CW: Omergaverse
1. This Novel Was Not Supposed To Be Omegaverse!
When Shen Qingqiu first transmigrated into Proud Immortal Demon Way, he was so confused and shock.
The story wasn't supposed to be in an omegaverse setting!
It had taken a while to get used to it, feeling the weird looks he might have been receiving. Well of course he wouldn't be able to act like "a real alpha", it wasn't a thing where he was from?! Still, he managed to adapt quickly, following the weird rules of omegaverse.
He had tired himself trying to remember if Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky had ever written anything like this in the original novel, yet he couldn't find anything in his memory. All he could think of were small comments here and there when people were asking him about it, talking about who would be what and what might happen. But these couldn't have been the reason, right?
He ended up giving up on understanding where it was coming from, only relieved that he had ended up being an alpha. Omegaverse were not really his cup of tea, but he knew enough about it to know how exactly many books were treating them. No thanks, he would rather stay safe without having to worry too much.
His dislike of how omegas were treated was probably why, once he had unlocked the ooc function, he decided to treat them better than what the original Shen Qingqiu must have ever done. Or even better than most alpha in general. It caused him some problems when some alpha believe he was trying to steal their mate. But if it meant that omegas could be more relax around him and not see him as a potential threat, he was ready to put up with these rare occurrences.
Even the disciple of his peak had started to change their way of acting, follow their Shizun step instead. If his Qing Jing Peak could be also known for how they treat everyone equally, he would be proud of it. He knew many other alphas didn't think the same, but he didn't give a damn about their opinions. His peak, his rules.
Being an alpha also helped to deal with Luo Binghe. Because, of course, the man had to also be an alpha, how could he be a good stallion novel protagonist if he wasn't one? He wouldn't be able to accumulate many wives like this. Although he wouldn't have been surprised if Airplane bro had decided to make his harem mixed of all three second genders. Even in the original, characters that didn't seem like they could be added in ended up in it, he wouldn't be surprised if the author had also bent the rules of omegaverse to make it work.
He then suspected that maybe the both of them being alphas had been a reason for how things had escalated the way they did. Well, not having a choice but to push Luo Binghe down the endless abyss was also a reason, but he was sure clashing as two alphas might not have helped. After all, until now the young man had often clashed with other alphas, often in defence of omega disciple or when someone mocked Shen Qingqiu for how he was too soft with said omegas.
Everything had ended up in him dying for his disciple sake, saving him from a qi deviation. All he could wish for was for Luo Binghe to do better now that he was gone and that he would remember his teaching. Now he would probably be able to live an easier life.
Little did he knew that it would take him five years before finally being rebirth, or that he would still have many of Shen Qingqiu features. Oh well, this was something he could still work with, he could bullshit his way out of this.
But he had one major problem upon waking up, something he had not thought would happen: this body ended up somehow being an omega instead of an alpha, or even just a beta.
At first, he didn't know what to do, everything around him felt different. Whereas before he could mostly pick up only on omegas scent, now he was doing the same but with alphas. The worst part was probably how he could nearly feel it when they were getting agitated, in rut or felt any strong emotion. He seriously hated how his body wanted to react to all of this.
Suddenly being thrown inside an omega body was not in his plan, and he would have done without people getting mad at him for having an "attitude". So when he was acting the way he does in his alpha body it was being "a good and strong alpha", but now that he was an omega he was "stepping out of line and too aggressive".
As happy as he had been to not hear the system since he had woken up, he did call out to it many times, wanting to know how it happened. But it was silence radio and had to simply accept this was going to be his new life: being an omega and try to protect himself as best as he could.
Next time he would meet Shang Qinghua he would need to apologise for not believe him about how much it could suck to be an omega in that universe. He had seen how bad it could be, but he had never gotten just how hard it could be. And Shen Qingqiu could be rather stubborn, he wasn't going to give in and act like a meek omega who would bare his neck to the first alpha asking for it.
He tried looking for at least one positive in this: if anyone suspected he was the original Qing Jing Peak Lord it could be easily dismissed because the second gender wasn't matching. He could go around doing whatever he wanted, far from the original plotline of the novel. Sure, sometimes he wished he could be in the safe heaven he had made of Qing Jing Peak, but it was a no no going back there for now without a plan, so he would always push the thought away.
As best as he tried to stay away from Luo Binghe, it was to believe he couldn't really do so.
Of course, he had to go and mess around by accident in Luo Binghe business, attracting Sha Hualing attention to him. He did well in escaping the first time, but it was to believe he didn't have much choice but to be reunited with his disciple.
Everything leads to right now, captured by Sha Hualing and unable to run away from Luo Binghe.
His body scent probably betrayed him in how scared he was, seeing how the Demon Lord had been enraged to see him. Probably seeing how much he looked like his previous body wasn't helping, maybe he was mad to see his bad Shizun again?
He had wanted to send a thankful look to Sha Hualing when she started to convince the man he could be used for his spiritual energy. The idea really didn't please him, he wasn't some kind of pool filter, but if it meant not dying a second time he could bear with it.
"An omega?" had scoffed Luo Binghe, making Shen Qingqiu frown a bit. He had to bite the inside of his cheek not to scold the man about his bad attitude towards him. Hadn't he taught him better than that? Where had all his teaching gone? Omegas could be just as powerful, they just weren't pushed as much as others because it was "better" for them to be meek and submissive.
He clicked his tongue, "Why don't you look before scoffing" he said, his voice more annoyed than he wanted it to be. Because he was! He was proud of how well this body works and just how much spiritual energy was in it! So what if he was an omega?
He kept his ground when the man looked back to him with a glare, no backing down. He didn't live the past weeks of not bowing down for every alpha only to do it for his little Binghe. The man should be knowing better than that anyway.
Yet it was probably enough because the Demon Lord did come closer to him, extracting his spiritual energy, replacing it with his own demonic one. It was, by no mean, something enjoyable. It was so painful he didn't know what to do, grabbing at his robe to correctly keep himself upright.
He wanted to groan in annoyance when the System decided now to show itself back, ringing in his ears painfully as Luo Binghe kept taking spiritual energy from him. He was extremely relieved when the painful sensation went away, while the system also decided not to add anything.
It wasn't long before his energy came back to him, making his breath hitch as he tried to calm his body down. This was not something he wanted to do again, yet he just had the feeling he wouldn't have any other choice in the matter.
He barely heard Luo Binghe warning Sha Hualing, before he was dragged with them into the rift created by the Demon Lord. Once in Huan Hua Palace, he was left alone with Sha Hualing to save his own face, as he was not going to have it ripped away. "I'll just wear a veil when near Bin- Lord Luo" he said, catching himself quickly at the end.
In no time he was directed to a room that would be his, new clothes brought to him to replace his torn one, also matching the other disciple of the palace. He had a quick rundown of what he could and couldn't do inside the palace. Of course, not missing the warning that he couldn't run away and that he better not try seducing Luo Binghe.
The last warning had been a bit surprising, as it was really not something he had thought of doing. It was good to know in a way, he would try not to act in a way that could be seen as seducing since about anything he does could be seen as such because he was an omega. He was not interested in dying a second time.
