"Oh Kacchan." The soft sigh left Izuku's chest as he slowly dragged his feet through wet grass. He didn't pay attention to the mud caking his boots, didn't pay attention to everyone screaming at him not to move. His eyes only had one focus, mind only had one target. He had known something was off from the moment it had begun to rain, had known something had gone wrong from the moment he crossed the ocean and landed. There were no sounds of battle, no screams or shouts, no explosions. Before he had arrived, Izuku had worried about the rain. Kacchan always hated the rain and Izuku had hoped that it would stop soon. His hope had been extinguished the moment he felt the temperature sharply increase and he had pushed himself faster than he had before, only to land and see this. A sharp inhale buried itself in his chest, and then Izuku had begun his trek through the muddy grass. Gray clouds drifted drearily overhead and above him, it continued to rain.
Soft droplets splashed against his dirtied costume, plastering his hair to his face as he finally reached his destination and sunk to his knees. His eyes roamed over Bakugou's body, taking in the scorched side of his face, the look of his half lidded eyes, the blood on his mouth, the hole in his chest. Best Jeanist was next to him and he was saying something, whatever it was Izuku didn't hear. Taking great care he lowered himself to the ground and gently lifted Katsuki's head up, lowering it into his lap. With his thumb he wiped some of the blood away but much of it had already stained and dried. Katsuki looked peaceful. There was no smile on his face and his eyes stared forwardly vacantly as Izuku absently carded his hand through his hair. "Oh Kacchan." Izuku said for a second time, voice as numb as his feelings. He had always expected that he would fly into a rage if he came across a scene like this, but he couldn't even muster up a tear. Perhaps that was why it was raining, the rain was crying for him. "What did they do to you?" Thunder rolled through the sky and Izuku sat there until danger sense started blaring in his head, until Best Jeanist was shaking him and the sound of fighting became the first sound he was able to hear since sitting down.
"Midoriya you have to go!" Best Jeanist's voice filtered in and Izuku nodded robotically, gently lifting Katsuki's head and lowering it back to the ground. It was only then that he noticed the All Might card lying next to him, covered in blood. Izuku's feelings switched on then, not all of them, only rage. Green lightning sparked around Izuku as he turned around and dragged his boots through the muddy grass, tendrils of black slowly leaking from his body as he approached Shigaraki.
Above him, it continued to rain.
