The next day, Kim was back in school. She got detention for having gotten out of class for « no reason », as the teacher said, but she was in a somewhat good mood. Fighting Shego had made the bad days go away, for some reason. Okay, she didn't just think that. But somehow, it was true. She liked fighting against Shego.
She was her perfect adversary. Kim even learned new moves thanks to the green vilainess. She already knew a lot, but Shego was a great fighter. Aside from her green (and dangerous) powers, she sure could fight ! It was something Kim admired about her. That, and her intelligence. Her wits. The fact that she was not only evil, and sometimes could put her « villainy » aside to save Kim.
During the break, Kim learned from Wade that Drakken had been arrested, but not Shego. Where on earth was she ? Kim frowned. Could she have gotten stuck under the debris of the lair ? Could she have...no. This was Shego. She was fine, she had just escaped Global Justice, that was all. She had outwitted them, not for the first time and certainly not for the last time. Kim tried not to think about Shego and went back to class.
But her brain wouldn't let her focus on what the teacher was saying. Even during the cheerleading training, her mind was not in her body, and she got called off by Bonnie one to many times. She yelled at her just like she had wanted to do for two days now. So satisfying to see the girl be shocked by the outburst ! Kim ran out of practice when it ended, feeling better because she had yelled at her school enemy.
She then remembered the Shego situation, and she called Wade back, asking him to tell her if Shego was seen from now on. Hearing this, Ron, who was beside her as they walked home together, asked :
- Why is it so important for you to know where Shego is ? Don't worry, she'll be back with another theft, and we'll be able to catch her this time !
- I don't know, I just feel like...I think something happened to her, Ron. Why wasn't she arrested yesterday ? She was with Drakken, and they seemed pretty out of it when we got out. What if..
- What if what, KP ? Shego just got away, it happened before ! I don't see what's bothering you that much. She fled, she's not hurt or dead because of the destruction of the lair ! She's clever, she's fast, she got away. It takes a lot for her to be caught, you know that ? She's okay, be sure of it.
Kim wasn't really convinced, but she was thankful that he tried to reassure her, so she told him that she would not worry anymore. Shego was fine, she was safe, and she knew how to take care of herself, Kim told herself before going to sleep.
