Okay, just to set things straight here, I don't own Naruto or Boruto or anything related to the two (all rights reserved to Masashi Kishimoto). Also I'm not saying that I can create a better story than Kishimoto, I obviously can't. I haven't seen Boruto, only read up to Chapter 8. Purposefully, so that I could have imagination to create new arcs for this Boruto rewrite. What I'm simply doing is taking up a story and then building upon characters that I have at my disposal. I'm simply making it similar to the OG Naruto we all know and love.

That aside, enjoy the story.

A pair of warriors face off on the destroyed faces of the Hokage.

"To think you'd be this strong, Kawaki!" A teenage boy with golden locks of blonde hair struggled. He wore a black jacket with pink markings on the sleeves, a black cape with pink on the insides and black trousers with pink at the bottom. He wore a brown cowboy-style belt with matching modern cowboy boots that were open at the toes. He then had a matching pouch at the back. It was made of brown leather and was concealing something that Boruto was saving. How had things gotten like this? He asked himself this. It was as if he had fallen into a deep coma and woken up to see the world like this. It was as if a few years had gone by eagerly waiting to lead the world into unavoidable peril. He should have known. He had expected things to get like this but he had pushed it into the back of his mind. After all, it seemed highly unlikely at the time. He couldn't have known.

"I'll be sending you to meet the Yellow Devil, Boruto." Kawaki retorted darkly. This only begged the question Where had he sent to so-called Yellow Devil He looked slightly older than Boruto and much better for wear. He had spiky, unkempt black and blonde hair. He had deep, bloodlusted yellow eyes and was wearing a black scarf around his neck. He had an open, smart almost school shirt that left his chest exposed, he had a black fabric band around his waist with a belt that was a deep shade of purple on it. His trousers matched his shirt and he wore a black cape. His shoes weren't visible but we could see that they were black. He had dark, olive skin and his face was a mixture of calmness, rage and arrogance. Boruto couldn't decide which one his face showed the most. His emotions were hard to read. His left side was mainly covered in black markings. They were on the left side of his face, his left arm and his chest.

Boruto's grip on his sword tightened as a look of sadness spread on his face and he looked down at the ground in shame, "Did things really have to turn out like this?" He asked Kawaki, already knowing the answer, only wanting to hear it for himself.

Kawaki paused for a moment, as if to reflect on past experiences before lifting his left arm and clenching his fist, the markings on his body noticeably turned into a blazing red, "Yes." He replied sharply, "The age of the ninja, is over."

Boruto reached into his pouch and pulled something out. It was a headband. It was black with a silver plate on it with a representation of a leaf on it. It was the forehead protector of Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. It had a perfect horizontal line drawn across of it with another line that was slightly less accurate, it was diagonal and intersected with the first. Kawaki looked almost shocked and it was seen that he looked older than many would have thought. He adjusted himself and pulled the headband on and it was seen that the diagonal line went perfectly with the line across his left eye, "Even so," he began, closing his left eye, "I still am," he continued, perfectly adjusting the headband and maintaining a straight face. His own markings appeared on the right side of his body. Kawaki looked almost shocked and terrified, knowing something we didn't. Boruto opened his eyes. The main focus, naturally his right eye. It revealed a blank eye with a pupil that was barely even visible, "A ninja." He finished. Posing by using his left arm to perform a hand seal with one arm, using his arm with the markings which were just black to clutch his sword horizontally in front of him.

The two rushed at each other before the scene shifted to a Konohagakure Shinobi forehead protector.

Yes, I am a ninja.

A younger Boruto, wearing the same thing as his teenage counterpart minus the cape, was shown looking at the headband before looking forward seriously at some framed photos.

But there was a time when I held a deep resentment towards ninjas.

For what they had done to my father, the greatest ninja in the village, the Yellow Devil.

It is shown that Boruto is staring at a picture of an adult wearing orange and black garbs, with spiky blonde hair, carrying a smiling Boruto on his back with a massive grin on his face.

We flicker over to the grand statue of Naruto Uzumaki before we go back to Boruto.

Lemme just tell you this right off the bat, this isn't a story of a boy aspiring to become Hokage. That was my dad's story. He didn't become Hokage though, he left that job to his friend, Shikamaru. He wanted to still be a field ninja. People still call him the Honourary Hokage, he does the job, minus the paperwork. Boruto is seen going down the stairs. Make no mistake. We see Boruto's front door, with all the shoes lined up. We spot Boruto's almost instantly. Start to finish. This is my story.

We now see a grinning Boruto, walking down the corridor and turning a corner, entering a room.

But...

We see several littered scrolls all over the place.

Whether I liked it or not at the time wasn't important. My dad was a major part of my story. We see Boruto staring ahead at his dad, wearing a black jumper with the Uzumaki crest on his back. Facing all the scrolls. He was currently working on a new Wind Style Jutsu.

The ninja who realised his dreams...

The Honourary Hokage.

Boruto smiled as his father turned round to look at him and waved, giving him a cheeky grin back. The two held the grin for a long time before they burst out laughing. Naruto looked back at the scrolls in front of him and sighed. Boruto nodded in understanding and turned his back, closing the door behind him.

And...

My tale begins as I began rebelling against all Shinobi for what they had done to my father by breaking the most important rule: Follow the rules.

"Hello Mum, hey Hima!" Boruto greeted his mother and younger sister a little too eagerly, grabbing his boots and slipping them on.

"Boruto! So glad you could join us." Boruto's mother exclaimed, pulling her son in for a hug.

"Yeah, big bro! Good luck!" Himawari added, joining in. She took after her mother and was Boruto's twin, older by 10 minutes. She has inherited the Byakugan eye, something Boruto hadn't. They felt another force pulling them in.

"Yeah! Graduation Exams are always fun! I remember mine but I'm sure you guys won't want to hear that story again for the thousandth time." Boruto's father smiled, joining in with them.

"Please don't, Naruto. Boruto has already tried to avoid you this morning." Boruto's mother explained softly into Naruto's ear.

"Boruto!" Naruto began, rounding on the youngest child of the Honourary Hokage.

Cripes Mum! I thought you caught on enough to not mention this! Now I'm dead!

"Hey, dad! Don't you have work to be doing?" Asked an innocent Himawari, saving Boruto in the process.

Naruto's mood lightened, "I've got a few clones down at the office and a few in the guest room. This Jutsu is coming along nicely, plus Shikamaru needs some help now and again. Family supercedes work, Hinata. I wouldn't miss this for the world. Himawari, you better pass too. I'm seeing you off Boruto, Hima" Himawari was slightly older than Boruto and had done slightly better at the Academy. She was a natural born prodigy, unlike her older brother possessed a Doujutsu. Nobody seemed to know the reason why. Boruto has felt a little bummed out that he didn't possess the Byakugan but he was strong nonetheless.

"Thank dad! I'll ace these exams! Just you watch!" Boruto grinned as they finally let go of each other.

"You better!"

"Listen up class. I'm going to cut straight to the chase. As you all know, today is the day of your Graduation Exams. There is the written exam which will last 45 minutes and has 30 questions. That will be the first task. The second will be a test of your Jutsu. You will be called in one by one to complete a practical Jutsu of our choosing, we will not tell you what it is. Then will be the final test. The matchups. You will face the other class which, as you all know, is lead by Kiba-sensei. That's why Kiba-sensei is here today to fill in. To help with the exams. You may already know this but I sent an important notice home with you guys that we were going to have a special guest today. That's why he is here today. He has already examined his class yesterday and that is why you were free of school yesterday. I had to help him in case of a rare chance of him playing favourites." The teacher looked round at the class who were quite shocked. He was wearing the standard uniform for Chunins and Jonins and was wearing black glasses that left his eyes unexposed. These exams looked quite tricky. No one knew who would pass but Boruto was confident that he would. He looked over at Sarada, she'd probably pass as well. He could get annoyed by someone so serious. She was so obsessed about her goals. The teacher walked around the class with Kiba and handed out some papers, "You need at least 15 questions right to pass? It's a Genin level test and without Genin knowledge, you cannot pass. I will say no more. No cheating. If you are caught cheating, you fail."

The questions were quite hard. They needed at least 15 to pass. Boruto looked at Question 1, "Your Jonin Leader tells you to set up a tent for the night, you hear screaming and voices near your tent. What do you do?" Simple, you go back to your Jonin Leader and report back to them. Boruto was able to answer all 30 of the questions and guessed that he had passed with flying colours. It was simple. At the end of the test, he was grinning and handed his test to Kiba. He knew that this part of the test was the easy bit. They handed the tests in and the answers were marked. Everybody was shocked at how quick Chunins worked. Within half an hour, all 27 tests were marked. For the second test, they were called into a separate room one by one, Boruto's name was last. Everyone else was smiling. They had all passed. Then they looked at Boruto, he was smiling now. Time to ace this exam. The Jutsu was one Boruto could easily perform.

It turned out he had to perform the Clone Jutsu? The Replication Technique. A simple Jutsu. He decided to play with the two Sensei's.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" The two adults' eyes popped out as Boruto filled the entire room with Shadow Clones and they all begin smiling with their hands behind their heads, Well. Do I pass?" Boruto asked in a casual voice, the two exam proctors both needed tissues to wipe the sweat from their faces from their surprise. That was unexpected to say the least.

"Just like your father. Eh Shino? P-pass." Kiba stuttered, he wasn't used to seeing someone create that many clones, he had grown used to Naruto doing it but his son still surprised him.

The final exam was outside, in a makeshift ring? The children from Class A and Class B all lined up in wait. Sarada faced a kid from a civilian family in Class B and in one shot, he had won. A boy called Mitsuki had defeated a young girl from the Inuzuka Clan. Kiba's clan. A boy named Shikadai had also won but had complained about it being a "drag." There was also a boy named Inojin, a girl named Chocho. Zakashi Hatake had also easily won. So had Sarada's twin brother, older by nineteen minutes, Zabuto Uchiha and so much more. Everyone from Class A had won and passed. They were now all wearing their ninja headbands. The last kid from Class B stood up against Boruto. Everyone was laughing, Boruto was easily going to win this fight. If you even bothered to call it a fight. Well at least the winner of this fight was decided. Boruto would easily be promoted to Genin. promoted to Genin they all thought.

"Perform the respect sign." Shino ordered the two and they followed.

"Begin!" Kiba said and threw his hand down, instantly, the kid from Class B rushed in and threw a punch down at Boruto, who threw himself to the ground and quickly rugby tackled the kid, stomping on him. He gasped for air as he could barely stand up. Boruto held a Kunai to his throat as he turned to Shino and Kiba, raising an eyebrow..

"I've passed. There's no need for me to pity myself by continuing this embarrassment of a fight. This match is over." Boruto calmly stated. He didn't seem angered or anything, just calm, he didn't expect anything from Class B's top prodigy. That was the B class. No one there deserved to be Genin.

"Pass." Shino called, Boruto stood up from the boy, dragging him to his feet. Boruto state ahead at him. His face showed nothing about his emotions. The boy looked scared. Boruto looked at him with absolutely no emotion. It was a statement telling him that if this wasn't a Genin Exams, he'd be dead. That Kunai would've penetrated his brain and he'd be as good as dust under a mattress. Utterly useless. He stared down at the ground, he'd try again next year. He would graduate and surpass Boruto.

"Perform the Unison Sign." Shino told them and Boruto did so with the other kid. He walked over to the two adults and received his headband, "I thank you for everything you've done at the academy. Shino-sensei. You too, Kiba-sensei." He placed his two hands out and as Kiba handed out the last of the forehead protectors, Boruto bowed down before standing up and walking back to the crowd of newly graduated Genin.

"Great work Boruto! That's my son! Himawari! That's not my daughter, you're too good for us!" Naruto praised his children, hitching them up on his back. He had instantly spotted the forehead protectors. Naruto was wearing the standard flak jacket for Chunins and Jonins, indicating that he was one himself.

"We're extraordinarily proud of you, Boruto! Hima!" Hinata grinned from ear to ear, she wasn't exactly surprised that Boruto had passed but she was still happy for her son.

"Yeah, big bro, Boruto! You're so cool!" Himawari stared in fascination at the leaf headband on Boruto's forehead. She knew that the two of them would pass but she was still happy that her brother had passed.

"Yeah! Thanks, you guys! Now I have to wait a week to find out what team I've been assigned to. Wait a minute dad, do you know?" Boruto looked down at his dad as they walked home.

"Nah, not yet anyways. I'm being assigned to a team in the next few days." Naruto replied, still smiling, proud of his son.

"But you're 30!" Boruto pointed out.

"Better late than never. Plus I'm not that old, Old Man Hiruzen was still kicking in his 50s. I got more years in the tank." Naruto told his son encouragingly.

"You'll be a great Shinobi, Boruto. Greater than your father! You too Himawari!" Hinata shot him a thumbs up and Himawari hugged her mother and also smiled.

They were all happy.

Team 5, led by Rock Lee, Denki Kaminarimon, Metal Lee, and Iwabee Yuion, Team 6, led by Tenten, Kina Inuzuka, Shino Aburame Junior and Kargetsu Uzumaki Team 7, led by Naruto Uzumaki, Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki, Team 8, led by Choji Akimichi, Jin Kaminari, Kaito Kawanami and Burika Nekoka. Team 9, led by Sasuke Uchiha, Himawari Uzumaki, Zabuto Uchiha and Zakashi Hatake. Team 10, led by Sakura Haruno, Inojin Yamanaka Akimichi, Chōchō Akimichi Yamanaka, and Shikadai Nara. Teams 11, 12, 13 and 14 are still Genin Ninjas, Team 15, led by Konohamaru Sarutobi, Wasabi Izuno, Sumire Kakei and Namida Suzumeno, all teams up to Team 24 are currently active, Team 25, led by Ino Yamanaka, Hōki Umino, Hako Kuroi, and Renga Kokubo, all teams from 26 through 39 are active, Team 40, led by Hinata Hyuga, Dōshu Goetsu, and Tsuru Itoi." Shikamaru assigned the 9 Jonins to their Genin teams. It was their first teams. All of them were from the original Konoha 12. Except from and Shino were each teachers at the Academy and Neji had died during the Fourth Great Shinobi World War. Of course Shikamaru was the Hokage, he couldn't have a team.

Now I'm here. This is one week after my Graduation Exams. This is me walking out of the guest room, dad's makeshift office.

"I think you're going to enjoy your team, son!" He heard Naruto call through the door.

"See ya!" Boruto called sprinting towards the front door.

"See ya!" Naruto replied, you could hear his smile through the door.

Ah Boruto! If only you knew who's team you were on. I'm putting you through the grinder.

"Bye Mum! Where's Hima?" Boruto waved at his mum as he realised that his sister was missing.

"Oh! Himawari!" Hinata called towards the stairs.

"Yes!" Himawari shouted, making her way towards the staircase.

"Are you ready?" Boruto asked her, smiling at her.

"I'll catch up, go ahead of me." Himawari told him, touching the bottom stair. Boruto turned to leave as he sprinted towards school, moments later, he found Himawari by his side, "I wonder who's team you'll be on." She thought aloud.

"Yeah! It really makes you think! I also wonder who my Jonin Sensei will be." Boruto added onto her previous thoughts.

"Do you have an ideal team?" She asked her brother with curiosity.

"Well, not really. I know the Ino-Shika-Cho will be one team. They always are. So I guess I wouldn't mind that Mitsuki. He amuses me. Always sticking by my side and he's simple-minded. He just likes to do what I do. Then if we use the One-kunoichi method, I guess I'll be paired with Sarada. She's strong and has plenty of knowledge. That'll be a decent team." Boruto pondered, placing a hand under his chin and looking at the sky as he thought, "How about you?"

"Hmm? I don't know, if you have an Uchiha, I'd like one too. Zabuto's usually nice to me anyways and we get along well. I don't know who else. Mum and Dad always tell us to treat Zakashi with utmost respect so I wouldn't mind him." Himawari came up with her own team.

"Ah, I see. We're here now anyways! See ya!" Hmawari looked at the academy building. Before waving, turning to the entrance for second years.

"Bye sis!" Boruto turned to the fourth years' entrance and walked through the gates. As he found his classroom, he plopped himself down at the corner before he saw Mitsuki walking in and sitting next to him.

"Alright class! Now that you are all freshly promoted Genin, I will be assigning you to your teams. You will work in three-man cells, led by a Jonin, who will be responsible for your training and the missions you undergo. You are expected to wear that headband with pride and honour. Without further ado, allow me to introduce the teams..." Shino began to call out a list of names, Boruto struggled to stay awake as he simply didn't care for the other teams, " Teams 1 through 4 are currently filled with Genin already. The first team we will cover is Team 5, Team 5, led by Rock Lee, Denki Kaminarimon, Metal Lee, and Iwabee Yuion," These three instantly moved to sit together and high-fived each other. They were being led by Metal's dad! He rocked! "Team 6, led by Tenten, Kina Inuzuka, Shino Aburame Junior and Kargetsu Uzumaki" Shino smiled a little when reading his son's name out. He also smiled when he read Kiba's daughter's name out. Metal knew that his mum would put them through a lot of weapons training. They then turned to look at Kargetsu and sat with him. He was the son of two former Akatsuki members. He was part of the same clan as Naruto, Boruto and Himawari. The Uzumaki Clan was slowly rebuilding. "Team 7, led by Naruto Uzumaki, Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki," Boruto, Mitsuki and Sarada all looked shocked, excited and amazed. They were being led by Naruto Uzumaki. Arguably the strongest Shinobi in the world. Only rivalled by Sasuke Uchiha. Boruto was with his dad, Mitsuki was with Boruto and Sarada was glad to be under the guidance of Naruto. Sarada moved next to Mitsuki, who was already with Boruto, "Team 8, led by Choji Akimichi, Jin Kaminari, Kaito Kawanami and Burika Nekoka." These three sat together, "Team 9, led by Sasuke Uchiha, Himawari Uzumaki, Zabuto Uchiha and Zakashi Hatake." Himawari had been right. Zabuto was excited to be with his dad and Zakashi was glad to be with his dad's pupil, "Team 10, led by Sakura Haruno, Inojin Yamanaka Akimichi, Chōchō Akimichi Yamanaka, and Shikadai Nara." These three were already together so there was no movement involved. They knew that they'd be grouped together. Though they were scared to be with the final member of the modern day Sannin. "Teams 11, 12, 13 and 14 are still Genin Ninjas, Team 15, led by Konohamaru Sarutobi, Wasabi Izuno, Sumire Kakei and Namida Suzumeno," These three also sat together, "All teams up to Team 24 are currently active, Team 25, led by Ino Yamanaka, Hōki Umino, Hako Kuroi, and Renga Kokubo," These three were so happy to be under the guidance of one of the greatest Yamanakas in history. She was extremely strict though, that much they knew. "All teams from 26 through 39 are active, Team 40, led by Hinata Hyuga, Dōshu Goetsu, and Tsuru Itoi." That was the final team. Boruto simply just looked shocked. That was the team he had wanted. Mitsuki looked extraordinarily happy and beamed. Boruto and Sarada stared at each other, exchanging a look of daggers. The other teams were announced before Shino dismissed them for lunch break.

"Say, Boruto, Sarada, seeing as we're all on the same team, why don't we all eat lunch together?" Mitsuki asked his two teammates. He clearly didn't get the mood in this room.

"Hmm, that's a good idea, Mitsuki." Sarada smiled at him, Mitsuki looked to Boruto,

"I think I'll be having lunch on my own." Boruto told the other two, walking towards the door before Sarada stood in front of the doorway, blocking Boruto's path to freedom.

"We need to learn to bond as a team! Boruto. Stop acting all high and mighty and form relationships with the rest of us." Sarada berated him, looking utterly furious.

"A team of Genin doesn't require to eat lunch with each other, Sarada. I can just jump out of the window." Boruto didn't even seem to care.

"Boruto does have a point." Mitsuki tried to put in, Boruto was completely shocked,

This guy was so one-track-minded.

"Why don't you just try bonding with your new team. It increases our teamwork and output on missions which require us to work as a unit." Sarada brought up a good point which Boruto did recognise.

"Fine, if you insist."

They found themselves eating lunch, Mitsuki and Sarada were exchanging a conversation about Mitsuki not actually having any lunch but Mitsuki said that he didn't need to eat or drink. Sarada just didn't question it any further.

*Say, we do need to elect a team leader." Sarada told the other two, mainly Mitsuki.

"We don't need to but it will be most important on missions, in that case, I recommend making me, Boruto Uzumaki, the leader of Squad Number 7. I am the son of the Honourary Hokage and our Jonin Leader, therefore giving me more priority than you two." Boruto elected himself.

"Well I'm the daughter of the other Hokage and a worthier candidate for Squad Leader." Sarada frowned at Boruto's arrogance.

"Your father isn't as well known in the village than mine. Mine is also our leader. Therefore I have more priority in the village than you." Boruto countered, maintaining a straight face.

"Don't think you're so special, Uzumaki! I'm a better candidate for the position!" Sarada clearly began to get agitated a little. Boruto could be so annoying.

"It's only fair of we ask somebody else, what are your thought, Mitsuki?" Boruto turned to the person next to him who had been watching the two argue with amusement.

"I did want to remain a neutral party in this conflict but since Boruto asked me to, I'd say that Boruto is better suited for the position, seeing as the Hokage is the highest role in the village, his father could easily have been the Hokage but he decided to not go through the paperwork and do all the actual missions for the village and also decided to take us as his students and his son does hold the most priority out of the three of us. Therefore I'd elect Boruto." Mitsuki brought up a fair argument.

"Thank you Mitsuki." Boruto thanked his teammate who smiled at him.

"Do you seriously just think of Boruto?" Sarada asked him in disbelief.

"To me, Boruto is the Sun and I am the Moon."

At the time I couldn't understand what he meant, I'd find out sooner or later though.

"Well, that wraps things up. I see that Boruto is our Squad Leader." Sarada sounded slightly envious of Boruto.

"We're done here. Meet in the classroom after lunch break."

They found Boruto already in the classroom as a stampede of children stormed through the classroom. They were all excited about meeting their Jonin Senseis. Mitsuki sat next him and Sarada sat next to Mitsuki.

Naruto Uzumaki appeared as the last Jonin Leader, Boruto knew his antics very well, he was a great friend of Kakashi who had rubbed off on him, therefore being late. He had looked up to him as a sort of father figure when he was just a kid. He was also good friends with Uncle Konohamaru, he had married and had a child with his aunt, Hanabi Hyuga, "Team 7, meet me on the rooftop." He had ordered. Boruto had instantly perched himself on the windowsill and began climbing to the roof, nobody looked on in awe, they were used to this, they weren't used to what Mitsuki did though. Mitsuki stretched his arms out and attached them to the wall, pulling himself up. Sarada did the same thing as Boruto, expected that she sprinted up the wall, "Looks like you avoided all of my traps by walking up the wall. Well done." Naruto was waiting for them on a bench. He gestured towards the bench in front of him as they walked over to it and sat down, Boruto in the middle.

"So, Dad, what exactly do you want us to do?" Boruto asked him, fixating his headband into place.

"Firstly, I want you to treat me with respect and call me Naruto-sensei, in a working environment." Naruto suggested, slightly embarrassed at being called "Dad."

"Sorry Naruto-sensei." Boruto apologised and Naruto made a sort of hmph noise.

"Now I'd like you all to tell us a little about yourselves." Naruto ordered, smiling round at his team. He shrugged as he spoke as if not putting his full attention on them.

"Like what Da- Naruto-sensei?" Boruto asked. Not quite understanding what his father meant. He also nearly called Naruto, Dad.

"You know," Naruto said, shrugging again, "the usual, name, age, likes, dislikes, dreams, ambitions, hobbies, things like that." Naruto, explained, looking up at the sky as he spoke. He still wasn't fully focused on his team. He hadn't fully warmed up to them it seemed.

"Help us out here, Sensei, you should go first, seeing as it's your icebreaker." Sarada requested.

"That's right, after all, you came up with the game, therefore you should give us a demonstration." Mitsuki added.

"Me? Well, where do I start? My name is Naruto, I am 30 years old. My likes are training, fighting and spending time with friends and my family and ramen, especially Ichirakus. My dislikes are anyone who spreads evil, arrogance, war, the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the water into the cup of ramen. My dream is to become the Greatest Shinobi to have ever lived. My ambitions are to train you guys up to the Rank of Jonin and beyond. My hobbies are reading, writing, training and teaching, chilling with friends and family and eating ramen. Alright, that's done. How about you, in the middle." Naruto looked at Boruto, not spoiling his son's introduction. Everyone else looked at Boruto.

"I guess it's me," Boruto muttered coldly, "Well, where do I start? My name's Boruto Uzumaki. I like a lot of things, but I also don't like a lot of things. I don't have a dream and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you guys anyways. I also don't really have any hobbies and the ones I do have are none of your business so don't ask." Boruto explained, looking round at the group.

("All he told us was his name. That's a start at least.") Sarada thought.

("He's kind of a mixture of Kakashi and Sasuke.") Naruto narrowed his eyes at his son.

"Wow Boruto! I never knew you had so much going on in your life." Mitsuki beamed, the other just all fell to the ground, headfirst.

"N-next!" Naruto called out, using a handkerchief to wipe off his sweat.

"My name is Sarada Uchiha, I am 12 years old. My likes are peace, saving people and spending time with my mum and dad. My dislikes are conflict, war and people who think that they're better than everyone else. My dream is to become the next Hokage! My ambition is to train myself in order to achieve that goal. My hobbies are reading, writing, learning and training." Sarada explained, giving a much more detailed answer than Boruto did.

("Have me and Sasuke switched kids?") Naruto asked himself stupidly.

"Alright, how about you, the last one." Konohamaru smiled at Sarada before turning to Mitsuki.

"My name is Mitsuki, age is not my concern. I don't have any likes but if I did, it would be Boruto. I do not particularly dislike anything. My dream is to truly connect myself with my Sun as I am the Moon. My ambition is to carry out Boruto's will no matter what the cost. I don't have any hobbies." Mitsuki was smiling the whole time as all he said was literally his name and mostly mentioning Boruto.

Boruto stared at Mitsuki: This was creepy.

("Orochimaru? Seriously! This kid is just a servant for Boruto!") Naruto looked away before turning back.

"Wow! Really interesting" Naruto lied, he had a very good feeling who Mitsuki's Sun was, "That will be enough! I believe we all understand one another quite well. Formal training will begin tomorrow. Our first task involves only the members of this cell." Naruto explained.

"What is the task, Master?" Mitsuki asked.

"You know, a basic mission. Survival training." Naruto told him as if it was the most casual thing on this planet.

"But why would that be a mission? Our days back at the academy were already full of survival training!" Sarada argued.

"But you'll have to survive against me. It won't be your simple practice day at the academy" Laughed Naruto and shortly after, Boruto looked shocked as he realised something.

"What on Earth are you laughing about?" Sarada asked angrily.

("She takes so much after he mother. Is she mine and Sakura's secret lovechild? Is Boruto the secret child of Sasuke and Karin. You never know!"") Naruto joked in his head.

"Oh, nothing much, it's just that, if I were to tell you, you'd probably want to chicken out." Naruto told them with a wide smile.

"That isn't funny, Naruto-sensei?" Boruto told him calmly. Whatever Naruto found quite amusing, Boruto clearly did not.

"Of the twenty-seven members who graduated your academy class, only nine will actually be accepted as true Genin ninja. The other eighteen must go back for another year for additional training. The test we are about to perform has a failure rate of over 66%." Naruto explained darkly. Opening his eyes wide and raising the slightest bit of Killing Intent. It threw them off guard a bit. Mitsuki remained calm.

Sarada frowned, pushing her glasses up, Mitsuki looked at Boruto who was smiling so he also decided to smile.

"Hahaha! See? I think you're chickening out already!" Naruto laughed jokingly, trying to lighten the mood.

"We'll meet on the practice field tomorrow at five o'clock sharp so that I can assess all your skills and identify all of your strengths and weaknesses. Bring all of your ninja tools and weapons and equipment. I'd advise you not to have breakfast before we start unless you enjoy throwing up. The details of your assignment are in this scroll, memorise it and don't be late. I'd recommend being early." Naruto menacingly looked round at them. Daring them to object. He clearly took after his master.

"Throw up? How hard can a little survival exercise be?!" Sarada pondered. Trying to think of the worse possible outcomes.

("I can't fail! That would mean failing to become the Hokage. I have to pass this exam. No matter what. I will pass!")

Sarada stared at her paper, carefully memorising all the details, Mitsuki swallowed the scroll somehow which hugely grossed out the other three but he seemed to have remembered everything that was in the scroll and Boruto read the scroll a few times before tucking it away into his bag.

"First mini mission, spot all the traps here and neutralise them." Naruto gave out the orders. The team just looked completely annoyed. Their Jonin Leader left. Jumping off the roof.

After they had finished neutralising all the traps (and had been caught in a lot of them in Boruto's and Sarada's case), they went home.

"We're doing the Bell Test, aren't we, Dad?." Boruto plopped his back down on the table and took a seat, pouring hot water in a pot of Miso Ramen. Traditions ran in the family. Himawari did the same.

"I can't say. After all, I can't tell you and even if I could, I wouldn't. Sound familiar. Your introduction was like Kakashi-sensei's all those years ago. I do remember doing that test myself though, way back then. It was no ordinary test. You sure that you can handle that?" Naruto asked his son, in a business-like voice.

"I'd have to, one way or another. I have Mitsuki on my team. He says that I am the Sun and he is the Moon. His dream is to connect the two of us and he strives to carry out my will. So if I want to pass, he'll help me pass to no matter what." Boruto frowned as he relayed the words that had come out of Mitsuki's mouth earlier that day, "He also can stretch his arms out and swallow scrolls. I'm convinced that he doesn't belong to this world." Boruto added on the last part, adding it to the mystery that was Mitsuki.

Naruto seemed amused, ("Orochimaru, you old prankster!") He thought to himself before saying, "Well it seems that's already done, how about the other one?" He asked, ignoring Boruto's previous statement.

"Sarada. Her dad's back in the village currently, so if she asks any of her parents, she'll be able to learn about the test herself. Your the Jonin Leader, so I'm not expecting any help from you. I'm the Squad Leader, the vote was between me and Sarada but Mitsuki elected me. Wait a minute. You already know all this, why'd you ask?" Boruto challenge his father.

"Oh, it's just that I'm sure that Sasuke and Sakura won't give any information on the Bell Test. You'll have to pull through yourselves." Naruto smiled at his son and Himawari nodded in agreement.

"We're also doing a test. I also assume it's the Bell Test." Himawari piped up, telling the others the story of Sasuke's arrival.

Sasuke was the first Jonin in the class. He had looked round towards his team, "Team 9, over here. Get on the hospital roof." He had commanded, he then Body Flickered onto the roof of the hospital, Himawari had climbed up the wall and Zakashi and Zabuto all did the same, they all jumped towards the hospital and arrived on the roof, "Nice work on getting here, it's still nothing compared to what you'll be doing in six months time during the Chunin exams. That's if you make it out alive until that point." They all looked shocked at Sasuke's ruthlessness.

"Now, introduce yourselves. Hurry up, we don't have all the day, I'll start, my name is Sasuke Uchiha. I don't particularly like anything that isn't already clear so I don't find it necessary to speak about my dislikes. I have already fulfilled my dream so I don't need to have another one. Next!" Sasuke put on a "tough guy" act in front of his team in order to induce fear.

"I'm Zabuto Uchiha, I don't have any noticeable likes and I dislike too many things to speak about. My dream is to continue the Uchiha bloodline and fully resurrect our clan. Just like my father has begun to do. I don't find hobbies as things worth talking about. I am ambitious but I have a good feeling that you already know that." Zabuto looked like his father's younger self. He had spiky black hair that reminisced one of Indra. He had dangerous black eyes and was wearing something similar to early part 1 Sasuke's clothes though in black.

("That's my son!") Sasuke thought, nodding before gesturing to the boy at Zabuto's right.

"My name is Zakashi Hatake, my age is written in my file so naturally, it clearly isn't necessary to speak about. Those who speak about their likes and weaknesses clearly have a distinct weakness. Dreams is just a mere word so I do not associate it with someone like me. I do not wish to speak more about myself as this information can be used against me." Zakashi had the same hair as his father and wore the same clothes as child Kakashi. He was a prodigy who was only five. Kakashi had had a kid quite late. He had been rushed to graduate due to being too good for his age and clearly took after his father. He pushed his headband to clear his hair out of it. Himawari kind of liked the two boys.

"Like your father eh? Well then, next!" Sasuke looked at Himawari.

"My name is Himawari Uzumaki," she blushed a little, flustered, "Umm, I am 12 years old and I enjoy quality time with those who are precious to me, the peacetime the Shinobi world currently lives in and my family. I don't find it fair to dislike things so I don't want to share them. My dream is- my dream is- to. I-I don't want to share it!" She couldn't say her dream. She was scared to be laughed at. It was to be an even stronger Shinobi than her father. Her father was on a whole different level though.

"I see you are quite like your mother at your age," Sasuke told her which made her blush and look away, "Come out of your shell once you gain the confidence. Anyways, we have a survival exercise tomorrow, here is the information. Until then, good-bye." He handed them the scrolls and Body Flickered away.

"That's what happened." Himawari looked down at the ground, embarrassed at her shyness. The scroll had explained about only 3 teams passing, "Maybe Sakura's team have the same test."

"Yeah, the Ino-Shika-Cho don't need a Bell Test. They already qualify for Shinobi. We're just waiting for the other teams to have their say to see if we need a test for them." Naruto explained, they nodded. It made sense, "Anyways, rest up. You have a big day tomorrow. The real Graduation Exams. Until then, I won't say anymore."

Boruto had slept uneasily that night. He needed to pass tomorrow's test!

He was going to be part of the new era's Legendary Sannin.

Boruto and Himawari both left the house at the same time, their mother was sleeping and Naruto was already out of the house. They parted ways as Boruto nearer his training ground, Himawari gave him a good luck and a good-bye before dashing off to her own training ground.

Boruto found his father, Sarada and Mitsuki waiting for him. He checked his watch, it was only 04:56. He waved at them,

"Glad to find you here, Boruto!" Naruto beamed. Boruto and Himawari had ignored the don't eat breakfast instructions because they knew that they couldn't beat the two strongest Shinobi on empty stomachs.

"So what are the finer details of the test, Naruto-sensei?" Mitsuki questioned his master, after waving at Naruto. He didn't actually eat anything so he could survive without food or drink anyways. Sarada and Zabuto had also eaten without their father knowing.

"I've set this timer until 07:00. You have two hours to grab these bells from me. This way, at least one you will be sent back to the academy. It's that simple. Attack me with the intent to kill, don't hold back. You won't be ab!e to grab the bells otherwise. Also, I'll eat breakfast in front of you if you haven't got any bells before 07:00 and you'll be going back to the Academy." Naruto explained, smiling at all three of them.

Five o'clock had come and gone,

Ready

Set

Go!

Sarada and Mitsuki dived into the trees but Boruto rushed at his dad, attempting a kick, which was easily blocked. He then tried punches, Naruto blocked them all with kne finger, he was still smiling. He used his spare hand to dig into his pouch and picked up a book. Icha Icha Paradise. He began to read. Boruto was angry at his dad for mocking him but he didn't show it.

A Shinobi must never show emotions. It will affect the outcome of the mission and will distract them in-battle.

He knew this rule quite well. His dad was doing it right now, pretending to just be smiling while he was carefully analysing Boruto's fighting style and deciding which block to use. He let out a yawn as he leaned back, dodging Boruto's punch in the process. Boruto attempted to sweep him and he jumped before someone attempted to snatch the bells as they stretched their arm out. Naruto knew that it was Mitsuki.

Teamwork

The point of the test.

Naruto kicked Boruto upwards and grabbed him, using him as a shield so that Mitsuki grabbed him. He used the chance to reel Boruto backwards.

"Listen, Boruto. I understand how much Sarada wishes to be Hokage and how you are our Squad Leader, that way, you two deserve the bells. I'll let you two get them. Though I have a plan. The plan is..." Boruto listened to Mitsuki.

Naruto knew that Mitsuki would have a good plan. He then noticed the disturbance in the air as he dodged a punch from Sarada, with an incredible amount of speed, as the bells jingled, Mitsuki dived in, reaching out for the bells before bending forward, allowing Boruto to jump on his back and propel himself upwards, attempting to wrap his arm around Naruto's neck and Naruto narrowly used a replacement technique to get out of there.

Mitsuki and Boruto were using teamwork and had built upon Sarada's sneak attack. Natural chemistry.

He noticed that Sarada activated her Sharingan as she pointed out where Naruto was hiding, all three of them rushed in to attack. Naruto targeted Boruto first, jumping on top of him, elbowing him, sending him crashing to the ground. Mitsuki tried to grab him but Naruto swatted his arm away. Sarada tried to attack but Naruto lifted one finger and blocked it. He then caught Mitsuki's fist and slammed him into the incoming Boruto.

"Well? Do you give up?" He asked them, as if challenging them.

"Never!" Sarada skidded backwards before running through several hand seals, "Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu!" She shouted before launching an enormous fireball. Naruto is swallowed in the attack. Sarada looks completely shocked as Naruto was caught in the brunt of the attack. She thought that she had killed him before the smoke cleared and Naruto was completely unscathed before the two boys, Mitsuki and Boruto attempted to snatch the bells before Naruto used two backhands to knock them back. They flipped backwards, skidding to a halt, Mitsuki nodded at Sarada and together, the three of them rushed in at Naruto who simply just shifted out of the way, making all three crash into each other. Naruto used some ninja wire and tied them up to a tree.

"Damn it! We should've passed!" Sarada tried to break free, not making any progress.

"If we can't complete a simple mission, then we clearly don't deserve the title of Shinobi." Boruto turned to his former teammate.

"This wouldn't be a simple mission but an S-Rank mission. How are three fresh Genin able to compete against an S-Rank ninja who has been given a "Flee on Sight" warning in a battle." Mitsuki objected, Boruto looked shocked, "But if you do say so then I agree with you. I only live to reflect your light." Boruto lost what little help he had for Mitsuki.

"You three... Pass!" Naruto appeared all of a sudden, smiling and shrugging.

"What? But Naruto-sensei, we failed our mission." Boruto frowned, they couldn't have passed.

"Well, you see, that wasn't the point of the test. The point was teamwork and you guys executed that well. Genin should be able to work well as a unit and shouldn't be ab!e to beat a Jonin anyways. All that Bell stuff was folly." Naruto grinned. He was surprised to find out which teams had passed. They'd be able to try again in three months, therefore another three teams could pass and then there'd be another chance in six months for the final three teams.

"So we passed? Yay!" Sarada cheered, she was one step closer to becoming Hokage.

"Next time we will complete our mission. No matter what!" Boruto clenched his fists.

"Of course, Boruto!" Mitsuki smiled at his best friend.

Naruto untied them and spoke again, "We have proper training tomorrow so get ready! Meet me here at the same time and have breakfast. I know you guys did anyways. Ninjas must always see underneath the underneath." Sarada looked excited at the prospect of training with Naruto, Boruto showed no emotion and Mitsuki looked slightly intrigued.

The three set off home when they saw that Naruto turned into a cloud of smoke. Boruto pouted as he met up with Himawari on the way home and told her that Naruto had on!y been there as a Shadow Clone. Himawari laughed as they discussed their tests,

"It looks like we both passed at least. Though Sasuke-sensei lay it down thick on us. It was Zakashi who realised that we had to work together. Sasuke took all three of us down easily but said that we showed good teamwork. Zabuto had even awakened his Sharingan as Sasuke tortured him for his brashness." Himawari recited. She looked to her brother for an explanation of his test.

"It started with me attacking Dad, he easily dealt with me by reading and using one finger. Mitsuki kind of saved me. Sarada also got folded like a lawn chair. Me and Mitsuki also tried to launch a sneak attack but Dad merely replaced himself with a log, still reading. Sarada used her Sharingan, we attacked as a unit but Dad handled us whilst continued to hand our asses back to us whilst reading a pervy book before tying us up and telling us that we passed." Boruto and Himawari turned a corner, walking down the street and entering their house.

"Wow! I can't wait to get started as a ninja." Himawari smiled, hugging her brother before she ran to her mother. Boruto waved before dashing to his father's room. He opened the door before seeing the real Naruto, fast asleep. He face palmed and turned back to the front hall, joining in with the hug that his sister and mother were currently sharing.

"You two really made Genin!" Hinata teared up, her own team hadn't passed but she had promised to try them out again in three months. They would be training together for the next three months to prepare for their next Genin test.

"Jeez Mum, it's no big deal! We probably would've passed anyways! You knew this, no need to get so touchy!" Boruto was practically being squashed by his family. He was glad that his father was snoring away.

"It's so exciting! The prospect of starting our journey as newbies! I can't wait for the Chunin Exams!" Himawari was already skipping ahead six months. As they pulled away, Boruto asked his sister something.

"Say, Hima, his about we do some training together. Follow me!" He made his way out of the door, breaking into a sprint as Himawari did the same.

He arrived at the same training ground he had done the Bell Test on and set himself into stance, his sister doing the same. He nodded at Himawari as instantly, she sprinted towards him and struck her arm out forwards, towards Boruto's gut. Boruto sucked in his stomach, just enough to avoid it. He grabbed her arm, flipping her over but she landed safely, trying a sweep just before her landing. Boruto jumped grabbing Himawari's arm, flinging her towards the edge of the forest. Himawari landed on the tree, crouching down sideways. She then pushed outwards, diving down with a punch towards her younger brother's face. Boruto reacted by bringing his arms into an X position, putting them in front of his face, blocking the punch. He kicked upwards, Himawari swiftly reacted, grabbed Boruto's foot, she then bent his foot before flipping him over, clasping his hands together and smacking him down to the ground. Boruto pushed upwards, doing a handstand while kicking with both feet at her sister's chin before Boruto spun in his handstand, kicking his sister, who leaned backwards some more, going into a bridge position before diving forwards with both feet, hands at her size, kicking Boruto in the ribs, sending him toppling into a clump of bushes. He found his way back on his feet. Himawari was targeting his Chakra points. Just not too many of them as it was just training and she was normally nice like that anyways. He then created about five hundred Shadow Clones, all targeting Himawari, who used her Taijutsu skills to get rid of as many as she could. They all consumed her until she created an equal amount of clones. They then fought each other until all of Boruto's clones weaved through a wave of hand seals,

"Wind Release: Dust Cloud Technique!" Boruto used this as a way to blind her opponent. Having too good of an eye could also be your downfall. Even if she could see his Chakra points, he created a Genjutsu so that she was seeing that the members of his clone army were in the wrong places. Boruto, attacked his sister, gaining the upper hand over her. The dust cloud cleared as Himawari freed herself of the Genjutsu. She tried to get close to her brother but Boruto was keeping his distance. Well aware of his sister's Taijutsu prowess. He wasn't engaging in hand-to-hand combat with her. That was playing the game exactly as she wanted him to. He resorted to dodging and evading Himawari's attacks, lashing out with the occasional counter, every now and then when the opportunity showed itself. His sister was a formidable opponent and didn't go down easily. He was caught by a flurry of Himawari's blows and felt less Chakra running throughout his body, Himawari released her Shadow Clone Jutsu as Boruto's clones dissipated. He then decided to flip over and land on Himawari's head, she wondered where she went before she felt Wind Style Chakra on her hair. She hadn't ever viewed her brother as that skilled. He was a natural born genius. The Chakra blew her away. He had the time to recover a little before Himawari blocked the Chakra from affecting her even more. Boruto had already plunged his right foot through her stomach with a kick, spinning with a kick on his left foot to her fight cheek. Sending her rocking back and then to the ground on the side, he flew through some hand seals, "Wind Style: Wind Torrent." By holding the Rat seal, a massive tornado appeared, heading for Himawari. She tried to evade the trajectory but it kept following her and when she thought she had evaded it, she rolled directly into the feet of none other than her brother, Boruto Uzumaki, she licked her up and threw her into the tornado.

Himawari performed her own hand seals, "Water Release: Water Barrier Jutsu!" Water rose up from the river nearby and covered Himawari so she wasn't fully affected by the Wind Torrent. She smiled as the attack blew over. She found her way on the ground and her and Boruto both exchanged blow after blow. None of them really making any progress. They finished by spinning and lifting their knees which clashed. Boruto spread an insane amount of Killing Intent, several animals died. Himawari resisted but because she was too concentrated on resisting it, she didn't realise the Water Dragon engulfing her and sending her through the forest. Boruto got into a stance, his Chakra was slowly recovering. Except he was using flashy Jutsus so it was draining twice as fast. At least he had enough Chakra to keep on fighting. The two ran at each other, twisting their bodies to the side and colliding with their fists. Boruto bit Himawari's arm, using the distraction as an opportunity to pepper Himawari with throwing needles. Himawari had been sent to the ground. Boruto smiled as he blocked the lunch from behind? The Himawari in front of him turned to smoke. A Shadow Clone. He had notice due to its attacks not being as potent as the original Himawari. He was lucky to be facing a clone. His Chakra points would've nearly been completely finished if it was an all-out Himawari. He held that position for quite some time before they both flipped back, performing hand seals mid-air,

"Water Style: Water Bomb Jutsu!" They shouted in tandem. Their Jutsus clashed with equal might. It was now a question of who had better control over their Chakra, the Jutsu and who was the strongest naturally. They held the Ram seal or ages as Boruto gave in, his Chakra points slightly damaged. The opposite of the Fireball Jutsu rushed in towards him and he had to think of something quickly. He used a replacement Jutsu with some pigeons. Himawari didn't know that Boruto could do something like that when she found a Kunai pointed to her neck.

"Surrender?" Boruto asked her. Smiling, it was a smart move on his point. This version of replacement used a lot of Chakra but it was almost like teleporting.

"Y-you wish." Himawari muttered weakly, elbowing one of his Chakra points before using the temporary opening to perform a roundhouse kick front-flipping and striking downwards with a kick which Boruto narrowly raised both of his arms to block. The kick had so much force behind it that it pushed his arms down slightly above his head. He struck upwards with a punch, sending his sister rocketing skywards and he sprinted across the ground to meet her when she arrived back down at the ground, clasped his hands together and sent her flying up into the sky once again, "No more flashy Jutsus. Just hand-to-hand combat? Good ol' Taijutsu I guess it is." Himawari spun through the air like a ball, rocketing towards Boruto who wasn't fast enough to react, taking the full force of Himawari's unorthodox spinning attack and it hurt a lot. He did not know how Himawari was so good at Taijutsu that she came up with attacks that looked utterly stupid and dumb but yet they were effective. He looked almost envious. If he trained, he'd get that strong as well. He was sure of it. Himawari came in with a final strike to a vital point and he fell unconscious.

"Well done Himawari!" Naruto praised her, it was another of his clones who had been here the whole day. Setting up for tomorrow's training session wish his team. He had taken the opportunity to watch the fight.

"Thanks dad!" Himawari smiled. She turned to go home, "See ya!" She said, before she ran home with Boruto's unconscious body slumped over her shoulder.

"H-how did she know I was a clone?" Naruto questioned himself. His daughter was good.
