Chapter 1

Hey guys. This story is an alternate timeline to the original story; Rom's Conquest. I have been taking my time with this and this is my first Neptunia story ever published to fanfiction! I appreciate you guys reading, I hope you like it. All feedback is welcome! Original story is from megaswifter21.

Neptune sat on her desk with her legs crossed, her eyes staring at her front door. She knew that at any moment, the door would be swung open. It had been a few hours since Noire left Planeptune to protect her nation, only to fail just an hour later.

Neptune knew as soon as Noire ended the nepcord call, she knew that she had to do something. Neptune knew that Noire would be killed as well when she had heard her friend's door be broken causing a lot of noise in the background. Neptune was, however, glad that Noire didn't go down without a fight and did the right thing sending her people to Planeptune. Afterall, that was her last act to protect her nation as a CPU.

Histoire had left earlier with the citizens of Planeptune and Lastation, including the other Lowee Candidate, Ram to a field outside the city. Neptune knew that it was the safest place for them to be for a portal to be opened up to Ultra Dimension.

A single tear fell from Neptune's eyes. "I'm sorry Histy, Ram, Plutia… everyone."

A few minutes later, her door exploded open, shattering into a million pieces around the room. When the dust and smoke cleared, it revealed two girls by the names Blanc and Rom. They stared at the purple goddess with smirks on their faces.

Neptune stared at them with her lifeless purple eyes. "So. You killed Noire. I should've known."

Blanc looked at the purple haired goddess with disgust. "You don't seem to be bothered by that huh Neptune? Goes to show you really didn't care about that bitch at all."

Neptune shook her head as she transformed, but not into her normal HDD Form. A bright light encased the room temporarily blinding the other two girls occupying the room. When the light cleared, Next Purple was revealed standing in front of them.

"After Nepgear's death, I did grieve. I shared Noire's pain when you had killed Uni in cold blood. But now… with everyone gone… I have no more tears to shed. I can't find it in myself to be sad anymore. Instead, I feel nothing but hatred. Hatred is a strong emotion and I'm going to use it to kill you: The demons who took my family… my friends… away from me." Next Purple finished with slight venom in her voice.

Rom giggled with a dark smirk on her face. "Hehehe, you could join them, you know. It'll be quick and painless. I can promise you that much, Neptune. Don't fight. You won't win. Not as long as I have Blanc by my side!"

Next Purple gave the blue Lowee Candidate a look that could scare even Iris Heart herself.

"You say that as you may, but I can assure you, you won't win. This. Ends. Here!"

No one said anything for a few moments as Next Purple took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Blanc.. Rom.." she shook her head. "No, neither of you are the real Blanc and Rom. They would never kill their own friends. Whatever you are, I will stop you. Even if it means using deadly force. I will avenge my friends and protect Gamindustri!" Next Purple finished as she summoned her sword, pointing towards the White CPU and Candidate.

"Tch. Fired up as usual. How annoying." Blanc sneered as she placed her axe in front of her. "Ready sister?"

Rom nodded as she pointed her staff at Next Purple, ready to attack.

Next Purple didn't flinch or move as she glared at Rom. Both parties stared at one another, waiting to see who would strike first. The trio of girls circled around the room, deciding who was going to throw the first punch. Tired of waiting, Rom fired her ice beam. Neptune wasn't moving as the block of ice approached her quickly.

Rom smirked, "You're an idiot Nep-" she didn't finish her sentence as she was sent flying to the other end of the Basilicom.

Blanc didn't see what had happened as it all occurred in a split second. Next Purple was no longer standing in the spot she was just a moment ago. Blanc raised her axe in an attempt to attack the goddess. Suddenly, she found herself on the ground.

Grunting in pain, she looked around for the woman. "Show yourself you pussy!" Blanc sneered.

"Becareful what you ask for." Next Purple cooed as she appeared in front of White Heart, slashing down her sword, hitting her enemy's axe with a clang.

Next Purple disappeared and reappeared multiple times as she attacked Blanc from all directions, with no intentions of stopping. Cuts appeared on the white goddess's skin as Neptune slashed her with her sword. Blanc screamed in pain as she felt a deep gash open up on her right arm that started to bleed heavily. The corrupt purple goddess laughed at the woman's cries.

Just a few feet away from the battle, Rom grunted in pain as she got up clutching her stomach with her hands. "Gosh she's a meanie. She hit me pretty hard." she muttered

Rom turned her attention to the fight between her sister and Neptune. She saw that her sister was being slaughtered by the purple goddess. Her eyes widened. Grunting again, she picked up her weapon in an attempt to jump back in the fight. Neptune, however, was moving far too fast for her to get a lock on to fire her attack.

'Argh since when was Neptune this fast?!' Blanc thought as she raised her axe again, attempting once again to attack.

Neptune could feel the power of Orochi flowing through her veins. She had never felt such power before. 'More! More! Give me more power! GIVE ME MORE!'

Blanc watched as Neptune's Sword started to glow multiple colors as well as her eyes turning into what seemed to be snake like eyes. A voice in Blanc's mind started whispering to her. Her eyes reverted to their normal red color for a split second. 'Kill Neptune'.

Next Purple had noticed this as she prepared another attack. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Rom flying towards her with her staff, screaming as she approached. Turning her attention away from Blanc, she kicked Rom in the stomach, sending her flying as she smashed her head on the wall on the far end of the living room. The impact knocked her unconscious, leaving a small blood streak as she slid down to the floor.

Blanc saw her sister fall to the ground motionless. 'No… Rom…' She gripped her head as she looked up at Neptune who stood there, smiling devilishly at her. 'Kill Her,' the voice said again, causing Blanc to flinch. "What did you do to my sister?!"

The purple goddess laughed. "I was teaching her some manners. It's rude to interrupt a fight between goddesses. She needs to be a good girl and stay out of it!"

"You BITCH!" Blanc screamed as she raised her axe higher than before attempting to swing down to end Neptune's life. Next Purple launched forward, clanging their weapons together at each swing they threw at each other. No matter where White Heart swung her weapon at her opponent, she had blocked every single one of them. After a few minutes of missing one another, the corrupt purple goddess noticed that White Heart was losing strength. The next contact she made with Blanc's weapon sent the axe to the other side of the room leaving her opponent vulnerable. White Heart's eyes widened when her weapon was knocked out of her hands. 'Shit!' she thought.

White Heart attempted to retrieve her weapon, only for Neptune to start attacking her again, causing many more injuries to appear on the white goddesses skin, ripping her processor to shreds as her blood started seeping through. She screamed in pain, realizing that she could not stand up to the purple goddess. 'This isn't even a battle anymore. This is a slaughter! I'm done for… there's no way I can beat her. I'm completely vulnerable to her attacks. How can I even win in this fight?'

Time seemed to have slowed down as her life started flashing before her eyes. Each attack Neptune had done to her became more violent than the last, she could feel her blood flowing out from her body, she had known soon that she would be dead. 'I'll be dead before it even hits the ground… I'm so sorry Rom… Ram… I just hope that you two know that I've always loved you and that… I'll see you again someday.'

With one final attack, Next Purple kicked White Heart as hard as she could, sending her to the wall. The impact of her body hitting the wall left an imprint. White Heart coughed out blood on impact. Opening her eyes, she saw a blade flying towards her, piercing her left shoulder, causing the CPU to scream in agony. 'Fuck, I've never felt this kind of pain before..' White Heart thought. She attempted to pull the sword out from her shoulder to get back in the fight, but the sword wouldn't budge. She could feel her blood dripping to the floor below her.

Footsteps could be heard as White Heart looked up to see Next Purple slowly approaching her as if she was her prey, her snake eyes piercing into her own. Fear began to draw on White Heart's face as the corrupt goddess smirked at her. 'I've never seen Neptune like this before…why is she acting this way? Is it because of the sword she was using? No, that couldn't be it… could it?' Blanc tried to think of why her enemy was so powerful and why Blanc herself couldn't stop her.

The blue haired woman took a good look at her attacker's eyes. They weren't blue anymore like the sky when she was in her goddess form. Instead, they were green with a black slit in the middle which Blanc would describe to be snake eyes. Her attacker's venomous stare paired with her sinister smile scared the white goddess. Blanc cowered when she hissed, revealing her two fangs.

Neptune noticed the fear in Next White's purple eyes. She could see a slight reddish-orange tint behind them. She smiled as she cupped the white goddesses chin in her hand. She leaned in close so that she was giving eye contact with her.

"Awww, don't worry. I promise not to kill you yet. I think I will finish off that murderer of a sister of yours first. She took my sister's life, Noire's, Vert's, and everyone else we knew. She will get to feel what death feels like. You can watch as I slowly make her suffer a slow and painful death. You'll hear her cries as she BEGS for me to stop while you sit here and listen to it all." Neptune let out a dark, sinister laugh. "When I come back for you, you're gonna wish you had me kill you first."

Blanc's eyes lit up at the mention of her sister. Mustering what little strength she had, she tried to speak, spewing blood all over Neptune's face. As her airwards cleared, she roared in defiance. "You wouldn't FUCKING DARE! You even so much as lay a finger on her, you're DEAD! YOU HEAR ME?"

This had angered the purple goddess as she pushed her sword deeper into the white CPUs shoulder, twisting it. This had caused her to cry in pain.

"You DARE spit in my face?! I'll have you know I can kill you anytime. You're telling me that if I touch your sister, that you're gonna stop me? Hah in your dreams! I've already won, you're the one inside my wall and not me. Believe whatever you want, but now I'm going to go pay your sister a visit." Neptune pulled the sword out of Blanc's shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground with a thud.

As Neptune started walking towards Rom, Blanc grabbed the woman's ankle in an attempt to keep her from reaching her sister. Neptune yanked her foot out of the blue haired CPUs hand and crushed it under her boot, causing the woman to yelp as she felt the bones in her hand crack into pieces.

Next Purple lowered her body so that she was eye level with the white goddess. "Tisk tisk. I wouldn't do that if I were you. You're weak and powerless. You have no chance to stop me. You've sealed your sister's fate just by helping her kill everyone that you loved. Now, be a good girl and WAIT YOUR TURN!" Neptune smashed her head into White Heart's nose causing the goddess to instinctively grab it. She could feel blood pouring from inside.

Before walking away, Neptune glared over her shoulder. "Don't forget. You killed Uni who was dear to my sister and Noire. When I come back, you'll get to feel the pain of being chopped in half too."

Blanc watched as Next Purple walked away towards Rom's body that still lay motionless.

'This is bad. I have to do something!' Blanc thought.

Next Purple approached the unconscious small girl who was face down on the floor. A small amount of blood dampening the back of her head. The goddess flipped the girl onto her back and sat down on the girl's legs. She looked at the blue haired girl for a few seconds deciding on what she was going to do with her first before killing her. With a smirk, Neptune grabbed the girl's throat, waking up the girl instinctively as she grabbed the woman's arms with her hands in an attempt to pry them off her.

As she could feel her throat being crushed by the goddess, Rom attempted to reach for her staff, she looked to where she was grabbing only to realize that it was nowhere near her. The weapon had rolled away when she hit the wall. Rom realized that she was in trouble. She started thinking of ways to free herself from under Neptune. Looking into Neptune's eyes, Rom saw the dark green eyes with a lust for blood, her blood. Fear began to creep into the girl when she saw the woman open her mouth revealing two large fangs ready to strike at any moment.

Meanwhile, a panicked and terrified White Heart was fighting with herself in figuring out what she should do to save Rom. She understood that her injuries were severe and was still losing blood. 'I have to do something. Anything to save Rom!' She tried to grab her axe, but her hand that she used to hold her weapon jolted her with pain as she moved it and her left arm was almost cut off just earlier, but the pain was too much for her to handle.

A voice inside her head suddenly started talking, but it wasn't the same voice as before, it was a different voice. The voice sounded familiar. 'Blanc, this isn't like you. Why would you attack those you love?' Blanc's eyes widened as the mind control she was under was starting to fade. Her Orange-Reddish eyes kept coming back from the purple that they were. 'Neptune isn't herself anymore. You saw that her eyes are green. That isn't Neptune. Someone is controlling her. You also know that both you and Rom haven't been each other this entire time. You both have to do something, or you both will die by Neptune's hands'.

Blanc squeezed her eyes shut. "Shut up, Shut Up! I know that damn it!"

'Kill Neptune. Nobody else matters. Kill whoever stands in your way to take over this pathetic world.' The original voice telling her to kill her friend returned.

Blanc yelled internally to the voice. 'No! I can't. I can't kill my best friend, not her or anyone else! Get the FUCK out of my head!'

'DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO, TO SAVE YOUR SISTER. NOBODY ELSE MATTERS BUT YOU AND HER.'

'NO! I WON'T KILL NEPTUNE!'

While Blanc was in her mental war, Rom wheezed as her throat was still being crushed by the purple goddess. "Nep…tune…. Let.. go… plea…se."

Neptune noticed that Rom's eyes were changing from purple to pink and back to purple again. She smiled again as her captured prey continued to struggle. "Awww but if I let go then you'll just be a bad girl again. I can't let that happen now can I?" She cooed.

Rom's struggle became desperate as she tried with all her strength to wiggle out from under the corrupt purple goddess. Neptune gave a devilish smile. "That's it Rom.. struggle. Show me more of your precious crying face before I take your life away." She said as she raised her sword.

Rom could see her vision starting to go black. 'I.. I can't take much more of this.. She's too strong.'

Neptune placed the tip of her sword on Rom's chest, ready to strike as she lightly slid her sword down the small girl's body. "You're not a goddess anymore, you're a murderer. You took the lives of everyone you knew, except Blanc and Ram. That tells me you hated everyone but them!"

Rom attempted to scream in pain as she felt the blade dig into her skin, but no sound came out. She looked up into Neptune's green eyes with tears streaming down her face. "B…ut… I.. didn't… hate.. them.."

The purple goddess sneered with a hiss at Rom's response as she picked up the girl's head and slammed it on the ground, causing the girl to squeeze her eyes shut. "SHUT UP! If you truly had loved them, you wouldn't have taken theirLIFE!"

"I do… love them.. I.. regret… taking them.. I didn't.. mean to.. I.. wasn't myself." Rom finally said as her eyes had finally returned to their usual pink.

Rom saw the fire inside Neptune's eyes, clearly influenced by her response. Every word that came out from her mouth, only fueled the goddess's false wrath. Neptune brought up her sword, pointing it at the girl's chest.

Neptune narrowed her eyes. "You can take your lies… to your FUCKING GRAVE!"

Rom closed her eyes. This was it. She was going to die here. 'I'm sorry everyone… that I caused so much pain, suffering and destroyed our home. I deserve this..'

A single tear fell down from her eyes. 'I don't… want to… die. Please Blanc… save me.'

Neptune brought down her sword.

"NEPTUNE! STOP!" Blanc shouted.

Neptune stopped her attack and turned to Blanc. "Wait your turn!" she shouted back. Neptune turned her attention back to Rom. She noticed that her blade was just less than an inch from piercing the girl she was sitting on. Neptune looked up, meeting Rom's terrified pink eyes that currently had tears falling from them. Neptune gasped in shock as her eyes turned back to their normal blue color.

"Rom.." Neptune whispered.

Neptune noticed that her hand was choking the girl and the blade she wielded almost killed her.

Realizing what she almost had done, she immediately tossed the sword away and took her hand off of Rom's neck. Rom coughed heavily, wheezing as she tried to regain the oxygen she was deprived of.

Neptune turned to see Blanc behind her. She could see the fear and tears on her face. Her eyes widened when she saw that her friend's eyes were no longer purple. They were back to their reddish-orange color that would only be seen in her HDD. Neptune noticed her friend's injuries. She saw all the cuts, gashes and her broken nose as well as her deformed hand and blood covering most of her body. 'Did I… do this?' Neptune wondered.

The Purple goddess got up, helping the smaller CPU up on her feet as well. Neptune released her Next Form and had reverted to her normal HDD. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she realized what she almost had done to her best friends.

"Blanc… Rom… I… I… I'm so sorry! I don't… don't know what came over me… it's just… with everything that happened, I wanted to try and save you and our home. But in the end… I ALMOST KILLED YOU TWO!" Neptune said as her tears flowed freely down her face.

Blanc slowly walked over as well as Rom, the two CPUs wrapped an arm around their friend in attempts to calm her down.

"Neptune. Listen to me. It's okay, neither one of us were ourselves the whole time. Don't blame yourself for it. I'm actually grateful to you. You almost killing us is what freed us from the brainwashing. I needed that foot up my ass." Blanc said, chuckling at the end.

Rom nodded as she nuzzled into Purple Heart's chest. "Uh huh. I feel the same, I was… a bad girl like you said. Thank you for freeing me."

Purple Heart nodded in response as she squeezed her two friends, being careful to not injure Blanc any further than she had already caused her. "Thank you… you two mean the world to me."

Blanc had released her hug and turned her attention to Rom. Her own eyes had tears falling as well. "Rom… I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I had no idea that the staff I gave you for your birthday was cursed. If I had known…" Blanc couldn't finish her sentence as she felt Rom carefully wrap her arms around her.

Rom was freely crying into her. "No.. I'm.. I'm the one who's sorry. It was me who killed our friends… not you. I should be taking responsibility."

Blanc placed her right hand on her sister's head, patting it gently. "You're so mature Rom. I really am proud of you for that."

After a few more minutes of crying and hugging, the CPU trio had finally calmed down.

"So, what do we do now?" Purple Heart asked.

Blanc shook her head. "I don't know… but… I'm feeling… tir…. ed."

Blanc's transformation had finally given out as the brunette fell to the floor. Rom panicked as she lifted her sister, trying to shake her awake. "Blanc…. BLANC!? Come on, wake up!"

Purple Heart kneeled down, placing two fingers on the girl's neck, checking for a pulse. She sighed in relief as she felt one. "Relax Rom, Blanc is okay. She just collapsed from exhaustion."

Purple Heart asked Rom to step-aside as she carefully scooped up the white CPU in her arms. She carefully placed her on the couch in the living room that somehow was unscathed.

Rom looked at her sister worryingly. "Will she… be okay?"

Purple Heart also looked at the sleeping girl. "She'll be alright. She was in her HDD for so long that it had drained most of her share energy. Come to think of it…I feel…weak myself." She said as she returned to her human form. Neptune collapsed on her knees, breathing heavily.

Rom followed as she reverted to her human form. She went over to check on Neptune.

"Miss Neptune.. Are you okay?" she asked

Neptune nodded. "Yeah.. I just.. need to rest. After all, I was in my Next Form for a while too."

"That's true. You should rest."

Neptune nodded and laid down on the other couch in the room. "Hey Rom.. I'm glad that you're okay and um.. I'm sorry for almost killing you."

Rom shook her head. "No, it's okay. It's been a rough day for all of us."

Neptune pointed towards the brunette that was currently sleeping on the other couch. "See if you can use your healing magic to treat your sis's injuries. I'd think she would feel better if you did, that way, she can rest easier."

Rom nodded. "Yeah, good idea Miss Neptune."

The small girl walked over to where her sister laid. She examined the woman's injuries.

'Oh Blanc..' she thought. Deciding what spell she was going to use, she kneeled down and placed her hands on the CPU. All of the wounds that were open had closed up, her nose retook their shape, her left hand put back together and the severe injury sustained in her left shoulder was also gone. The blood however, remained on the brunette's body. When the small CPU was finished casting her spell, she was panting heavily.

"These... spells are so… complicated. At least though… Blanc is back to normal."

Neptune noticed the panting girl and motioned her to lie down on her lap on the couch. Rom obeyed as she went about laying down next to her on the couch. 'It's a little cramped but this is fine.' Neptune thought as she slowly stroked the small girl's hair. She looked at her with worry. 'Poor girl. She must be terrified of everything that's happened. There has to be a way to fix this.'

Within a few minutes, Rom was sound asleep. Neptune looked to the other side of the room where the staff had been tossed away by her. Thoughts loomed into her mind as she thought about ways to reverse the damage that had been done by the small girl. After a few moments of pondering, a light bulb clicked on.

'Histy mentioned something about a book regarding a line of cursed weapons from the first generation of CPUs awhile back. Maybe there's something in it that can help us, but where was it again?'

"Darn it… if only I had listened to Histy more, maybe I would know where that book is." Neptune muttered to herself.

Neptune was determined to find the book that could be somewhere in her Basilicom. For now though, she needed a nap. She closed her eyes as one final thought crossed her mind. 'Nep Jr, Noire, Vert, everyone… I will save you'.

Wow! This was quite a battle wasn't it? Bet none of you expected our favorite protagonist to do the things she did. But, I had figured that the only way for Blanc and Rom to finally be freed from their brainwashing, was for their lives to be almost taken.
