Yo Peeps, GateMasterGreen here with a random oneshot for a fandom that most of my followers are looking at like, huh... what the f***

Anywho, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came out and it's amazing and a random throwaway line has brought me here today to ship yet another yuri pairing. If you haven't played the game, hard recommend. If you are reading this to see about any updates to the RWBY stuff, I will say that it's unlikely I'll update anytime soon for it. You can still check out the Discord if you want to chat.

Onwards!

Disclaimer: I do not own XC3.

Sometimes, Taion thought, Eunie was more trouble than she was worth.

That wasn't to say he thought her a detriment to the team, more that she strained his patience in truly vexing ways. She was crude, brash, and certainly that mouth had caused no shortage of headaches for the team. For example, verbally ripping the commander… rather, former commander of Colony 11, to pieces for what Eunie perceived as her being stupidly suicidal.

Not that Taion disagreed, but they should at least attempt to get along with someone they had just fought beside, even if the entire situation was probably Ashera's fault in the first place. While the others were talking to Eunie about her behavior and she wandered off to speak with Ashera and apologize, Taion simply removed his glasses, rubbing at the bridge of his nose, knowing a headache was forming.

Of all possible outcomes he had thought of, Taion was both surprised and not that Ashera would be joining them for some time. Not surprising given they were basically on a warpath, moral high ground notwithstanding, and the countless enemies they would expect would be irresistible to the wild woman.

No, the surprise came in the form of Eunie being all for the woman tagging along. Hadn't they just been at each other's throats during this whole business with the Consuls and the farce of a duel. It just wouldn't click for him how they seemed to be completely fine now.

So little made sense to him nowadays.

They had come so far though, he had to admit. With M's sacrifice, Mio was no longer tied to the end of term she, and all of them, had feared. Spark's sake, learning that N and M were Noah and Mio alone had been enough to baffle him, but they managed to come out on top for now.

So much to learn, he mused. Now they had to make their way to rescue the Queen of Agnus and get more information on how they would be able to take the fight to Z. Well, the journey wouldn't be much of an issue if not for the small fact that not even ten minutes after leaving Colony 11, Eunie and Ashera were bickering.

Well, Eunie was bickering. Ashera, as usual, was just blowing off her angry comments with a laugh. Taion noted with some intrigue how Eunie clammed up when the older Kevesi settled an arm over her shoulder, grinning like a loon.

Taion blinked. Eunie's cheeks were red. How strange; Maybe he'd make her some herbal tea when they made camp for the night. He didn't want his friend getting sick after all.

While it had gone over most of the team's heads, it had taken Monica mere moments to suss out what was going on the next she saw the kids. They had returned to the City to stock up on supplies and work with Samon to locate the needed shards to get the Bravery working. That they were accompanied by a rough and tumble woman who was seemingly fixated on the sole Entian in the group, well, that wasn't really her business she supposed.

"Budge off, mudder!"

Monica's eyes snapped back to Eunie, who was now pushing Ashera off of her violently. Rolling her eyes, the Elder stifled a soft laugh and turned back to continue walking. "Come on, you lot, Travis has some things to go over."

How the other kids had yet to notice anything odd about the two, Monica would never know, but she certainly wouldn't be the one to put it out in the open.

Once the group was debriefed on more of the current situation, she figured she'd get a chance to relax as they filed out of the room. However, when Taion decided to linger, she cursed under her breath. As much as she was willing to help them, it didn't make it less annoying that any delay would bring more ire from her daughter when it came to dinner.

Pushing the thought aside, she cocked an eyebrow at the tactician. "Is there something I can help you with, Taion?"

Crossing his arms and pushing up his glasses, he nodded. "Yes, actually, Something's bothering me as of late with Eunie." He frowned slightly. "She has seemed feverish more often as of late but checking it against what information I have, it doesn't seem like any sickness that Agnus has a record of. Even my scarce pool of Kevesi medical science has offered any answer."

So one of them had noticed then, Monica conceded. They were just too innocent to have figured out what it meant. Deciding to play with him a bit, she frowned. "Sounds serious. Do you know when about it started? She seemed fine earlier, too. Does it fluctuate often?"

Taion hummed to himself, letting a hand fiddle with his Mondo as he considered it. "By my best estimates, it was around the time we left Colony 11. I'm unsure if anything there could have been the cause, since it would have likely affected the other members of our team or Ashera might have pointed it out." He paused. "It does seem to fluctuate, but I've not been able to pinpoint a solid reason to what causes her symptoms to flare up."

"Symptoms?" Monica prodded, mentally snorting.

"I've talked about it with Mio and Noah and they agree that she has been rather flush as of late, but any time we bring it up to Eunie," a sigh escaped the Agnian. "She gets rather defensive, so we decided to let it be for now. Especially since it hasn't been any detriment to combat."

Monica hummed thoughtfully. "Best I figure, it's probably just a small bug. Should pass with time, if I had to guess." Laying a hand on his shoulder, she smiled softly at him. "If it causes any issues, let me know and I'll see if we can fix it then."

And that was that, for now at least.

Eunie had to roll her eyes at the absurdity of it all. Bloody snuffin' Ashera was running around the City's small park laughing raucously with the myriad kids who seemed to call the place theirs. Watching the Lone Exile join in the silly games… Eunie had to admit it certainly was a sight to behold.

Sparks alive, the whole rundown of life in the City had been a major shock to the woman and here she was parading around with children smaller than even some of the smaller first termers.

It wasn't the only thing the Entian had been watching, though. Her eyes wandered to some of the pairs of adults, the term still sounding off to her, watching the spectacle. Men and women with their arms looped or heads leaning on shoulders. Snuff it all, she saw one pair openly kiss each other and laugh brightly soon after.

It was distracting and her thoughts kept wandering, along with her eyes, right back to a certain woman. Eunie snorted at her own stray thoughts. Monica and the Doc had explained this in detail and it was always involved a man and a woman. Why then was she fixating these things on another woman?

Queen's beans, Ashera was bloody suicidal at the best of times and here was Eunie wondering what it'd be like to be held in those gorgeous arms of hers. She could feel her feathers getting in a ruffle over these thoughts, for snuffs sake.

So lost in thought she was, that she didn't hear the approaching footsteps until an arm was once more thrown around her shoulder. Jolting in shock she looked to see who was invading her space so she could slug them, only to come face to face with Ashera's beaming mug.

Spark, why did she have to be so pretty?

"Think me pretty, do you?"

Wait what? Had she said that out loud.

Ashera was grinning at her, amusement dancing in those crimson orbs. Shit, he totally had.

Affecting a cool air, she crossed her arms and looked away. "I don't see what's so snuffin' wrong with me saying so. Got a problem with it, mudder?"

"Aww, don't be like that," Ashera crooned. "It's nice to hear people speak their minds around me. That it was a compliment is even better. Back at the Colony, all I got to hear was bitching about them not being able to best me." The older Kevesi leaned down, lips beside Eunie's ear. "Besides, I think you're pretty gorgeous yourself."

Eunie's face lit up a bright red and she shoved Ashera away violently. "You can't snuffin' just say that to someone!" Her breath caught in her throat as the other woman snagged one of her hands that she was trying to make space with. She felt herself being tugged forward as Ashera lifted it to her mouth, placing a teasing kiss on her knuckles, a devious grin on show. "Oh spark this shite."

Before Ashera could attempt to decipher that, she felt a pull on her collar and soon a soft pair of lips had claimed hers, though the embrace itself was anything but soft. Before she could parse another though, she found herself returning the kiss. It did wonders to distract her from the pain in her neck and it certainly didn't hurt that the shorter girl wasn't half bad to look at.

Especially when she was pissed and threatening to strangle her. It was hard to put words to what that stirred in her, but it was positive. Right?

Any further thoughts were put on hold as the sound of a throat being cleared had both jolting back in surprise and turning to see who had caught them. Eyes drifted down settling on a mop of brown hair and teasing hazel eyes. "Finally sorted out your mess, you dags? Can't say I'm too surprised it took this long."

Ashera laughed unashamedly while Eunie turned bright red again, cursing under her breath. Life wasn't half bad with these people, the Exile thought. Not half bad indeed.

End...

Feedback is always appreciated and I'm sorry if me coming back is limited to just this. Been working more on my art as of late rather than writing. Check me out on twitter if you'd like to see some of that stuff. The name there is the same as the one here XD

Fare thee well for now, my friends!
