Bad Cop
Judy paused before she and her partner headed into the interrogation room where their suspect had been given time to sweat before being questioned.
"I wanna be Bad Cop this time," she insisted.
Nick shook his head. "We've talked about this, Carrots. You're just way too cute to be Bad Cop."
Judy didn't even twitch an ear at the "c" word since the sly fox was the only one she allowed to use it. After all, the adjective just sounded different...better...when Nick said it. Nevertheless, his logic was flawed and she let him know it.
"If physical unattractiveness is the only criteria, then you certainly can't be Bad Cop, either," she told him matter-of-factly.
At her obvious compliment, the fox's grin widened.
"You're absolutely right, Carrots!" he replied as his voice lowered to a conspiratorial whisper. "Let's get Chief Bogo to do it."
Judy giggled at his joke before she bounced up to playfully sock his arm.
"Ow!" Nick exclaimed loudly as he rubbed that appendage dramatically. "You know, for such a little mammal, you pack a mean punch. Perhaps you'd make a good Bad Cop, after all. You've certainly mastered police brutality."
Judy just smiled at his antics before she jumped up again...this time to kiss him on his cheek.
Who knew foxes could blush? she silently mused at his reaction. Now that was cute!
"You know you love me," was her only verbal response, however.
"Do I know that?" Nick pretended to think before he gave his heartfelt reply. "Yes. Yes, I do!"
They smiled at each other in friendly warmth...and perhaps even more...before they finally remembered they had a suspect waiting.
"I still claim Bad Cop!" Judy asserted.
This time, however, Nick just shrugged in acquiescence...anything to make his bunny happy!
