for our hearts' desires again, we won't look any further than our own backyard or home. Because if it isn't there, we never really lost it to begin with. Is that right?" Dorothy asked.
Glinda smiled and nod, "That's all it is." "But that was so easy! I should have thought of it for you two." said Scarecrow. "I should have felt it in my heart." said Tin Man. "No. They had to find it out for themselves. Now, those magic slippers and the necklace will take you two back to your homes in two seconds!" said Glinda. "Toto too?" "And Abby?" the girls asked. "Toto and Abby too." "Now?" Dorothy asked. "Whenever you wish." said Glinda.
"Oh, dear. That's too wonderful to be true!" said Dorothy as she and Madison smiled with joy. But as they turned, they sadly looked at their friends. "Oh, it's... It's gonna be so hard to say goodbye. I love you all too." said Dorothy. "And we'll never forget about all of you." said Madison.
They first walked over to Tin Man, who was crying. "Goodbye, Tin Man. Oh, don't cry. You'll rust so dreadfully. Here's your oil-can. Goodbye." said Dorothy as she kissed his cheek. "Now I know I've got a heart because it's breaking." said Tin Man. "Don't be so heart broken. Dorothy and I will always be in your heart." said Madison as she kissed his cheek.
Next, they moved to Lion and gave him a hug goodbye. "Goodbye Lion. I know it isn't right but I'm gonna miss the way you used to holler for help before you found your courage." said Dorothy. "But I never would have found it if it hadn't been for you two." said Lion. Madison smiled as she petted his mane and kissed his cheek.
Then they stopped to face Scarecrow. "I think we'll miss you most of all." said Dorothy as the girls hugged him. Dorothy looked at him and place a kiss on his cheek. Finally, Dorothy faced towards Madison and said, "I'll never forget you, Madison. You were a wonderful friend." she said. Madison smiled as tears fell down to her cheeks. "You too, Dorothy." she said and the two hugged each other.
"Are you ready now?" Glinda asked. "Yes." they replied and turned to her friends. "Say goodbye Toto." "You two Abby." said the girls as they wave their paws to the three and they wave back and then the girls turned back to Glinda. "Yes, we're ready now."
Glinda stood behind Madison and whispered, "Close your eyes, and think about the place you thought of like your home." Madison nodded her head and closed her eyes while Glinda stood behind Dorothy and said, "Then close your eyes and tap your heels together three times." Dorothy closed her eyes and tapped her heels three times. "And think to yourself 'There's no place like home'." said Glinda as she waved her wand around her.
"There's no place like home. There's no place like home." Dorothy repeated over and over. "There's no place like home." Madison whispered until everything went dark like she fell asleep.
