The trip is dead silent, and neither Mack nor I talk at all. Hmmmm…What can Mack and I talk about? I don't know. I rode with Mack during the racing center trip, and Adelaide and I met with him countless times.
Adelaide kept on hitting Cruz's door pre-race. Dad used to have Cruz herself a pep talk, but Adelaide banged on Cruz's door every time. Thanks for making Cruz late. I followed Dad, and Adelaide kept on hitting Cruz door again. It happens for most seasons. At least Mack can remind Cruz and get Adelaide out of there.
Other times, I give Cruz with a quart of oil and a friendly note. I give the town residents everything and stick by them no matter what. That's what I have to do. Keep my loved ones closer and everyone else further. Good thing Mack noticed these notes because Cruz just saves them in the trailer.
During one of Cruz's seasons, Zachary, Adelaide, Mack, and I cheered Cruz on. Adelaide admitted she banged on Cruz's door, and I admitted about giving Cruz about the quarts of oil and friendly notes. At least Mack admitted that we can remind Cruz if she takes a while long.
Those were such memories, but I still can't figure it out. These memories are distracting me a bit too much. Mack mutters a word or two. I couldn't figure out what to talk about. It's so hard to think these days.
"Uh, Boss, how's your day?" Mack says.
"Fine, I guess. I don't know," I say.
"Did you really want to race?"
"Well, I would like to. However, I'm not sure about this. I'm only doing this for Adelaide. She's my sister, and brothers and sisters stick together."
It's supposed to be like that, right? Well, if issues occur, everything would be fine in the end. Most of the time, everything's fine. Adelaide, Zachary, and I have went our separate ways, but it's fine. I swear it is.
I swear with all my heart that everyone's fine! Whoever contradicts me is wrong! We are McQueens, and we can overcome this! Never doubt my will! Never doubt my will to stay by their side! They're my family!
We must stay by each other's side no matter what, Don't break it. They've been a part of your life, and I can't betray them like that. Why betray family, the ones who loved you all your life? Why would Zachary and Adelaide do such things? We three made a promise, why break it? Why did you have to betray me, Zachary? We're best friends and twins.
A traitor can never be trusted ever again. No one betrayed me, and no one will. My family hasn't betrayed me, but they betrayed each other. How could they betray each other? How could Adelaide and Zachary do this to our sibling friendship? We had it all, and…nothing, siblings hating each other until…
Adelaide, don't drive Zachary away from us. We've been close for years. I miss the times we spent together at home! I miss tractor tipping with Dad and Mater! When will you and Zachary go back to the way things were?
Zachary, don't push Adelaide away from us too. Just accept Adelaide becoming a racer. Doc Hudson probably meant a lot to Adelaide and…Please let Adelaide do this for everyone we love. She doesn't hate us. She's just…doing her best.
"Are you just being a good brother to her?" Mack says.
"Yes," I say, "Also, are we there yet?"
"Almost."
Mack and I travel and pass by a few sights. The sight of the beach moves along with us. The beach looks empty and beautiful, but it could definitely look nice someday. Maybe a crowd of crabs and tractors can settle there.
My wall looks plain, and it feels empty, empty and sad. My room could be filled with so much. What should I put on my wall? I don't know. My box of stuff sits there collecting dust. Mack and I pull over a few minutes, and Charleston Speedway isn't anywhere.
Mack, where are we? This doesn't look like Charleston Speedway. We're not even near a racetrack! Did we break down? Do I need a new trailer? No, I just had Mack, and he has been around during Cruz's racing seasons.
"Mack, is everything alright?" I ask.
"I just wanted to take a quick stop for a few minutes," Mack says.
"Alright, but don't we have to continue?"
We continue back on track. Adelaide and I tipped a billion tractors when we were little, but this race is a big deal for her. I promise to myself to not screw up. This is meant for my sister, and she needs me. My dreams aren't Adelaide's. Adelaide has the ambition for this. It's best for the both of us.
Adelaide has always brought up the glory of the Hudson Hornet Legacy. She still believes it is. "Dad and Doc Hudson knew him forever until…he passed away," and she believed in racing in the legacy. "Doc's history would live." Well, one thing I learned from an incident with the photo was I was named after Doc Hudson. That was it.
At least Adelaide made it her destiny to restore what was glorious. At least she's happy about it. It wouldn't have mattered. Zachary on the other hand…hates this. He has no sense of heart toward her. Please make amends, Zachary and Adelaide! Fighting never helps! Everyone should be peaceful. Well, except for Leah Tran.
I hate you competitors with every mile you take. You're Cruz's foul enemies, and you can't train on dirt! They're so lame for these two reasons. How dare you punish me for the Danny Swervez win incident and Chase Racelott! They deserve it for stealing Cruz's spotlight! At least, I can get away with mocking Jackson Storm with Adelaide and Zachary twenty-four seven, and good thing I got away with confronting Leah.
Nasty Leah Tran is under the belt. Too bad Adelaide didn't see this, and good thing she doesn't know. Adelaide didn't see the fight between us, and I didn't tell her about it. How would she end up knowing about this situation? Leah might beat us in every race. Leah might end up treating Adelaide the same way. She has no sense of remorse or respect for others.
"Are we ready yet?" I ask.
"Yeah, let's go," Mack says.
Mack and I make it, and I leave him before meeting with Adelaide. A few trailers park on some parking spots. The other trailer spots remain empty. The empty parking lot exposes my trailers and a few other trailers.
The other trailers have racers sponsoring for Mood Springs and IGNTR. I skim at all of the names and skip everything else. Whoever those racers are…just competitors. They can't outsmart the McQueens.
If you racers win, you're gonna get what Chase Racelott and Danny Swervez got! It's either you cheated or lost! I read the two racers' names. Huh, one racer is Sara Stephans. The other…Henry Moore. Whatever!
"Bye, Mack," I say.
"See ya Boss!" Mack says.
Adelaide, where are you? I leave my trailer. Adelaide and I have to meet somewhere, and I only know her. Well, I know Leah Tran, but she was just…"Ugh" to us. She disrespected an elder! Respect your elders and authority! There's nothing wrong with me? Is there?
A blue trailer parks at a parking spot. The trailer read,"Dinoco" and "Adelaide McQueen." Hurray, Adelaide's here. Adelaide makes it at last as she discusses her ambitions, and I discuss Leah. By good luck, we made it first. In your face, Leah Tran! However, me and Mack's trip was long and had a few bumps here and there.
We made it early, Adelaide. Two other racers have made it before us. Their names are Sara Stephans and Henry Moore. Whoever they are can go…they might not stand a chance. They probably can go two hundred miles in a second while we can go twice as that.
"How was your trip to the track?" I ask.
"Alright, but it's a lot. What about you?" Adelaide says.
"There was an issue, but we managed to make it."
Leah's got to be…A trailer read "Tank Coat" arrives…Wait a minute. It turns out she's here. Aww man. Leah and two other racers approach us, and I tell Leah off. Cruz ain't stopping me this time. When will the race begin? Don't put me in Leah trouble again!
I already got away with this once. It will happen again. You're a rookie, Leah, a noob, just like me and Adelaide! We're just going down two different paths in life! One for success and the other for failure. You're not messing with me again, and don't you dare drag Adelaide into this mess!
If you drag Adelaide into this mess, you can get free humiliation by me! You don't want that, would you? Three competitors got it, and you could be next! It's okay for you to end up like Chase Racelott and Danny Swervez. I almost had it, but you made me and Cruz have "common sense!"
"It's that child again!" Leah glares.
"Oh, bring it on, Nasty Leah Tran!" I blow raspberries.
