The mission was going fine… to say the least, all the explosives had been planted. All those alien bastards had been killed, however there was a minor inconvenience. Like all missions it had gone smooth as butter, but this time… too little numbers for this kind of mining operations that the covenant held.
That was the moment Roland-B210 knew this was a trap. "Activate your VISR" shouted Roland to Jonah-B283.
Just for a slit second Roland saw what it looked like a faulty reading from his visor, "MOVE" screamed Jonah. And without hesitation Roland performed an evasive maneuver that put him next to Jonah. And there he was a scumbag-elite; however, this was not any elite he was a "Silent Shadow" Jonah whispered.
"How ya' doing son of a bitch" shouted to the elite while pointing his silenced M6 and overcharging his plasma pistol.
"Let's go" muttered Roland to Jonah. He analyzed the idea of running when… "Shit", suddenly five more elites appeared in Jonah and Roland VISR.
"Explosives are clear" Roland asseverated.
"Then we have nothing to lose".
"On the count of three we run, and this place is going to be ashes."
"One".
After that all the six elites activated their energy swords of a beautiful scarlet color, they all knew what their next move was.
"Two".
Jonah pointed his overcharged plasma pistol towards their leader.
"Three, NOW."
Jonah released the plasma bolt. "That will give us some time". They ran, they knew that survive was the only way to continue their campaign against those filthy aliens who destroyed their planets, their homes, their families…
"Clear".
One by one the reactors started to explode a giant shock wave hit all of them, however they could resist all thanks to the modifications that ONI had made to their SPI equipment, specially to the energy shields that while they where not as strong as the ones found in MJOLNIR armor, they were useful.
They sprinted as fast as they could roughly reaching 32 KPM faster than most of the other III's. Roland looked back he saw part of the explosion eating the elites, while being stronger they were not as fast as them, they could only run at 18 KPM. *
"See you in hell, bastards" Jonah said with a happy tone while running towards the jungle where they stayed for the following hours.

"Roland to team two, do you copy?" Nothing, just white noise. But suddenly a transmission from team two leader's helmet "OF COURSE I COPY" But this wasn't his voice, "REMEMBER THIS NAME DEMONS, I JEGA 'RDOMNAI WILL KILL BOTH OF YOU!". Then nothing.
"Looks that one survived," said Jonah.
"Maybe even two, lets contact the prowler"
"Here Spartan B-210 to UNSC Into the Darkness**, we need immediate evacuation".
"Here UNSC Into the Darkness, we copy sending an evac team in T-2 minutes".

A dark room, very dark. However, this was no problem for Roland, with his augmentations he was able to see in almost complete darkness, even without the help of the VISR in his helmet he could perfectly see the faces of the member of the board room.
"Tell us B-210, how was the operation?".
"It was a trap, sir".
"A trap?".
"Affirmative, team two was able to put the charges in the reactors of the other excavation site, however…"
"However, what? Son.".
"They were KIA by this team of elites, Silent Shadow".
"Information says they are extremely lethal, how did you managed to escape?".
"I noticed that something was off… wrong… and we activated our VISR, I was almost killed".
"Almost, but here you are. So, tell us son, are these Silent Shadow death?".
"Indeed, looks like one did survive, he is called Jega 'Rdomnai".
"How do you know? Report says that you ran while the explosions took place"
"He somehow… used team two leader's comms to give us a death threat".
"This will be all for today Spartan, you can now leave. And take some rest, now that the war is over you and B-283 gained it".
*I investigated for a while and turns out that Sangheili there isn't an official confirmation in lore about their speed, I guessed that 18 KPM or 11 MPH was a good speed for them, while being faster than an average human but not as fast as an Spartan, also add to the fact that they were wearing armor and for what I know they didn't had any other use but to protected its user unlike the SPI armor that augmented their strength by a little but not as much as a MJOLNIR.
**This is a Sahara-class heavy prowler, the same type as seen in the Halo: Legends episode "The Package".
This is my first story it is an AU with both Roland and Jonah surviving their mission and with the recent introduction of Jega to Halo Infinite I thought that it would be a nice story to have all these three characters in a story and to give more background to Jega while ascending as a Spartan Killer in the ranks of Atriox's army, always seeking revenge from the two who drove him crazy and deformed his body.
However, don't expect a new episode soon this was finished at 3 AM after watching the "Headhunters" short for like the millionth time.
