1 week later…
It had taken less than a week for Bowser to firmly establish his reign across the universe. Only a handful of galaxies remained out of his control, but not for much longer. The only group that was even planning a resistance were those aboard the Comet Observatory, which currently resided outside of the Gateway Galaxy. Rosalina, Luigi, and Captain Toad all sat inside the library, discussing what they could possibly do.
"We need to prioritize rescuing the princess. It's what Mario would have wanted…" While everyone had been affected by the loss of Mario, Luigi was taking it especially hard, and there was no doubt that Peach had similar feelings.
"I agree, but we are in no position to launch a rescue mission. The Comet Observatory was crippled in the battle, and won't be able to run for much longer. We need more Power Stars."
"But where can we find some? Didn't Mario find all of them?" asked Captain Toad.
"Not quite. While he found most of them, some were still under the control of Bowser. A few are still scattered across the cosmos, but they should be enough to repair the Observatory. However, I am almost certain that some of them are being guarded by Bowser's minions." She turned to Luigi. "You'll need to get those stars, as while the Toad Brigade is quite capable, they are no match for one of Bowser's generals." His fists clenched.
"I've acted like a coward for too long, and now my brother is dead. I'll make sure Bowser pays for what he did…"
"We can get the easier ones though. Just tell us where they are, and I'll take the brigade immediately!"
"Thank you, both of you. Polari can tell both of you where the stars are located. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to make sure that the Lumas are alright." She left the library as the black form of Polari floated inside.
"Luigi, you'll need to fly to one of the galaxies within each dome. When you're inside of the dome, I'll tell you which galaxy you need to go to, okay?" Luigi nodded.
"Let's a go!" He stepped out of the room, leaving Polari to discuss matters with the captain. He looked out into the stars, desperately missing his brother. "I will avenge you, bro. Bowser will not get away with this!" He made his way to the Terrace, which was known to have some of the calmer galaxies. Polari was already waiting for him inside.
"Welcome! You'll be traveling to the Good Egg Galaxy for this star. It appears to be guarded by someone named Lemmy Koopa."
"So Bowser has already given the Koopalings galaxies to control? Just what I needed." The launch star was already in the room, waiting for Luigi to use it. He pulled off his cap as the baby Luma leaped into his arms. It had appeared to him just after Mario's defeat, giving him the same abilities it had given Mario. Luigi placed the cap back on his head and stepped into the star.
"Good luck, Luigi!" Polari shouted as Luigi flew into space.
