SECRETLY UNMAGICIFIED
A/N: I will probably have the second chapter rewritten/ updated in the future. It'll be only some dialogues and not affect the storyline, but I will notify you, readers, when I update it.
Thanks for reading. Please write reviews on my chapters so I can improve the story further.
Ah, about Ben Slime and Ben Tanya. They won't happen xD. I also have plans for Rimuru Tempest and Tanya in another fanfic Ben 10 X Anime: Kamen Rider Omni-X. But if I did finish The Unidentified Lifeform and Ben 10 X Arifureta, I have a plan to write Ben 10 X Invincible (or) The Boys (because there are almost no fanfics in those crossover categories.) Ben 10 X Danmachi has been requested quite a few times but I am not a fan of Danmachi so sadly, I can't pick up that series.

CHAPTER 3: GRADUATION
"Ben?"
"Yeah?" I answered.
"What do you want to become in the future?"
She asked me a silly question. I awkwardly smiled and stretched the back of my head.
"I think… I want to study medical science."
And a 16-year-old me responded with the silliest answer possible. She quietly giggled at me.
"... Why?"
"... They say… Scientists earn a lot of money."
I lied. I wasn't interested in any bullshit like science before. It was the least of my concerns whereas now it had become the opposite— I wanted to learn medicine so badly.
"Glad to see you are a doofus as always."
"Yep…"
I placed the apple slices on the plate and handed it to her who was sitting in a hospital bed.
"Ben… you've got eye bags. Are you tired… or did you—"
"Uh, no, I stayed up late last night to play Sumo Slammers."
I lied again. I suddenly had an urge to study hard… That's all but she doesn't need to know it. If she knew it, she would probably make fun of me.
"Lame, don't stay up late, doofus. Growing boys—" she started a lecture, so…
"Yep, I know, I know. Just focus on your own recovery. Don't worry about me."
She stabbed a slice of apple with a small fork and stuffed it into her mouth. I got up from the seat and grabbed my jacket that was hung on a hanger hook on the wall.
"Then I am leaving. Bye."
"Um, thanks for visiting me."
I exited the room and carefully closed the door. Then… I felt like I was going to faint. Shit. Another day of suffering… I never felt as helpless and powerless before.
Sometimes… Things just don't go your way.
"Ben."
I looked up and saw the one who called my name— he was a man in his early 60s wearing a red Hawaiian shirt with a floral design.
"Grandpa."
"Thanks for visiting her."
"This is the least I can do," I shook my head. "Please excuse me."
"Wait… I have something to tell you."
"I'm leaving—"
"Good news. Trust me."
A year ago. She was diagnosed with a weird disease that depleted her cells. But weirdly, the cell corruption rate was about the same as the cell healing rate— but it hindered the cell regeneration process, causing her to be seriously ill from the effects.
Grandpa Max took me to the rooftop.
"I found a cure for her illness," he calmly said with a serious face as he looked at the sunset.
"Would it really work?"
I was glad to hear about it but… even doctors didn't even figure out what was causing the serious cell corruption. Some theorized she must be exposed to toxic radiation but it wasn't the case either.
This was why… I wished to find out the cause by myself.
"75% sure. But I will have to take her somewhere else."
I didn't reply. But 75 was a big number for me… I felt like a flame of hope had been lit.
"Thanks, Grandpa," I whispered.
I didn't visit her at the hospital for the next few months. I heard her birthday was drawing nearer… Maybe I should visit her again soon enough.
"You have to visit Friedkin Medical University while we are at it?"
I widened my eyes at my teacher, unable to believe what she said.
"… really?!"
"I like your passion for the subject. I know a professor there and they will have an open campus event next month. Take this opportunity and pay them a visit."
"Thanks…"
It was such a great opportunity.
"What? You are not coming with me?"
She phoned me to invite me on a shopping trip. But I was on the Friedkin campus when she called me.
"Ah, sorry. I… am a little busy."
"Okay, okay. I understand."
"I will come to your party… so…"
"Got it, got it."
Only after she had hung up could I breathe out a sigh. I looked up at the school building. I came here because I promised my teacher but…
She was already getting better, thanks to Grandpa Max. I didn't know who or what cured her, but I was glad that she recovered from her long-term illness. So she didn't need my help anymore.
I let out a quiet laugh. Now I should just mind my own business. I turned off the power of my phone and slid it into my backpack.
On the way back, I saw that news on TV.
"… the victim was a 15-year-old female…"
It was about a murder.
Hmm… it's almost dusk. I better get back home. I yawned and pulled a water bottle out of my backpack. Then I took a sip of water and glanced at my wristwatch. It was ten past five already.
I got carried away and wasted some time at the university. I was worn out… Maybe I am actually interested in medical science…
I slid the bottle into my backpack— and noticed I hadn't turned on my phone yet. I dropped myself onto a bench on the sidewalk and powered on my smartphone.
"Hmm… too many missed calls?"
It got me worried. Most missed calls were from my mom, two from my dad, and one from Grandpa Max. I wonder what happened—
I decided to give Grandpa Max a call.
"... Hello, I just saw—"
"Ben… got bad news."
"Huh?"
"... she's…"
ARGGHHH.
Where am I? Oh, I am… in my room. I sat up in my bed, wondering if I screamed. Tch, I thought I locked away all those memories… I gently wiped my tears with my sleeves. My room was lit by the moonlight that fell through the window next to my bed.
And the door opened. Coming through the door were my parents and Miss Roxy.
My parents were loosely dressed but their faces showed worries for me. Miss Roxy rubbed her eyes before looking at me.
"What happened, son?" Father asked.
"A nightmare?" Mother said.
"No, boys shouldn't be afraid of nightmares!" Father replied.
"Then it must have been very scary if our boy had screamed at!" The mother phrased it in a weird way.
"You're right," Father agreed with that nonsense.
Roxy deadpanned at Paul and Zenith. She ignored them and walked closer to my bed.
"Was it scary, Matty?"
"It was," I quietly answered. They weren't technically wrong. It was a nightmarish experience for me after all.
Her death…
"Could you please leave me alone?" I said without hesitation, out of my childish character.
My parents were confused but they left the room. Roxy, however, gave me a smile that supposedly meant I had learned from her lecture. True, I have always been ignoring who I was then to accept who I am now.
She headed toward the exit—
"Roxy…" I stopped her. "Can you… stay?"
Paul and Zenith looked at each other, then Paul shrugged at Zenith and dragged her out of the room before slamming the door close.
"So let me guess: you dreamt of your past?"
"Can't be more right," I said, leaning back against my pillows. "I dreamt of her death."
The atmosphere was taken over by silence.
"Isn't it better than running away from it, right?"
I silently nodded at her. "I think so."
"Get some sleep now, it's midnight already," Roxy said and walked away from me.
"Good Night, teacher."
She gave me a weird thumbs-up and exited my room. I rested my head on the pillows and tried to fall asleep while being accompanied by the cool moonlight.
FLASHBACK
Sitting on the railing of a bridge, I felt like I was choosing a place to die as I watched the sunset. Maybe should I just die? Maybe not?
Upon losing someone significant to my being, I felt I lost a big battle of my life. I am already a loser…
I was determined.
"... Hello, Ben, son?"
To do it. So I phoned my mom.
"... Mom, uh, listen, I wanna take a break from everything."
"..."
I inhaled and said. "I don't know how long I will have to—"
"It's okay. Just mind your own business and try to have a good vacation, then. Carl and I will arrange everything for you."
A good vacation, huh… Mom didn't object to my stupid wish. Perhaps because I earned pretty high scores and ranks at school.
"... Thanks, Mom."
And then here started my loner life.
It was Grandpa Max who rented an apartment for me. Mom and Dad allowed me to take a break from school… even to live away from home. I couldn't be grateful enough.
But I wanted to live this way… As long as I needed to. And it wasn't that school was enjoyable for me. I had to deal with bullies almost every day.
"Tell me if you want me to make meals for you every day," Grandpa said.
"No, it's fine," I shook my head knowing so well how horrible his cooking was. "I can cook for myself."
He smiled and patted my shoulders.
"Good luck, Ben."
And so I started living a loser life alone. My dad found me a part-time job to waste my time away— one at a town library.
I became an assistant librarian at 15. I didn't care how much it paid me but… It was such a quiet and peaceful work that I liked so much.
FLASHBACK ENDS.
Thinking back, I now understood why I lived on. Maybe I should put effort into living a good life then.
"Dying is painful so I'd rather live, I suppose…"
I muttered to myself and closed my eyes to drop myself into sleep.
NEXT DAY.
"Miss Roxy, can I call you "Master?!""
She widened her eyes. "Why suddenly?"
"Er, I just feel like addressing you with more respect."
She stared at me in silence before breaking into giggles.
"Isn't it weird to call someone whose powers were inferior to yours— Master?"
Yeah, but it's just that I was born that way— I am a literal mana resource, FYI. According to the Omnitrix AI (who occasionally bashes me for no reason), my intelligence heavily relied on the brain structure of this body. I'd rather praise people who work hard than people who have natural talent and can achieve everything easily.
"No, it isn't," I replied confidently. "I am more than willing to serve you, Mistress Roxy."
Certainly, calling her "Miss Roxy" or "Roxy" sounded weird… I don't know, it would be normal by my "old-world" standards. But I guess the culture of this world works differently and it has affected me, too. Well, it's been over 4 years since I reincarnated.
"Haha, okay, okay. You can call me Master. But please don't call me Mistress— it's weirder."
"Yes, Master!"
I faced my back to her, building up my courage to say something more. Then I awkwardly walked away, as if to get ready for magic training, as I felt her gaze on my back. I turned around again and approached my "Master" again.
"Master, I have a request."
"Can you please train me to become a good mage?"
"Matty, you are acting weird today," she pointed out.
I was petrified. "Um, really?"
"I think I know your reasons."
"You sure know everything, Master."
"Now the way you call me Master sounds like mocking me," she facepalmed. "Tell me specifically why you wanna improve."
"..."
She sighed. "I am more than willing to teach you all I know. With your talent, smarts, mana, and all you've got, you exceed the essentials of a good student. Though I want to know you more since you are my student, I must teach you magic anyway as your parents pay for it."
I stretched the back of my head like a dumbfounded child.
"Hehe, I have superpowers. But if I want to protect my loved ones, I need to be stronger than I am now. I have to exile as many things as I can learn, so I can utilize one skill or another of mine to face any situation. That's why… Please make a good mage out of me, Master!"
Roxy speechlessly stared at me in awe. Then she bore a small smile.
"Let's go training right away, then!"
I became serious about my life again… Just like I had been serious to save her.
-(BREAK)-
And so there you have it.
About four months after those incidents, I was able to cast intermediate magic spells. I also took some more night classes to study the history of magic— since we couldn't really try out magic spells at night due to several issues. Speaking of the magic history...
"... The history of magic is also important so you should listen to me more carefully!"
Master Roxy scolded me. I yawned and got up from my bed, seeing her sitting on the wooden chair next to me.
"I don't know... I'd rather learn... yawns more spells..."
Yes, I couldn't care less about its history. Though, I allowed the Omnitrix AI to record and keep the information since it proposed the idea of researching the origin of magic.
She gently hit my head with her thick book. "Ouch."
"Listen up. While it isn't as significant as the spells, knowing its history will help you a lot in casting magic."
"Yeah, I can see your panties, Master— ouch."
She hit me again. "What's the point of calling me Master if you are acting like that?!"
She grumbled, crossing her legs hastily while giving me a glare. Man, I am actually putting effort to live my life and Master is hitting me now… And then she talked about some species. I didn't quite catch the facts as I was gazing off… I should concentrate before I accidentally make her mad!
Oh, I overheard about the "Great Human-Demon War" or something like that. A pretty big name, if I may. Apparently, humans and demons have been in a conflict for seven hundred— no, wait. Uh, I don't remember quite well but…
"It's seven thousand years ago, sir," the Omnitrix corrected me.
"Oh, thank you."
So, as she said, it started about seven thousand years ago. And the last big war was about 400 years ago. Jeez, they can't just stop causing the conflicts.
"... Magic supposedly originated in the distant past, when a certain race spoke with spirits and used wind and earth to defend themselves from external threats. Modern magic is the result of humans imitating that magic and formalizing it during their long war with demonkind… Hello, earth to Matteo? Are you listening?"
Before I noticed, my head landed on the piles of pillows. My eyelids were so heavy for me to open my eyes—
"Guess you are too sleepy to learn more," she sighed. "Have a good night's sleep. Let's continue these lessons tomorrow."
"Good… Master…" I muttered subconsciously and my mind went all black.
It's been about a year since Roxy arrived. My magic control had become pretty stable and now I could pull off some cool moves. On the other hand, my body wasn't strong enough yet to use a sword properly. Uh, I had perfected the basic moves of "sonic sword techniques." They are so basic. For example, I accidentally knocked my dad out with a technique that involved slapping the opponent with the flat side of the sword. That one really got Paul.
Master Roxy is impressive. She helped the villagers occasionally with her magic— and many villagers asked for her help. It showed how reliable she was. I don't regret deciding to call her my Master.
And then I came to learn that she was helping people to earn money. Well, not my place to judge, indeed. What's important is she is helping people— and that's all I need to know.
"Hmm, I wished I could help people and earn some money, too," I murmured, barely loudly enough for her to hear me.
She scowled at me for mocking her.
Anyway, let's skip some time.
A few months have passed since then and now I am 5.
The birthday celebrations were held at ages 5, 10, and 15, and apparently, it was customary for one's family to give gifts on those special days. Note that one is considered an adult at age 15 in this world.
I wasn't an adult in my previous life but in this world, I have always been an adult since birth. Jeez, not so funny.
Speaking of birthday celebrations, Paul gave me a pair of swords, saying a real man needed a good sword and stuff.
"In a boy's heart, there must be a sword to protect the people important to him—–" and stuff.
I am already trying to protect my people so it was quite embarrassing to hear it from my own ears. So I simply ignored his words for now.
One is a real sword that's too heavy for a 5-year-old child. The other is a short wooden sword. The real sword was forged and sharpened. How dangerous, Paul!
I'm gonna give him a lecture on his parental guidance. Hmm… Maybe I should appear before him as Ben Tennyson sometime and give him a piece of my mind?
I am not a big fan of blood, but I am keeping the sword he gave in my inventory for future use.
Mom stopped Dad's speech to hurry and move on with the party because his speech was too long. She made him cut it short. Seriously, girl power.
"Therefore, you need to put this away carefully and use it only in times of need."
"Thanks, Dad."
Let's store this sword in the inventory later.
Zenith gave me a book. "I suppose you would love this present," she said.
I wasn't that big of a book lover in my past life. In this life, I'd got nothing to do so I certainly read "five" books. But books in this world can be quite expensive (since there isn't a printer and all). So everything is handwritten. This book is also rather thick. It'd be hell to write it.
I gave my mom the brightest smile I could—
"Thanks, Mom!"
She patted my head. Dad showed an annoyed expression. "Matty, boy, your reaction is different from when you got my present."
Mom nodded. "Guess our boy is softer than you think, haha."
Dad started talking about manliness and stuff. I watched the two argue and grinned. Lilia also had a small smile.
In my past life, I didn't get to take care of my parents. I gave nothing but trouble to them— oh, the arguable part is I was an honor student so I hope my test scores would have pleased them at least. Other than that, I left my house at 16 and died… without saying goodbye to them.
Watching Paul and Zenith, I wonder how my previous parents reacted to my death.
Shaking off the sorry feeling before getting my eyes teary, I looked down at the book. It was a botanical encyclopedia. I am not that big of a plant lover, either, but I think the Omnitrix is going to love this. Also, this can help me understand the abilities of Swampfire better, I hope so.
Now… I turned my gaze at my Master.
"Uh… can I give you my present later?"
Mom and Dad stopped arguing and looked back at us.
"Oh, that's fine."
"I am curious what she will give him," Dad remarked.
So I got two swords from my father. My swordsmanship has yet to improve though—
Also, on the other hand, I've been figuring out how to use the abilities of individual aliens— and Roxy often sparred with me to practice them out. Though, I was never able to win against her. Uh, I am not exactly sad about that. She is the best magician I can find in the area after all. And I am also a newbie among Ben Tennysons.
"Wow… did he really… create a universe from scratch?"
"Yes, sir, he did. He created both time and space." (Omnitrix)
Hearing how Ben Prime recreated his own universe, I realized how powerless I was— though she assured me that every Ben was a newbie at first… Most of them obtained the Omnitrix at ten and learned their way up without the help of AI or anything.
After my birthday party,…
I transformed into Wildmutt and gave Roxy a ride though she was worried people would see us. I triple-checked if anyone was around via my 3D senses.
When she climbed onto my back, I really wanted to growl. Uh, anyway, let's go fast to the forest— Master Roxy said she would give me a birthday present there.
The forest has been our secret meeting place lately.
"First, let's have a surprise test," Roxy said nonchalantly.
"Hah, it's no fun, Master. It's my birthday so—"
"You said you wanted to work hard, right?"
Ah, it's not wrong. But I didn't mean to constantly work hard. Roxy is really driving me hard…
"Describe the appearance of a superd."
There she had the question. I gulped.
Superd. A tribe of skilled spearmen. It's a demonkind like what Roxy is but different. And Superd is the species Roxy is afraid of… I can't be sure if her information was right since she was so scared of them— but apparently, Superds are the most violent species among demons and even demons themselves are afraid of Superds.
"Um… Superds have emerald green hair… and a third-eye jewel in their forehead…"
During the Human-Demon war, Superds went on a rampage and killed everyone they saw— even their friends and families.
"So… what do you do if you see someone who resembles a superd?"
I still remember what she said— uh, the Omnitrix AI seems to disagree with Roxy though.
"… uh, avoid talking to them. If you have no choice but to communicate with them, don't anger them!"
"You pass!"
I tilted my head and gazed at Roxy in confusion. Just what kind of test is that?!
"You did well, Matteo."
"Thanks to your efforts, Master!"
The reason why the Omnitrix AI woman didn't agree with Roxy about opinions on the Superd tribe is… apparently she and other Ben Tennysons dislike discriminating against other species for whatever reasons. The Omnitrix reasoned with it by telling me how Ben Prime saved a species that committed a massive genocide and wiped out a good chunk of the universe.
Whatever, I am not Ben Prime. I couldn't care less— while I don't like racism, I won't forgive them if they hurt my family.
"Give some credits to yourself, too, Matty," she said. "You know there will be a time I will have to separate paths with you, right?"
"Why?" I asked a childish question. Of course, she isn't living with us forever… She will have to move on to another student as a tutor again.
"... I will move out when I get fed up with you, hehe…" she giggled. It was just weird to show me a side of her she didn't usually show to others.
"Don't tease me, I am not a kid, will ya?" I said, crossing my arms.
She brought out a stick and handed it to me. "Here, my gift."
I examined the item I just received. "Um, a wand?"
It was roughly thirty centimeters long and ended with a small red stone at the tip.
"I crafted it yesterday," she said. "It completely slipped my mind since you've been using magic this whole time. A master is supposed to create a rod or wand for a pupil who can use elementary magic. Sorry."
"It's fine," I gave her a thumbs-up and held the wand out at the sky. "Water Ball!"
A big water ball appeared above my head. Now then let's test out the wand!
I moved the wand in the air, watching the water ball flying as I commanded. Then finally, I turned it into a water blast and hurled it at a tree. The high-pressure blast left a huge crater in the trunk.
"Wow… I feel like a wizard."
Damn, this reminded me of the Harry Potter series. When I was a child, I thought being a wizard was so cool so I ran around the house while waving a random stick. Now her wand is reminding me of my embarrassing memories.
"I also have something to tell you, Matteo."
"What is it, Master?"
"Ahem… far to the north of here," she began. "Beyond the mountains is a country called Ranoa. In winter, it's very cold and covered in deep snow."
"Aw, what about it?"
"The Ranoa University of Magic is the best school of magic in the world," she continued. "It offers advanced, up-to-date lectures. At that school, social status and pride don't matter. It takes in students of all races and diligently pursues magical research."
Why is she talking about all this— oh, I see.
"... There will be a time I can't teach you more. When that time comes, I recommend you go to Ranoa."
"Hmm…" I cupped my chin and thought up a joke to break the suddenly serious atmosphere. "Guess I will find a lot of people I have to call "Master," haha."
"Certainly," she didn't play along with me. "Though, will you be okay leaving your family?"
I looked back at where my village supposedly was. "I wonder."
Can I really leave my family alone? Sure, Dad is a fine swordsman and Mom is a good adventurer. Heck, even our maid Lilia isn't just an ordinary person. But even so, the power of the Omnitrix is far beyond their abilities and yet, she said even with her power, she couldn't guarantee the safety of my family. Why? She said this world was far more chaotic than the original worlds of Ben Tennysons… And even with the power of the Omnitrix, there were times other Bens couldn't protect anyone.
"Hey, let's head back home. It's already dark."
Her voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah… we should go back."
-(BREAK)-
"So… This is the last test," she declared. "Are you ready?"
After the last test, I will have to say goodbye to her. If we have to separate paths, I must as well make it the best goodbye.
"I am ready!"
She nodded at me and entered the house to talk to my parents. I stood outside as I waited for her.
"Matteo…"
"Master."
"... Let's go."
We got into the backyard again. I transformed into Fasttrack and picked her up— then carried her in my arms.
"Hold me tight!" I said with a high-pitched voice. No sooner did I feel her hug me around my waist than I took off running at a lower speed to not make her dizzy.
The exam location was an open field… with green grass covering the ground and a tree on top of a small hill. The scenery was also nice enough— the endless green grassland that ended in the figures of mountains, making contact with the borders of the sky.
I put her down gently on the hill and transformed into my 17-year-old form.
"Hey, you found a good spot," she said.
"I guess but why this wide space?"
She grinned and raised her staff. "I'm going to demonstrate the saint-level water magic, Cumulonimbus. This technique is a magic that creates lightning strikes with violent rain."
Water magic, my ass. Lightning isn't part of elementary water.
"Uh, okay."
"And… Please follow what I do and attempt to cast the spell yourself."
Seriously, time flew so fast. Now it's time for graduation— and I can't believe it myself.
"For demonstration purposes," she alerted me. "I'm gonna dismiss the spell after a minute. If you can keep the rain falling for… at least an hour, let's say, I'll consider that a pass."
Oi, oi, aren't you setting the bar too high?
"Any questions?"
"No, I'm good."
Roxy nodded and faced her back toward me and raised both her hands skyward.
"Oh, spirits of the magnificent waters, I beseech the Prince of Thunder! Grant me any wish, bless me with your savagery, and reveal to this insignificant servant a glimpse of your power! Let fear strike the heart of man as your divine hammer strikes its anvil and covers the land with water! Come, oh rain, and wash everything away in your flood of destruction!
CUMULONIMBUS!"
After one minute of dramatic chanting, our surroundings grew dark. It was obviously taking effects… —- then a pelting rain began to fall. The winds roared accompanied by black clouds that flickered with lightning.
"Whoa… this is…" I was at a loss for words, spinning to watch my environment in awe. "Holy!"
"I suggest you transform into Diamondhead, sir."
The Omnitrix woman said in my mind. My small body was almost blown away by the powerful winds.
"Damn, do it!" I yelled out loud. I was promptly covered in green light and then transformed into Diamondhead.
The sky began to rumble with a purple light shot through the clouds. The lightning grew stronger and stronger… and then…
"Crap!" I cursed.
The lightning struck the tree next to us— leaving my vision all blank. Roxy was no better. She let out an alarming cry and allowed the clouds to scatter and thunder promptly let up.
"Hu…"
"Ah, I think… I need a healing," I jokingly said. We both laughed together for a moment. Damn, Omnitrix. The weakness of Diamondhead is sound— and you just almost gave me trouble!
I glanced at the wet grasslands and the tree that was partially burnt by the lightning.
Hmm…
I reached out and summoned crystals out of the earth. The crystals formed a small stage, with walls slowly appearing. Afterward, the crystals were eventually shaped into a hollow ball-shaped barrier with an entrance and a couple of peepholes.
"Please get into it, Master…"
"... oh, I see. Thanks."
I don't know what kind of chaos my magic can cause so it's the best I can do to protect her. When she had entered the barrier, I carefully closed the entrance with an openable door and restored my human form to cast magic, raising the wand she gifted me.
"Now I will begin. Oh, spirits of the magnificent waters, I beseech the Prince of Thunder! Grant me any wish,..."
Man, imagine you have to memorize the entire incantation. Thankfully, I was born a genius, otherwise, I'd be relying on the Omnitrix for it. Now I held my breath as I continued chanting the spell.
"... Come, oh rain, and wash everything away in your flood of destruction!
CUMULONIMBUS!"
I hope my spell won't be as strong as hers. Can't be more devastative!
The clouds that Master Roxy had created earlier collected in the air and the rain started falling heavily with the winds devastatingly whirled around. Thankfully, due to my visualization, the spell wasn't as powerful as Roxy's turn but I had more to worry about.
Now how do I have to hold this magic for an hour? I could see Roxy smirk at me. Arghhh, this is my final exam. I don't wanna screw this up.
"Omnitrix, now what!?" I panicked and asked her for advice.
"Use Waterhazard."
I raised an eyebrow at that. "Um, it's not magic."
"But it would ensure an hour of rain, sir."
I deadpanned. I was expecting some scientific advice but nothing good came from her. Uh, whatever… let's see. I quickly scanned through the list to search for a spell that could hold the rain for an hour while I kept my hands skyward.
After fiving minutes, my hands started feeling numb. Ah, okay, I give up—science rules.
"Are you okay, sir?"
I mentally sighed. "Are you mocking me? Give me Waterhazard."
"... Right away, sir."
Is it just me or did I hear her giggle? The Omnitrix is so advanced that she can mock her owner!? This is crazy.
With a flash of green light, I transformed into Waterhazard of Orishans.
I was covered with red tough armors with pores over my body. I have a pore in each palm that can generate water out of my body. Somehow, I could control this exoskeleton armor. So I commanded it to slide down the two masks, one of which covered just over my face and the other slid down under the hood.
"Oi, that's cheating!" Roxy said, annoyed.
"Don't worry," I replied, still keeping my hands up. "I am gonna fuse my own abilities with magic so… what's so crazy about fusing magic with my abilities!?"
Hydrokinesis.
According to the documents the Omnitrix presented to me, Waterhazard is able to manipulate a large quantity of water in any place. And can absorb moisture and again generate water out of his body. This one is quite a handful but the most versatile alien form after Big Chill in my list.
I tuned the temperature of moisture in the air, causing it to raise upward, thus strengthening the clouds filled with vapor. Meanwhile, due to hydrokinetic attractive force, the underground water dug its way out and surrounded around my legs. It slowly flew upward, entirely engulfing me in the center. Then I raised its temperature, again turning it into vapor and allowing them to rise to the clouds.
When water is warmed, it loses density. So the warmer water rises while the colder sinks— thus the circulation of water occurs.
"Okay, I don't know what is going on!" Roxy said. "All that water suddenly appearing out of nowhere and vanishing into thin air again… it feels like an illusion."
"You know what? My previous world… didn't have magic."
"... Huh?"
I faced toward the barricaded Roxy as the winds began to whirl around strongly.
"We have…" I snapped my fingers. "Illusions."
Suddenly, the rain stopped… giving off a feeling that it paused and was absorbing the moisture to drop a storm onto the earth. Yes, that was practically what was going on.
"..." Master Roxy watched through the peepholes, with full of enthusiasm.
"Here comes… the magic!"
I allowed the rain to restart its process… and this time even heavier. The cluster of raindrops made contact with the ground continuously making rapid noises that sounded like missiles exploding around us.
"Wow… But it's going to flood the area at this rate!" Roxy commented.
"Be patient, Roxy," I reassured her. "I have… more!"
In the meantime, I had been using saint-class magic to keep the thunderclouds active— which were hiding just above the rainclouds. The lightning flashed behind the curtains of cloud and then struck the same tree near me— even frightening Roxy this time.
"Oh… crap," I murmured upon seeing the tree burning from inside so I quickly drew the water around and poured all of it on the tree while killing the heat from inside. Due to the hydrokinetic temperature manipulation, I could lower the temperature of water in the veins of the tree, cooling off its trunk and branches. Only a few leaves survived though.
"Now then…"
I collected all the water and moisture that had made contact with the ground… again turning them into vapor and letting them rise.
I guess I am keeping this up for another 45 minutes. Constantly raining at this rate for an hour would certainly flood the area, but this method of hydrokinetic circulation, it's guaranteed to avoid floods.
"I really want to make water dragons…"
"Can you do that, too?" She excitedly said.
"Sadly, no. It takes concentration on another level."
To craft a dragon out of the water and maintain it in the air— oh, colder water would work better for sure due to its density. But still, creating the details of a dragon with water as the material would be a big pain.
"What do you think of this, Master?"
"Beautiful… no, it's artistic! This is… creative enough to surpass me…" she sighed.
I transformed into Diamondhead and got her out of the barriers. Then I carried her in my arms. The rain was still falling from the effects… and would probably fall for another half an hour.
"You pass," she whispered.
There you have it, folks. I graduated as a magician!
-(TRANSITION)-
Though I would give her a ride, she insisted she would go alone.
Mom and Dad were talking funny to hold her back, lol. Not that I could laugh at them.
"I'm grateful but I plan to travel the world and hone my magical abilities over again."
Keeping my cool as I held back my sadness, I clenched her gift in my fist and watched her back as she left our sight.
Her gift was… a treasure from her village.
I hope our paths will cross again, Master Roxy…
END OF CHAPTER (3)
Lemme tell ya a horrifying truth— Zenith is the same age as Ben! She was 17 when she gave birth to Ben's reincarnation, and Ben was 17 when he died. Paul is only a few years older than Zenith and Ben, and it's not much either.
Thanks for reading and writing reviews.
