Chapter 14: The Return of the Uchiha Brothers
A raven haired eighteen year old was just returning home after another successful mission for the village. That raven haired eighteen year old was none other than Sasuke Uchiha who was considered the sole survivor of the Uchiha massacre. Sasuke was a boy driven by revenge, as he wanted to hunt down the man who massacred his own family and the entire clan, which was his older brother, Itachi Uchiha. Anyways, as Sasuke returns to his house, he encounters a shocking surprise. "No, it can't be…you?!" Sasuke shouted at the man who was standing in the kitchen. The man was none other than Itachi Uchiha, as he came out of the kitchen dressed in his anbu uniform. "Hello little brother, it has been a while, hasn't it?" he asked calmly. "Itachi, after all these years, you finally show your face," Sasuke said, as he looked enraged at the man responsible for the fateful night. "I see you have finally become a jonin, I'm impressed. I hope you are strong enough to be worthy of that rank," Itachi stated calmly.
"Yes, I have become strong…ENOUGH TO KILL YOU WITH ALL MY ANGER AND HATE I HELD TOWARDS YOU!" Sasuke shouted, as his eyes turned into the sharingan. He prepares a lightning-powered attack on his left arm and rushes at Itachi. But before he could strike Itachi, Sasuke was knocked out by someone behind him and fell to the floor unconscious. The person who knocked out Sasuke was none other than Naruto, as he had been hiding from the shadows. "Let's take him to the Hokage's office, it's time we end this senseless feud once and for all," Naruto stated, as Itachi nodded. Naruto picks up the unconscious Sasuke, as he and Itachi use the body flicker jutsu to leave the place. A few minutes later, Sasuke woke up to see himself on a small sofa at the Hokage's office.
"I see you finally woke up, good I was worried you wouldn't be moving any time soon," Kakashi stated. "Kakashi…wait a minute, Itachi! Kakashi, I saw Itachi Uchiha in my house! He's here in the village!" Sasuke stated, before Kakashi calmed him down. "I know and that's why I brought him here so that you could finish things. You two can come out now," Kakashi stated, as both Naruto and Itachi came out of the shadows. Sasuke was shocked, not only Itachi was here, but also Naruto as well. "Naruto, is that you?!" Sasuke asked, looking shocked. "Hello Sasuke, it's been a while," Naruto said calmly, as his face showed no interest in greeting him as a friend. "Itachi, it's time you told duck-butt here the truth about what happened that night," Naruto stated. "Agreed, Itachi it's now or never," Kakashi stated, looking rather serious, as he placed privacy seals. "Sasuke, what I'm about to tell is the truth about why I massacred the clan that night," Itachi stated, as Sasuke looked shocked but confused.
"The truth?! You said that you massacred them because you wanted to test your powers that night," Sasuke spat. "I lied, that wasn't the reason why I did it," Itachi stated. "Tell me then, either way it won't take back the fact that you are a cold blooded murderer and traitor," Sasuke stated. "I know and I don't expect you to forgive me, but you must understand why I did it," Itachi replied. Itachi began to explain everything starting from the beginning and even though Naruto already heard the truth from Itachi, it still bothered him knowing that the man responsible for leaking the truth about his jinchuriki status was the one to orchestrate the Uchiha massacre taking away the lives of the Uchiha's that had no part in the failed rebellion. Sasuke wasn't having it, "You lie! There is no way what you said was true!" he spat. Itachi sighed, "Very well, I believe it's time I showed you everything from my point of view." Itachi places Sasuke in a genjutsu reliving all of Itachi's memories, as Sasuke saw everything that happened leading up to the night he murdered the clan.
"No, that's not true, that's impossible!" Sasuke yelled, as he couldn't believe it. "It is the truth, what you saw was everything I had to do. I made your life a living hell, stole your childhood away. For that I am sorry for everything I did," Itachi stated solemnly. As much as Sasuke tried to deny the truth, deep down he knew Itachi wasn't lying. He just couldn't believe it and even if he accepted the truth, it still hurts knowing that the village he lived and served in ordered his own brother to commit that action. "This whole time…I have held hate towards you, not knowing that you did all this so that I could live," Sasuke said emotionlessly. Itachi nodded, to which Sasuke cried as he couldn't believe the man he hated was only doing this for him. But soon Sasuke stopped crying as rage filled him, knowing who was truly responsible for this. "The village was the one that did this. They were the reason why our clan was looked at with fear, hate, and suspicion. They were the one that made you suffer through that unexcusable crime. The village shall suffer the wrath of the UCHIHA!" Sasuke yelled, awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan with blood coming from his eyes.
But before Sasuke could do anything, Naruto places Sasuke in a binding spell. "Let me go this instant Naruto or else you too will face my wrath!" Sasuke yelled in anger, before he got punched in the face by Naruto. "You fucking idiot, did you not hear what Itachi said! He sacrificed his own life, his own family and friends, his own reputation, so that you and the village could live to see another day! If you destroy this village and everyone in it, all those sacrifices he made will be for nothing! Are you willing to throw everything away to satisfy your revenge?!" Naruto yelled in anger. "Then tell me what I should do?! I need my revenge, I want retribution for the loss of my entire family and clan!" Sasuke yelled. "I get it Sasuke, someone has to pay for this. But it shouldn't be the entire village, no, it should be someone who orchestrated all this senseless violence. The one who should pay is Danzo Shimura. That bastard was responsible for everything that happened and he too will face my wrath," Naruto said coldly.
Sasuke was shocked by this, so Naruto explained everything. "Danzo was the one who leaked my status and was the reason why the village hated me. Yes, I am the Nine Tails Jinchuriki and everyone except our own former classmates knew about this. I do not give a shit about the villagers except for a few of them or this god forsaken village, but I came back to take care of some unfinished business. Danzo is one of them, as I knew scum like him shouldn't be alive. So if you want to take revenge, go after Danzo and his organization," Naruto stated, looking rather serious. "Agreed. Sasuke, if you want to avenge the clan, it's Danzo you should go after," Itachi stated. Sasuke was silent, before he nodded in agreement. "Alright then, my new goal is to hunt down Danzo and take him down once and for all," Sasuke said calmly. "Take heed, before we do anything hasty, just know that Danzo is a private man and will have his men spying on you. If we are to do this, we need to catch him off guard," Kakashi stated, as the three looked at him. "What do you have in mind?" Naruto asked, as Kakashi made the plan.
The Next Day
Danzo was walking to the Hokage's office, as he was summoned there for a meeting. "You wish to see me, Hatake?" he asked. "It is lord fifth to you, but yes please have a seat as I merely wish to speak to you about something," Kakashi stated calmly, knowing that he needs to trap Danzo in this moment. Danzo was suspicious, but complied and as he took a seat, that's when he was unable to move, as chains binded him and before he could react, he was petrified. "Ok you guys can come out now," Kakashi stated, as it was revealed that Naruto and his friends came out of Harry's invisibility cloak, as they did a non-verbal spell which was Petrificus Totalus. But to make sure it worked, Itachi and Sasuke worked to create a genjutsu to make them not appear in the area, leaving only Kakashi in the room. "Looks like the plan went off without a hitch," Harry stated. Naruto soon applied a chakra suppressing tag on Danzo, as he looked at Kakashi. "Request a council meeting, I think it's time the village should know the truth," Naruto stated, as Kakashi nodded.
Soon a council meeting took place as the shinobi and civilian council gathered around to see what was the reason why they were called. "Why are we here? This meeting is not needed," Homura said, as he waited for the Fifth Hokage to arrive. "The Hokage requested this meeting Homura. One does not refuse such a request by the Hokage for an important meeting," said Tsume, clan head of the Inuzuka clan. She, along with the rest of the Clan Heads were curious about the nature of this meeting, and what exactly was needed of them. "Thank you for coming, I requested this meeting to discuss the trial of a traitor and someone who has committed treason amongst the village," Kakashi stated. "You may bring him out now," Kakashi called, as the door opened. The shinobi and civilian council were shocked, as it was none other than Naruto Uzumaki, Itachi Uchiha, and Sasuke Uchiha, as they carried an incapacitated Danzo Shimura.
"It's the brat holding the Nine Tails! Lord Hokage, kill him now!" one of the civilian council members yelled, before he got his head cut off by one of the Anbu. "The civilian council has no right when it comes to giving orders revolving around my own shinobi. Besides, the holder of the Nine Tails has a name, so address him by his name or else…" Kakashi said calmly. This caused outrage as the civilian council and elders weren't happy with what was going on, until Kakashi silenced them. "Enough, the whole point of the trial is not about Naruto Uzumaki or Itachi Uchiha, it is about the traitor we have caught committing treason. Naruto, the floor is yours," Kakashi stated. Naruto nodded, "Today me and my allies here have caught a potential traitor and true culprit of the Uchiha Massacre. But that's not all, while we have incapacitated him, we also did a little infiltration towards his secret base and found many things that should be considered treason. From conspiring with an enemy of the village to recruiting unsuspecting people towards his group, going as far as to funding illegal if not unethical experiments with the use of the late Uchiha clan's eyes. Danzo Shimura, is the traitor of the village," Naruto said.
"Lies! Lord Hokage, the demon brat is lying! Have him arrested for this false claim he made towards one the honorable elders of the village!" Koharu yelled, until one of the Anbu held up an unsheathed tanto to her neck. "Only the Hokage makes the order, not you or the civilian council," the Anbu said coldly and calmly. "Thank you Raven," Kakashi said, before looking at Naruto. "Continue speaking Naruto," he said, as the blond nodded. "Right, anyways to make Danzo tell the truth, I'm going to give him a little dose of a medicine that will get him to talk or rather sing like a canary," Naruto stated, as he took out a vial of Veritaserum. Given that the chakra suppressing tag was still on Danzo, he didn't try to resist as he wasn't able to, meaning that Naruto managed to force feed the old war hawk the potion. Danzo reveals everything to the council about what he did, from how he colluded with Orochimaru to how he orchestrated the Uchiha Massacre.
Naruto even showed the council actual evidence of Danzo's crimes by using a small wind jutsu to cut the bandages around the war hawk's face to show off the Sharingan that was hidden there, along with the other ones hidden in his right arm. Both Sasuke and Itachi were disgusted by how Danzo desecrated their clan by stealing the Sharingan. But to make things interesting, Naruto secretly applied a seal to make Danzo speak the full truth by forcing his brain to speak the truth with the feelings of anger, frustration, and spite knowing that his plan failed. Now Danzo tried to destroy everyone in the room with a seal he placed on his torso that was meant to have enough chakra for it to work, but it seemed that it didn't work thanks to Naruto's chakra suppression seal. "I think we have heard enough, as such Danzo Shimura you are charged with the acts of murder, treason, genocide, and conspiration. I sentence you to DEATH," Kakashi declared, before having Naruto, Itachi, and Sasuke be the one to execute Danzo. The three nodded, as Itachi used Amaterasu to burn Danzo as the war hawk writhed in pain, whereas Naruto and Sasuke combined their respective jutsu to drill or rather stab Danzo in the heart. The war hawk was no more, as a hole belonged where his heart once lied. "Anbu, take the traitor's body away. Also if any of Danzo's men try to retaliate do not hesitate to use full force," Kakashi stated, as the Anbu nodded before leaving. "Naruto Uzumaki and Itachi Uchiha. We thank you for bringing light to who the true culprit of the Uchiha Massacre was. As such, Itachi Uchiha, you will be pardoned for the crime," Kakashi stated. Itachi wanted to protest this, but from how Sasuke looked, he soon accepted the pardon.
"Kakashi, it's time you reveal the truth about me," Naruto stated. Kakashi was surprised by how serious Naruto was about it, but he accepted knowing full well Naruto could handle it. "It's time you know the truth about Naruto Uzumaki's parentage. For the jinchuriki of the Nine Tails, is none other than the son of the Fourth Hokage," Kakashi stated. The shinobi council knew of this, but kept it a secret from their kids as ordered by the late Third Hokage. However, the civilian council was shocked and outraged by the ridiculous claim, until Naruto showed them proof of his heritage, which shut them up for good. "If he is the son of the Fourth Hokage and the heir of the Uzumaki clan, he must be placed in the CRA," Homura stated, as the other civilian council members agreed. However, Naruto sensed their true reasoning as to why they agreed with that. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have no interest in the CRA," Naruto said. The civilian council was shocked and demanded he do so as he is a shinobi of the leaf, but Kakashi came to his defense. "Even though he may be the son of my former sensei, he isn't a shinobi of the village. As such, he is free to make his decision. Tell me Naruto, what is your choice?" Kakashi asked. "I'm not a shinobi of this village and since the villagers drove me out of the village along with treating me in horrendous ways, why should I even come back? If my mother and father were alive and saw the way you hypocrites treated me, they would have been disgusted and disappointed towards you all. My father wanted me to be seen as a hero, instead you disobeyed his order and took your unjustified anger towards me and tampered with my education and the way I live my life. The way I see it, you're all a bunch of freeloaders, phonies, two-faced pieces of shit, sycophantic suck ups. You chose to treat me like a monster and now you all smile through your teeth and act like we're a bunch of good old friends. Please, leave me in peace. Please just curb your bullshit and let me live my life in peace," Naruto stated nonchalantly, as he insulted the civilian council.
"I agree with Naruto, he is free to make his own decision and as one of the heirs of the Uchiha clan, I vouch for him," Sasuke stated, as Itachi agreed. "Well there you have it, Naruto is his own man and as Hokage, I believe some changes are in order. As such, the civilian council will have no right in interfering with any and all shinobi business. Also to the members of the civilian council who have done harm towards Naruto, you will compensate him for everything you have done and immediately resign from your position, lest you want to face the consequences by having your crimes exposed towards the public with the possibility of going to prison," Kakashi stated. The civilian council was pretty miffed, but soon they accepted nonetheless as there was no other choice. "Now that we are all on the same page, I believe the meeting is over. You may all leave now," Kakashi stated, as everybody left the council chambers. As Naruto and the Uchiha brothers were walking out, they talked about stuff. "Naruto…I just want to thank you. For bringing back my brother and knocking some sense to me, so for that I thank you," Sasuke said gratefully. Naruto nodded, "Sasuke, come to my parents house later today. It's time I told you or rather show you everything I did when I was missing. Tell Kakashi as well, as he has the right to know also." Sasuke nodded and soon he and Itachi left to catch up on things.
At the Ninja Academy
A brown-haired man with a spiky ponytail, dark eyes, and a scar that runs across the bridge of his nose was done teaching the last class of the day at the academy. That man was Iruka Umino, who was once Naruto's instructor before the blond went missing. At first Iruka despised the boy as he once thought the boy was the Nine Tails reincarnated ever since the fox took away the lives of his parents, but over time he got to know the boy and realized he was just an orphan like him. Even though he was strict with the boy because of his antics, Iruka still cared for Naruto as he saw him as a younger brother. When he heard about what happened to Naruto, Iruka blamed himself for not doing enough and went through a severe depression, as he had failed a child who had potential to achieve his dream. Luckily Iruka was brought out of his depression through the Third Hokage along with some of the Jonin's who actually never hated Naruto, and as such Iruka returned to teaching with a new resolve: To never let down any of his students ever again.
As Iruka was packing his bag, someone knocked on the door. "Come in," he said, as the door opened. Iruka was shocked by who the person was that entered his classroom. It was Naruto, as he appears to be looking happy seeing his old instructor. "Hello Iruka sensei, it's been a while," Naruto said, with a smile. "Naruto, is that you?" Iruka asked, hoping it was him. Naruto smiled and nodded, before Iruka rushed at him and hugged his former student tightly, as he cried in happiness. Naruto returned the hug, as he was glad to see his former mentor was still ok. "Naruto, you're alive! Thank god, it's really you. You really came back," Iruka stated, as Naruto nodded. "Where were you? What happened to you? There's so many questions I have to ask," Iruka stated. "Calm down Iruka, it's a pretty long story. But I'll tell you everything," Naruto stated as Iruka nodded. The two exchanged their tales about what had been going on with each other's lives. Needless to say Iruka was shocked and surprised by what Naruto described about the world he lived in when he was missing. He was even impressed by Naruto's magic, as the blond showed him one of the spells which was a Patronus spell. Not only that, Iruka was shocked when Naruto revealed the truth about what happened the night Naruto was born from who his parents were to who was the one to cause the incident. Iruka could only shake his head in disbelief, but he believed what Naruto said was true given that Naruto's eyes showed that he was telling the truth. "You really experienced a lot, have you?" Iruka asked, as Naruto nodded. "Well at least you are ok, that's all that matters," Iruka stated. "Anyways, I gotta head back to my house. My group is expecting me, so talk to you later," Naruto said, as he began to leave. "Wait Naruto, I just want to say that it was good seeing you again," Iruka said, as Naruto smiled and nodded before leaving. 'Naruto, you really have grown up. I'm proud of you,' he thought, as he finished packing his bag before leaving the empty classroom.
