〔Gagamaru Polite Manner〕
"So these men are the Four Cardinal Heroes of ancient legend?"
At a large throne room of some kind of kingdom castle, sat a old looking king, who looked at the four 'Cardinal Heroes', to which he also asked about their legitimacy, which was confirmed by one of his servant by his side, after being assured, he decided to introduce himself and continue on with the conversation
"I see, I am the King of Melromarc, Aultcray Melromarc XXXlll, Heroes, name yourself."
Once the King, now known as Aultcray Melromarc, introduce himself, he immediately asked the four before them to give their name to him, to which they reply
"Amaki Ren, sixteen years old, high school student."
The first of the four to introduce themselves was the one in blue, wielding a 'Sword' and had a serious expression, who goes by the name Amaki Ren
"I'm Kitamura Motoyasu, twenty one, and a college student."
The 2nd of the four to introduce themselves was the one in red, wielding a 'Spear', and had a carefree confident expression, he goes by the name Kitamura Motoyasu
"Kawasumi Itsuki, seventeen years old, also a high schooler."
The 3rd of the four to introduce themselves was the one in green, wielding a 'Bow' and had a kind polite expression, he goes by the name Kawasumi Itsuki
"❲Gagamaru Chougasaki, whatever, hm…❳"
The last one of the four was Gagamaru Chougasaki, though when he introduced himself, it was quickly ignored and probably wasn't heard by the King, to which was find with him, as he was also not paying attention to anything that was happening around him, as he was in the middle of messing with the 'Shield' that was stuck on his arm and won't come off, no matter how much he struggles or even managed to actually remove it, he would just not leave his body
'❲So it's permanently stuck on my arm, huh❳'
Even with that fact, Gagamaru wasn't to bothered by it, since it wasn't trying to hurt or bother him in any way, though what did annoy Chougasaki was the fact that he was given a 'Shield' of all things instead of something cool
'❲Why a Shield? I already have my Minus for defense, so what's the point of even having this?❳'
Before Gagamaru could complain about the cliche or irony of the weapon he was given, his thoughts were interrupted when he heard something that definitely caught his attention
"-Then Heroes, you should all check your statuses."
As soon as Aultcray said this, the Polite Minus couldn't help but look at the corner of his eyes and saw a icon, and after focusing on said icon, some kind of menu screen popped out before him and show off all the information that was presented before him
"❲YES! I'M IN A RPG STYLE ISEKAI! THIS MAKES THIS SO MUCH MORE FUN FOR ME!~❳"
Gagamaru was so excited to be in a Isekai with a video game type system, no doubt being some type of 'Gamer' himself, he couldn't help but get so excited that his neatly combed hair started to spike up and almost turned wild, which made everyone in the throne room look at him weirdly, and made a certain King glare at him slightly
"... The sun is about to set, rest up tonight and set forth tomorrow."
With all that said and done, Aultcray decided to call it a day and discuss the rest tomorrow, allowing his servants to show the Cardinal Heroes to their rooms for the night, once the four were left in a place to rest and sleep for the night, the Invincible Gentleman just sat down on a random chair and continue to mess with his Menus Screen, seeing what he could learn and experiment on what he could do
"Wow, you really seemed to be into this whole 'Cardinal Heroes' thing, huh?"
Itsuki, as well the other two Cardinal Heroes, couldn't help but noticed the excitement and eagerness that Chougasaki express
"No kidding, especially with such a reaction you gave in the throne room."
Ren couldn't help but be disappointed with the way the Polite Minus acted, it was so rude and inappropriate, not to mention it gave a bad impression for the King
"Can't really blame him, I'm definitely still excited to be a Hero in a fantasy type world, heh, I wonder how many girls I'll get once I save them from the Waves~"
Motoyasu decided to defend the reaction of the Invincible Gentleman, was also showing off his own joy at the thought of becoming the 'New World Hero', especially when it comes to the many 'Benefits' that came with it, though what he said suddenly made Chougasaki pause on what he was doing and started to think about something
'❲Senpai definitely would've thought the same thing, hm, I wonder if I should think like that as well?❳'
Though after thinking such thought, Gagamaru quickly went back to messing with his Menu Screen and Shield, all the while ignoring and being ignored by the other Cardinal Heroes, who were suddenly talking about parallel universe and all that, to which he had no interest in thinking about and prefer worrying about himself and what he will do now
"We have gathered brave warriors who will fight the Waves with you Legendary Heroes."
Next day, back inside the throne room, Aultcray started to continue to speak with the Four Cardinal Heroes on where they left off yesterday, while also introducing a few group of people, who seemed to be fighters of some kind
'❲It's really unfortunate that I can't have my original friends be in my Adventuring Group, oh well, I guess I'll make do with these Normals❳'
Gagamaru didn't really like the thought of being in a group with people he doesn't know, while also feeling a bit lonely and slightly sad to not be able to share this experience with his friends back at home, but he didn't let that stop him from having fun on what he will do in this new Isekai with a RPG theme world he is in
"Now, our future champions, Time To Begin Your Journey!"
After Aultcray officially starts this whole adventure thing, all the group of Warriors started to split up and walk towards each Cardinal Heroes that stood before them, and choosing who they were going to join and fight with, though surprisingly enough, even though the Spear, Sword and Bow got at least a few partners and fighters, the Shield Hero, unfortunately got no one, much to the shock of the three Heroes and mild 'Surprise' from the King
"Huh, I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this."
Aultcray couldn't help but express his 'Surprise' feeling when no one wanted to join the Polite Minus
"Really? Does no one really want to join his team?"
Itsuki felt a bit guilty for seeing his fellow Cardinal Hero not even get a single person in his group
"I told you that his sudden outburst would give a bad impression, they must think he's some kind of fool now."
Ren shakes his head, he also felt bad for the Shield User, but he did try to warn him
"Sorry dude, not only are you stuck with the loser weapon, but now you have to go on an adventure all by yourself."
Motoyasu pats Chougasaki shoulder and gave him a sympathetic expression
"❲That's fine, I'm use to being ignored and left to defend myself❳"
Even though what Gagamaru said made a few people actually feel even more guilty for him being by himself, he was actually kind of glad that he would being doing this whole thing on his own, it gives a lot more 'Freedom' to do whatever he wants
'❲I definitely have some ideas for Leveling Up~...❳'
Gagamaru wore a small evil grin, though before any more dark thoughts could fill his mind, a certain someone raised their hands, which caught the attention of everyone in the room
"Sir Shield Hero."
The one who raised their hands and called out for the Polite Minus, was a lovely young lady, with beautiful red hair, pretty green eyes, and a nice smile that definitely caught the heart of almost everyone in the room
"Would you allow me to join you on your Adventures?"
She politely asked to be a part of the Invincible Gentleman group, which surprised Kitamura, since she chose his group first, made Amaki and Kawasumi a bit relieved, since they don't have to worry about his fellow Hero, and shock Melromarc, though quickly tries to hide it, though Chougasaki already noticed, but it ignores it as he carefully watches the Red Head walk up to him
"Are you sure?"
Motoyasu couldn't help but pout for losing a beautiful girl from his group
"Yes~"
She nods cheerfully, the Polite Minus said nothing the entire time as he continues to narrow his eyes at her and let out a small hum
"Are there any others who wouldn't mind joining, er, um, the Shield Hero?"
Aultcray asked this question to everyone in the throne room, though none reply or volunteer to do so, which made the King sigh in defeat
"I suppose we'll have to take other measures, Shield Hero, you will have to recruit for your party yourself."
Aultcray spoke to the Invincible Gentleman on what he needs to do, to which said person sigh and nods, a bit disappointed for not being able to go solo, but he didn't complain
"Every month, we shall provide each Hero with the funds they require, this time however, the Shield Hero payment will be higher than the others-"
Once Aultcray said how Chougasaki would get paid more, something about around 800 Silvers Coins or whatever, and was given said coins, he actually started to ignore everyone again and started to think about other things, more specifically on what he should do now
'❲I supposed I shall take my Senpai advice and just wing it, let's see where that will lead me❳'
Gagamaru then takes a glance at the Red Head, who gave a cute, and slightly suggestive 'Smile', towards him, while hugging his arms and pressing her chest against it
"My name is Myne Suphia, it's an honor to fight with you~"
The one now known as Myne continue to act close and smile at him, which made the Polite Minus raise an eyebrow
'❲She needs to take some lessons from Senpai when it comes to smiling❳'
Meanwhile, at a random weapon shop, which had all kinds of weapons, armour and the likes, there was a older man, maybe middle age, more or less, who stood behind the counter of shop and was in middle of checking out some equipment, also he was the owner and blacksmith of this place
"I wholeheartedly recommend this place!~"
The shop owner looks up from his work and noticed Myne and the Invincible Gentleman walking in, this made him stop his side project completely and started to greet his customer
"You both clearly have good taste, my name is Erhard, the blacksmith of this shop."
As soon as the man, now known as Erhard, introduced himself, he was suddenly given a large bag of 800 Silver Coins, much to his surprise
"❲Give my Companion the best and most expensive quality armor and weapon, and used whatever left over to get me on what you see fit❳"
Both Suphia and the Shop Owner were surprised by Gagamaru straight forwardness and bluntness on what he wanted
"Heh, straight to business huh? I respect that, please give me a moment, I'll be sure to find something just right for you both."
Erhard smiles as he takes the bag and begins to walks away, so that he could get something just right for them, once he was gone, the Red Head wasted no time hugging and nuzzling against the Shield Hero again
"You're so kind and generous, just like a true Shield Hero~"
Myne clearly 'appreciated' on how thoughtful her Partner was in spending everything for her, and barely cared about himself
'❲Just make her shorter and giver her purple yes, and I could easily mistake her for Mukae, huh, I wonder how she's doing?❳'
Gagamaru couldn't help but be reminded of someone when his Partner continues to express her clingy behavior towards him
"I found something that hopefully meets your standard, I also decided to throw in a Heroes discount just for you, which leaves you around 300 Silver Coins left."
Erhard soon came back with two suits of armour for the two, to which they kindly takes and puts on
"Wow, don't I look nice Sir Shield Hero?~"
Myne shows off her new clothing and equipment, wearing silver form fitting armour with a few red gems design, plus a white cape for style, the Blacksmith was very proud of picking something that looks good on her
"Definitely one of my better works."
Though before Erhard or Suphia could get a second opinion, a very bright blue sparking lightning caught their attention, and looks at Chougasaki with a startled expression
"❲Oh! A Lightning Sword!~❳"
Gagamaru, who was wearing very basic and plain knight armour, couldn't help but look at the sword that was surrounded by blue lightning, which made the two worry
"U-Um, that isn't a Magic Swor-"
As Erhard was about to explain and warn the Polite Minus, the weapon suddenly flew out of his hand and stabbed deeply into his chest, which instantly made the Shop Owner panic as he wasted no time trying to help him, all the while the Red Head started to 'Worry' about her Partner
"Shield Hero! Are You Ok?!"
Erhard was extremely concerned about the health of his Customer, and was about to call in a Healer or hopefully find a few Potions in his shop, but was stopped when the Invincible Gentleman quickly and easily sat up with no issue, which startled the two
"❲I hope you can forgive me for ruining your armour already, it was a unexpected accident after all❳"
Gagamaru seemed to be completely fine, not only was he obviously still alive, but he also took the sword out of chest with no issue, not even the blade was covered in blood, the Shop Owner was completely speechless, and Suphia looked, 'Disappointed?', for some reason
"Er, it's ok, I'll replace it for you, free of charge."
After that whole ordeal, the Shield Hero and the RedHead gave their goodbyes once they got what they need and started to leave the shop, all the while Erhard just waves but still looked slightly confused about the whole thing
'Definitely the most bizarre customer I had, but if they're still willing to do business with me, I won't complain.'
With nothing much to say, and trying to ignore the unusual incident, Erhard decided to just hope for a good business relationship and just continue to work, though once he grabbed the broken armour and walk to the back to fix it, he couldn't help but stopped and noticed a fresh new hole that was on his wall, as if it's been recently stabbed through, which confused him
"Huh?..."
Meanwhile, at some open field of long grass, something could be seen moving inside the field, and after a moment of seeing it move arounding, the creature finally revealed itself but jumping out the grass and biting onto Chougasaki armoured arm, they looked like a living orange Balloon Monster, with its only way of attacking is biting down hard
"❲I guess the Shield give me some form of protection, it's not even piercing or leaving any marks on my Armour❳"
Gagamaru couldn't help but analyze the situation as he grabs the Balloon Monster and just effortlessly rip it apart, killing it instantly
"❲That or it's so weak that even a worthless someone like me could kill it, sounds more reasonable to be honest❳"
After Gagamaru killed the Balloon Monster, he suddenly received a notification that showed him gaining experience points, which made him smile greatly, no doubt loving the idea of actually treating all of this like a fun game
"Wow!~ You're Amazing Shield Hero!~"
The Polite Minus quickly snapped out of his enjoyment of what he was doing and look back to see Suphia giving him more praise, while also staying away in a safe distance, to which he narrowed his eyes
'❲Yeah! Stay Over There! These Are My Experience Points!❳'
Gagamaru quickly holds and hugs one of the Balloon Monster in a protective and selfish non sharing manner, which was in the middle of biting him, which did slightly confused the RedHead on why he was hugging it, soon, a lot of time has pass, enough so that the sun was setting and the moon was slowly starting to rise, though despite the night that was slowly coming, the Invincible Gentleman, who didn't seem tired at all, was still continuing to kill every Balloon Monster and did not seem to be stopping anytime soon
"S-Shield Hero, I-I must implore you, l-let us g-go back, we need t-to eat and rest…"
Myne, who seemed to be very tired, sweaty and hungry, was begging for them to rest and eat, clearly not having enough strength to continue being out here, despite doing absolutely nothing, the Shield Hero hums and tap his chin
"❲Hm, I guess it would be a bad if I continue to push my burdens onto you❳"
In the end, Gagamaru just nods and accepted her advice and went back inside to the city, once they found a INN, the Red Head wasted no time going to the lunchroom and order a whole lot of food and drinks, no doubt starving for 'Unknown' reason, once Chougasaki paid for the food and for a room, he was about to just leave Suphia on his own and retire to his private quarter for the night
"S-Sir Shield Hero, you're gonna go to bed early? W-Why not join me for dinner tonight, and maybe share some drinks?"
Even though Myne was still hungry and exhausted, she still had enough strength to want to continue hanging out with Polite Minus, and even offer some alcohol to him, offering a lot of it actually
"❲Sadly no, I have a lot more things that I wish to learn about the Shield, so please don't worry about me and enjoy your relaxation❳"
With a goodnight bow, Gagamaru continue to walk away and towards his room, all the while Suphia could do nothing but watch him leave
"Tsk…"
In a random bed room, with a suit of armor by the door and a bag of coins on the desk, the Invincible Gentleman sat down on the bed he rented and was in the middle of putting stuff in the green gem of his weapon, which seemed to absorb the material and unlock many perks from it, which definitely caught his interest
"❲So it can copy and used certain abilities of whatever material it's given, fascinating~❳"
After learned about this new piece of into, Gagamaru couldn't help but suddenly be curious about something, he reaches a free hand towards his head and pulls out a few strands of his hair, after doing so, he drops them into the gem and let it get absorbed, unfortunately, instead of locking something new, it instead showed a 'Error' message on how it couldn't register what it was given, which didn't surprise him, in fact it even made him chuckle at this failed experiment
"❲Of course, my 'Encounter' is something that can't be easily copied~❳"
Once knowing this fact, Gagamaru continue to experiment with other things with the Shield, like adding material, understanding the new perks he was given, and just generally wanting to learn more about his weapon and the many secrets it had, he was clearly determined enough to understand his Shield that he did this throughout the whole night and even some of the morning, the only time he even stopped was when he went out his room and go to the cafeteria to get a light meal and drink, unfortunately, after having a small breakfast, when he got back to the room, he noticed that he has been robbed and his room was left a mess
"❲Ah, forgot to lock the door, how silly of me, oh well, it was an unexpected accident after all❳"
Though before Gagamaru could investigate further, or probably just ignore this situation and go fine his Partner, so that they could continue their adventuring, he was suddenly stopped and surrounded by Knights and Guards, who all had their weapons pointed at him
"Shield Hero! You Have Been Summoned By The King!"
One of the Guards said, who spoke with such a rage filled and disgusted tone, all the Shield Hero could do was raise an eyebrow in confusion, soon, after some roughly grabbing and dragging, Chougasaki was suddenly brought and thrown on the floor of the throne room, luckily he seemed unharmed and particularly didn't care of the way he was being treated, but he couldn't help but still look confused and curious, lifting up his head and seeing not only the King of Melromarc, but also the other three Cardinal Heroes and a very 'Frighten' Myne
"❲Is this your way of saying good morning? I must say it's very unorthodox, but I can't deny it wasn't interesting❳"
Gagamaru slowly stood back up to his feet and started to dust himself off, though his calm attitude extremely annoyed the King and Heroes, clenching fist and gritted teeth
"QUIET SCUMBAG!"
The Polite Minus was suddenly surprised by the sudden rage filled shout he got from Aultcray, not expecting such a reaction from him
"❲Oh?❳"
Gagamaru tilted his head innocently, the King lets out a small disappointed sigh and rubs his temple in exhaustion
"Myne, you poor Adventurer, could you please testify once more for us?"
After Aultcray mention the name of Suphia, the Invincible Gentleman couldn't help but look at said person and get very curious on what she had to say
"T-The Shield Hero barged into my room, drunk, a-and, and pinned me down…"
As Myne continue to speak with such a fearful and tearful tone and expression, which already made the Shield Hero even more confused than before
"H-He said, "The night is still young," and tore my clothes off!"
The lack of understanding continue to weigh down on Chougasaki as Myne suddenly spoke with more emotions and drama in her voice
"I-I somehow escaped and ran to Sir Motoyasu, who happened to be staying in the same INN, for help!"
Once Myne finished speaking, Kitamura decided to hold her close and take over for a bit
"If she hadn't asked me to wait till dawn and call the Knights, I Would've Cut You Down Myself!"
Motoyasu was very obviously enrage from being told that the Red Head was forced to do such 'Unpleasant' things, which did nothing to help the Polite Minus understand what was going on
"To think the Shield Hero would commit the gravest sin in this country, In Melromarc, Even Attempting To Sexually Assault A Woman Is Punishable By Death!"
Aultcray stood up from his throne and points and glares at the Invincible Gentleman with such hate and anger
"IF YOU WEREN'T A HERO, YOU WOULD BE EXECUTED IMMEDIATELY!"
Aultcray wasn't mincing words and was expressing his true feelings towards the Shield Hero, which was the only thing that made sense to him
"To think I actually thought you were a decent person and a reliable ally, how foolish of me to think that…"
Itsuki shakes his head with such disappointment towards the so called 'Criminal'
"Not surprising, he seemed to think of this whole thing as a game, and thought he would've been fine with such unspeakable action, how naive and stupid…"
Ren also shared dissatisfaction towards Chougasaki, a feeling that everyone in the throne room also felt
'❲I don't get it, why am I being accused for such things?❳'
Gagamaru was so lost and still didn't understand a single thing that was going on, for all he remembered, he just sat alone in his room, alone and only left when he felt peckish, but besides that, he does not recall forcing himself on another woman, though before he could push away the stress and increasing confusion from his mind, he suddenly took a glance towards the person who made the accusations, and what he saw from Suphia was her sticking a tongue at him
'❲Ah, I see I see…❳'
That was enough for everything to suddenly make for Gagamaru, and once he finally understood what was going on, he knew exactly on how to handle this situation
"... THAT'S RIGHT, I WAS THE ONE THAT RAPED MYNE, AND I WOULD GLADLY DO IT AGAIN WITHOUT HESITATION!~"
Gagamaru quickly pushed his hair back and showed off his most disgusted evil face he could make, which honestly shock the Red Head, not actually expecting him to join and accept these lies she made of him
"YOU BASTARD!"
Motoyasu couldn't hold in his anger and was about to use his Spear against the so called 'Rapist', who welcome the challenge and gave him a mocking smile, unfortunately before Kitamura could do anything, the King suddenly spoke up
"You're So Blessed To Have The Shield, But Even If We Can't Lock You Away For Ever, You Will No Longer Be Seen As A Hero, No Matter Where You Go, You Will Be Nothing More Than A Criminal To Everyone Eyes!"
Even with the increasing rage and hate that was in Aultcray, he still had enough composure to not let it get the better of him nor cloud his judgement, though this only made the now Evil Minus laugh loudly
"DO WHATEVER YOU LIKE WITH ME, RUIN MY IMAGE, DEMONIZE MY REPUTATION, EVEN CREATE HORROR STORIES ABOUT ME AND HOW I'M SO DISGUSTING AND NASTY!~"
Gagamaru then points at everyone and wore a very smug smile
"Cause at the end of the day, I'm still your problem that you willfully summon as your Hero~..."
After Gagamaru finish speaking, the Heroes, King and the entire poeple in the throne room couldn't help but really hate the Shield Hero
"GET HIM OUT OF MY THRONE ROOM!"
That was all Aultcray had to say without lashing out, to which the Knights did as they were told, grabbing and dragging Chougasaki away again, though when being taken away, he couldn't help suddenly look back at Suphia, who was very confused on what just happened
"❲I hope that help on what you were trying to do~❳"
All the nastiness from Gagamaru suddenly left his face, as it was replaced with a Gentleman like smile, which made the Red Head go wide eyes as she watch him get taken away with lost for words
"Are you ok Myne?"
The sudden voice of concern from Motoyasu snapped the confusion away from Suphia face, as she suddenly held onto the Spear Hero
"I-I'm fine, just a lot in my mind…"
Was all Myne could say, to which Kitamura just held her close in hopes to comfort her
'Why do I get the feeling that I made a horrible mistake?...'
Late Afternoon, the Shield Hero could be seen in the middle of eating lunch at a random bar, which was filled with a lot of people who couldn't help but glare and talk about him, which was mostly about how he 'Raped A Adventurer' and how 'Evil He Truly Was', they all hated him so much that a few them was considering to kill him for the many crime he committed, they got out their blades and weapons and slowly started to sneak up to him
"❲Hm, the meal is extra delicious today~❳"
Gagamaru was in a very good mood, as he happily eats his lunch and drinks some tea, which all seemed to taste much more better than it should, no doubt what he did today made him feel proud and happy, which was a very odd way of looking at things
"「Oh! Can I try some?~」"
Out of nowhere, Kumagawa Misogi came out of nowhere and quickly take the seat next to Chougasaki, who smiles and welcome him, not at all questioning on how he got here
"❲Oh course Senpai~ Hey Waiter, Give My Senpai The Best Meal You Have To Offer!❳"
Gagamaru suddenly glared at the Bar Owner, who couldn't help but snap out and look away from the many dead 'Screwed Up' corpses of the people that hated and wanted to hurt the Polite Minus
"R-Right Away Sir Shield Hero!"
The Bar Owner wasted no time running towards the kitchen and quickly started cooking for Kumagawa, who just patiently waited and just simply started speaking with the Gagamaru
"「So Gagamaru, how long did it take you to notice that the Red Head was no good?~」"
"❲When she started showing her fake smile to me❳"
From what I remember from Medaka Box, we never got to see what Gagamaru do in his free time and away from all the chaos he does, of course I probably missed something, but at the moment, I'll try to come up with some appropriate personality and character traits for him, like his love for gaming, unless it's Yu Gi Oh, he hates it and being compared to such a franchise, though if you have some extra information about him that I don't know, I'm willing to listen~
(BTW, as a Minus, they are used to being mistreated and be given unfair treatment, though that doesn't mean that they don't hold onto grudges or desire revenge~)
