Chapter 13
The other bots and cons made it to Velocitron. They saw Hot shot. "Hot shot there you are we have come to take you home," Bluestreak said.
"It is great to see you guys but there is something I must do here first before I go home," Hot shot said.
"What is that?" Optimus asked.
Hot shot explained the whole thing. "So this race is suppose to decide who gets the hand of Velocitron's human princess if so he so wishes and something else?" Optimus asked.
"Yes, I care very much for her, we became close since I got here, and I thought if I raced in this race and I win, I can get the wish and I can help Override, maybe I can get that law changed, this a males only race and I don't want someone I care about forced into a loveless marriage," Hot shot said.
"Hot shot this sounds pretty risky," Jetfire told him.
"I know it is but I won't know until I try," Hot shot said.
"Hot shot is right he must try," Lightstar said.
"Very well Hot shot the race will go on, so just be careful I think many of these bots will do what it takes to win," Optimus told him.
"I understand Optimus," Hot shot said.
A bit later Hot shot introduced them to Override. "So Override are you going to be the next leader of Velocitron?" Bluestreak asked.
"Not exactly when my father's next birthday comes in three months and he is set to retire because he is old, there will be another race," Override said. "In this race, it will determine who will be the new leader, as the child of a leader I'm not allowed to compete," she said.
"Why must things like this be decided through racing?" Lightstar asked.
"Our culture has been built on racing, we do it to decide everything," Override said. "But this is the way my home is," she said.
"They also decide who gets your hand through racing too I see," Scavenger said.
"Yes, it's normally done for many girls not just me, it was a law passed down by our first leader who was sexist towards women," Override said. "My father says after the one who wins gets his wishes he and the girl get married when the two become of age. I don't like that mostly because now that I am going to turn sixteen in two days the race will start and I will be forced to one I don't even love." she said.
"So when a girl turns sixteen is when this race is done?" Hyperia asked.
"Yes or when a the father decides, each father on Velocitron is different." Override said.
"Can't the law be changed?" Starscream asked.
"My father says he doesn't think the council here on Velocitron would go for it because they might be traditionalists, he says they might if one wins the race for the daughter of the leader uses the wish to abolish the law," Override said. "He said if that happens the engagement will be broken off and then the leader's daughter and the rest of the girls here can marry for love." she said.
"That is what my plan is," Hot shot said.
"Hot shot, you are going to do that?" Override asked.
"Yes," Hot shot told her.
"Thank you," Override said.
Everyone understood and got Hot shot ready for the race. The next day the race was about to begin. "Everyone we have an exciting engagement race to do to see who will get the hand of the princess Override." the announcer said. "Now we have the favorite Stoker, we have a wild man Swerveturn, we got the bad boy Bumpoff, and we got a newbie Hot shot from the planet Cybertron who is half Velocitronian. They are getting in there vehicles and now they are ready to start." he said.
The lights started to turn colors then it turned green. The four of bots took off. Hot shot was behind Bumpoff who was in third and he was doing well. Hot shot soon passed Bumpoff and was in the third place mark.
The race was going well and Hot shot was nearing the end of the first lap. Once crossing the line the second lap had begun. Hot shot was trying to keep Bumpoff from passing him. Then he got way a head of Bumpoff who used to much speed trying to out do Hot shot with fancy moves.
Swerveturn was going strong and Hot shot was on his tail and managed to pass him. Meanwhile Stoker was speeding really fast and showing off. Swerveturn like Bumpoff got tired.
Hot shot was heading towards Stoker who was trying to shake Hot shot off by going at top speed. Hot shot hung back and he was waiting until the final lap. The final lap was upon them and Hot shot saw toward the end Stoker was tired and slowing down. Hot shot took the chance and sped up as fast as he could and was neck in neck with Stoker who despite being tire sped up.
"I know I can do this, everyone is believing in me I must do this, for my friends, for my family, and for Override," Hot shot said and the sped up and then Hot shot passed Stoker and won the race.
"Everyone! Hot shot has won the race, now he will get his wish." the announcer said.
"What is your wish Hot shot?" Drivebuster asked.
"I wish that there were no more engagement races," Hot shot said.
The crowd gasped.
"I don't like how you treat ladies around this planet, and I dislike the idea of a loveless marriage so think about your daughter and all of you in the council think about your daughters and granddaughters do you think they should be forced into this so put yourselves in their place, that is what I did when I found out this was happening to Override so I did this to help her," he said.
The council agreed with Hot shot and the law was abolished. "So Override would you like to come to earth with me and my friends, I know you will love it there," Hot shot said.
"I don't know," Override said.
"You showed me what makes up your universe let me show you one of the planets that make up mine," Hot shot told her.
"Okay then I will, can I father?" Override asked.
"Whatever makes you happy makes me happy go to earth and help the Autobots and Decepticons, and I know if your mother were here she would be so proud of you like me," Drivebuster said.
"Thank you," Override said.
Then they left for earth now with a new ally and friend in Override.
