Also, story starts off dark. It gets lighter after the first chapter. I'm posting the first 2 or 3 chapters at the same time to get some interest.

"Dattebayo!" - Verbal talking.

'I sound dumb.' – Thinking & talking to Biju.

'You do kit.' - Biju talking.

'That kit is crazy.' - Biju personal thinking.

'-uto?'

'Naruto?'

'NARUTO!"

Deep cerulean eyes blinked open, closing an instant later feeling the sunlight through the shades of the window. Knowing he probably had to get up, Naruto finally reopened his eyes, and then realized.

'Is this... my apartment?'

Naruto bolted straight up, his senses going crazy. He realized he was in the room of his old apartment. Was this the afterlife? Was he just going to live the rest of his death in his lonely apartment as punishment for failing Konoha?

'I'm pretty sure it's not, kit.'

'Kurama? How are you here? Are you dead too?'

'Well neither of us are dead, actually. I'm not sure quite how it's possible, but I think you got your final wish.'

'Are you sure? How could we be in the past?'

'Because, you're in your 11 year old body. There were a few changes that I suppose need explaining.'

'Changes?'

And that's when Naruto finally looked down. And he noticed something out of place. Very, out of place.

'Kurama, did I get fat or are these-?'

'Yes kit, those are breasts.'

'WHAT!'

It was then that Naruto started to panic. How could they be breasts? If these are breasts, then does that mean?

And then he looked into his pants. He saw something he never thought he would see in his life or his death.

'Kurama, where is Little Naruto?'

'As funny as that name is kit, you should've already figured this out. When we traveled back to this time, you became female.'

'This is not something I expected. How am I supposed to explain this to granny?'

'You don't have to. Tsunade isn't the hokage yet, remember? You're 11 years old now, so you have to explain this to that Old Man, Sarutobi.'

'Oh dear lord. I wonder if I've always been a girl in this time, or if it's just a swap? Let me check my wardrobe.'

Naruto got up out of bed and checked her wardrobe. She opened it and saw her normal male orange jumpsuits. She wasn't always a girl in this time? That makes things a lot harder.

'Furball, what kind of lie am I going to have to come up with for this?'

'Do me a favor and look at your seal for a moment.'

Naruto did as asked. She pulled up her shirt and noticed something about the sealing matrix of the Hakke Fuin on her stomach. It was missing a few kanji.

'That's exactly what I was hoping for kit. We have to come up with an elaborate lie, so this is exactly what you're going to tell the geezer...'

As Naruto walked to the hokage office, dressed in her old orange jumpsuit from when she was a he, she could only think that this was insane. Lying to the old man? Sure she had done it plenty of times before, but this was the biggest lie that might have ever been told in history! She didn't know if she could do this, but she had to try.

When she finally got to the hokage office, she had to get through that stupid secretary. The secretary still recognized her. If only she had some girl clothes to be unrecognizable!

She had to walk past the secretary, who after a long tongue lashing was weakly protesting, could do nothing. And so, she took a long and deep breath, and walked into the office.

-Line Break-

"Good morning, jiji." Naruto said, surprisingly calm. The old hokage noticed this, but thought nothing of it.

"Good morning Naruto, how are you my boy?" The aging hokage noticed the look on Naruto's face when he said those last 2 words, getting a little suspicious.

"Old man, I have a few... complicated things to talk to you about. I know you have those weird masked guys in here, could you tell them to leave?" Naruto asked, hiding the fact that she knew they were called ANBU.

Now the hokage was getting suspicious. When had Naruto ever been so formal? He trusted Naruto anyways, and what could an 11 year old do if he's deciding to be treasonous anyway? The old hokage calmly stated, "Alright Naruto, I can dismiss my guards." With the wave of a hand, there was a flash of grey and white and the door waved open and closed.

"Old man, I'm going to be forward with you. I know about the Kyuubi." Naruto calmly stated, noticing the shocked and guilty look on the old man's face.

These words effected the old man more than he thought they would.

The mind of the aging hokage was spinning. How did he find out? Who told him? Was he getting beat up by a drunk who told him? What happened? So he decided to ask. "Naruto, how did you find out about the Kyuubi?"

Naruto was almost surprised by this question. He had expected the old man to rant about how he wasn't a monster, how Naruto wasn't the Kyuubi incarnated. But this question was near unexpected. He remembered the lie that Kurama came up with and decided to go with that.

"Well old man, I decided to take up meditating and reading. I read about the demons, and noticed a flaw in the story told about the Kyuubi."

"And what would that be?" Sarutobi questioned.

"The fact that it is said that the Kyuubi died. The Kyuubi is a being of pure chakra, so it cannot be killed. I started to put the pieces together from there. If the Kyuubi isn't dead, then why doesn't it have a body? I noticed that I usually get called a demon a lot, a monster, and even a fox brat. I figured it out at that point, but didn't want it to be true." Naruto explained, taking a deep breath and continuing.

"I forgot about it for a little while when I took up meditating. I believe it was the third time I had ever meditated, and I got pulled into my mind and met the Kyuubi." Naruto finally finished explaining.

The old man was stunned. Reading and meditating? That usually wasn't something Naruto would do, but this is the most unpredictable man in the village, so who knows? "I apologize for not telling you about the Kyuubi earlier Naruto. I didn't think you were ready for it." The old hokage said.

"That's fine old man, but there is more to this story that I need to tell you." Naruto nervously said, looking a little red.

"Oh, and what might that be?"

"Well, when I did figure out about the Kyuubi, I accidentally used a bit of its chakra and-" Naruto got interrupted.

"YOU DID WHAT!" Sarutobi shouted, vibrating the windows in the office.

Naruto took a breath and stated, "Old man, you need to calm down and let me finish. I wasn't done."

Sarutobi sighed. This might just be worse than the paperwork.

"Fine, continue."

Naruto took a breath and kept explaining. "When I used that bit of chakra, something happened that I never thought possible, but I have a working theory on it. When I used that bit of chakra, I sort of turned into a woman."

The old man choked on his own spit. He- no she did what? "Naruto, how is this even possible?"

"Well old man, I noticed that what I like to call 'Little Naruto' was gone and that I had breasts. My hair grew a lot too. Now, would you like to hear my working theory?" Naruto calmly asked.

"I don't want to, I need to my bo- I mean my girl?" Sarutobi tripped up on his words.

Naruto remembered what he had seen and continued on with the lie. "Well old man, before I met the Kyuubi, I saw these markings on my stomach. If the Kyuubi is in me, than this is probably the seal. But when I turned into a girl, I noticed that a few of the kanji were missing. Since Lord Fourth was the one to seal the Kyuubi into me, I have to assume that he knew I would get beat up for being the 'Kyuubi reincarneted', and sealed my gender to keep people from going too far." Naruto was somewhat proud of this explaination, and it made sense since the seal had changed recently.

Hiruzen was genuinely surprised at all this. Naruto said something that actually made sense, and it was related to the sealing arts? "Well Naruto, I need to check your seal to make sure of this. Would you raise your shirt and channel chakra?"

So Naruto did just that, and what was seen shocked the old hokage to the core. Naruto was completely right. There were a decent amount of kanji on the Hakke Fuin that were just... missing. Gone without a trace.

"Naruto, it seems your working theory was sound. I don't know if it's safe for you to be living alone or going out on the streets anymore though." Sarutobi stated with worry in his voice.

"I figured that too old man. Where should I live? I wouldn't trust the orphanage on my life, and I highly doubt that you would be able to take me in." Naruto stated, slightly sad at the last part.

"Well Naruto, do you have any friends that you can trust staying with?" Sarutobi asked.

Naruto had to really think about this question. Kiba was out of the picture, he and most of the men in his family were too massive of perverts. She didn't hate shino, but bugs weren't her thing. Hinata's family was too formal, and probably wouldn't accept her anyway. There was no way in hell she would live with Sasuke or Sakura. That left the Ino-Shika-Cho to choose from. Ino was a Sasuke fangirl, and she was extremely pampered. She probably couldn't learn from them if she had to stay home. Choji ate all the time. Sure he was nice, but she couldn't see herself there. That left Shikamaru and his family. His dad was almost as lazy as him, but had a decent amount of information for her to learn. She could get better at tactics with Shogi, learn about the female problems she now had to deal with from Yoshino, and Shikamaru, while lazy, was a good friend.

"I think out of my friends, Shikamaru and his family would be the best choice." Naruto said.

"Why is that, Naruto-chan?" the hokage asked.

Naruto went on to explain her thoughts on the matter, and how while Shikamaru might not be the very best option, it was the best option right now.

The hokage sighed. This was going to be a lot of paperwork.

"Well Naruto-chan, we're going to need to hide this. Not that you're living with the Nara family, but the gender change. If we don't, I shiver thinking about what the council would do to you." The aging hokage breathed.

Naruto could only agree with this. That damn council would turn her into breeding stock at the first chance they got. "Well, to keep this a secret, I can't really go to the academy. I still want to be a shinob- I mean kunoichi, so what is to be done?"

"Well Naruto-chan, I'll be getting you a private instructor. When you're not working with them, you'll be studying and doing the academy work that normally gets sent home." Sarutobi explained.

Naruto sighed. This was going to be a long 2 years.

"That works, old man. Who is this instructor going to be?" Naruto asked.

Sarutobi answered with a question. "That depends, what shinobi art are you the most interested in?"

Naruto had to think about this for a bit. She hadn't learned much in the shinobi arts from her original life, relying on terrible Taijutsu, the Rasengan, the Rasenshuriken, and Kurama's chakra. What did she want to learn?

After some thought, Naruto finally answered. "Well old man, I know because of the Kyuubi I have large reserves for Ninjutsu, but I've always been interested in Kenjutsu. The academy teachers also botched my Taijutsu but I think I can fix that when I get a genin sensei."

"Kenjutsu, huh? Interesting choice, I didn't think you would go for that. What makes you so interested?" Sarutobi asked.

Naruto gulped. She was mostly interested because of her wind element, but she had to make up a lie for that too. She didn't even know if she did have wind element anymore. "Well old man, I stole a little paper from a jonin I was running from once. I accidentally channeled chakra into it and it split in half, then the left side crumpled and the right burst into flames. When I took up my reading, I realized that this was chakra paper and that I had 3 elements, those being wind, fire, and lightning. I figure that since wind is the best for kenjutsu and I have 3 powerful Ninjutsu elements, I should take advantage of that. Not only is Wind strong for enhancing a sword, but Lightning could theoretically be used to speed myself up, like a mini lightning armor like the Raikage."

For the millionth time today, Sarutobi Hiruzen was absolutely dumbstruck by Uzumaki Naruto. Naruto just displayed a Chunin, maybe even a Jonin level understanding of the elements, the knowledge of having 3 different elemental affinities, and extremely sound logic. This could be a child prodigy among the likes of Kakashi and Itachi!

"Naruto-chan, that is a very surprising revelation. Originally I was going to just put you under 1 instructor, but because of not only the elements you have, but also the understanding that you have shown, I'm going to assign my son, Sarutobi Asuma to you first for wind training. You shouldn't need much training in the other elements for now, since you're still an academy student, but wind can be very powerful and we need to take advantage of your most powerful affinity. I am also going to assign you Gekko Hayate. Hayate-san is extremely good at Kenjutsu, only bested by his girlfriend, and one of my best ANBU, Uzuki Yugao. Hayate is also well versed in fire ninjutsu so you should be able to learn some elemental ninjutsu from him as well." The old man finally finished explaining, taking a long puff from his pipe.

"That begs the question, where will I be training old man?" Naruto questioned. Surely it would be unsafe to train in the Nara compound.

"I'm going to allocate a private ANBU training field for you. There is one near the Nara compound that doesn't get used very often, training ground 17." Sarutobi explained.

"That should work out well, I suppose now you will need to call the Shikaku, Yoshino, and Shikamaru to the office?"

"That I will have to do. You'll also have to get some new clothes Naruto-chan, that jumpsuit won't do, especially not for an aspiring kunoichi to wear."

Timeskip – 20 Minutes

Shikaku Nara, Yoshino Nara and Shikamaru Nara were walking up the stairs to the Hokage office. Shikaku didn't think anything of the summon for him, but was wondering what was so important that his wife and child had to be here.

'This meeting will be troublesome' Both pineapple headed Nara's thought at the same time.

"So, thinking of how troublesome this will be?" asked Yoshino in a slightly irritated tone.

"What else would we be thinking about?" asked Shikamaru, sounding bored out of his mind.

"Clouds." replied Yoshino dryly.

When they finally got to the door of the office, Shikaku opened the door. What he saw was rather confusing. The hokage, sitting at his desk and smoking his pipe was normal. What wasn't normal was a blond teenage woman with a very recognizable orange jumpsuit. Shikaku would have thought it was Naruto if the girl had whiskers, but she didn't.

'How did Naruto manage to get a fangirl?' were the thoughts of Shikaku and Shikamaru.

The hokage spoke, and everything went to hell. "Hello Shikaku-kun, Yoshino-san, Shikamaru-san. How have you all been?"

"Good, Hokage-sama. May I ask why we have all been summoned here, and who the blond haired teen is here?" asked Shikaku.

"Believe it or not, the blond haired teen is Uzumaki Naruto."

'WHAT!' was the unanimous thoughts of the Nara trio.

"Hokage-sama, I would like to know her actual name." Shikaku questioned with a deadpan look.

"..."

"You... were serious?" Shikaku asked.

"Dead serious, Shikaku. For the information of Shikamaru, what is about to be said is an SS ranked secret and if you tell anyone about this, you and the person you tell will be executed immediately. This goes for you 2 as well Shikaku, Yoshino. Am I understood?" The aging hokage said sternly.

Shikaku truly didn't know what to make of the situation, but he had a slight idea of what happened. Yoshino and Shikamaru were completely confused though. "Yes Hokage-sama, we understand." Said Shikaku with as much conviction as a lazy Nara could have.

"Well to explain the situation, I first have to ask a question. What do you know of the nine tails attack?..."

After the full explaination was told, the Nara trio was shocked to their core. Naruto was a girl! The seal had broken and had changed him permanently? And for Shikamaru, Naruto had the nine tails in him? This was all quite a bit to take in, but that she'd be living with them?

Yoshino was the first on to break the rather uncomfortable silence that had settled into the room. "Well Naruto-chan, I'll help you adapt to being a woman as much as I can. It probably won't be the most comfortable thing at first, but I'll do my best!" Yoshino said with spunk.

Naruto, on one hand, was quite relieved at this. She could trust the people she would move in with, that much was confirmed by Yoshino. On the other hand, she was ecstatic. She was going to have a family! Even if it was temporary, this had to be the best thing that happened to her.

"Thank you Yoshino-san, I'll try not to be too terribly behaved." Naruto said with a somewhat shy but foxy smile.

"Come on Naruto-chan, while living with us you can just call me Kaa-chan. There is no way in hell I'm letting you call me Yoshino." Yoshino said with some pride and a little scolding.

Naruto was starting to get a little teary eyed. The only time she had ever met her mother was in her mind, so getting to call someone that isn't technically her mother 'Kaa-chan' felt weird, but great at the same time.

Naruto did the only thing she could think of and looked away to hide her tears. "T-thanks K-kaa-chan-n" she muttered, her voice breaking a little.

Hiruzen, Shikaku and Yoshino felt their hearts crack a little at this response. What the hell has this kid been through? Shikamaru started to feel a little uncomfortable with the situation so went over to the window and started cloud watching.

Yoshino however decided to sit on the couch next to Naruto and hug her. The dam broke at that. Racking sobs filled the room as Naruto cried into Yoshino's chest. For the next five minutes, Shikaku and Shikamaru were cloud watching while the old hokage started back up on paperwork. Yoshino whispered comforting words into Naruto's ear, only proving her to sob harder. The sobs eventually turned into sleepy purrs, and Naruto fell asleep on Yoshino.

While Naruto was asleep, Sarutobi and Shikaku discussed the training arrangements for Naruto. They both agreed on everything that had been previously mentioned.

"Lucky brat, falling asleep on my wife." Shikaku muttered, a little jealous of Naruto. This got snickers out of Sarutobi and Shikamaru.

After about 30 minutes, Naruto woke up feeling warm and fuzzy. She tried to open her eyes only to shut them promptly after rays of sun hit her eyes. She moved her head, only to feel something soft and warm under it. "Mmmmmm soft" she muttered quietly, and snuggled into it, eliciting an small giggle from Yoshino and a perverted one from the old hokage.

Naruto opened her eyes again only to see fabric. She looked up and saw Yoshino softly smiling at her, and realized what was happening. Almost as fast as the Hiraishin, she was sitting on the other side of the couch, entire face redder than a tomato.

After that situation was sorted out, Asuma and Hayate were summoned to the office. The situation was explained with every detail to them as well, including the SS ranked secret. They agreed to train her to the best of their abilities. "I'm warning you, I won't go easy. I will train you into the ground, Naruto." Asuma said, Hayate nodding from behind him.

"That's the only way I want it, dattebayo!" Naruto said enthusiastically, eliciting a chuckle out of Asuma and a cough out of Hayate.

That sentence would feel like a mistake in the future.
