After about a year, Himiko had been trained to use her Blood Demon Art properly by all of the Upper Moons and her father, Muzan. She was given a choker necklace that had a replica of one of her eyes encased in the glass that had the kanji for "heir" engraved in the center, much like the Upper Moons, so the minor demons knew exactly who she was.

Unlike most demons, Himiko could touch the sun. But also unlike most demons, her head could be severed as easily as her arm. She was like a "glass skull" in the demon hierarchy. She could overpower every demon aside from Akaza and up, but one true blow to her neck would easily end her. Himiko had learned Breath of the Moon from Kokushibo and he had crafted her a sword. It was like any other Nichirin blade, but it had a crescent Tsuba and an eye was on the base of either side of the blade. Through Breath of the Moon, Himiko developed her own Breathing style, Breath of Blood.

"Are you sure about this? You could get caught." Akaza worried for the hundredth time. "Yes, don't sweat it." Himiko assured her big-brother figure. She was going to join the ranks of the demon slayer corps, in hopes of brokering peace with the Ubuyashikis. She hugged Akaza, then was seen out by Nakime. Himiko was wearing a replica of Kokushibos kimono and hakama, any demon trait of hers having disappeared. When she arrived on the path, Himiko followed the sickening stench of wisteria to the selection grounds.

Tanjiro was waiting for the selection, when he smelled a demonic presence approaching the grounds. He shifted his head to see a blonde in twin buns, wearing a purple kimono. What caught his attention though, was her sword. It was flooded with the scent of a powerful demon. The scent was almost suffocating to Tanjiro, but he willed himself to approach her. She turned to him with a smile as he neared. "Hello! Here for the selection?" She asked, Tanjiro nodded in the affirmative. "Hai! I take it you are too?"

"Mhm!" The girl replied. "What's your name? I'm Himiko!"

"I'm Kamado Tanjiro! I use Water Breathing to kill demons. You?" The burgundy asked. He was still suspicious of the girl, but he had his inhibitions. Her scent was genuine, and his own sister was a demon. He'd let it slide, for now.

Himiko, completely oblivious to Tanjiros suspicion, answered his question. "I use Breath of Blood! Made it myself!" She said cheerily. "You developed your own breathing style?" Tanjiro said, his eyes widening slightly. While it wasn't unheard of, it was rare to find someone so young with their own breathing style. "Mhm!" Himiko replied.

Pretty soon, two children announced the rules of the Final Selection. Seven days in a forest killing demons. No problem. There was a cute boy who had shaved sides and yellow tips that she tagged along with, much to his apparent annoyance. It was only a matter of hours before the duo came across a group of demons at dusk.

Genya was secretly glad someone decided to join him, even though it was an annoying blonde who made his heart pump and face go red. He didn't know what this was, due to being emotionally constipated. Why did his heart beat faster when Himiko got closer?

The two encountered a group of demons, and Genya panicked. He didn't bring a sword! He ate demons for his own self defense! Then, Genya turned to Himiko, to see something he couldn't believe. She was like him! Genya then jumped into the fray himself, tearing apart every demon that came close to him.

Himiko's eyes widened as she saw Genya join her. Literally. He straight up jumped on a demon and started eating his flesh. She expected him to run, attack her, or at least ask for her sword, seeing that he didn't have one. Not this. Oh well, new friend achieved! Himiko was so caught up in the excitement that she didn't even notice the demon about to attack her from behind, until Genya yanked her out of its path. "Oh, thanks Gen-Gen!" Yes she had already come up with a pet name. But could you blame her? Genya was adorable! She then reached over her companion, getting into an armlock with the demon who was about to decapitate her new friend. She then flung the demon behind her, taking off an arm in the process. The demon proceeded to flee, and Himiko made eye contact with Genya. "Thanks for saving me! That woulda hurt!" She commented, offering the arm to Genya. "You still hungry?" The boy shook his head. "No thanks."

"Alright, let's go find more demons!" The two ran and tracked down demons, ripping them apart with their bare hands. They generally avoided other contestants, but had to save a couple here and there. They managed to keep their general appearance hidden and Himiko had to restrain Genya a couple of times from going after the other participants.

For the next six days, Himiko and Genya tore apart demons nonstop, tearing off chunks along the way to sustain their energy. When the seven days were over, Genya and Himiko were both covered in blood, both demons and their own. Since they decided not to use Nichirin, the duo had to rip out the demon's internals, including the brain and heart, and hang them by their organs in the trees.

The forest was a bit of a mess.

Just a bit.

As the two left the forest, they dropped their demon states and started walking through the wisteria. "Ugh." Himiko said, clutching her head. "Eh? Himiko? Are you okay?" Genya asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. Wisteria gives me headaches, demon abilities and all."

"Ah." Genya said, understanding. "Well, let's get out of here quick, then." It only took a few minutes, and the duo reached the outside of the forest, meeting up with the other contestants. Little did they know, though, a kasugai crow was assigned to each examinee to report back to the master. Theirs would have quite the story to tell.

"- Congratulations, welcome back." the two children from a week ago said, greeting the survivors. Himiko spotted a heavily injured Tanjiro, an unscathed butterfly girl, and a blonde who kept saying he was going to die. Genya was the one who asked what was going to be happening, and the two mini Ubuyashikis replied with an adequate explanation. Apparently, they were at the lowest rank, Mizunoto, and they needed to choose ores for their katana.

The survivors did so and Himiko flopped on Genyas back when she was done, two crows landing on her. Supposedly, one for her and one for Genya. "The boys face started to glow. "Get off of me Himiko."

"No ❤️"

When it was time to depart, Himiko gave Genya a bone crushing hug. "I hope we meet again Gen-Gen!" She called as the poor boy was left in a daze. Why? He didn't know. Genya walked the opposite direction, to the Stone Estate, where he currently lived. After seven days of running, hanging demons, and binge eating, he wanted to sleep. Thankfully, Genya was able to make it back to the Stone Estate within five days, doing practically the same thing he did in the selection. Damn, that girl was rubbing off on him. Why? Again. No idea.

The boy eventually made it back to the Stone Estate and was greeted by a couple of Kakushi, who drew a bath for him and proceeded to prepare a meal after giving him a clean Yukata.

After said bath and meal, Genya crashed into his bed, flopping face-first onto his pillow.

Himiko went to a nearby village, buying a stay at an inn. She also got a new kimono and had her own kimono and hakama cleaned and fixed, cleaning herself up in the bathroom.

After said shower and collecting her things, Nakime appeared to her. "Hime-sama." Himiko heard her say. "Your necklace, I have retrieved it." She finished. "No need for honorifics Nakime! That's just for meetings. Thanks!" Himiko took her heir necklace and clipped it on. "Tell everyone I say hi, I hope they're doing well!"

"Of course." Nakime then struck her biwa, disappearing.

Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Moons, plus Rui and Enmu, were waiting for Nakime to return with the news. They were all anxious because Himiko would be surrounded by Demon slayers from now on, and would be in limited contact now that her Kasugain crow was with her nearly 24/7. Nakime soon returned, Akaza speaking up first. "So, is she okay?" He asked. "Hime-sama is well. Her necklace is returned. She bids you her greetings and hopes you are all doing well."

"Good to hear." Muzan said. Then, Doma spoke. "I wonder how she dealt with those demons in the selection." He said. "Did she decapitate them? Dismember them? Drag them in the sun?"

"Hime-sama went on a seven day spree, nonstop hunting and devouring the flesh of other demons for energy. She hung them by their organs on the trees, removing their brains and hearts. She was joined by a boy, who could also eat demons. They remained together throughout the selection, and the boy seemed to be attracted to her."

"Get me out there!" Akaza shouted, standing up. "No one is crushing on Himiko!"

"Hyo, hyo! Calm down Akaza! It's about time Himiko got a love life." Gyokko said, appearing from a vase. "I agree!" Doma chimed in. "Whenever she's here, she's either training, doing Kokushibo-donos hair, or dismembering a criminal!" As if to attest to that fact, Doma motioned to Kokushibo, who had his hair in a braid. The stoic demon would never admit it, but he liked it. "Hime-sama can do what she wishes, her wish is my dream to fulfill!" Enmu stated. Rui and Kokushibo were both watching the interaction silently, Rui in his small form, perched on Kokushibos shoulder. The spider demon moved on to teaching Kokushibo some cats cradle techniques, having been doing it since he could think. Suddenly, Aaza sliced off Domas head with his hand. Another day in the Infinity Fortress.
