By dinnertime everyone was in the Bartowski apartment.
After the seven humans ate their food Ellie spoke. "Chuck, did you want to start the Q&A ?"
"Sure thing." Chuck said
"As you have figured out we are not human, we are actually vampires but none of the myths are technically true." Ellie said
"Garlic, churches, wooden stakes, holy water do not harm us. We also do not burn in sunlight but we can't be seen in it without our family crest. Which has a protective nanite coating preventing the sun. From revealing our true forms." Devon said
"What happens without wearing your protective crest ?" Bryce asked
"We sparkle because we are like living marble except we are as hard as diamonds. Every cell in our bodies is crystalline in nature, our hearts don't beat and we do not have body heat. We never leave any trace of DNA, no fingerprints, no hair follicles, nothing." Chuck said "We have greatly enhanced senses, speed, strength. And have perfect memory we are practically indestructible."
"I assume there is a way to become like you then." Carina said
"Vampires are venomous, our venom is what changes humans and as such. Our teeth appear human-like but they are just as strong and durable as we are." Ellie said
"The change itself lasts three days; typically it depends on how close to the heart the bite is. It is also the most excruciatingly painful experience one can ever endure. It is like a snake made of lava slithering slowly through every single bone, vein, artery and nerve in your body." Devon said
"Vampires who are a year old or less are referred to as newborns. This is because after the change you wake up with little to no memory of your human life. You have crimson red eyes and you are much stronger than older vampires. This is because your body will be leeching off every last bit of human blood in your body. You will be incredibly instinctual as a newborn. And as such you will only care about the three F's, Fighting, Feeding and Fucking. Newborn vampires are known to mostly crave lust and bloodlust. The person who turns you is your sire and sometimes your mate. Your sire is responsible for teaching you vampire laws and how to hunt to sustain yourself." Chuck said
"Make no mistake, even with newborn speed and strength you will not. Win a fight with an older vampire who is much more experienced in fighting our kind." Devon said
"Some vampires but not all may have special abilities that others may not. Like humans no vampire is the same as another there is always a difference. You might have a special ability but it will not. Be exactly the same as others, it will have variation between them." Ellie explained
"You said newborns have red eyes because of human blood still in them. Does that mean vampires who feed on humans also have red eyes ?" Sarah asked
"Yes." Chuck replied
"Why do you three have golden topaz eyes then ?" Daniel asked
"We do not drink human blood, we live off animal blood, it's not as filling or as inviting of a scent. But it lets us walk among humans easier because, contact lenses. Dissolve after a few hours and inhibit our sight." Chuck answered
"Considering you are letting us in on your secret. I'm guessing you'll need to rectify the current predicament." Bryce said
"Yes but we can give you at least six months to decide." Chuck said
"I feel correct in assuming that we have two options: be turned or die." Sarah said
"Yes." Devon said
"You mentioned special abilities, what types of special abilities are there ?" Bryce asked
"A large percentage of them are mental and based around the mind. Mind reading, pathokinesis in the sense of feeling and altering emotions. Tracking sense, pain illusion, sensory deprivation, enhanced self preservation and several more." Devon said
"Chuck, you should probably head to Volterra to ensure they are aware." Ellie said
"I will go do that now." Chuck said, blurring out of the apartment.
He then got in his car a black 2010 Cadillac CTS and raced to the airport he arrived nearly twelve minutes later.
