"Relax Zee. It'll be fine. So what if you accidentally use magic to turn your friends into birthday-crazy zombies!" Zee says worriedly as she and Alexis appear in her room.
"Oh this is not good." Alexis says worriedly.
"That actually reminds me. Why aren't you acting like this? Did my spell not affect you?" Zee asks as she looks at Alexis who blushes.
"Uh I think I know why. It's bec-" Alexis then gets cut off by a knocking sound.
"Aah!" Alexis and Zee shout in alarm seeing Karen outside the balcony doors.
"I want you to hear my new birthday song." Karen says as she comes into the room creepily while singing.
"Wow! That is really lovely. So lovely in fact I just can't stand it! Bye!" Zee says as she pushes Karen outside the door as Alexis locks the door.
"Everyone must join The party too! Because if you don't I will find you!" Karen says as Alexis gives a worried look before stuffing a piece of paper into the key hole so Karen cannot get in through it.
"That took an ugly turn. What the... Aah!" Zee says as she and alexis see Jessica outside using her powers to make a happy birthday Zee sign.
"Zee do something. Now!" Alexis says worriedly as she looks at Zee.
"I'm trying. Oh there's gotta be a spell to undo this." Zee says as she tries to shout incantations with no luck before seeing Zee's father come into the room.
"Happy birthday!" Mr. Zatara shouts happily.
"You're under the spell too?" Zee asks as Alexis shifts to wolf form and gets in front of her growling.
"You were having so much fun with your friends... Wait did you say spell?" Mr. Zatara asks.
"I don't even know what happened! I got angry and carried away and now my friends are birthday zombies and it's all my fault!" Zee shouts in alarm as she cries before alexis nuzzles her in attempt to calm her.
"It's okay Zee. It was an accident. We can fix it... Somehow." Alexis says as Zee continues to cry.
"Shh. No need to cry. Seriously you're getting tears on the cake and I worked really hard on it." Mr. Zatara says.
"Dad this wouldn't have happened if I didn't insist on making such a big deal out of my stupid birthday!" Zee says sadly.
"Making a big deal out of birthdays maybe partially my fault. You don't remember?" Mr. Zatara asks.
"Remember what?" Alexis and Zee ask curiously before Mr. Zatara begins explaining Zee's excitement behind her birthday.
"That was the day Mom left." Zee says as the group hears the others shouting from outside.
"Hate to break up a touching family break through here but we still got company." Alexis says worriedly.
"Quick Dad what do we do?" Zee asks as she looks at her father.
"I'm afraid only you can fix this." Mr. Zatara says as he makes a box appear.
"I've seen this before." Zee says as she holds the box.
"Zee this is not how I wanted to tell you. But just as you inherited Light Magic from me you inherited Dark Magic from your mother." Mr. Zatara says.
"This was mom's?" Zee asks as Alexis looks at her.
"Yes. And unlike Light Magic the Dark Magic is filled by negative emotions." Mr. Zatara says.
"Like anger." Zee says.
"Which would explain how you did the spell by accident. You were angry at us and it came out through the spell." Alexis says.
"Birthday! Birthday!" The others shout from outside.
"We're out of time. You must find a way to undo this." Mr. Zatara says as the others break into the room before he momentarily stops them.
"I... I will!" Zee says determinedly as she and Alexis run out of the room.
