Back at Royal Woods
Vanzilla pulls up into the driveway of the Loud residence. One of the back passenger doors open and Lynn Loud Jr hops out of Vanzilla with an angry expression on her face. She walks to the front door while dragging a baseball bat on the ground and the rest of the Louds (except Lincoln) exit Vanzilla and follow Lynn with concern looks on their faces. The Royal Woods Squirrels ended up losing the championship and its safe to say that L.J wasn't taking it well. The Louds entered their home and Lynn Jr stormed upstairs to her and Lucy's room. When she enters her room, she puts on boxing gloves and begins punching her punching bag.
"She's literally taking that loss hard." said Lori.
"Well, it was the championship game, Lori." said Lynn Sr. "That game was very important to her."
"I don't get how she lost." said Luna. "Lincoln wasn't there. I didn't see him anywhere."
"And he definitely wasn't dressed in that squirrel mascot suit." said Lola.
"Oh yes, Lola. You had no problem finding that out for yourself." said Rita in a displeased tone.
(Flashback)
Lynn Jr was at home plate on her hands and knees while the opposing team was celebrating their victory. The rest of the Louds, except Lincoln, walked over to where Lynn is.
"Are you okay, L.J?" asked Lynn Sr.
"No." said Lynn bitterly.
"What happened? How could you have lost when Lincoln wasn't here with his bad luck?" asked Lori.
"How should I know?" replied Lynn bitterly. Lola looked around and saw the Royal Woods squirrel mascot walking away.
"I'll bet he's in that squirrel suit." said Lola. She ran over to the mascot and pounced on it from behind, knocking it to the ground. She rolled the mascot onto its back and pinned it to the ground by standing on its chest. She grabbed the mascot's head with both hands and glared at the mascot with the most enraged expression she ever had on her face. "YOU RUINED YOUR SISTER'S GAME WITH YOUR BAD LUCK, LINCOLN!" she yelled, ripping off the head of the mascot suit. Her enraged expression vanished when she saw it wasn't Lincoln, but a boy with light brown, curly hair and freckles. He was quivering with fear, his skin was pale, and sweat was pouring down his face. Lola looked over at the stands where people who saw what happened were looking at her with shocked expressions. She looked over at the dugout where some of the Royal Woods Squirrels were, also looking at Lola with shocked expressions on their faces. She chuckled nervously as she put the mascot head back on the boy, unaware she was putting it on backwards.
(End Flashback)
"Lola, next time you see that boy, I want you to apologize to him." said Rita. "He's probably at home right now changing into a clean pair of underwear."
"Yes, Mommy." replied Lola. Rita looks up as she hears Lynn Jr grunting while she was punching the punching bag.
"Everyone, I think we should all give L.J her space right now." said Rita.
"Okay, Mom. I'm gonna go to the mall and meet Jackie and Mandee there." said Leni.
"Have a good time, sweetie." said Rita.
"Sure, Mom." replied Leni. She grabs her purse and walks out the door. Half an hour later after taking a bus, Leni arrives at the Royal Woods Mall. She enters the mall and starts looking around for her friends, Jackie and Mandee. A few seconds later, she sees them waving at her.
"Hey, Leni." said Jackie.
"Hey, guys." said Leni, walking over to them. When she got close to them, they do their air kiss greeting.
"You ready for some shopping?" asked Jackie.
"I'm totes ready." replied Leni. She, along with Jackie and Mandee began walking.
"So, Leni. What have you been up to today?" asked Mandee.
"Me and my family went to my sister, Lynn's softball game today." replied Leni.
"Did her team win?" asked Jackie.
"No. Her team lost." replied Leni.
"Oh, that's too bad." said Mandee.
"Yeah, she's really taking it hard." said Leni.
"Well nobody wins all the time." said Jackie.
"Yeah. Take earlier today for example." said Mandee. "There was this raffle drawing going on outside the mall earlier today for a free trip someplace to join a fancy-looking academy. I don't recall where or what the name of the academy was; I kinda zoned out when I heard 'free trip'."
"Me too. When I heard 'free trip', I fantasized about relaxing on an exotic beach." said Jackie. "We got raffle tickets, but neither of us won the trip, but it's not the end of the world. Besides, I think the kid who did win needed it way more than we did anyway."
"Yeah, he was homeless." said Mandee with a forlorn expression on her face.
"Oh, that's so sad." replied Leni.
"Yeah, all he had was very little cash and the clothes on his back." said Jackie.
"What about the clothes he was wearing?" asked Leni. Jackie and Mandee rolled their eyes in response.
"But you know, that kid did look very familiar." said Jackie, scratching her head.
"I thought so too." said Mandee, tapping her chin. "I'm still trying to remember where I saw him before."
"I'm sure we'll remember. There can't be a lot of boys with white hair in Royal Woods." said Jackie.
"Like my little brother, Lincoln." said Leni. Jackie and Mandee both gasped.
"Now I remember." said Jackie, snapping her fingers. "From some of the photos you posted online of you and your family. That was your little brother we saw."
"Yeah." said Mandee. A confused expression appeared on her face. "Wait a minute. How can he be homeless? Doesn't he live with you and your family, Leni?"
"Oh, we kicked him out of the house." replied Leni. She heard Jackie and Mandee gasp. She turned to see them looking at her with shocked expreesions. "What?"
"I can't believe you! How can you do that to your own little brother!?" exclaimed Jackie.
"He was bad luck." replied Leni.
"What gave you and your family that stupid idea?" asked Mandee, angrily.
"Well, Lincoln was at one of Lynn's softball games this one time and she lost." explained Leni. "Lynn said she lost because Lincoln was bad luck."
"Your sister was probably just being a sore loser!" said Jackie. "I can't believe you and your family would kick a family member out into the street, especially a kid. I would never do anything like that to Sebastian, no matter what reason!"
"Come on, Jackie, let's go. I don't feel like shopping today, not with Leni at least." said Mandee. She and Jackie turned around and began walking away from Leni and towards the mall entrance.
"Wait you guys." said Leni. Mandee turned around and pointed at Leni.
"No! Don't talk to us. In fact, don't do anything with us anymore!" exclaimed Mandee.
"That's right! No way we want to be friends with someone like you!" said Jackie.
"FRIENDSHIP OVER!" exclaimed Jackie and Mandee in unison. They turned and exited the mall. Leni stood there and lowered her head in sadness. Outside the mall, Jackie and Mandee were standing outside. They look at each other and nodded, then took their smartphones out of their purses and began texting. Later at the Loud residence, the Louds, except Lori and Lisa, who were upstairs in their rooms, and Lincoln who was now on his way to the Paldea region, were in the living room, watching television. Lynn Jr had finally calmed down after almost a half hour of punching her punching bag. As they were watching television, a sad Leni walks in with mascara running down her face. The rest of the family, except Lori, Lisa, and Lincoln, notices this.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" asked Lynn Sr. "Couldn't find anything you wanted at the mall?"
"Worse. Jackie and Mandee ended their friendship with me!" cried Leni, covering her face with her hands and sobbed. Rita walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her.
"Settle down, Leni, settle down." said Rita in a calm tone. After a few seconds, Leni calmed down. "Are you okay now, Leni?"
"A little." replied Leni, sniffling.
"I don't understand. Why would your friends not want to be friends with you anymore?" asked Rita.
"I told them how we kicked Lincoln out of the house and they were upset about it." replied Leni.
"Well did you tell them about Lincoln being bad luck?" asked Lynn Sr. Leni nodded.
"Did you tell them about how Stinkoln caused me to lose a softball game with his bad luck?" asked Lynn Jr.
"Yes. Jackie thought you were just being a sore loser at that game Lincoln was at." replied Leni.
"What?! When I get my hands on her, I'm gonna..." said Lynn Jr before she was interrupted by Lori screaming from upstairs. Lori ran downstairs, looking at her smartphone with a panicked look on her face.
"Leni! Did you tell your friends about us kicking Lincoln out of the house?!" asked Lori.
"Yes, and they're not really friends with me anymore." replied Leni, sadly.
"What's wrong, Lori?" asked Lynn Sr.
"Jackie and Mandee posted what we did to Lincoln online and well, look!" replied Lori, handing her father her phone. He took the phone and the rest of the family gathered around him to read what was on the phone. On it was an online post about how Leni told Jackie and Mandee about how she and the rest of the Louds kicked Lincoln out into the street because they believed him to be bad luck. But what really got them worried were the angry comments below it.
"I don't get it. Why are people mad about what we did? The post mentioned that Lincoln was bad luck." said Luan.
"But you have to admit, kicking a kid out onto the streets with no food, water, money, or any way of getting those things doesn't sound like something other people would be cool with." admitted Luna.
"I'll admit that if I heard about a child being thrown out onto the streets like that, I wouldn't approve of it, either." said Rita. Just then, Lisa walks down the stairs with a disapproving look on her face.
"What's wrong with you, Lisa?" asked Lola.
"I was in my room, reviewing footage from my video surveillance system and I made some shocking discoveries." said Lisa.
"What kind of discoveries, sweetie?" asked Lynn Sr. Lisa turns towards Lynn Jr.
"Elder sister. When you said that Lincoln being at that game that you lost is what caused you to lose; you neglected to mention the fact that he only went to that game in the first place because you forced him to go." said Lisa with a glare. The other family members turned towards Lynn Jr and glared at her.
"Sweetie. You didn't mention that." said Rita with an angry look on her face. Lynn Jr started to look nervous.
"Oh, c'mon. I wasn't that forceful." said Lynn Jr.
"You threatened him with a baseball bat." said Lisa.
"YOU WHAT?!" yelled Rita. Lynn Jr was starting to tremble in fear of her enraged mother.
"Not cool, dudette. Seriously not cool." said Luna.
"If that's why Lincoln was at that game, then you literally deserved to lose." said Lori.
"I should also point out that those incidents that happened were because Lincoln really did set them up to make us think he was bad luck so he wouldn't have to go to any of our events." said Lisa, surprising everyone else.
"Oh, come on Lisa. He literally doesn't go to that many events." said Lori. Lisa pulls a small schedule book out of one of her back pants pockets.
"Really? After reading this schedule book, I saw that practically every free moment he had was spent going to our events. When he's at home, we always have him helping out with our stuff all the time; like helping Lola with her pageant training, being Luan's Funny Business assistant, Lynn's training/sparring partner, Lori's caddie at some of her games, etc. He barely has enough time to himself to just relax." said Lisa as she handed them the schedule book. They all look at it.
"Okay. This does seem like a lot to put on an eleven-year-old child." admitted Lynn Sr.
"We really messed up, big time." said Luna.
"Let's find Lincoln, apologize, and bring him back home. Maybe if he forgives us, people will stop being mad at us." said Lori.
"I just hope other people we know don't find out about this." said Rita. Unfortunately, after she said that, their phone rang. Lori looks at the caller ID, seeing her grandfather, Albert Cunningham's name on the display.
"Guys. It's Pop-Pop." said Lori. Rita picks up the phone.
"Hi, Dad." answered Rita.
"RITA! WHAT'S THIS POST THAT I'M READING RIGHT NOW THAT SAYS THAT YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY THREW YOUR OWN SON, MY GRANDSON, OUT ONTO THE STREETS WITH JUST THE CLOTHES ON HIS BACK AND VERY LITTLE MONEY?!" yelled Albert.
"He didn't have any money on him when we kicked him out." said Rita, immediately wishing she didn't mention that.
"YOU THREW HIM OUT WITH ONLY THE CLOTHES ON HIS BACK, YOUNG LADY?! HOW CAN YOU BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE LIKE THAT?!" replied Albert.
"But Junior said he was bad luck because his presence made her lose a softball game." Rita explained.
"JUST BECAUSE HE SUPPOSEDLY MADE HER LOSE JUST ONE GAME, HE'S BAD LUCK?! DID YOU EVEN CONSIDER THAT SHE WAS BEING A SORE LOSER WHO DIDN'T WANT TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSING?!" said Albert.
"I guess not." said Rita with a look of guilt on her face.
"FIND MY GRANDSON, APOLOGIZE TO HIM, BRING HIM BACK HOME, AND FORGET ABOUT ALL THAT LUCK GARBAGE!" said Albert before he hung up. With a shaking hand, Rita hangs up the phone. The rest of the family looked concerned.
"Was Pop-Pop mad?" asked Lana.
"He was furious. Then again, if I had a grandchild who was thrown out for a stupid reason like superstition, I'd be ticked off, too." said Rita.
"Everyone. Look for Lincoln and bring him home." said Lynn Sr. Leni looked a little nervous. Rita noticed this.
"Leni? Is there something else you forgot to mention?" asked Rita.
"Lincoln...may not be in Royal Woods anymore." said Leni.
"What do you mean he may not be in Royal Woods?!" replied Rita.
"You see; Jackie and Mandee mentioned that Lincoln won a trip to a foreign country to attend some sort of academy." said Leni.
"Well that proves he wasn't bad luck. If he was, he wouldn't have won." said Lori.
"So you're saying that Lincoln may not only not be in Royal Woods, he may not even be in the country?!" asked Lynn Sr.
"Let's not panic. Maybe Lincoln hasn't left yet. Let me check my tracker." said Lisa as she pulled a tracking device out of her pocket.
"Lisa. What's that?" asked Lynn Sr.
"A while back I put a tracking chip in Lincoln." said Lisa. The rest of the family stared at her.
"You said you only put tracking chips in Mom and Dad." said Lucy.
"You put tracking chips in us?" asked Rita.
"Is that what that itching sensation I usually feel on my face is?" asked Lynn Sr. Lisa looked nervous, but looked at her tracker, partly to avoid looking at her family's angry faces.
"Let me see. The short-range setting can't find him in town. Let me try long-range to see if he's at the airport." said Lisa as she adjusted the setting. As she looked, a distraught look appeared on her face.
"What is it, Lisa?" asked Lori.
"He's not at the airport, either. Which means...he may have already left the country." said Lisa. The rest of the family suddenly had stunned looks on their faces. Lori was looking at her phone with a look of fear on her face as more angry comments appeared below the post.
"What have I done?" asked Lynn Jr.

Author Note: Okay; don't expect a new chapter for a while until Pokemon Scarlet and Violet come out and we get into the games and learn more about them. Once we do, we'll make some more chapters.
