Will The Angry
Disclaimer: I know this is unlikely to happen but even Will Byers needs to unload. Ignores the Vecna storyline and the Byers/Hopper kids go to Hawkins for Spring Break instead of Mike coming to them and Hopper is dead. Warning, some offensive language is in this.
"Are you serious right now?" One Will Byers asked tiredly and perhaps aggravatedly to his and the Party's old tormenters, Troy and James.
Both look at him in shock, not expecting him to even ask that as their cronies look on and even making comments of their own. "Well, yeah, freak. What are you gonna do about it?" Troy finally tells him and the reaction that gets is one they weren't expecting.
Will starts to laugh but its not one of happiness and to be honest, Will's not exactly been a hundred percent happy to be back in Hawkins like he thought he would. Namely on account of Mrs. Wheeler and Jonathan keeping a close eye on him for their mother, who tends to call a lot as it is just to make sure he's okay. Making him feel like he's a little kid all over again and part of him wishes that he'd just stayed back in Lenora instead of coming since at least then his mom wouldn't be so frantically worried! He even feels a little guilty for thinking that way but Will can't help it as its just really hard to enjoy himself because of all that. The jealousy he feels over Mike and El's relationship hasn't really helped matters any and he had the horrible paranoia of waiting for the other shoe to finally drop where something bad was going to happen. And he absolutely hated that feeling too.
But at least Eddie Munson has been super welcoming towards him and it makes the boy wish the move never happened as Eddie makes D & D so damned fun like he remembers it can be. Something he got to experience when the 3 time Senior chose to hold a game night in his honor. And now, to add on to everything to Will's growing bad mood, he just had to run into Troy, James, and their bunch of Mouthbreathers when he'd been out for a ride on Mike's bike since his was all the way back in Lenora. Which this unwanted encounter had brought all the old names and insults back and well… Will was just done with it all. "What am I gonna do about it?"
"Yeah! You've always been a little bitch that should've just stayed dead." Troy told him nastily and got laughs for his words.
Any other time, Will would've flinched and been vastly unhappy, but this wasn't any other time. "Wow, I guess El making you piss your pants and breaking your arm didn't teach you much of a lesson. Or, maybe you're just slow."
Troy and James both paled over that while their four cronies snickered. "But you being slow, I guess that would make sense because you clearly haven't learned how to come up with better insults since Middle School."
Flushing angrily, Troy went to hit him but Will ducked it and even offered up a punch of his own to the boy's face. Sending the shocked bully stumbling back. "Yeah, I've learned how to punch too now. Benefits of having a Brother who knows how to do it." Will supplied helpfully as he spotted a near by metal pipe and went to grab it.
Thankfully being left alone by the others as he did so, making him guess they were all too shocked by what he'd just done. Once he got it, he looked towards Jennifer Hayes, who flinched. "I thought you were smarter than to hang out with Mouthbreathers like these guys but I guess I was wrong." He told her not too kindly and making her flinch again.
"Hey! Don't talk to my girlfriend like that, you damned Zombie Freak!" James yelled at him.
"AND you have incredibly bad taste, wow." Tsked Will with a shake of the head.
Which got James to come after him, only for him to end up on the ground with a pained scream after Will used the metal pipe on his knee. "I might be a Zombie Fairy, but even I have better taste than him."
What he did next not only shocked those present but horrified Troy thanks to the fact Will used that pipe he found to smash in one of the windows of his rather expensive looking car his mother had gotten him. "MY WINDOW!"
"And you scream like a girl, who knew?" Will asked with a shake of the head as he acted as if he was cleaning out his ear from the scream.
Troy angrily came towards him but stopped as Will pointed his pipe at him and then at the others. "If you want to be experiencing pain like little James here…"
His obvious threat was enough to make them all back off and he smiled. "You guys are smart after all. I'm so proud!" Mocked the angry teenager right before he smashed the windshield of Troy's car just as the Party were showing up.
"You know, smashing things makes me feel kinda good. And I've needed to feel good since I got here since everyone and everything likes to act as if I'm some kind of fragile thing ready to break at any moment!" Snarled Will as he kept going to town on Troy's car.
Not giving a damn whatsoever if this got him in serious trouble. Faintly, he could hear Max claiming what he was doing was rather hot in her view. Eventually, Will dropped the pipe with a tired sigh and for good measure, punched Troy again. "I might be a fairy, but at least I'm not a piece of shit like you and your 'friends' here are." He declared as James had looked in the direction of the Party and paled when he saw the girl who broke Troy's arm a couple years ago.
And after some prompting from Max, El waved at him with a smile and he freaked the Hell out. "Troy! Its her!"
"Her who?" Wondered the confused, angry, and pained boy while Will was talking about finding a sledgehammer somewhere and taking it to the tombstone of him in the cemetary.
That for some reason had yet to be taken down and Will felt it was just another slap in the face of him and his family by people who just didn't have any respect for them here in Hawkins. James pointed out the girl to him and Troy had a similar reaction while their cronies got really confused. "Let's get the Hell out of here! We'll kick your ass some other time freak!"
"I'm shaking in my shoes!" Called out Will sarcastically and got a sneer in return before the boys and their cronies took off.
Though Jennifer had given Will an apologetic look as she'd gotten in the car but he hadn't really been paying it any attention due to his focus on his friends as they approached. "Dude… Are you okay?" Lucas asked worriedly before the others could as El gave her adopted brother a hug as she wanted him to feel better.
"Ask me that after I take a sledgehammer to my tombstone."
As it would turn out, smashing that thing would definitely make Will feel rather cathartic and wouldn't feel quite as grumpy for the remainder of his time in Hawkins.
Author's Notes: I hadn't planned it with the tombstone thing but after reading SmoothFluffle's Opposite Date one-shot on A03 I found it too good to pass on.
