'Sakura Lake, hm? Doesn't Mishi live there?' Himiko thought to herself as she read the letter from her crow. 'Tch, disrespectful brat. I can kill her.' Himiko put on her uniform and prepped her Corps-issued sword, having gotten it during her stay. She left the inn, proceeding to the village next to Sakura Lake.
As Himiko approached the village, she could sense Mishi, as well as a more familiar presence. Genya! Himiko headed that direction first. "Genya-kun!" she said, catching the boy's attention. "Looks like we have the same mission!"
"Not you again." Genya grumbled, but there was no hostility. Plus, his face was a little red. "Follow me! I think I know where the demon is!" Himiko chirped, skipping away, with Genya closely following. As they neared the center of town, the duo spotted a large crowd in front of a stage. There, on the stage, was Mishi. She was under the guise of a teenage protege singer in the village, giving herself some public fame. "There she is, up on the stage." Himiko said. "Lets wait until the show's over, then we'll kill her.
After the show, Genya and Himiko followed Mishi until she was alone in an alleyway. Himiko then turned to Genya, who nodded. "Alright, demon." Himiko said, drawing the sword the corps gave her. "Time to die."
"Eh? Another puny demon slayer?" Mishi yawned. "Two." Genya corrected, shooting her in the back of the head. The demon grimaced and fired some of her poison laced nails at the duo. Himiko easily blocked them with her sword and Genya dodged, swinging at her with his sword. "Tch." Mishi irked with a scowl and fired more of her nails. "Why wont you die!?" She shouted, forming whips with her hair and sending them at the duo. "Because we won't let a puny demon like you kill us!" Genya shouted back, firing two shots to her throat. "Asshole!" Was all Mishi had to say, charging Genya. Himiko called bullshit, knocking the demon down via drop kick. "Oh sweetie." Himiko cooed, leaning down, her sword on Mishis throat. "No one but me can insult Genya-kun while I'm around." Himiko let all eight of her demon fangs show, as well as her eyes and 'heir' choker, causing Mishi to pale. "Hime-sama! Mercy! Mercy!" She begged. It was too late. Himiko ejected her claws and plunged her hand into the demon's throat, ripping the organ out and swallowing it whole, Mishi watching the whole thing. Himiko then decided to end Mishis' misery, slicing what was remaining of her neck. "Wow, you're brutal." Genya commented. "Thanks." Himiko said, tossing an arm to her friend, who chomped down. Himiko helped herself to a leg before it turned to ash, satiating her hunger for the most part. She was one of the very few demons allowed to eat other demons. "So, where to now?" Toga asked. "East, east!" Her kasugai crow shouted. "To a monastery in the woods! The monks of Shinto are in danger!" The crow replied. "Alright then!" Himiko cheered.
As the two were headed out of the village though, they were interrupted. "Hey you, girl!" A drunk man said, grabbing her wrist. "You're coming with me."
"Oi, back off!" Genya shouted defensively, shoving the man away from Himiko. "Wah? Who are you?" The man asked. "None of your fucking business, the blondies with me." Genya said, snarling at the man. "And I don't give a fuck." The man stated, attempting to reach for Himiko. Genya however, had different plans. "I warned you." And sucker punched him in the face, proceeding to stomp on the man's forearm, breaking it. The drunkard screamed in pain as Himiko and Genya promptly left for their next mission, as if nothing had happened.
Genya and Himiko took off east, following Himiko's crow to the shinto temple. It was nighttime again by the time they approached the temple, the duo quietly looking inside. All of the monks were bowing towards the demon, obviously being forced to do so. Himiko growled. Doma was the only temple demon she approved of. The cult Doma ran also worked as a safe haven for many. All of the humans there knew of his demon nature and let him feed off of their blood. In return, Doma protected them. Wives from abusive households often came to him, as well as laborers and those who had nowhere else to go. Doma killed anyone who came into his temple with ill intent and ate them, but that was it.
Himiko drew her non-demonic sword, loping off the demon's head with a single powerful lunge. "Imposter." She muttered, sheathing her sword. Genya released the monks from the bindings on their ankles, letting them up.
Two months earlier…
"A team up? They didn't know each other before?" Kagaya asked his child curiously, his interest quipped. "Indeed. From the Kasugai reports, they ran and fought for seven days without rest, devouring demon flesh to sustain their energy. Himiko occasionally cut off their heads with her own sword, but it was most common for them to rip out their brains, hearts, and internal organs, hanging them in the tree branches." Kanata explained. "Oh dear. I knew Genya-kun could use demon flesh to his advantage. But another? This is quite the turn of events"
The demon slayers and Kakushi that were sent to clean up any bodies at the final selection, were all greeted with a brutal surprise. In the shaded areas, there were still demons hanging by their organs. Their hands were tied behind their backs to make sure they couldn't get down. The Flower Hashira, Kanae, was sent to make sure none of the others were attacked. "I can't help but remember what Shinobu did during her final selection." She said quietly as she put a hanging demon out of its misery.
After Himiko and Genya left the temple, they were both sent in different directions. "Mt. Nagumo! Mt Nagumo!" Himiko's crow shouted. She hugged Genya, bidding him farewell, and the poor boy became a blushing mess. "Emergency summons to Mt. Nagumo!" The bird reminded her. Himiko then ran off, in the direction of her little brother Rui.
When she got up the mountain, Himiko spotted Rui standing on some threads, above Tanjiro and his demon sister, buying time. He didn't want to kill them. Himiko pulled out Nakimes biwa plucker, throwing it at Rui and sending him back to the infinity castle. Tanjiro turned to her with a conflicted look on his face. Himiko then sensed a powerful presence approaching, soshe jumped, and blocked a purple haired woman from stabbing the girl Tanjiro was protecting. But unfortunately, that drew out Himiko's demon form. "Oh my! I was going to ask why you were protecting the other demon girl. But I guess I have my answer!"
"Keh Heh, yup! I was sent here to make sure Nezuko doesn't die and to deliver a message to Kagaya-sama!" Himiko turned to the two siblings. "You two run! This woman does not kill demons indiscriminately." She then turned to the Water Hashira that just arrived. "I suggest you go with them, Water Pillar. There's another one after them!" The ravenette silently took the advice, flanking Tanjiro. The butterfly woman then launched herself at Himiko, who dodged and kicked her in the stomach. This back and forth happened a few times, before a crow spoke up. "Caw! Caw! Kamado Tanjiro, the demon Nezuko Kamado, and Toga Himiko are to be brought into custody and taken to Headquarters! I repeat! Kamado Tanjiro, the demon Nezuko Kamado, and Himiko Toga are to be brought into custody and taken to Headquarters! Kamado Tanjiro wears a checkered haroi and has a scar on his forehead! Kanado Nezuko wears a bamboo muzzle! Toga Himiko has a purple and black Kimono and yellow eyes!" The blonde then let the butterfly woman hit her neck, knowing she wasn't going to die. What could she say? Naps were fun.
