Author note: I was bored and had a story I wanted to share.

My grammar is practically non-exist yet I felt the need to share this disgusting tale!

So this is my first time I'm actually writing ANY fan fiction so any advice would be appreciated!

Btw, this is based on the Warhammer 40k universe before the fall of the DAOT so any information that would help is welcome!

In the distant past…

Around the 22 millennia in the dark corner of the universe

A bright red planet orbiting near a yellow sun

Underneath the red surface, lies a great laboratory of science and technology.

Various experiments involving technology, machines, etc. were performed here to advance technology. AI, humans, and other species worked together with the sole goal of advancing science unchained by morals or ethics.

From this lab lies a certain "human"... practically dying from paperwork and other things…

Yes, this is the story of…

In a certain workshop filled with various machines. Various tools, a large amount of paperwork, blueprints, etc. scatter on a desk. The desk was stained with coffee and various nutrients. Underneath a large number of objects lies a silhouette of a man whose eyes are bloodshot from the lack of sleep and various other stimuli.

A blue eye silhouette emerges from the shadow of the dark workshop, "Master Tempious, You have been awake for over [34] hours. You need to rest" said in a cold mechanical voice.

The man who was buried in the piles of objects called Tempious replied, "Can't do that right now Alpha, I need to fix the problem with the flux compactor on the mass quantum generator so it would properly complete the 3rd cycle instead of collapsing on itself". The man reached for his cup of coffee only to realize that he ran out.

He sighs, "Alpha temporarily suspends all projects until I return" in an exhausted tone. "Also stop calling me Master"

"Understood, Suspending all task at hand also no sir" replied Alpha

Tempious sighs as he moves from his desk to get another cup of coffee and other materials as well. A large knock could be heard from his workshop door.

He sighed as he replied to the knocking with a rather rude and frustrated tone, "You have 3 minutes to explain why you are knocking on the door before I called security"

The knocking had ceased and a voice replied in a rather nervous and frightened voice, "uh… Master Engineer, Tempious Maxious, you are uh… required for a shipment from a benefactor" The voice gulped deeply.

Tempious sighed as he replied, "I'll be there in a minute" However before he could go to the door "Wait, you never mention who was the benefactor?"

The voice replied, "It was a gift from the uh… Eldar sir"

Tempious slowly said in a raging voice, "FROM THE FUCKING WHAT" as Tempious quickly approached the door.

He hurrying force it open to reveal a young lady trembling in fear with a tear in her eye

Tempious ignored the fear of the young lady as he pressed for questions as he grasp her in his hands

"WHY ARE THE FUCKING KNIFE EARS GIVE US SOMETHING THEY DON'T DO THAT" Tempious roared and shoke the poor lady as she tries to explain.

The poor girl replied in a very afraid voice with tears in her eyes, "T-they said it was a gift from them, a piece of uh rather unknown technology that they didn't want to deal with and that we uh could make use of it?

Tempious look at the girl with rather frustrated eyes or perhaps fury? It was unknown what emotion he could be feeling but the only thing that was on his mind was the supposed gift from the Eldar.

He quickly rushed to the hangar as several crew members recognize him and began to stop all activity before formally greeting him.

"We great the Master Engineer of the Adept Techno Mechanicals from the Science Sector" as several members of the hangar bowed in respect for him

"I have no time for formalities nor the patience to deal with this. Where is the package delivered from those... Damn Eldar" Tempious restrained his rage towards the Eldar as he demanded to view the package.

"Over here, nearby the terminal" one of them as they point out the large metal package

A large metal crate covered with various things used by the Eldar to contain things. It contains markings that read in the Eldar tongue, "Dangerous & Unsafe".

"Open the crate and step back immediately" ordered Tempious as several members began to unlock the crate as it opened with a hiss. Revealing a large structure within. The structure was massive as it was filled with various runes and unknown symbols and languages unrecognizable to even the oldest members.

Tempious gazed into the package as it pulsed with power and green light as he replied, "This is strange, I do not recall any knowledge of this material nor do I recognize the technology as this doesn't fit any known civilization" Tempios observe the material, "It feels as if it was alive"

Tempious touch the material, "It feels smooth and sort of liquid-y? As if it can be molded and reshaped by the wielder yet strangely solid"

Tempious observe the strange structure with seriousness as its pulse with energy. "Set up a secure building and perimeter to house the structure, however, be careful, we don't know what we are dealing with yet" Tempious commands in a rather serious voice. "AI, Be on high alert and limit all communication to the outside"

Various mechanical voices in different tones replied, "Yes, Creator" as Tempious replied, "I told you to stop calling me creator" Tempious sighed with frustration.

He pulls out his comms to radio the entire lab as his eyes are glued to the strange structure with various machines being used to transport it to a different location.

"Attention! This is Master Engineer Tempious, We have an unknown object of unidentified origin. Until we determine if the structure is hostile or has been built with hostile intention. There shall be no more communication with the outside unless there is an emergency" Tempious explained to all of the crew.

Tempious noticed some of the crew are a bit confused and worried which he replied, "Get back to work people. We don't have a clue on what we are dealing with and that is why the big scary glowing box is going to storage until we can properly deal with it"

Tempious began to return to his quarters as the various crew began to continue work again. On the way back, he was greeted by various AI units on their way to be shipped to the outside.

Tempious began to return to his workshop only to realize his rather lack of coffee has left him… rather tired.

Tempious collapsed face first on his floor as he should with 34 hours of sleep deprivation.

Alpha replied to his now unconscious master, "I did warn you of this outcome"

Several Months Later…

In a laboratory in the underground of the red planet, various wires and scanners are attached to the unknown structure. As various and numerous experiments are being performed on it.

Various tests had indicated that it was unknown to the galaxy at large being nigh indestructible due to being completely capable of repairing any damage to the structure. It has been known to grow resistant to certain types of damage over time though it would quickly lose said resistance should it be exposed to another form of damage. It has been showcased to be capable of surviving most forms of weaponry though a particular weakness against weapons that involve the transfer of energy and matter.

It had a strange effect on metal and organic materials should it be sufficiently damaged to which it wouldn't be able to regenerate which would rapidly transform any materials in the nearby area into the structure quickly regain any lost materials.

The green energy that is being pulsed from the structure has been documented to be coming from inside the structure. It has been showcased to be a near-limitless form of energy. Unfortunately, any further research has been halted due to the unknown nature of the structure.

Master Engineer Tempious has been working with various top field researchers to discover which civilization this relic belongs to. From what can be gathered it is one of the older generations of civilization having the same origin as the Eldar though any further information proves to be fruitless as most Eldar refuse to acknowledge the civilization.

AI has been displaying strange behavior particularly aggressive and hostile when in the vacancy of the object however quickly moving them to a different area would quickly resolve said issue.

Currently, The object in question is being privately researched by Tempious to figure out how the structure works. It has been around 20 hours since any information has been provided. This has been recorded to be typical though should it past 24 hours a standard lockdown of the building will immediately activate.

All weapons that are not for active experimentation should be immediately evacuated if not in proper use. Failure to do so will result in a write-up or termination depending on the severity of the issue.

Currently...

In a room filled with monitors displaying different types of information as well as a crystal clear image of the object. A Tempious on a chair sipping coffee as he documents any significant changes to the object.

"Hmm… This is strange, there is a spike of energy during 12 - 13 hours, however during the 14 all actively strangely cease going back to its dormant state" Tempious documented as he sips his coffee.

"If this is correct, then there was something that has happened during the 12 - 13 hours however there was no activity schedule for that timeframe therefore something must have happened from within the structure" Tempious began to record this occurrence as this has happened 5 to 6 times a week though.

A bright blue eye icon appears from behind Tempious

"Master Tempious, You have been offline for about 20 hours if you failed to report any activity after 24 hours. This building will be forced to be under lockdown." Alpha said with a monotone voice.

"I got it Alpha, Just document any significant changes. I'll report my findings at 22, however, was there any incident or occurrence during 12 - 13 hours?" Tempious said as he began to write down his daily log.

"There was no incident involving any on-site throughout 12 - 13 hours however there was a minor incident where AI had to be escorted from the building as they were displaying unusual behavior," Alpha reported dutifully

Tempious replied, "Great job, You can return to the main building. Oh before you go, inform Beta, Gamma, and Sigma that their mechanical bodies have been successfully repaired and should be ready for use later after I finetune them after I return".

It was another peaceful day in the laboratory. Well, it should have been but unfortunately, fate tends to work the other way. As the structure lay dormant, It was only a matter of time. I wonder…

Will it be like the last time?
