So defiantly something different from Scream 2022. Not sure how crazy this one will get but it will be kind of goofy and equal parts fluff. Not for everyone. Contains some language and sexual references. The title is based on the song 'You Might be the Killer' by Harlo featured in the movie 'You Might be the Killer'. I think it kind of fits lol.

Samantha couldn't believe the text when she got it,

Tara's in the hospital. She was attacked last night.

It was so short and fast like Amber was in a hurry and needed to vomit this information out about her best friend so she could go mack on the newest guy she was seeing that week. Samantha was scared, she left home five years ago and hadn't seen her parents or sister since, she knew Tara must have resented her for that; no talk just packed up and left in the middle of the night with not even so much as a note or a 'Goodbye'.

Samantha had recently broke up with her boyfriend, she almost wanted to ask if he might want to go with her but decided it was better she handle this on her own. Woodsboro, no matter if you left it you still might find yourself back there someday. All she could hope was that this had nothing to do with Ghostface, nothing to do with Sidney Prescott and nothing to do with her.

Everything was hazy, the hospital room was nothing but light and poor outlines of things that resembled people. Tara kept playing with her hands, she had feeling in one, nothing in the other, it was wrapped up tight with gauze. As she went in and out of consciousness she made out a doctor and a nurse with a large backside talking to Sheriff Judy Hicks out in the hallway. Those pink scrubs, she found her figure to be ridiculously robust and she'd been glued to it for an inappropriate amount of time.

She'd seen that brown uniform many times in the past, if it it wasn't Judy it was some other officer hassling her sister for something she may or may not have done. Damn those drugs made her feel good, she always wondered why her friends always boasted about getting high during lunch or out in the parking lot and thought they were idiots but now she was understanding on their level. Voices were muffled, Hicks kept looking in at her with those judgy adult eyes; Tara always suspected she might be a lesbian, she did have a son but that didn't change anything. When she heard Samantha's name brought up her ears perked, anything was better than her alcoholic mother; Samantha could look after her while that lunatic was on her 'business trip' aka week long bender.

Hicks walked in the room and leaned over the bed, she seemed to be awfully close but Tara's vision was throwing everything off, her eyes were like a house of funhouse mirrors.

"Tara, your sister is coming."

"...Cool...," Tara answered, eyes heavy, "Say, can the nurse come back in?"

"Do you need something?"

Tara didn't want to say, she smiled and said, "Nah...," she chuckled a little leaving Hicks to think the meds were just doing their job. She must've dozed off for a bit because the next thing she knew Samantha was arguing with Hicks out in the hallway, the door was slightly closed but Tara could make out those thick eyebrows. Samantha was so feisty, she loved it, she almost hoped she'd smack Hicks but knew she'd get her ass thrown in jail without question and she'd be stuck here until Mother of the year showed up. Like a heavenly vision Samantha's face hovered over her, cast in light, she smiled and said something that made her sound a mile away.

"Sam?"

"Tara, hey, it's me!"

"Sam..."

"I know I owe you an explanation. I can't take you home yet but I'm staying here with you. Anything you need just let me know."

Tara smirked like a dope, "Beer?"

Samantha chuckled, "Well, at least your sense of humor isn't effected."

"Sam, did you see that nurse's ass?"

Samantha frowned, "No?"

"God, it's so big, you could bounce anything off it."

She wasn't sure if she heard her, she wasn't even sure if she said it more than once or even out loud, every time she closed her eyes more time passed, the next thing she knew the room lights were off and Samantha was asleep in a chair at her side. She closed her eyes again for what felt like seconds, she was interrupted by an alarm, Samantha had disappeared, out in the hallway was doctors and nurses running all bathed in a red light. She heard gun shots but she was powerless to get up, she could hardly move to lower half of her body.

"Tara! Tara!"

Samantha ran in and grabbed her face, Tara was still pretty out of it but she knew after all she just witnessed something concerning must've transpired. Samantha ripped off the IV tubes and pulled her covers away.

"Sam, what are you doing?" She answered this so calmly that it was comical.

"I'm getting you out of here!"

She stopped at the bruises on her younger sister's legs but there was no time to come up with a second plan, she ran back into the hallway and came back with a wheelchair. She helped lift her onto it and wheeled her out. Despite being in pain, Tara could still find the dumbest jokes funny, "Say, you didn't see my butt in the back of this gown did you?"

Samantha hesitated, "WHAT? TARA!"

She steered the thing with all might, trying to get any kind of speed on it.

"Sam, it's ok, as you might have already noticed I've been working out so it's a little more toned...

"What?"

Tara knew she dozed off again because now she saw the front step of her house from the comfort of the passenger side seat of Samantha's car, Samantha opened the door and helped get her sister safely inside.

"Damn, what's happening? How many days have we been on the run?"

"A half an hour," Samantha answered bluntly.

Tara huffed when Samantha helped her sit down on the couch, she touched her face before running to the door to bolt it, Tara watched her run to the kitchen and upstairs. Samantha was being thorough but even Tara had ask when she came back, "I was attacked her, not exactly the safest safe house you know?"

Samantha sighed and sat across from her on the big stool, she was tired, it was only now her heart beat slowed down to a normal steady pace.

"I need time to think."

Tara smiled, maybe it was the drugs but she liked seeing her older sister take charge, "All good. So what happened back there?"

Samantha massaged her temple, "Someone stabbed one of the cops watching you and I think Hicks was there but everything happened so fast, every alarm was going off, I was trying to buy coffee way at the other end of the wing, it was chaos trying to reach you," she touched Tara's wrapped hand, caressing it.

"So you didn't see who did it?"

Samantha shook her head, vulnerable, she clearly wanted to hug her but she knew it might be too painful right now, "Tara, did you see who attacked you? Were they dressed like Ghostface?"

Tara's lips made this odd shape, like she was holding back a laugh, "Dude, I can barely remember getting stabbed. I just remember that nurse's ass and getting hella high."

Samantha wanted to laugh but she knew she had to be the adult here, "Tara, this is serious. You've been targeted and clearly someone wants to finish the job. Now can you think of who it could be?"

Tara was lost in Samantha's eyes, "Wow, I never realized how pretty your eyes were."

Samantha smiled, "Uh, thanks but..."

Tara moved her more mobile hand across Samantha's face and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, "Really shouldn't cover that face up."

Samantha thought she was just being weird, this might not have been the best time to get information, "We'll um, talk tomorrow. I have some things I have to say."

"Oh? Juicy details?"

Samantha knew this mood would change tomorrow, she might hate her, scream, throw things, she might want her gone for running out on her life. She felt a headache, she was tired, she couldn't imagine how Tara felt, she wasn't sure if she could get her up the stairs without her falling and injuring herself even more, she'd have to set up the couch as her temporary living arrangement.

"I'll get some stuff from upstairs. You don't have to be in that stupid gown," she sneered and headed for the stairs, she stopped a moment feeling Tara was looking at her, maybe she had something on her or something, she turned her head slightly to see Tara's eyes closed, nothing just her own paranoia. She hadn't seen her sister's room in years, no unicorns or toy castle but there were some stuffed animals, it almost looked like her bedroom before she left, she wasn't sure what Tara preferred to wear, she took the first things that stuck out in her drawer.

"Sorry, Tara wasn't sure what to grab...," she had some blankets and the big soft pillow that was on her bed, she dropped all of it when she found Tara standing up with her back turned to her with her gown on the floor; Samantha stammered, eyes wide she didn't know what to do.

Tara turned her head and caught her big sis's gaze, "You're right, that gown is stupid."

Samantha picked up the blanket off the floor and rushed to her, draping it over her shoulders, Tara curled up on the couch, Samantha just stood there, unsure if she was needed.

"Your clothes..."

"It's warm in here, Sam...," she smiled up at her, Samantha wasn't sure if she knew what she saw.

Tara for now looked comfortable, Samantha was somewhat satisfied enough to call it a night and sleep in the chair, able to keep watch for at least as long as she could, maybe this could be something they could both laugh about tomorrow, in her state, Tara wouldn't be able to recall half of what she said or did; she was kind of cute sleeping, she wasn't a kid anymore, she was 18, almost the same age Samantha was when she took off, gosh she missed so much. She had to talk to Amber, all of her friends tomorrow, everyone that could be a suspect or know who was behind hurting her...it was the least she could do after all this time apart.

To be continued!
