Jaken was grumbling under his breath as the damn group followed him. When he told the girl to come, he meant just her! But no, the whole damn group had to come. No matter, her Lady ship would deal with them, he was sure! That's if he didnt kill one of them first. Two days traveling with these damn humans was a punishment from his Lord; he just knew it!

"My LORRRRRD, WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS!" Jaken cried when they finally made it, and he saw Sesshomaru standing next to his mother as she sat on her throne. Rin played on the steps at her feet.

"Enough Jaken, rest."

Jaken fell over, exhausted.

Sesshomaru's mother looked at the group. "Do you plan to bring them all?" She asked,

"The Miko," Sesshomaru said,

"I see two. To which one do you refer, son of mine?"

He looked down at his mother. Was she really asking him that?

"He means her, of course," Kikyo pushed Kagome forward. "Holder of the jewel's power and knowledge of the future, only she would be worthy enough to service the West," Kikyo's plan was starting.

Inuyasha eyed Kikyo,

InuKimi stood and walked to Kagome and around her. "I see, so you have become one with the jewel?"

Kagome gulped. "I just want to perform a marriage," She said; Kagome feared this woman way more than her son.

"You would need to pledge to the house of the West and get our blessings to do so, Miko," She stated,

"And only those who matter are graced with such blessing!" Jaken stood waving his staff,

"So not humans?" Kagome asked, feeling defeated already.

"Of course not, you foooolllllllllllllll-ahhhh" A boot sent Jaken flying,

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru. "You didn't have to do that,"

"Oi, wait a minute, aint Sesshomaru got to be mated to take the West?"

"Stop your barking Inuyasha," Sesshomaru cut short.

"Sesshomaru has to get a wife!" Kagome gasped, making the demon lord look at her again. All the fear from the demoness woman in front of her was gone.

"My mother is bonding to another soon; I merely must take over,"

"So no wife?" Kagome asked,

"I was not aware you were invested in my love life, Miko,"

"Lack thereof," Inuyasha said under his breath,

"Hurray, Lord Sesshomaru is getting married!" Rin jumped up.

"Rin." Sesshomaru tried to calm her,

"Can I come to the wedding," Kagome teased,

"Now, who has the death wish," Inuyasha asked,

"That is a human tradition, Miko," He said, "Rin, sit down."

"Rin can be the flower girl!" Kagome said thoughtfully,

"Oi, why are you planning my brother's wedding?"

"Because it's your brother!"

"The fuck does that mean Kagome?"

"Do you even have an intended?" Miroku asked,

"Enough, Miko; you have had your fun," Sesshomaru ignored Miroku.

Kagome waved him off,

"Enough!" His mother silenced them all and looked at her son. "You indulge her; why?"

Kagome snorted. "I'm not sure indulge is the right word,"

His mother's golden deadly eyes moved back to Kagome. "Do you always speak for my son?"

Kagome closed her mouth.

"If I may, it would seem they must tolerate one another," Kikyo added,

"Oh?" His mother asked before looking at her son again. "Why not simply kill her?"

Kagome's jaw hit the floor, the nerve of this woman!

Sesshomaru stayed silent, obviously not thrilled to answer his mother's question.

"It would seem they cannot kill one another," Kikyo told her, making the woman look at her again and then back at her son. "Is this true?"

"For now," He said,

"For now!" Kagome put her hands on her hips. "I'm ready when you are, buddy!"

His mother laughed, scaring them all. "You are a funny creature; indeed, perhaps having you around would prove very amusing," She became serious and moved closed to Kagome. "Do you fear me?"

"Yes,"

"But not him?"

"Only sometimes,"

Sesshomaru and Kagome looked at each other,

"You do not fear her?"

He didn't respond to this stupid question,

"No, but you do respect her," His mother said,

They all found that shocking.

"Very well, Miko, I will oblige my son in this matter under two conditions,"

"Ok?" Kagome said slowly. "One, you will perform my mating,"

"Will that be, ok?"

"It will be because I say it so," Then she looked to her son. "And you will have 1 season to find a mate, or I will find one for you!"

"And the throne?" He asked,

"If the Miko is to serve in your house, I will allow it now,"

"What does Kagome have to do with it?" Sango asked out loud,

Inukimi didn't look at her "Checks and balances; she will serve in place of the queen,"

"Are you ok with this?" Kagome asked,

"Hn, it shall be done as you wish, Mother,"

Kikyo smirked. Perfect.
