(Elina's POV)
*Link & I both watched the beautiful lady dance to the music*
Elina:*in her mind* Din . . .
*I looked at Link out of the corner of my eye & saw his cheeks were slightly pink. Soon, they stopped & everyone cheered*
Jovan: Now, is there anyone in the audience who would like to dance with Din?
*The men in the audience went crazy*
Man #1: Me! Me!
Man #2: Me, too!
Old Man: Me, too!
Woman: What!? You're too old!
*Just then, Din reached her hand out towards us, mostly Link, who pointed at himself in confusion*
Jovan: All right, you lucky fellow! Get on the stage!
*The men seemed to glare at Link as he stepped up to the stage. He was just about to take Din's hand, when his face turned completely red*
Link: Uh . . . Wh - Wh - Whoa!
*He ran away*
Elina: Link, wait! *I turned & bowed to Din* I'm terribly sorry! *I ran after my brother* Link! Wait for me!
Narrator:*off-screen* Where do the changing of the seasons come from? From the flickering fingertips or the gaze of her fiery eyes that captivate in less than an instant?
*I soon caught up with Link, who was catching his breath by a tree. He then fell to the ground, snapping a branch off in the process*
Link: Rats! I'm so embarrassed! Why did I run away? Darnit!
*I kneeled down to him*
Elina: Don't be so hard on yourself.
Link:*sigh* Still. I've seen sun a pretty woman.
Elina: Me neither. There's no one like that back in the village. She's like a fairy . . . Or a Princess from a fairy tale.
*Link then got frustrated again*
Link: I had the chance to hold her delicate hand! I'm such a idiot! I'm a fool!
*He started flailing around like a mad-man*
Elina: Link, calm down!
*Suddenly, the stick he was holding went flying out of his hand & it hit the head of a horse wearing armor riding by on a hill behind us. The man riding on it was wearing head to toe gold & red armor. Two men in black armor were following him. The horse got startled*
Dark Knight: Insolent fool!
Link: Huh?
Elina: Oh dear.
*We both climbed up the hill*
Link: S - Sorry! I was blowing off some steam.
Elina: My brother didn't mean to -
General Onox: Kill them.
*Suddenly, one of the Knights swung his sword at us, bit we dodged*
Link: Wh - What did you do that for? We were in the middle of apologizing!
General Onox: No! There is no mercy for anyone who gets in my way. Not even a single ant!
*The Knights came closer to us. Link pushed me behind him*
Link: What a jerk! Why're you wearing a Knight's armor? A real Knight protects the weak against bullies like you!
Elina: Link! Don antagonize him!
General Onox: Such an idealist! Such naivete will get you killed in a world where brute strength is all that really matters.
*We were both surprised by what he said. We then dodged another attack from one of the Knights. Link then drew his sword & I got out my bow & an arrow. Link hit one Knight with his sword & I hit the other with my arrow. Suddenly, their armor fell to the ground with a empty klang*
Link: It's . . . It's empty on the inside!
Elina: What in the w - w - w - world . . .?
*Suddenly, the man in armor got off his horse & came towards us*
General Onox: You brats don't know your place.
*With every step he took, the grass seemed to dry up & die*
Elina:*in her mind* The grass dries up wherever he steps *a black mist then came out of his mouth* He's not human!
*Getting the same idea I was, Link grabbed my hand started to run away*
General Onox: Behold the power of darkness! *suddenly, Link & I were both hit by the black mist we then fell to the ground & trembled, because we couldn't move. he then grabbed each of our heads* Do you see? That's the power of the General of Darkness. It saps all manner of power. Destroying all life.
*Then, in an instant, I felt all my energy drained from me. Then, once again, everything went black*
(Third-Person POV)
*Onox left the twins on the ground as he turned to the two piles of empty armor. The black mist then filled the armor & then they sprang back to life*
General Onox: Haven't you found the Oracle of Seasons yet?
Dark Knight: We're certain she's hiding somewhere in Holodrum. We just have to figure out -
General Onox: I don't care where she is! Find her and bring her to my castle. Or else!
Dark Knight: Y - Yessir!
*Meanwhile, at the campsite of the traveling performers, the two girls were watching a little boy practicing spinning plates & laughing. In the wagon, Din was fixing her hair. Just then, a breeze went past her & she started to look worried*
Jovan: . . . 48 . . . 49 . . . 50. We made a killing!
*The boy then dropped the plates*
Mel: You're terrible at this Rishu. Imagine the child of an acrobat who can't even spin one plate!
*Jovan ran to Din as she came out of the wagon*
Jovan: Din! Because of you, we drew three times the crowd! I'm counting on you tomorrow too!
Din: Leave it to me, boss! *she then picked up one of the plates & gave it to the boy* Don't give up, Rishu! If you follow your heart you'll do it, you'll make it on stage!
Rishu: Th - Thanks, Din.
*Din then went to a portly woman with porcelain skin, & brown eyes, wearing a white veil covering her hair, a magenta dress with the symbol of the Triforce on it, & turquoise sandles, who was cooking soup over a fire*
Din: Whew, I'm hungry! Is dinner ready, Impa? I'm famished!
Impa: There you are! It's almost done. *Din pick up a piece of food from plate & ate it* Don't pick at it! That's no way for a young lady to act!
*Din skipped away*
Din: I can't help myself. It smells too good! When do we eat? *she started to looked worried again as she walked away from the camp. just then, she saw something that made her heart stop, a patch of dry ground that seemed to stretch like a path* What the . . .? *she ran over to it & kneeled down* This is terrible. The General of Darkness made these marks. Has he come this far? *a blade of grass crumbled in her hand* How much barren land does he have to spread before he'll stop? *tears filled her eyes as she looked at it. another breeze went past her. she turned around & looked down a hill to see Link & Elina, laying in the grass, unconscious* I - It's the children from earlier! *she ran over to them & touched their faces* Are they . . . Dead? N - No, thank goodness. They have had their life energy drained, but it's not too late to breath it back into them! *her hand hovered over the grass* Spirits, lend me your strength. Fill them with all the life that you can! *a bright green glow surrounded all three of them as she held the twins close in her arms. soon, they started to stir* They're waking up! *suddenly, the marks on the back of both the twin's left hands began to glow* The Triforce! *in her mind* They're hands . . . These children are . . .
(Elina's POV)
*I could smell something delicious as I opened my eyes*
Elina:*in her mind* It's familiar . . . I've smelled that before . . . Recently . . . Oh . . . A fire . . . A boiling pot of soup . . . I forgot . . .
*I didn't realize Link had opened his eyes the same time I had*
Link & Elina: I'm . . . Hungry.
*My eyes went wide when I realized that there were people standing over us*
Rishu: Oh! They're awake! They've opened their eyes!
*A girl with long black hair wearing a headband over it came closer to us*
Rom: And they're cute eyes!
Rishu: Let me see!
Link: H - Hey! Hold on! *he then climbed up a ladder so fast I didn't see him move* Wh - Wh - Who are you guys?
Rishu: Wow . . . He's fast!
Elina: Yes, my brother has always been better at climbing than me.
*Suddenly, they all looked like they were about to perform*
Jovan: We're a happy troupe of traveling performers! Yesterday we were in that town. Today we're in this town. Who knows where we'll be tomorrow? Din found you two passed out in a clump of weeds.
Din: I'm glad you guys weren't badly hurt.
*Both of our faces blushed when we saw her, but Link's was more red than mine*
Link: Huh? Th - Thanks.
Elina: Y - Yes. Thank you so much.
*A portly woman came up to us with a plate of food*
Impa: As adventures ourselves, we feel obliged to help lost souls when we find them.
Elina:*in her mind* She helped us? I didn't think we were going to survive that. That man was scary . . .
Impa: All right, children, eat up! You're lucky, this is one of my best dishes!
*There was also a giant bowl of soup. Link & I both started to eat*
Link: Th - Thank you! It tastes great!
Elina: Delicious!
Din: Tastes good, eh? Impa may be a farmhouse cook from a tiny town in Hyrule, but she's the best chef I've ever met.
Impa: Din!
Link: Oh, we're from Hyrule too.
Impa: Oh? Why did you come here?
Elina: Well, you see . . . We went to Hyrule Castle to take the Knight's Trial, but . . . *I explained our story to them* Suddenly, when we opened our eyes, somehow we were here . . . Wherever here is.
Rishu: This is Holodrum.
Jovan: Hyrule is pretty far away! You say you two just woke up here? That's weird.
Link & Elina: Holo . . . drum?
Elina:*in her mind* When we were under the Castle, and touched the pyramid, a light flashed . . .
*Just then, Impa took both of our left hands*
Impa: Oh, your hands! In Hyrule this is a Sacred Symbol. You two are destined to become important people!
*We both blushed, took our hands back, & went back to eating*
Link: They're just birthmarks. We're just regular kids.
Din: So what are your names, "regular kids?"
Link: Us? Link. I'm Link.
Elina: And I'm Elina.
Link & Elina: We're twins!
Elina: Thank you all again for your help.
Din: Link and Elina? What nice names. You're staying with us tonight. That's okay isn't, Boss?
Jovan: Of course!
Link: Wow! You're so kind.
Elina: How can we repay you?
