Chapter 53: Fighting Back
As Zamenza and Moody were looking to find a Dirty Delinquent member, they happened to bump right into Commander Gideon Grant, who decided to take the duo on whilst exercising caution. However, they proved to be too much of a match for him, so he decided to hide in order to plan his next attack. Whilst the world was under Dirty Delinquent control, it was being undone slowly by some forces…
Speaking of, the Pokken Arts Fighters from around the world were defeating Dirty Delinquent members left and right, even taking down Corporals, Sergeants and Commanders. In a kingdom filled with snow and blizzards, Manfred was joined by some of his Elephant troops from his village and received help from the rulers of the kingdom themselves through their soldiers.
Manfred: Chaaaaaaaarge!
Manfred and his supporters charged forward while some of the others had cannons ready to fire and support the charge. The cloaked soldiers were panicking as some of them had dropped their weapons at the oncoming troops.
?: Shit! They're coming this way! Deploy the Pinetorbs and fire!
Manfred: Bust thrrrough and leave only rrrubble!
A male Donphan with brown colors wearing fur anklets next to him had a similar accent and seemed to act like a "second-in-command" Pokemon as he addressed the cannon supporters with a…
Donphan: Cannons, bounce back any bomb Mutants zey send ourrr vay!
The rest of the troops trumpeted as their running shaked the earth, knocking away the cloaked soldiers. From the enemy's side, cannons lined up and stuffed Pinetorbs in them, lighting the fuse that fired them out. However, the cannons by the supporters fired, striking the Pinetorbs with cannonballs as they landed and blew up. But Manfred had another idea to ravage them.
Manfred: Comrade, deploy underrrgrrround units!
Donphan: Understood!
He stopped and turned around, trumpeting some of his troops to follow him by digging underground in order to take them by surprise. Meanwhile some of Manfred's troops followed him as they moved around, dodging any bullets being fired as well as avoiding the Pinetorbs that landed in front of them.
?: They're getting closer! We have to stop them! They're ruining world liberation!
Manfred and his troops knocked every single one of the cloaked Pokemon away, with one Pinetorb landing in front of him. With quick thinking, Manfred used his tusks to pick it up and threw it far enough to send the cloaked Pokemon screaming and running away as it exploded, leaving an area of charred snow in its wake. The Donphan and his units popped out the ground, striking every other member by surprise, dwindling the numbers down to only a few left standing.
One of the cloaked Pokemon pressed an emblem, only for the Donphan to smash into him with a Rollout attack. The ally cannons fired, this time striking the enemy cannons, breaking them to being unusable. At this point, the cloaked Pokemon had only one option.
?: Retreaaat!
They scurried away, which meant a victory for Manfred and his troops.
Manfred: Ve defend honorrr of home. Grrreat vorrrk, everrryone!
The troop trumpeted happily like a triumphant cry, knowing that they had won their war. Elsewhere in another kingdom with lava and fires including charcoal terrain and burrows, Dylan was joined by Pokemon of his species bearing similar colors to his armor. He also was next to a larger Durant who he seemed to be familiar with as they looked in the face of cloaked Pokemon who have overtaken their homeland.
Dylan: So, I'm capable of fighting by your sides again, huh? Perhaps the queen can finally see my worth.
Durant: …The queen still brands you as a weakling. I hope you've learned from our experience last time in the ring.
Dylan: I have. I'm going to think ahead and look forward to the right outcome.
Durant: …Nice. Prove me in battle against our enemies, and perhaps I might convince our fair queen to give you a chance…
The cloaked soldiers began pointing their weapons at the Durant army until a red-cloaked Commander had to stop them.
Commander: Put down those weapons, you idiots! They can resist bullets.
They put their weapons away, awaiting for the Commander to give another order. Dylan and the Durant army were unable to hear their voices due to how far away they were.
Dylan: It seems that they've met their match.
Durant: No. It appears that they're getting smarter. They know of our sturdy armor, which bullets can bounce off. If I had to guess, they'll use their own movesets, or probably have other weapons to rely on…
One of the cloaked Pokemon had a question to ask of the Commander regarding the situation.
?: Commander, what now?
Commander: What do you think? We use our own movesets. We can split it into two units, one being physical and the other using long-range attacks for support.
?: Yes sir! Physical hitters, front row! Special users, provide support for the front lines with long-range attacks!
As they lined up, most of the cloaked units were physical hitters, while long-range hitters remained in the back for support.
Durant: It appears that they've got a strategy. The ones lining up are the physical hitters. The ones remaining in the back are the special hitters. We'll have to be careful. Dylan, you and I are physical hitters like old times.
Dylan: But who's going to take out the special hitters?
Durant: Don't worry about it. We've got a way. For now, stick to brutal attacking. Everyone! You know what to do! Let us take back our world! Gooooooo!
The army cheered and charged forward with some of them burrowing underground as the enemy's physical hitters came in with suffer-effective attacks ready, with their special hitters using fire attacks as well as using earth-magical attacks. Meanwhile, in a country filled with ruined areas, along with discipline and fighting energy, Crusta was joined by a Medicham and Meditite, two Hariyama, a Hitmonlee, and two Decidueye, one of which had a different appearance from the other as they had a straw-like hat and red feathers.
The Dirty Delinquents were already under attack by Crusta's group, who had launched a counter strike on them. Explosions rang out, sending cloaked Pokemon running just about.
?: Shit! We're under attack! Pokemon are rebelling against us suddenly!
?: Fool! One of them is a Pokken Arts Fighter! They probably thought this through!
A single arrow landed near two of the cloaked Pokemon, which exploded a purple mist that sent them flying, followed by a fireball and whirlwinds that took out an entire squad. Crusta, who was alone, single-handedly knocked out an entire unit with his pincers, not even stopping as he charged forward shouting…
Crusta: Vive la Brahwleeng Country!
With that said and done, Crusta paused for a second as he heard an aerial fleet, which were flying cloaked members with Pinetorbs and Forretrodes in tow. As Crusta looked up, he could only say…
Crusta: Sheet!
However, some of them were knocked out of the sky including the Pinetorbs and Forretrodes by arrows and fireballs, dropping like flies and narrowly dodging their weapons' explosions in the air.
Crusta: Zat wahs a clahse one! Time to beat sahme ahss like zey owe my country!
In another country filled with electricity and cities, on the outskirts, Wire was joined by a Luxray, a Magneton, a Vikavolt, and a strange creature that resembled a tree as its body looked like black wiring including its "arms", "legs", and tail as they had cable ties around them, and its glowing "head" resembling a light ornament as it had spikes on it. Despite the creature's appearance, its allies seemed to know it more.
Their country was also under attack by the Dirty Delinquents as the soldiers carried guns, bazookas and flying support over the fields in the skies above.
Luxray: We're taking back our country! No more jobless schmucks like us struggling to make a living in this world!
Magneton: Our economy cannot flow freely if we're to be bums who slack around with no drive.
Vikavolt: In the name of Arceus and our country, your organization will fall to its knees by the railgun!
Wire: Crash, burn, nosedive, insanity unemployment!
Creature: *sweat drop, points* …Y-Yeah…What he said…
A Sergeant among the army stepped in to deliver a command, shouting…
Sergeant: Bring this country to its knees! Make them regret our way of living that we carved out for them!
The cloaked soldiers charged with some of them firing bazookas, which were bounced back by some sort of invisible wall as it struck some of their members.
Sergeant: What the hell?! They bounced off!
Creature: Light Screen, you sons of bitches!
Sergeant: Dammit! Go for a Brick Break to shatter the barriers!
The cloaked soldiers continued forward, with some of them having hands and such glowing white, ready to destroy the barrier in front of them.
Luxray: Damn! They've figured it out! *frustration mark* Nice going, you wired jackass!
Creature: *frustration mark* I didn't give much information to them! They knew how to dismantle it on their-
Vikavolt: Hey! Enough insults! They're coming this way!
Luxray: Whatever. Let's take back our homeland!
The world was slowly being restored, but only slowly…Pokken Arts fighters along with help from leaders of their countries were pushing back against their newfound "future". While the push for a restoration of the world was underway, Zamenza and Moody had to be cautious around their enemy, as he was hiding in plain sight.
Unbeknownst to them, Gideon had secretly called his troops to head his way whilst hiding, which would only be a matter of time before they could get here to his aid.
Moody: (...It's no good…I can't tell where he is at this point…!)
Zamenza: (...Don't fret…He's around here somewhere…)
Like a vampire in the shadows, Gideon patiently waited as he hung upside down from a branch using his tail, watching their every move as they got closer to him.
Gideon: *grins* (...That's right…Walk towards your doom…Not that it's going to make any difference…My allies will arrive and level this place with the both of you to die… *chuckles*)
When the duo got close enough, Gideon's eyes glowed red and swooped down, his pincers crossed in front of him to deliver a blow, only for Zamenza to notice his presence as he looked up.
Zamenza: Look out!
He pushed Moody down to the ground on his face as Gideon flew by, somewhat surprised by the incoming attack had he not noticed at the last second.
Gideon: (...Dammit…! That old Alakazam saw me with his good eyes…!)
Moody got back up along with Zamenza, only for him to complain.
Moody: *frustration mark* Dammit, Zammy! You know I don't have a good back anymore! I oughta sue you for any harm that might come!
Zamenza: *sweat drop* …I saved your life, you know…
Moody: *sighs* …Thanks.
Zamenza looked up, only to notice that Gideon was gone again as he was surveying the area around them.
Zamenza: …This is not good. He's using these trees to hide himself…! I gotta give it to him…He knows how to use his environment…and hide his energy…Almost reminds me of another Pokemon I fought…
Moody: Well, we can't sit here and play "hide and seek" with this bat…scorpion…thingy! There's gotta be a way to lure him out…!
Zamenza: …Maybe there is…
Moody: Oh? Got something?
Zamenza: Yeah. But you may not like it.
Moody: …What is it? You want me to play decoy again?
Zamenza: No. I'm going to do a little…"deforestation".
Moody: What?! Have you no regard…for…I see. The less trees, the less hiding spots he has.
Gideon overheard every word, which put him on edge.
Gideon: (...Damn…! If they're going to do that, then-)
He then heard the sounds of ships sailing, which made him do a double take before he knew some familiar allies heading around the area.
Gideon: *grins* (...It seems that my prayers have been answered… *chuckles*)
Zamenza and Moody began feeling energy that was not of good news, which put them on edge.
Moody: Shit! Don't tell me…!
Gideon then appeared in front of them, grinning at the opportunity he was going to take.
Gideon: *chuckles* So you realize that you're doomed! Have fun blowing up to pieces!
He flew the coop while laughing in the nightly air, with Zamenza and Moody chasing after him, only to realize that as he was seen flying on the oceans, ships were lined up around the island.
Zamenza: We've been set up!
Moody: Clever son of a bitch! Wait a minute!
They exchanged looks with each other before they realized a certain Pokemon was still out there with them.
Zamenza & Moody: Moby!
They ran to where they would normally find him, only to see an empty spot with the Dirty Delinquent ships approaching them. A cloaked Pokemon on the starboard with a booming Roto Speaker addressed them directly, saying…
?: Zamenza and Moody of the elderly…You two are coming back alive with us to-
Before the cloaked Pokemon could continue his sentence, his ship was toppled over, along with other ships falling after.
Zamenza: …What the…
In no time flat, their path was now open as Moby surfaced in front of them near the edge of the island.
Moby: Surprise! I called some of my friends to help us out when the scary ships showed up.
Zamenza: …You good old whale, you.
Moody: You had friends?
Six large Pokemon surfaced next to Moby, which were a green Gyarados, two Wailord, two Wishiwashi and a creature appearing to resemble a space shuttle with its body consisting of a pointy, green tin head followed by a thin neck and bamboo shoots that float next to it. The creature intrigued the old duo, as they've never seen something like it before.
Moody: *sweat drop* …Moby, I know that you have friends and all, but…what kind of creature is that?
The creature then spoke in a rather feminine voice, which actually surprised them.
?: I am a Celesteela. Do not worry, as I was called here by your friend to help.
Moody: (...No, you're definitely not someone I'd like to call your friend…!)
Zamenza: You've got an interesting bunch, Moby.
Moby: Definitely.
Moody: Uh, hate to change topics, but our primary target is running away! We need to go after that son of a bitch before he disappears into the night!
Zamenza: …Hmm…You're right. Moby, let's go.
Moby: Sure.
...
Back to where Gideon Grant was, he continued flying in the night sky, thinking about just how close he was to actually being defeated by the old duo. He pressed the emblem on his cloak to contact a familiar Pokemon.
?: Hello?
Gideon: Ah, Major Hamm. It appears that I've actually got some trouble.
He looked back at the island he left, only to see ships being turned over in the oceans and Pokemon following after him.
Hamm: Trouble, huh? *snorts* Are you having some problems? It's not very becoming of you, Commander. *snorts*
Gideon: Apparently, they're stronger than I thought. And judging by what happened, it seems that my units are not enough. You'll have to take them out.
Hamm: Me? Why? Do I have to clean up after your mess, Commander?
Gideon: Sorry, but I have other plans…You're not too far, are you?
Hamm: How so?
Gideon noticed a boat hut in the ocean up ahead, which was familiar to him.
Gideon: I can see your boat hut from the skies.
Hamm: Eh?! *snorts* You idiot! You're luring them to me!
Gideon: No, no….Not luring…Just…giving you the benefit of the doubt.
Hamm: I don't approve of this, Commander! You'd better turn around and defeat those-
He hung up the call, flying over the boat hut and into the moonlight yonder as if nothing happened.
Gideon: *chuckles* I'm leaving them up to you, Major…I know you've got something planned. As for me…I need "easier prey"...
...
Back at the Fox Village, everything was peaceful and quiet as most of the Pokemon were in bed for the night. No fires were burning and the sounds of crickets were humming just about. The guards were asleep outside the tents save for a few, who were patrolling to keep an eye out for an enemy ambush. However, that came to an end as bombs landed near them, not exploding but rather emitting a mist that confused the guards until they fell into a slumber-like state.
Landing in the village was a green Frogadier wearing a blue Corporal's cloak and wearing a yellow, bubble-like scarf over his face save for the eyes, as to not inhale the sleepy mist. He went into the largest teepee where the chief and his family were and pulled out a katana from the cloak, ready to slice them until his sword was blocked by a skirmish tail, waking the family up as they were surprised by the intruder.
Said Pokemon blocking the sword with the tail appeared to be a black Skitty, who didn't seem the least bit tired.
Naidu: What the?!
Samantha: Go warn the others!
Frogadier: You're stupid, you know. Ribbit!
Samantha: Oh, Arceus…An annoying frog with annoying mannerisms.
Frogadier: Hey, what the hell, ribbit?! Annoying?!
Naidu and his family left the teepee in a hurry, only for them to fall down in a sleeping state.
Samantha: What the?!
Frogadier: *chuckles* They're not going very far, ribbit. I'll tell you where they're going, which is dreamland, ribbit! Everyone's going to dreamland! *laughs*
