Chapter One: Plannings
"Happy birthday to Zee." The group says happily as the group is singing to Zee.
"Not bad. But can we try it one more time? Maybe with a bit more... zhoom?" Zee asks as everyone but Alexis groans.
"You've made us sing this dumb song 50 times already!" Kara says annoyedly.
"Perhaps it is time to move on to a different part of the festivities." Diana says.
"Like presents! This is from all of us." Karen says she presents Zee with a gift.
"Oh! All of you? It's a bit small to be the pony I asked for. Kidding! Kidding! I know you're probably saving your big gifts for tomorrow." Zee says as she looks at the gift but doesn't open it.
"Uh what's tomorrow?" Babs asks as Alexis nods in agreement.
"It's my actual birthday silly." Zee says as everyone looks at her in shock.
"Tomorrow is your actual birthday? It's not today?" Alexis asks as Zee nods.
"You mean to tell me we've been wearing party hats that cut off our circulation for nothing!" Kara asks annoyedly as she takes off her party hat.
"Not for nothing. For my pre-birthday!" Zee says happily.
"Uh pre-birthday is not a thing." Diana says.
"It's totally a thing." Zee says excitedly.
"Wait. So does this mean we're doing all this celebrating again tomorrow?" Babs asks.
"Of course not! Tomorrow we're doing way more! It's all right here in my Birthday Binder. There are activities and gift ideas in order from most expensive to even more expensive. So you have options." Zee says as she drops a giant binder in front of the group much to their shock.
"Oh uh gee. Thanks Zee. This is uh thoughtful." Alexis says nervously.
"I'll let you peruse in case you wanna do a little extra last-minute shopping. Ooh! Let me get volume two!" Zee says excitedly as she walks away.
"I love Zee but when it comes to her birthday she could be a little-" Jessica then gets cut off by Kara.
"Banana-wanacray-cray sundae." Kara says as she makes a crazy gesture.
"In my homeland if someone exhibits this behavior we put them on a boat to row 500 miles with no food or water until they return to their senses. Or meet their death." Diana says as everyone but Alexis laughs.
"Come on guys. It's not so bad. Zee is just excited." Alexis says.
"Yeah and you know how she gets around this time of year. She has two full binders on her birthday. Not to mention no cheap options for gifts in them." Kara says.
"Kara does have a point. Zee tends to expect a little much on her birthday." Karen says.
"Maybe so but we're her friends. This means a lot to her." Alexis says.
"Alexis we know you like Zee and I'm guessing part of the reason you're sticking up for her is due to that but even you got to admit this is a little bit much. Even if it is Zee." Jessica says as Alexis looks at her.
"Yes. This is taking things a bit far. Even if birthdays are meant to be special." Diana says.
"Yeah. I guess you guys are right. I guess she is taking it a bit far." Alexis says reluctantly.
"Glad you agree. But even if she does get a little upset I'm sure she'll love the gift we all got her and she is bound to love the one you got her Alexis." Babs says.
"Yeah. How much did you spend on that? It couldn't have been cheap." Karen says.
"Four months worth of babysitting money. But it's worth it to see Zee happy." Alexis says.
